현장시험을 통한 개단말뚝의 폐색효과에 대한 연구 (Analysis of Plugging Effect for Open-ended Piles Based on Field Tests)

  • 연구에서는 사질토 지반에서 개단말뚝의 지지력에 영향을 미치는 폐색효과를 조사하기 위하여 현장재하시험을 수행하였다. 현장재하시험은 직경이 다른 총 3본의 시험말뚝(508.0, 711.2, 914.4mm)을 제작하여 각각 동재하시험과 정재하시험을 실시하였다. 내주면마찰력과 외주면마찰력을 분리 측정하기 위하여 시험말뚝을 이중관으로 제작하였고, 외부말뚝의 안쪽과 내부말뚝의 바깥쪽 표면에 변형률계를 부착하였다. 정재하시험 결과, 내주면마찰력은 선단부로부터 총 관내토 길이의 약 18-34%의 부근에서 집중적으로 발생하였고, 이를 통해 말뚝 선단부근의 관내토가 내주면마찰력 발현에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 말뚝직경이 클수록 전체지지력에 대한 내주면마찰력과 순단면적의 선단지지력의 합의 비가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 말뚝의 폐색율을 정량화하기 위해 시험말뚝의 incremental filling ratio(IFR)를 측정하여 분석한 결과, SPT의 N값과 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

토오크 변환기의 특성에 대한 연구 (A study on the characteristics of torque transducer)

  • In the present the strain gauge type torque transducers consist of solid shaft as sensor, slip ring, brush and bridge circuit as detecting circuit. So in the case of measuring the low-capacity torque, the error caused by technical mistake in mounting stain gauge on the small sensor and especially by contact resistance between slip ring and brush takes place more than the large sensor. Therefore in this study constant voltage in order to have no effect of contact resistance is supplied to the hollow shaft and Schrobron Bridge Circuit. Through the experiment good results were obtained as follows; linearity, hysterisis and zero drift as static characteristics is within 1% F.S respectively. Also when loading, zero drift is about 2% F.S.

Evaluation of long term shaft resistance of the reused driven pile in clay

  • Reusing the used pile has not yet been implemented due to the unpredictability of the bearing capacity evolution. This paper presents an analytic approach to estimate the sides shear setup after the dissipation of pore pressure. Long-term evolution of adjacent soil is simulated by viscoelastic-plastic constitutive model. Then, an innovative concept of quasi-overconsolidation is proposed to estimate the strength changes of surrounding soil. Total stress method (α method) is employed to evaluate the long term bearing capacity. Measured data of test piles in Louisiana and semi-logarithmic time function are cited to validate the effectiveness of the presented method. Comparisons illustrate that the presented approach gives a reasonably prediction of the side shear setup. Both the presented method and experiment show the shaft resistance increase by 30%-50%, and this highlight the potential benefit of piles reutilization.

크기효과를 고려한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면마찰력 (Side Resistance of Rock Socketed Drilled Shafts in Consideration of the Shaft Size Effects)

  • 사공과 백(2003)에 의하면 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 단위주면마찰력은 암반의 상태, 종류, 일축압축강도, 구속압 등으로부터 영향을 받는 것으로 알려졌다. 또한 그들이 제안한 Hoek-Brown 공식을 변형한 암반근입부의 단위주면 마찰력 산정공식은 적절한 단위주면마찰력 값을 산정하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 단위주면마찰력 산정에 있어 말뚝의 크기효과를 고려하는 방법을 제안하였으며, 말뚝의 크기효과로 인한 단위주면마찰력의 영향을 조사하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 기존의 Hoek-Brown 공식을 변형한 식에 경험적인 암석의 일축압축강도에 대한 크기효과를 나타내는 식을 대입하여 결정되었다. 또한, 기존 논문에 보고된 말뚝재하실험 결과 중 12개의 실측치와 말뚝의 크기효과를 고려한 식을 통하여 계산된 단위주면마찰력의 예측치를 비교하였다. 비록 충분치 않은 지반조건이 기술되어 있는 상황이지만, 본 연구에서 제안하는 크기효과를 고려한 단위주면마찰력의 산정공식은 실측치와 근사한 결과를 보였다. 또한, 지반의 지질강도정수(GSI), 구속압, 일축압축강도, 말뚝의 직경에 대한 매개변수실험 결과 일축압축강도가 주면마찰력에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 말뚝의 크기는 상대적으로 그에 비해 적은 것으로 나타났으나 말뚝의 크기효과는 암반의 상태가 양호할수록 더욱 큰 것으로 관측되었다.

입형정미기를 이용한 청결배아미 제조기 개발 (Development of a Miller Producing Clean White Embryo Rice Using a Vertical Miller)

  • This study was carried out to develop a miller to produce white embryo rice with functional nutrients by improving the conventional vertical miller. The effects of rice moisture content and the shaft revolution speed of the miller on germ(embryo) adherence rate, whiteness, broken rice rate, and cracked rice rate were investigated. Also, the effect of the mesh size of emery stones on the germ adherence rate was investigated. The vertical prototype miller was improved with the increasement of about 42% in producing white embryo rice at proper conditions(shaft revolution speed of 900 rpm, emery stones of mesh #50, processing capacity of 2.3t/h, zero outlet resistance, rice moisture content of 16.2%). The results were as follows: 1. The germ adherence rate of white rice was significantly influenced by the moisture content of brown rice. The germ adherence rate of white rice decreased rapidly with the increase of the moisture content of brown rice. When brown rice with moisture content of 13.2%, 14.5%, 15.2%, 15.4% was milled by the prototype with emery stones of mesh #35 and shaft speed of 900(1,100) rpm, rpm adherence rate of milled rice was 76.2%(70%), 69.2%(66%), 45.9(38%), 13.0(9%), respectively. 2. The whiteness of white rice milled by the prototype with emery stones of mesh #35 and shaft speed of 1,100(900)rpm increased from 27(23) to about 40, respectively, as the moisture content of brown rice increased from 13.2% to 17.2%. 3. The rate of broken rice of white rice milled at 900rpm decreased by 0.6∼1.0% compared with that at 1,100rpm when the moisture content of brown rice was less than 15.2%. 4. The germ adherence rate was increased by 10.3% and 11.0%, respectively when brown rice with moisture content of 16.2% and 15.5% was milled by the prototype miller with shaft speed of 900rpm and emery stones of mesh #50 instead of mesh #35. 5. Considering the germ adherence rate, broken rice rate, and whiteness of milled rice, the proper milling conditions of the prototype miller for producing embryo rice were the moisture content of about 15%, the processing capacity of 2.3t/h and minimum outlet resistance of 0Nㆍm with shaft speed of 900rpm and emery stones of mesh #50.

Development of an optimized model to compute the undrained shaft friction adhesion factor of bored piles

  • Accurate prediction of the undrained shaft resistance is essential for robust design of bored piles in undrained condition. The undrained shaft resistance is calculated using the undrained adhesion factor multiplied by the undrained cohesion of the soil. However, the available correlations to predict the undrained adhesion factor have been developed using simple regression techniques and the accuracy of these correlations has not been thoroughly assessed in previous studies. The lack of the assessment of these correlations made it difficult for geotechnical engineers to select the most accurate correlation in routine designs. Furthermore, limited attempts have been made in previous studies to use advanced data mining techniques to develop simple and accurate correlation to predict the undrained adhesion factor. This research, therefore, has been conducted to fill these gaps in knowledge by developing novel and robust correlation to predict the undrained adhesion factor. The development of the new correlation has been conducted using the multi-objective evolutionary polynomial regression analysis. The new correlation outperformed the available empirical correlations, where the new correlation scored lower mean absolute error, mean square error, root mean square error and standard deviation of measured to predicted adhesion factor, and higher mean, a20-index and coefficient of correlation. The correlation also successfully showed the influence of the undrained cohesion and the effective stress on the adhesion factor. Hence, the new correlation enhances the design accuracy and can be used by practitioner geotechnical engineers to ensure optimized designs of bored piles in undrained conditions.

Dynamic response of vertically loaded rectangular barrettes in multilayered viscoelastic soil

  • Rectangular barrettes have been increasingly used as foundations for many infrastructure projects, but the vertical vibration of a barrette has been rarely addressed theoretically. This paper presents an analysis method of dynamic response for a rectangular barrette subjected to a time-harmonic vertical force with the aid of a modified Vlasov foundation model in multilayered viscoelastic soil. The barrette-soil system is modeled as a continuum, the vertical continuous displacement model for the barrette and soil is proposed. The governing equations of the barrette-soil system and the boundary conditions are obtained and the vertical shaft resistance of barrette is established by employing Hamilton's principle for the system and thin layer element, respectively. The physical meaning of the governing equations and shaft resistance is interpreted. The iterative solution algorithm flow is proposed to obtain the dynamic response of barrette. Good agreement of the analysis and comparison confirms the correctness of the present solution. A parametric study is further used to demonstrate the effects of cross section aspect ratio of barrettes, depth of soil column, and module ratio of substratum to the upper soil layers on the complex barrette-head stiffness and the resistance stiffness.

고온초전도 벌크 베어링을 사용한 유도 전동기의 특성 시험 (Performance Tests of an Induction Motor with Hexahedron HTS Bulk Bearing)

  • The high temperature superconducting bulk can be used as the bearing of induction motors. This paper presents the fabrication and test results of an induction motor with superconducting bearings using HTS bulks. The bearing had eight hexahedron type YBCO bulks. Height, width and thickness of the HTS bulk were 30mm, 30mm and 10mm, respectively. Single phase induction motor was used to drive the shaft made of aluminum and the rotor of a conventional induction motor. To estimate the performance of the HTS bulk magnetic bearing, no load test, load test and Impact test were carried out. Load tests were performed by using air resistance caused by the shaft-mounted thin cylinder with buckets. Impact tests by axial direction and vertical direction impact showed that the vibration of the shaft gradually decayed. The induction motor with HTS bulk magnetic bearing rotated silently and smoothly throughout the tests. According to the test results, conventional bearings can be replaced with superconducting magnetic bearings made of HTS bulks.

  • In this study, Machining fine shaft was examined by Lathe. method is proposed to control the thrust force to 0. through relationship between the cutting depth and the thrust force in turning, fine-shaft of less than 0.1mm diameter in turning is confirmed experimentally. also we propose practical expression to control thrust force in turning Through to change the approach angle, optimal tool design would be possible in turning.

수치해석을 통한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성 분석 및 설계차트 제시 (Numerical Analyses on the Behavioral Characteristics of Side of Drilled Shafts in Rocks and Suggestion of Design Charts)

  • 현장타설말뚝이 주면저항력에 의해서만 지지되는 상황은 천공홀 바닥을 청소할 수 없어서 선단부 지지력의 반현 여부를 확신할 수 없을 때이다. 반대로, 신선한 기반암이 낮은 강도의 상부 재료 하부에 있는 경우는 암반에서의 선단지지력만으로 상부 하중을 지탱할 수 있으며, 상부 재료에서는 지지력 발현을 기대하지 않아도 된다. 그러나 신선암에서 일정 깊이 천공을 실시한 경우, 현장타설말뚝은 주면저항력과 선단지지력 모두를 기대할 수 있다. 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 거동에 관한 이론적 연구와 현장 시험을 통하여 작용 하중의 대부분이 통상 주면저항력에 의해서 지지되게 된다는 사실이 알려져 있다. 암-콘크리트 접촉면에서의 수직응력은 두 가지 기구에 의해 증가하게 된다. 먼저, 말뚝 상부에 작용하는 압축하중에 의해서 콘크리트는 탄성 다이레이션이 발생하고 두 번째로 거친 천공홀 표면에서 전단 변위를 통해서 접촉면의 역학적 다이레이션이 발생되게 된다. 수직 변위에 대한 근입부 주변 물질의 강성도가 일정하면, 작용하중이 증가함에 따라서 수직응력은 증가하게 되며 따라서, 전단강도의 증가 현상이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 수치해석을 통하여 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성을 조사하였다. 또한, 두부의 하중-침하량(선단부 침하량+말뚝의 탄성변형량) 관계가 비선형성을 띠는 원인 및 파괴기구를 충분히 조사함으로써 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면저항력에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 모두 고려하여 국내 풍화암 및 연암에 근입되는 현장타설말뚝의 설계차트를 제시하고 이를 검증하였다.
