Objectives : This study investigated the level of sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity and factors influencing on them among Korean high school and college students. Methods : 129 questionnaires from high school and college students with consent forms, collected from July to December of 2022, were analyzed. After identification of participants' gender, age, major, their report of the practicality of sex education, and their experience of violence or sexual assaults, participants' level of sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity were compared. Results : Females showed higher gender sensitivity, regardless of age and group (p=0.004). The early adulthood group (≥19 years old) showed higher sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity, compared to those adolescents (<19 years old). Among college students, those who majored in health science were identified with higher sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity, compared to non-health science major students(p<0.001; p=0.005). Conclusions : This study revealed the significant differences in sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity according to sex, age, and majors in adolescents and early adults. Therefore, it seems to be necessary to consider the differences in sexuality knowledge and gender sensitivity among age, sex, and majors when establishing public policy or legislation for sex crimes, including digital sex crimes.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of parenting processes(parental support, monitoring, communication about sexuality) on college students' sexual attitudes and sexual behaviors. For this purpose, a survey was conducted using self-administered questionnaires with 361 college students. The results showed that both sexual attitudes and sexual behaviors were different according to sex, age, and dating period. In addition, sexual attitudes of males were correlated with father's support, mother's support and monitoring of parenting processes. It also found that the direct sexual behaviors were correlated with mother's support. Finally, results of multiple regression analysis showed that sex, parents' support, monitoring and communication about sexuality influenced sexual attitudes. Sex and parents' support had indirect influence on sexual behaviors. Experience of dating and communication about sex had direct influence on sexual behavior.
Background: The negative effects of gynecologic cancer on women's health is multidimensional. Sexual problems arising after chemotherapy are decreased interest and vaginal lubrication, lack of orgasm and dyspareunia and sense of reduction in sexual attractiveness in general. The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes that patients who receive chemotherapy for a gynecologic oncology disorder experience in their sexual functions. Materials and Methods: A descriptive/cross-sectional and qualitative study was performed. The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) was used in order to collect data on sexual capacity. The quantitative data obtained were evaluated with frequency and percentage calculations while content analysis was performed for the qualitative data. Results: All of the information related to sexuality was provided by the physician. Chemotherapy treatment affected sexuality negatively in 55.9%. Since receiving the diagnosis, 52.9% of women had experienced no sexual intercourse at all. Those who had an FSFI score of 30 and below made up 75% of the women. After the content analysis of data obtained during in in-depth interviewing, we focused on three main themes: desire for sexual intercourse, problems experienced during sexual intercourse, and coping with problems. Conclusions: An integrated system where sexual problems can be handled professionally should be present during gynecological cancer treatment.

Purpose: The Purpose of this study was to investigate how elders in rural communities maintain their sexual life. Methods: Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 20 participants who were 65 years old or older, and either were married couples or were continuing the sexual relationship though widowed. Data were analyzed based on Strauss and Corbin's (1990) Grounded Theory Methodology. Results: The core category of experiences of the elderly's sexual life was identified with 'changeable sexual life at husband's mercy'. This process could be divided into 3 stages, which were the stage of recognition of sex difference and obstacle in sexual life, the stage of observation of partner's attitude and the stage of husband's lead in sexual life. Conclusions: This study found that sexuality was an important aspect for the elderly although their sexual interests and activities declined along with aging. In addition, the husband's sexual and economic capabilities and sexual difference were very important factors in the elderly's sexual life. It is suggested to consider sexuality as a normal aspect of life for the elderly when nurses plan for their care.

This study focused on the gender differences in the impact of a premarital educational program as an elective course at a university. Six hundred university students who were enrolled in the course "Family and Marriage" at a university in Pusan were surveyed for this study The students completed the survey questionnaire about attitudes toward marriage, family, love, spouse, sexuality and gender-roles, before and after the course. The data were analyzed by correlation, 1-test, two-Way ANOVA. The aim of this study was to assess adolescents' sexuality and to gather student opinions on current school-based sex education in South Korea. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted in Seoul, Incheon, and Kyunggi Province to assess the status and needs of high school sexuality education. Survey data was obtained from 1,130 senior high school students. The rates of sexual intercourse for boys and girls were 33.1% and 13.2% respectively. Boys were more likely to be sexually involved (p = .000) and experienced earlier at first sexual intercourse than girls (p = .006). Among students who had sexual intercourse, only 20.3% (21.1% of boys and 19.1% of girls) used contraceptives at first sexual intercourse. The proportion of respondents who had had sexual intercourse was higher among those with poor self-perceived academic performance (p = .000). The proportion was also higher among those with a boy or girl friend (p = .000). Other risk-taking behaviors such as smoking and drinking were associated with sexual activity (p = .000). This study found that most students were not satisfied with sex education because of teachers' lack of information and skills in delivering it. Most teachers providing sex education were not qualified and/or trained. They should receive adequate training and guidelines for the training. Training should also give teachers time to practice and become comfortable in delivering it.
As foundation wear, underwear is the starting point where a woman shapes her figure and constructs a female identity. In the late twentieth century, the use of underwear as outerwear was extensively adapted, so underwear as outerwear is the latest thing today. Based on literature review, this study aimed to examine how underwear was adopted for use as outerwear extensively in the late twentieth century. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, originally there was no border between underwear and outerwear at the start. With the change of female social and political status, the function of underwear and its design has been changed diversely. Also, its revealing and decoration has been linked with female sexual attraction. Second, by some precursor fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier, underwear was redefined as outerwear with erotic but powerful meaning in the Twentieth century. Their idea had an enormous influence on contemporary fashion culture, and consequently has become popularized like lingerie look today. Third, the change of female social status led a big change in view on the female sexuality and the ideas of femininity in fashion culture in the Twentieth century. Dressed by Gaultier, Madonna's performance wearing corset costume played a role in redefining contemporary femininity in relation to sexuality and power, even though it is still under the controversy.
