Recently, 3D stereoscopic video and HTTP adaptive streaming technologies have received a lot of attention from relevant industrial fields and markets in terms of multimedia contents and delivery services, respectively. It is expected that promising and marketable service models can be created by means of these noticeable two technologies. However, current standard specifications do not provide a method for organized connection between those two technologies. 3D stereoscopic video services are weighted in broadcasting and storage services that are only available under environments in which the network bandwidth is guaranteed or free. Also, HTTP adaptive streaming technologies only provide plain 3D service methods that are dependent on particular Codec. Therefore, this paper proposes 3D video delivery format for HTTP adaptive streaming service which enables stable and seamless display for various stereoscopic video sequences over internet networks. The proposed technology is designed on the basis of Stereoscopic Video Application Format which is a service-oriented standard specification for storing stereoscopic video sequences. Also, this delivery format is directly applicable over DASH that is the representative standard technology for HTTP adaptive streaming services. The delivery format proposed in this paper has been submitted to MPEG and it has been accepted as a working draft, thus it expected to pave the way for practical industrialization in relevant fields from now on.
In this paper. we propose an adaptive handover scheme in wireless network The proposed handover scheme is a hybrid type of virtual path extension and rerouting. The proposed handover scheme chooses the virtual path management scheme according to the service QoS instead of the network topology which is used in the previous hybrid handover schemes. The proposed scheme supports the seamless service and small buffering during virtual path rerouting handover through the multicasting service. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. we compute the number of signaling message used for handover and perform computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides more efficiency in the handover delay and seamless service than the previous methods.

With ubiquitous computing aid, it can improve human being's life quality if all people have more convenient medical service under pervasive computing environment. In this paper, for a pervasive health care application for diabetes patient, we've implemented a health care system, which is composed of three parts. Various sensors monitor both outer and inner environment of human such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and glycemic index, etc. These sensors form zigbee-based sensor network. And as a backend, medical information server accumulates sensing data and performs back-end processing. To simply transfer these sensing values to a medical team may be a low level's medical service. So, we've designed a model with context awareness for more improved medical service which is based on ART(adaptive resonance theory) neural network. Our experiments show that a proposed healthcare system can provide improved medical service because it can recognize current context of patient more concretely.

Cloud computing is now a widespread and economical option when data owners need to outsource or share their data. Designing secure and efficient data access control mechanism is one of the most challenging issues in cloud storage service. Anonymous broadcast encryption is a promising solution for its advantages in the respects of computation cost and communication overload. We bring forward an efficient anonymous identity-based broadcast encryption construction combined its application to the data access control mechanism in cloud storage service. The lengths for public parameters, user private key and ciphertext in the proposed scheme are all constant. Compared with the existing schemes, in terms of encrypting and decrypting computation cost, the construction of our scheme is more efficient. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is proved to achieve adaptive security against chosen-ciphertext attack adversaries in the standard model. Therefore, the proposed scheme is feasible for the system of data access control in cloud storage service.

Recently, due to the prevalence of various mobile devices and broadband wireless networks, a significant interests and demands for multimedia streaming services over the Internet have been increasing. However, it is difficult to transmit continuous multimedia stream when mobile terminals are moving. Therefore, in order to deploy mobile IPTV service in the broadband wireless network, efficient wireless resource utilization and seamless QoE (Quality of Experience) offers to the users are an important issue. In this paper, we propose a network based adaptive streaming scheme, called MARC (Mobile Adaptive Rate Control), which controls the quality of the video and rate of the video based on the status of the wireless channel. The proposed scheme uses awareness information of the wireless channel status and controls transmitting streaming video which is suitable for the wireless channel status and mobile station location, in order to provide a seamless video playback for mobile environment in addition to improving the quality of a streaming service. The proposed MARC scheme alleviates the discontinuity of video playback and allocates suitable client buffer in broadband wireless network. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed scheme.

In recent years, various contents traffics are increasing according to the various internet connectable devices which have become contents provider. Because these contents traffics show different pattern from previous one, many researches for efficient contents delivery system are in progress. CCN(Contents Centric Network), one of the representative research subject, has inter operation problem with a current network because it has clean-state architecture. In this point of view, this paper suggests the SaNA(Service adaptive Network Architecture) for efficient contents delivery when it inter operates with current network architecture. SaNA is a convergence system which can be gradually applied to current network using CCN and SDN(Software Defined Network) which are core future internet technologies. Appling this system on the contents delivery service, it can increase the network bandwidth utilization by two times and decrease the contents delivery time by 1.7 times.
We propose a multi-rate and multi-BEP transmission scheme using adaptive overlapping pulse-position modulator (OPPM) and optical power controller in optical code division multiple access (CDMA) networks. The proposed system achieves the multi-rate and multi-BEP transmission by accommodating users with different values of OPPM parameter and transmitted power in the same network. The proposed scheme has advantages that the system is not required to change the code length and number of weight depending on the required bit rate of a user and the difference of bit rates does not have so much effect on the bit error probabilities (BEPs). Moreover, the difference of transmitted powers does not cause the change of bit rate. We analyze the BEPs of the four multimedia service classes corresponding to the combinations of high/low-rates and low/high-BEPs and show that the proposed scheme can easily achieve distinct differentiation of the service classes with the simple system configuration.

This paper introduces the mobility-adaptive QoE provisioning solution. The key is placed on the intelligent selection of access network depending on the QoE criteria classified by the user mobility and the bandwidth demand for service. We further focus on the network-based smart handover scheme using the mobility-adaptive handover decision and the enhanced MIH-FMIP framework. The concept is the network-based calm service and the balance in order to facilitate vertical and seamless handover. In result, it is figured out that our solution improves QoE performance by selecting appropriate access network, repressing handover occurrence, and reducing handover delay as well.

In video-on-demand systems, the I.O bandwidth of video servers is the critical resource which contributes to increase in latency. Several approaches: bridging, piggybacking are used to reduce the I/O demand on the video server through sharing. Batching delays the requests for the different videos for a batching window so that more requests for the same video arriving during the current batching window may be served using the same stream. In this paper, we propose an adaptive reservation-based batching policy which dynamically reserves video server capacity for popoular videos according to video server loads. The performance of the proposed policy is evaluated through a simulation, and is compared with simple batching and static reservation-based batching policies. As the result, we know that the adaptive reservation-based batching policy more improves service ratio and average waiting time than simple batching and simple reservation-based batching policy more improves service ratio and average waiting time than simple batching and simple reservation-based batching polices.

In this paper, we propose an Aggregate Three Color Marker without per flow management which is required for an Edge router to improve End-to-End QoS of Assured Service in DiffServ. Proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker is used with the Adaptive RIO-DC scheme to achieve the minimum rate guarantee without per flow management. Assuming that the admission control for Assured Service has been performed, proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker measures incoming In-profile traffic rate at the output link of an edge router using a token-bucket with a token rate equal to the sum of contracted rates of admitted flows passing the edge router. If there are token losses from the token bucket, out-of-profile packets are promoted to Yellow packets within the aggregate traffic profile. And yellow packets are demoted to out-of-profile packets at the input link to an Edge router fer the purpose of fairness maintenance. In-profile packets and Yellow packets are processed identically at the RIO-DC buffer management scheme in our proposed method. Simulation results show that through using proposed Aggregate Three Color Marker with the Adaptive RIO-DC scheme, the minimum rate guarantee for Assured Service can be achieved without per flow management at multiple DiffServ domains.
