관상동맥우회로술(CABG)환자의 재원일수와 병원 내 사망률 변이에 대한 경피적관상동맥성형술(PTCA)과 소아심장수술(PHS)의 영향분석 (A Study on the Effects of Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty and Pediatric Heart Surgery on the Differences of Risk-Adjusted Length of Stay and In-Hospital Death for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the outcome for CABG according to whether hospitals provided heart related surgeries. The 2011 National Inpatient Sample (NIS) and inpatient quality indicator principles from the Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) were used for analysis. Hospitals were divided into three groups according to the surgeries they provided. The length of stay and in-hospital deaths were adjusted for the differences in risks. ANOVA was performed to examine the differences for the risk-adjusted in-hospital mortality rate and risk-adjusted length of stay among the three groups. The analysis results showed that hospitals providing CABG, PTCA, and PHS had lower risk-adjusted in-hospital mortality rates or similar risk-adjusted lengths of stay compared to those of hospitals providing only CABG. However, the three groups did not have statistically significant differences in outcome indicators. Another study will be needed with a larger sample.

  • During pregnancy and lactation, folate status is important because folate requirements increase during the periods as well as maternal folate status influences on pregnancy outcome and human milk folate; especially folate deficiency around periconceptional period may induce neural tube defects(NTDs) of fetus. There have been a plenty of evidences that maternal folate status deteriorates during pregnancy of fetus. There have been a plenty of evidences that maternal folate status deteriorates during pregnancy and lactation if folate needed is not sufficiently provided. The Public health Service of the United States recommends all child-bearing is not sufficiently provided. The Public Health Service of the United States recommends all child-bearing women to intake 0.4mg of folate daily, and the Food and Drug Administration the folate status of child-bearing women and to reduce the rate of occurrence of NTDs. Many authors have insisted that the current recommended dietary allowances of folate for Americans are too low to maintain good folate status. There are little data about Korean folate status including pregant and lactating women. A couple of reports indicated that the folate intakes of Korean pregant and lactating women are below the Korean RDAs of folate and serum folate levels of them are subnormal. The authors pregnant and lactating women. Therefore, it is worth to review the assessment methods of folate status of pregnant and lactating women, folate RDAs for them, the relationships between maternal folate status and pregnancy outcome as well as human milk folate, the methods to increase folate intake, and the problems of large dose of folic acid supplementatiion.

The Net Promoter Score with Friends and Family Test applied to arthroscopic shoulder surgery

  • Background: The Friends and Family Test (FFT) developed by the UK National Health Service evaluates whether patients are satisfied with a service provided, where improvements are needed, and how likely patients are to recommend the intervention. Calculated from the FFT, the Net Promoter Score (NPS) creates a recommendation metric for treatment. The primary aim of this prospective study is to evaluate NPS for arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD) and rotator cuff repair (RCR). Secondary aims are to postoperatively evaluate 1-year changes in patients' Oxford Shoulder Scores (OSSs) in terms of the proportion of patients satisfied with their surgery and correlation with FFT. Methods: During a 2-year period, all patients undergoing ASD or RCR completed questionnaires prospectively. Collected preoperatively and postoperatively at 1 year. Results: NPSs were 31 for ASD (n=32) and 52 for RCR (n=39). OSSs increased by 4.3 and 6.9 for ASD and RCR, respectively (P<0.001). Overall, 75% of ASD and 77% of RCR patients were either "satisfied" or "very satisfied," respectively, with procedure outcomes. Scores from FFT had a positive correlation with improvement in OSS and satisfaction scores among patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgeries (P<0.001). Conclusions: The current study shows positive NPS outcomes in patients with ASD and RCR. Scores from FFT correlate well with both satisfaction and OSS among patients. NPS can be an adjunct to traditional patient-reported outcome measures to provide global evaluation of patient experiences to aid in determining the clinical value of common procedures in shoulder orthopaedics.   • Rebuilding an existing paper machine is often a very profitable way for papermakers to increase the cash flow created by an older paper machine. Metso Paper has placed particular emphasis in recent years on developing concepts and products specifically for rebuild needs. The outcome of this work can now be seen as a wide selection of products offering quite possibly the best coverage of all time of specific improvement targets. Different needs can be addressed through truly different solutions. Selection the best-fit alternatives will offer great upgrade options for all paper machines and paper grades. Metso Paper's long experience with high-speed paper machines has been put to good use to create more cost-effective small and mid-sized solutions with the reliability and quality of bigger and faster paper machines. This paper has discussed some of the most interesting and latest configurations available today for paper machine and finishing area rebuilds.

  • The wide spread of smartphones and the growth of the number of internet users are reshaping the SNS (Social Network Service). Merging into other service areas and creating new business models with high profits, SNS is no more a service simply providing personal connections. Now SNS has positioned itself as a service platform. SNG (Social Network Game) is a new outcome utilizing SNS as a game platform and showing a rapid growth rate in a short period of time. The number of SNG users is expected to increase steadily. In this study, we examine whether SNG user motivations lead to flow experience and future intention to use. For that purpose, we conducted a survey with smartphone users. The results indicate that flow experience functions as a mediator and user motivations indirectly affect intention to use through flow experience. This paper concludes with discussions on findings and suggestions for future research.

IPTV서비스 수용의 영향요인에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Influencing Factors of IPTV Service Adoption)

  • The purpose of this study is to elicit influential factors on accepting IPTV services and define the casual relationship between the factors, and "user satisfaction", "re-use intention", "stranger recommendation intention", in an attempt to provide useful guidelines to IPTV carriers, contents providers and equipment makers for their forming IPTV service models and marketing strategies. For this end, the theoretical background of this study has been brought from relevant literature, and theoretical study models have been established by logical reasoning of the interrelation among diverse components. Then, the established models have been analyzed by using statistical packages "SPSS(12.0), LISREL(8.72)". Finally theoretical and practical significance and future study direction have been suggested. To make sure of effective validity of IPTV service adoption models above, empirical studies should be made continuously. And then vertical and horizontal studies at a specific point would show ever-changing causal relationship, helping to promote financial outcome of relevant companies and organizations.

국내 인터넷 뱅킹 현황 및 서비스 평가에 관한 실증적 연구

  • The Internet banking service, through which customers process their banking-related works, was introduced in July 1997. The service has since spread quickly, and as of the end of June 2000, just one year after its introduction into Korea, its subscribers numbered 1.23 million people. This figure is ten times larger than the 120,000 subscribers recorded over the six months period up to the end of 1999. In addition, since the end of June 2000, subscriptions on average increase by more than 10,000 a day, and by the end of December 2000, it is expected to pass the 3 million mark. There has been no empirical study conducted on the invigorated Internet banking's status and its services. Therefore, this research is designed to conduct a survey on the Internet banking service status, to conduct actual transactions from the viewpoint of customers and then make a empirical evaluation of it. This will indicate directions for improvement and development of the domestic Internet banking service. We have evaluated ten areas of the Internet banking service including financial service, customers service, users'convenience, and system safety. As of the end of June 2000, 18 out of 20 commercial domestic banks are providing an Internet banking service, and we have conducted evaluations of all these banks. The evaluation is divided into ten categories with 100 points as a maximum score. These are then classified into six grades AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB and B. The outcome of this evaluation was featured in the major domestic journals, and the banks, acknowledging the value of the report, declared that they would adopt it as their criteria for evaluation.

Outbound Service Quality at Wan Hai Lines

  • Service quality is still a new concept to those who works in shipping lines services since it has not been identified as a mandatory factor to increase competitiveness. Most carriers are currently offering services at the same level of price, transit time, equipment, etc. Thus offering a high quality service is the best way for a carrier to differentiate itself from its competitors in the market. The research aims to conduct an assessment on service quality at Wan Hai Lines (WHL) outbound services based on the SERVQUAL model, form of dimension-by-dimension analysis. This study was based on a survey of 135 people. The outcome is the service quality of WHL outbound services can be identified by three dimension(s): Empathy and Responsiveness, Assurance, and Reliability. It would help management to have an overall picture about the current service quality, and to find solutions to improve service quality following the recommendations. WHL managers need to recognize that "Reliability" has the strongest influence on customers' expectations, then come "Empathy and Responsiveness" and "Assurance". Therefore, board of managers should spend time looking carefully at each of the three dimensions, especially for the biggest gap between perceptions and expectations of three dimensions as well. Then the recommendations were raised.

은행 기업고객의 재거래의도 영향요인 (An Empirical Study on the Influencing Factors of Repurchase Intentions for Bank's Corporate Customers)

  • 본 연구는 재구매의도에 대한 기존연구에서 중요한 결정변수로 연구되어온 고객만족과 서비스 품길 외에 소비정서 및 전환비용을 새롭게 도입하여 기를 고객의 유지전략인 재구매의도의 영향요인를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 은행에 거래하는 기업고객들과 기업고객을 담당하고 있는 은행직원으로부터 자료를 수집하여 구조방정식 모형를 이용하여 가설을 검증하였다. 본 연구곁과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째, 재구매의도의 가장 중요한 결정번수는 고객만즉으로 제시되고 있다. 둘째, 서비스 품절을 측정 시 서비스가 고객에게 전달되어지는 과정을 의미하는 과정 품길 외에 고객이 서비스로부터 실제로 받거나 또는 서비스 공급자에 의해 전담되어지는 결과 품질을 함께 측정하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 긍정적인 소비정서는 고객만족에 정(+)의 영향을, 부정적인 소비정서는 고객만족과 재구매의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 전환비용은 상대적으로 영향력은 크지 않았으나 고객만족, 부정적 소비정서와 함께 재구매의도의 선행요인으로 작용하고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 겯론적으로 고객의 재구매의도에 대한 선행요인으로 고객만족과 과정품질의 상대적 영향력이 제일 크게 나타나고 있으며 긍정적 소비정서, 부정적 소비정서. 결과 품질 및 천환비용 역시 기업거래 고객의 재구매의도를 예측하는 변수로 활용될 수 있음을 제안해 죽 있다.

  • 본 연구는 재구매의도에 대한 기존연구에서 중요한 결정변수로 연구되어온 고객 만족과 서비스 품질 외에 소비정서 및 전환비용을 새롭게 도입하여 기존 고객의 유지전략은 재구매의도의 영향요인을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 A은행에 거래하는 기업고객들에게 설문지 620부를 배부하여 자료를 수집하였으며 이들 중 374부와 기업고객을 담당하고 있는 은행직원으로부터 112부의 설문지를 회수하여 LISREL 8.12로 분석하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째, 재구매의도의 가장 중요한 결정변수는 고객만족으로 제시되고 있다. 둘째, 서비스 품질을 측정시 서비스가 고객에게 전달되어지는 과정을 의미하는 과정 품질 외에 고객이 서비스로부터 실제로 받거나 또는 서비스 공급자에 의해 전달되어지는 결과 품질을 함께 측정하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 긍정적인 소비정서는 고객만족에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 부정적인 소비정서는 고객만족과 재구매의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 전환비용은 상대적으로 영향력은 크지 않았으나 고객만족, 부정적 소비정서와 함께 재구매의도의 선행요인으로 작용하고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 결론적으로 고객의 재구매의도에 대한 선행요인으로 고객만족과 과정품질의 상대적 영향력이 제일 크게 나타나고 있으며 긍정적 소비정서, 부정적 소비정서, 결과 품질 및 전환비용 역시 기업거래 고객의 재구매의도를 예측하는 변수로 활용될 수 있음을 제안해 주고 있다.
