The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the integrated search services for integrated libraries operated by local governments in Korea. The target of analysis was integrated libraries operated by 25 local governments in Seoul, and the analysis elements were selected from service functions in 12 areas related to integrated search. The results of the study are as follows. First, the integrated library is an association of public libraries and small libraries in autonomous districts and provides integrated search services. The provided integrated search service function, types of bibliographic information, and facets are not diverse. Second, the records in the search results were mostly item types, not title types. Third, enrichment information supplementing book information consists of book introductions, related information, book-related keywords, and loan-related information. Fourth, integrated search shows the form of integrated OPAC based on integrated catalog DB rather than discovery-type search. It concentrates on providing an integrated search for catalog DBs distributed in public libraries or small libraries in the autonomous district. Fifth, most integrated libraries provide similar service types. Based on these results, improvement plans were proposed for domestic public libraries to expect discovery-type integrated search services.

To provide autonomous and dynamic services for users in a ubiquitous environment where heterogeneity, mobility and variability are main characteristics, an efficient service description/structuring mechanism and a service composition method are essential. Service composition can consider context in real-time and compose appropriate services. In this research, we propose a mechanism for extracting services from a specific domain and structuring them into hierarchical service ontology. Each service is described using the proposed service specification. Based on this service ontology, users can represent their goals using various abstraction levels of services, and then our service overloading method enables to invoke the most appropriate service at the execution time. Moreover, we present a method which can discovery an alternative service by referencing the service ontology, when the requested service is not available. The experimental result shows that our service ontology could improve the success probability of users' goals and reduce service binding time compare to using just an unstructured list of services.

TV-Anytime metadata can be delivered by unidirectional or bi-directional network. In bi -directional environment, the special request of a client is sent to metadata service providers and then the providers provide the personalized metadata back to the client. In this paper. we introduce the design and implementation of a broadcasting receiver for personalized broadcasting service in bi-directional environment. We describe actual system configuration and usage examples for bi-directional personalized service. The implemented receiver provides various functions for a digital broadcasting recorder and is based on TV-Anytime specification and UDDI specification to provide the metadata service discovery.

In the traditional Server/Client architecture, the client connects to the known servers and gets information through web searching. However, nowadays, diverse internet devices providing services (get) working on internet easily. The update interval of the services or information provided by the devices is relatively short. And also they tend to be both a server and a client. In this situation, the way of the traditional information searching such as web searching is not appropriate. In this paper we propose a service push model, where it pushes its service profiles to all the other network devices by broadcasting them on the network. When a device connects to the network newly, it can get all service profiles in the network and it gets service profiles newly pushed by service providers in prompt. Also it can call any service among the service profiles within itself. We implemented a prototype system for the service push model on the JXTA platform based on P2P network. Also we measured the service profile pushing delay, the service discovery time, and the response time of service execution by running test applications written on the prototype system.

이동 환경에서 뿐만 아니라 향후 단말 중심의 개인화 서비스가 제공되는 유비쿼터스 환경에서는 다양한 단말 및 센서들이 존재할 것이고 이들은 네트워크 상에서 서로 상대의 위치를 인식하여 특정 장치가 가진 기능이나 서비스를 획득하기 위하여 상호 통신하거나 새로이 추가되는 장치를 자동으로 구성할 수있어야 한다. 이와 같이, 위치 기반 서비스 및 peer-to-peer 컴퓨팅을 지원하기 위해 ‘서비스 발견’은 모바일 컴퓨팅을 위한 미들웨어로서의 역할을 수행하게 될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 JINI, UPnP, Salutation, SLP2, Bluetooth SDP 등의 기술에서 제공되는 서비스 발견 프로토콜(메커니즘)을 살펴보고 이들의 특성을 비교하고자 한다.

In a previous study on the parasites of cultured rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus), we reported the discovery of a new species, Ceratomyxa oplegnathus, obtained from the gallbladder. In the present study, we found another Ceratomyxa species, C. sparusaurati, also from the gallbladder of rock bream. The morphological and ultrastructural characteristics of C. sparusaurati were investigated using light and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

최근 홈 네트워크 상에서 가전기기를 통합 제어하는 무선 통합 컨트롤러의 연구 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 근거리 무선망인 블루투스를 사용하며 가정 내에서 가전기기를 제어하는 블루투스 통합 컨트롤러를 설계하고 구현한다. 제안된 통합 컨트롤러는 사용자 관리 및 기기의 세부기능 제어를 위해 메신저 형식의 사용자 인터페이스로 설계한다 또한 블루투스의 SOP(Service Discovery Protocol)를 사용하여 댁내 가전기기를 위한 서비스를 동적 발견하고 관리한다.

웹 서비스는 소프트웨어 컴포넌트의 재사용 및 상호 운용을 지원하여 서비스의 통합을 가능케 하는 기술이다. 웹 서비스 기술을 이용하여 기존에 존재하는 서비스를 통합하여 새로운 서비스를 제공해주는 것이 가능하다. 서비스 조합을 위해 정확한 서비스 탐색은 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 서비스 조합을 효율적으로 제공하기 위해 오퍼레이션 중심의 시맨틱 웹 서비스 탐색 방법을 제안한다.

웹 서비스(web services)는 표준화된 XML 메시지를 통해 네트워크상에서 접근 가능한 연산들의 집합을 기술하는 인터페이스로 정의된다[1]. 이러한 웹 서비스는 크게 서비스 교환과 기술(description), 그리고 등록(registration)과 발견(discovery)이라는 개발 단계를 가지고 있으며, 각각의 단계에서 사용되어지는 기술에는 SOAP, WSDL, UDDI 등이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 서비스에 관한 정보를 저장하기 위해 개발된 UDDI 레지스트리에 웹 서비스에 관한 정보를 등록하고 검색/발견할 수 있도록 지원해주는 웹 서비스 등록/검색 도구의 기능들을 정의하고, 개발에 필요한 사항들을 기술한다.
