In this paper, to improve the accuracy of long sentence similarity calculation, we proposed a sentence similarity calculation method based on a system similarity function. The algorithm uses word2vector as the system elements to calculate the sentence similarity. The higher accuracy of our algorithm is derived from two characteristics: one is the negative effect of penalty item, and the other is that sentence similar function (SSF) based on word2vector similar elements doesn't satisfy the exchange rule. In later studies, we found the time complexity of our algorithm depends on the process of calculating similar elements, so we build an index of potentially similar elements when training the word vector process. Finally, the experimental results show that our algorithm has higher accuracy than the word mover's distance (WMD), and has the least query time of three calculation methods of SSF.

Sentence or text similarity is a measure of the degree of similarity between two sentences. Techniques for measuring text similarity include Jacquard similarity, cosine similarity, Euclidean similarity, and Manhattan similarity. Currently, the cosine similarity technique is most often used, but since this is an analysis according to the occurrence or frequency of a word in a sentence, the analysis on the semantic relationship is insufficient. Therefore, we try to improve the efficiency of analysis on the similarity of sentences by giving relations between words using ontology and including semantic similarity when extracting words that are commonly included in two sentences.
With the gradual increase of interest in plagiarism and intelligent file content search, the demand for similarity measuring between two sentences is increasing. There is a lot of researches for sentence similarity measurement methods in various directions such as n-gram, edit-distance and LSA. However, these methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we propose a new sentence similarity measurement method approaching from another direction. The proposed method uses the set-based POI data search that improves search performance compared to the existing hard matching method when data includes the inverse, omission, insertion and revision of characters. Using this method, we are able to measure the similarity between two sentences more accurately and more quickly. We modified the data loading and text search algorithm of the set-based POI data search. We also added a word operation algorithm and a similarity measure between two sentences expressed as a percentage. From the experimental results, we observe that our sentence similarity measurement method shows better performance than n-gram and the set-based POI data search.
In the document extraction summary study, various methods for selecting important sentences based on the relationship between sentences were proposed. In the Korean document summary using the summation similarity of sentences, the summation similarity of the sentences was regarded as the amount of sentence information, and the summary sentences were extracted by selecting important sentences based on this. However, the problem is that it does not take into account the various importance that each sentence contributes to the entire document. Therefore, in this study, we propose a document extraction summary method that provides a summary by selecting important sentences based on the amount of quantitative and semantic information in the sentence. As a result, the extracted sentence agreement was 58.56% and the ROUGE-L score was 34, which was superior to the method using only the combined similarity. Compared to the deep learning-based method, the extraction method is lighter, but the performance is similar. Through this, it was confirmed that the method of compressing information based on semantic similarity between sentences is an important approach in document extraction summary. In addition, based on the quickly extracted summary, the document generation summary step can be effectively performed.
This study is about a method of extracting a summary from a news article in consideration of the importance of each sentence constituting the article. We propose a method of calculating sentence importance by extracting the probabilities of topic sentence, similarity with article title and other sentences, and sentence position as characteristics that affect sentence importance. At this time, a hypothesis is established that the Topic Sentence will have a characteristic distinct from the general sentence, and a deep learning-based classification model is trained to obtain a topic sentence probability value for the input sentence. Also, using the pre-learned ELMo language model, the similarity between sentences is calculated based on the sentence vector value reflecting the context information and extracted as sentence characteristics. The topic sentence classification performance of the LSTM and BERT models was 93% accurate, 96.22% recall, and 89.5% precision, resulting in high analysis results. As a result of calculating the importance of each sentence by combining the extracted sentence characteristics, it was confirmed that the performance of extracting the topic sentence was improved by about 10% compared to the existing TextRank algorithm.

The similarity detecting method that is basically used in most plagiarism detecting systems is to use the frequency of shared words based on morphological analysis. However, this method has limitations on detecting accurate degree of similarity, especially when similar words concerning the same topics are used, sentences are partially separately excerpted, or postpositions and endings of words are similar. In order to overcome this problem, we have designed and implemented a plagiarism detecting system that provides more reliable similarity information by measuring sentence similarity and syntactic word similarity in addition to the conventional word similarity. We have carried out a comparison of on our system with a conventional system using only word similarity. The comparative experiment has shown that our system can detect plagiarized document that the conventional system can detect or cannot.
This paper proposes an automatic method to summarize Bangla news document. In the proposed approach, pronoun replacement is accomplished for the first time to minimize the dangling pronoun from summary. After replacing pronoun, sentences are ranked using term frequency, sentence frequency, numerical figures and title words. If two sentences have at least 60% cosine similarity, the frequency of the larger sentence is increased, and the smaller sentence is removed to eliminate redundancy. Moreover, the first sentence is included in summary always if it contains any title word. In Bangla text, numerical figures can be presented both in words and digits with a variety of forms. All these forms are identified to assess the importance of sentences. We have used the rule-based system in this approach with hidden Markov model and Markov chain model. To explore the rules, we have analyzed 3,000 Bangla news documents and studied some Bangla grammar books. A series of experiments are performed on 200 Bangla news documents and 600 summaries (3 summaries are for each document). The evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique over the four latest methods.

Clustering method which based on sentence type or document genre is a technique used to improve translation quality of SMT(statistical machine translation) by domain-specific translation. But there is no previous research using sentence type and document genre information simultaneously. In this paper, we suggest an integrated clustering method that classifying sentence type by syntactic structure similarity and document genre by word similarity information. We interpolated domain-specific models from clusters with general models to improve translation quality of SMT system. Kernel function and cosine measures are applied to calculate structural similarity and word similarity. With these similarities, we used machine learning algorithms similar to K-means to clustering. In Japanese-English patent translation corpus, we got 2.5% point relative improvements of translation quality at optimal case.
This study focuses on improving a word embedding model to enhance the performance of downstream tasks, such as those of dialog systems. To improve traditional word embedding models, such as skip-gram, it is critical to refine the word features and expand the context model. In this paper, we approach the word model from the perspective of subword embedding and attempt to extend the context model by integrating various sentence models. Our proposed sentence model is a subword-based skip-thought model that integrates self-attention and relative position encoding techniques. We also propose a clustering-based dialog model for downstream task verification and evaluate its relationship with the sentence-model-based subword embedding technique. The proposed subword embedding method produces better results than previous methods in evaluating word and sentence similarity. In addition, the downstream task verification, a clustering-based dialog system, demonstrates an improvement of up to 4.86% over the results of FastText in previous research.

The effects of the Case, Part of Speech, Word and Clause Location, Word Frequency etc. were studied in discriminating the similar sentences of the Korean text. Word Frequency was much related to the discrimination of similarity and Tilte word and Functional Clause were little, but the others were not. The cosine coefficient and Salton'similarity measurement are used to measure the similarity between sentences. The change of clauses between each sentence is also used to unify the similar sentences into a represenative sentence.
