USN응용과 범용목적에 적용가능한 센서 신호처리기 (Sensor signal processing device for USN application and general purpose)

  • In sensor signal conditioning and processing, offset and drift characteristics of an operational amplifier are an important factor when the amplifier is used for a precise sensor signal amplifier. In order to use it in high accuracy, an expensive trimming or a complex compensation circuit is required. This paper presents the improved sensor signal conditioning and processing device for ubiquitous sensor network(USN) application or general purpose by developing a hardware of the circuit for reducing the offset voltage and drift characteristics, and a software for its control and sensor signal processing. We realize better offset voltage and drift characteristics of the signal conditioning circuit using low cost operational amplifiers. The experimental results show that this technique is effective in improving the performance of the sensor signal processing device.

  • This paper introduces a resistance scanning-type flexible tactile sensor for intelligent robots and presents the output characteristics of the sensor via signal processing. The sensor was produced via the lamination method using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (a conductive material), an insulator, and Tango-plus (an elastic material). Analog and digital signal processing boards were produced to analyze the output signal of the sensor. The analog signal processing board was made up of an integrator and an amplifier for signal stability, and the digital signal processing board was made up of an IIR filter for noise removal. Finally, the sensor output for the contact force was confirmed through experiments.

  • This paper proposes the new multiple signal processing monitoring sensor for the marine installation. The recent marine technology is focused on underwater sensors and underwater sensor networks in order to measure, monitor, surveillance of and control of underwater environments. For these marine applications to be available, however, the provision of precise location information using monitoring sensor is essential. In this paper, the multiple signal processing circuit for obtaining the precise location information of marine installation sensor is developed and analyzed. The performance characteristics for obtaining the location information of marine installation sensor is analyzed. The theoretical and experimental studies have been carried out. The presented results from the above investigation show considerably excellent performance for the monitoring for the marine installation.

Collaborative Wireless Sensor Networks for Target Detection Based on the Generalized Approach to Signal Processing

  • Collaboration in wireless sensor networks must be fault-tolerant due to the harsh environmental conditions in which such networks can be deployed. This paper focuses on finding signal processing algorithms for collaborative target detection based on the generalized approach to signal processing in the presence of noise that are efficient in terms of communication cost, precision, accuracy, and number of faulty sensors tolerable in the wireless sensor network. Two algorithms, namely, value fusion and decision fusion constructed according to the generalized approach to signal processing in the presence of noise, are identified first. When comparing their performance and communication overhead, decision fusion is found to become superior to value fusion as the ratio of faulty sensors to fault free sensors increases. The use of the generalized approach to signal processing in the presence of noise under designing value and decision fusion algorithms in wireless sensor networks allows us to obtain the same performance, but at low values of signal energy, as under the employment of universally adopted signal processing algorithms widely used in practice.

  • The weld seam tracking sensor is indispensable to improve the flexibility of automatic arc welding systems. Among the position sensing methods available, a laser displacement sensor is one of the most prevailing methods. In this study, a laser displacement sensor was examined on detecting the weld seam of lap joints in sheet metal arc welding. The output signal of the laser displacement sensor may ontain severe fluctuation from the effect of arc light, spatters, fume, etc. So a variety of signal processing methods was applied to smooth the output signal of the sensor. And then the weld joint was determined by using the central difference method. It was revealed that the quadratic mean method plays an important role in detecting the weld seam during welding especially.

  • LSPR(Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance) sensor measures the refractive index change on the sensor surface. The detection of biological reaction with the unknown refractive index needs to be converted into the signal sensitivity for the refractive index change for comparison with other measurements. To find the signal sensitivity, the three steps of signal processing are proposed, which are signal modeling, signal calibration and signal normalization of LSPR sensor. The detected signal of biotin-streptavidin interaction has been converted into unit of [RU](Resonance Unit) using the proposed method. The converted signal directly can be compared with the other sensors including commercialized one.

  • An important signal processing problem in PVDF sensor is the restoration of surface information from electric sensing signals. The objectives of this research are to design a new texture sensing system and to develop a new signal processing algorithm for signals from the sensor to be tangibly displayed by tangible interface systems. The texture sensing system is designed to get surface information with high resolution and dynamic range. First, a PVDF sensor is made of piezoelectric polymer (polyvinylidene fluoride) strips molded in a silicon rubber and attached in a rigid cylinder body. The sensor is mounted to a scanning system for dynamic sensing. Secondly, a new signal processing algorithm is developed to restore surface information. The algorithm consists of the two-dimensional modeling of the sensor using an identification method and inverse filtering from sensing signals into estimated surface information. Finally the two-dimensional surface information can be experimentally reconstructed from sensing signals using the developed signal processing algorithm.

  • 표적 탐지 및 추적을 위한 무선 센서 네트워크에서 센서 노드는 다양한 신호처리 기능을 가져야 한다. 센서 노드의 에너지 제약과 통신 대역폭 제한은 센서 노드에서의 가벼운 신호처리 기법을 필요로 한다. 일반적인 센서 노드에서의 신호처리 기법은 센서 노드에 수신된 신호를 잡음제거와 같은 전처리를 수행하고, 에너지를 계산하여 표적의 위치를 탐지하고 기지국에서의 위치추정 및 식별을 위하여 특징 추출하거나 압축하여 전송하는 등의 방법으로 구성된다. 이러한 센서 노드에서 필수적인 신호처리 기법들은 무선 센서 네트워크의 생존 시간과 표적 탐지 및 식별 성능에 큰 영향을 끼치게 된다. 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크에서 센서 노드의 필수적인 신호처리들을 리프팅 스킴 웨이블릿 변환 방법을 이용하여 센서 노드에서 에너지 효율적인 신호처리를 수행하고 표적의 정확한 위치를 추정하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • The importance of sensing the force and torque with arbitrary direction and magnitude is becoming more crucial for robotic applications and manufacturing automations. Recently, several designs of a multi-axis force-torque sensor have been tried to sense this force and torque. This paper deals mainly with the signal processing of a six-axis force-torque sensor using cross-shaped elastic structures with circular holes. In this paper, we show principle of sensing force and torque, the signal processing methodology, and efficient methods of seeking strain gage positions in the sensor structure. The validity of the proposed method is shown via experiments.

  • This research is contents about output characteristic of optic current sensor that use faraday effect. optic current sensor used in an experiment is consisted of three parts.(1) Source of light used laser diode of 1310[nm].(2) Sensor section manufactured circularly according to gas insulated switchgear. And $9/125[{\mu}m]$ standard single mode optical fiber for communication was installed winding 20 [turn] on sensor section core surroundings of diameter 31 [cm].(3) Electrical signal of PD(Photo detector) is collected using NI company's 16bit DAQ board via terminal block. Collected data analyzed by different three signal processing methods. NI company's $Labview^{TM}$ was used to signal processing software. As a result, In signal processing of optic current sensor, we could know that noise greatly more influences the error generation than fluctuation of light intensity. also, 1 class CT(current transformer) manufacture that have error rate less than 1[%] was available by removing these
