In this paper, It does the profile measurement of the cam of diesel engine SOHC of the actual object. It uses the measurement of run-out method. This method is that the surface of the object is measured by the sensor when the object rotate, and calculated and displayed by the computer the signal which acquired by sensor. When we acquire the signals, we have two error because of motion and contacting between cam and probe. In this paper, we compensate the motion error while simply liner equation. And we have a solution that we change the figure of probe when we have a contacting error. We compared the data measuring on developed automatic cam profile measuring system with the data measured on CMM.
This paper presents an on-machine measurement method of flatness error fur surface machining processes. There are two kinds of on-machine measurement methods available to measure flatness errors in workpieces: i.e., surface scanning method and sensor scanning method. However, motion errors are often engaged in both methods. This paper proposes an idea to realize a measurement system of flatness errors and its rigorous application for estimation of motion errors of the positioning system. The measurement system is made by modifying the straightness measurement system, which consists of a laser, a CCD camera and processing system, a sensor head, and some optical units. The sensor head is composed of a retroreflector, a ball and ball socket, a linear motion guide unit and adjustable arms. The experimental .results show that the proposed method is useful to identify flatness errors of machined workpieces as well as motion errors of positioning systems.
The intensity modulated type (reflective method) optical fiber sensor is a well -known method and widely applied to the displacement measurements and other industrial purposes. This type sensor has the advantages of relatively cheap cost, small sensor size and easiness of operation. The sensitivity of the sensor is very dependent of several error terms; the variation in the intensity of the light source and the changes in the surface reflectivity of the object. An optical fiber coupled displacement probe with a new compensation method is presented in this paper. The proposed displacement sensor can measure the displacements of the target surface independent of surface reflectivity error that is caused by the materials and surface processing grade.
The Non-Contact Optical Sensor using the Hologram Laser for CD Pickup was developed to measure a shape of transparent objects and shown a good performance. Therefore the problems caused by the contact sensor are solved by using the Non-Contact Sensor. The Non-Contact Sensor has to move toward the objects and obtain the Focus Error Signal to measure a position of transparent objects. However, if the distance between the sensor and the object is shorter than the working distance of the objective lens, the sensor will be collided against the objects. In this paper we proposed a new algorithm to estimate the start position of the Focus Error Signal to solve the problems of collision between the sensor and the objects. In addition, we verified that the algorithm is free from the collision in the real time measurement.
In this work, attitude determination with Inertial Reference Unit as attitude sensor is considered. Usually, the attitude error from IRU increases because of gyro rate bias and noise. Therefore, other attitude sensors(sun sensor, horizon sensor, star tracker) are needed to compensate for error from IRU. In this paper, we use the extended Kalman filter for attitude estimation of spacecraft with IRU and star tracker.

Emerging applications with high data rates will need to transport bulk data reliably in wireless sensor networks. ARQ (Automatic Repeat request) or Forward Error Correction (FEC) code schemes can be used to provide reliable transmission in a sensor network. However, the naive ARQ approach drops the whole frame, even though there is a bit error in the frame and the FEC at the bit level scheme may require a highly complex method to adjust the amount of FEC redundancy. We propose a bulk data transmission scheme based on erasure-resilient code in this paper to overcome these inefficiencies. The sender fragments bulk data into many small blocks, encodes the blocks with LT codes and packages several such blocks into a frame. The receiver only drops the corrupted blocks (compared to the entire frame) and the original data can be reconstructed if sufficient error-free blocks are received. An incidental benefit is that the frame error rate (FER) becomes irrelevant to frame size (error recovery). A frame can therefore be sufficiently large to provide high utilization of the wireless channel bandwidth without sacrificing the effectiveness of error recovery. The scheme has been implemented as a new data link layer in TinyOS, and evaluated through experiments in a testbed of Zigbex motes. Results show single hop transmission throughput can be improved by at least 20% under typical wireless channel conditions. It also reduces the transmission time of a reasonable range of size files by more than 30%, compared to a frame ARQ scheme. The total number of bytes sent by all nodes in the multi-hop communication is reduced by more than 60% compared to the frame ARQ scheme.
