The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the biceps muscles activity at the different angle and direction of the base of support on sitting position in hemiplegic patients. The biceps muscles activity was measured at the $0^{\circ},\;10^{\circ}$ of posterior tilt, $10^{\circ}$ of anterior tilt, $10^{\circ}$ of affected side tilt and $10^{\circ}$ of sound side tilt of the base of support by EMG biofeedback (MYOMED 432. ENLAF NONIUS CO.) In this study, 24 out-patients were evaluated who were treated at Yonsei University Medical College Rhabilitation Hospital. This study was carried out from December 5. 1993 to March 30. 1994. In order to determine the statistical significance of result, the ANOVA, and t-test were applied at the 0.05 level of significance. The results were as follows : 1. The biceps muscles activity of the sound side was no significantly difference at the different angle and direction of the base of support on sitting position(p>0.05). 2. The biceps muscles activity of the affected side was significantly increased at the 100 of sound side tilt and $10^{\circ}$ of posterior tilt of the base of support on sitting position(p<0.05). 3. There was no significantly difference in the change of the biceps muscles activity of the affected side between the affected group and the intact group of propriocetive sense(p>0.05). 4. The change of the biceps muscles activity of the affected side was significantly higer in the group of G 2 spasticity compared to that of G 1, G 1+ spasticity(p<0.05). These results showed that the biceps muscles activity of affected side was significantly increased when the base of support was tilted toward the sounde side and posterior direction on sitting position. In order to prevent the increment of biceps muscle activity, the patients must avoid to sit toward sound side and posterior tilt.

Stochastic rainfall generators or stochastic simulation have been widely employed to generate synthetic rainfall sequences which can be used in hydrologic models as inputs. The calibration of Poisson cluster stochastic rainfall generator (e.g. Modified Bartlett-Lewis Rectangular Pulse, MBLRP) is seriously affected by local minima that is usually estimated from the local optimization algorithm. In this regard, global optimization techniques such as particle swarm optimization and shuffled complex evolution algorithm have been proposed to better estimate the parameters. Although the global search algorithm is designed to avoid the local minima, reliable parameter estimation of MBLRP model is not always feasible especially in a limited parameter space. In addition, uncertainty associated with parameters in the MBLRP rainfall generator has not been properly addressed yet. In this sense, this study aims to develop and test a Bayesian model based parameter estimation method for the MBLRP rainfall generator that allow us to derive the posterior distribution of the model parameters. It was found that the HBM based MBLRP model showed better performance in terms of reproducing rainfall statistic and underlying distribution of hourly rainfall series.
This paper presents a new approach to investigate spatial correlation between independent components of brain alpha activity in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). To avoid potential problems of simultaneous fMRI and EEG acquisitions in imaging pure alpha activity, data from each modality were acquired separately under a 'three conditions' setup where one of the conditions involved closing eyes and relaxing, thus making it conducive to generation of alpha activity. The other two conditions -- eyes open in a lighted room or engaged in a mental arithmetic task, were designed to attenuate alpha activity. Using a Mixture Density Independent Component Analysis (MD-ICA) that incorporates flexible non-linearity functions into the conventional ICA framework, we could identify the spatiotemporal components of fMRI activations and EEG activities associated with the alpha rhythm. Then, the sources of the individual EEG alpha activity component were localized by a Maximum Entropy (ME) method that is specially designed to find the most probable dipole distribution minimizing the localization error in sense of LMSE. The resulting active dipoles were spatially transformed to 3D MRls of the subject and compared to fMRI alpha activity maps. A good spatial correlation was found in the spatial distribution of alpha sources derived independently from fMRI and EEG, suggesting the proposed method can localize the cortical areas responsible for generating alpha activity successfully in either fMRI or EEG. Finally a functional connectivity analysis was applied to show that alpha activity sources of both modalities were also functionally connected to each other, implying that they are involved in performing a common function: 'the generation of alpha rhythms'.
This paper is concerned with the development of multi-action die or multiple sliding die for the forming process of serrated sheets. Serrated sheets is used as a toothed or serrated seal for securing together overlapping portions of steel or plastic strapping ligature and have been produced conventionally in several methods such as rolling and indentation. Recently, longitudinally oriented thermoplastic materials have been widely used in the strapping industry, while such materials are quite slippery. Provided projections on a seal biting into the strap should overcome the slipperiness and also the tooth configuration must be closely controlled to avoid too much transverse penetration of the strap which could result in the shredding of the strap when it is placed under tension. The seal includes a central portion with a plurality of teeth which bite into one strap portion and a pair of reversely bent legs with a plurality of teeth which bite into the other strap portion. Forming processes applicable for serrated sheets have reviewed in qualitative sense to find possibility in terms of applicability of one of existing processes to the serrated sheet forming process. Existing seal products have been analyzed with enlarged picture of strap contacting surface of the seal by microscope. Based on the analyses of the existing forming processes and seal products, a new forming process is proposed for serrated sheets. The proposed process requires a multislide die which enables inclined indentation or cut-in into the seal material as well as scratching processes sequentially in a single action press.

An inseparable challenge associated with every random access network is the design of an efficient Collision Resolution Algorithm (CRA), since collisions cannot be completely avoided in such network. To maximize the collision resolution efficiency of a popular CRA, namely Binary Exponential Backoff (BEB), we propose a reactive backoff algorithm. The proposed backoff algorithm is reactive in the sense that it updates the contention window based on the previously selected backoff value in the failed contention stage to avoid a typical type of collision, referred as cross-collision. Cross-collision would occur if the contention slot pointed by the currently selected backoff value appeared to be present in the overlapped portion of the adjacent (the previous and the current) windows. The proposed reactive algorithm contributes to significant performance improvements in the network since it offers a supplementary feature of Cross Collision Exclusion (XCE) and also retains the legacy collision mitigation features. We formulate a Markovian model to emulate the characteristics of the proposed algorithm. Based on the solution of the model, we then estimate the throughput and delay performances of WLAN following the signaling mechanisms of the Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) considering IEEE 802.11b system parameters. We validate the accuracy of the analytical performance estimation framework by comparing the analytically obtained results with the results that we obtain from the simulation experiments performed in ns-2. Through the rigorous analysis, based on the validated model, we show that the proposed reactive cross collision exclusionary backoff algorithm significantly enhances the throughput and reduces the average packet delay in the network.
The purpose of this study evaluated the hemo-dynamic information within 30 seconds clinically in 3D breast MRI. From January to March 2014, A total of 40 people were examined at 1.5 Tesla(Philips, Medical System, Achieva, The Netherlands) MRI equipments using 16 channel SENSE breast coil. The imaging parameters on vibrant are fellow as: $TR/TE/FA^{\circ}$/Matrix size/Slice thickness/Slab($5ms/2ms/10^{\circ}/180{\times}139{\times}2mm/80$). This study used a Gadovist and injected it with injection speed of 4 ml /sec by auto injector with 15 ml saline flushing. Firstly, for the delay time study, it divided three different delay time from immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds. In quantitative analysis, the ROI signal intensities of tumor and surrounding tissues were measured retrospectively. In qualitative analysis, the image quality was scored from 1 to 5 point by one experienced radiological technologists as a visual test. The significance level of each delay time was evaluated with a one-way ANOVA(p<0.05). In the visual test, score levels on 30 seconds delay time was a little bit higher than others(p<0.05). The signal intensity of the tumor were $1445{\pm}360$, $1410{\pm}320$, $1510{\pm}415$ on immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds and score levels were $4.18{\pm}0.85$, $3.54{\pm}0.94$, $4.45{\pm}0.74$(p<0.05). The data on immediate images showed better results than that others(p<0.05). Conclusively, Although it has been high scored in 30sec delay time for visual test in order to avoid failure in 20second, 30seconds delay time after contrast media administration, we recommend that the DCE 3D breast MRI commence immediately.
This article does not deal with a theory or theories in the usual sense of the term but rather harks back to its etymological source, theorein ' to look at.' The phrase 'theory of language' thus purports a 'view of language' and does not carry the force of scientific explication of language. In fact, the word ' scientific' or 'science' per se originates from scire 'to know' and is here to be considered not so much in regard to some kind of positivistic methodology as a form of knowledge. If this exposition sounds unduly ingenious, that is because one is caught up in all kinds of presuppositions about the words under consideration. Sometimes, when we come to grips with an issue that strikes our mind as truly important, our language, by the light of which we hope to proceed safely, plays the will-o'-the-wisp instead and leaves us in the middle of a murky maze, twisting what was at first blush a mere cinch into a Gordian knot. On such occasions, etymology comes along the way and sends us back to itself as its own principle: Resort to etymos logos 'original, true word'! The main thrust of the present study is that alongside the quantitative, positivistic thought there is another equally valuable mode of qualitative and humanistic thinking that makes a whole gamut of new and concrete investigations possible, that an integrated theory of language is Possible by way of a happy amalgamation of diversified, humanistic views of language. With this idea as the leitmotif we explore two models of theory which typically set themselves up for a 'scientific' approach to language: analytic philosophy that delves into what it calls logical simples, and contemporary linguistics that stubbornly teeters around some formal rigor or other. It is argued that they are both characterized by a looking away from the fluid, ill-definable aspects of language, giving a preference to segments and isolated facts as a means to avoid those larger wholes and totalities which if they had to be seen would in the long run lead to an uncomfortable state of mind. Language, in the final analysis, is a Protean entity: so capricious and multifarious, and yet so noetic and prophetic, that we should catch sight of its picturesque images in their entirety to give form to an integrated theory of language.
The purpose of this study is to examine determinant to purchase decisions by consumers using the home shopping of cable TV. For the purpose accomplishment, this researcher surveyed demographic characteristics of cable TV users to determine what differences in types of goods purchased by the users were made in accordance with the characteristics. Findings from the study may be reflected in bisiness policies seeking the fulfillment of consumer needs, and be used as a basic information for the establishment of consumer policies pursuing increased qualities of consumption life by providing information on goods shown through the of home shopping on cable TV. The result of the study can be summarized as follow. First, purchased goods were greatly different in their types depending on demographic characteristics of consumers such as gender, marital status, age, educational backgrounds, income and jobs. Second, experiential characteristics of cable TV users including holding or non-holding credit cards, main channels used, the main time of watching cable TV and purchase frequency per year contributed to differences in types of purchased goods. Third, factors influencing purchase decisions were somewhat different according to types of goods. However, previous purchase experiences were most influential irrespective of the types. The result as described so far suggests that previous purchase experiences by consumers raised their chances of repurchase by removing possible risks perceived by consumers. Based on the result as above, the researcher would make the following conclusion. First. companies operating the of home shopping on cable TV should increase satisfaction by consumers by providing reliable goods and information to them. In this sense, those companies need to establish marketing strategies that vary according to demographic characteristics of consumers and at the same time provide product information necessary for fulfilling consumers' requirements. Second, consumers should be moderate in the use of credit cards to avoid unplanned purchases via home shopping on cable TV and have some knowledge to solve problems related to goods and to the use of credit cards.

The primary purpose of this study was to describe psychological aspects of menopausal women who have experiences on alternative therapies, such as pomegranate tree fluid, life pack, evening primerose, zacro syrup, zacro pill, multi-vitamin, oriental medicine instead of estrogen. In order to have insights on the participants behaviors, this qualitative research was conducted. The participants in this study were six women who have been taking at least one of the alternative therapies to relieve the menopausal symptom. Data had been collected from November 2002 to May 2003. The interview questions were about motivations to seek the alternative therapy, menopausal symptoms, feelings or positive effects after the treatment. The interviews were recorded and transcribed into written documents. The method described by Giorgi was utilized for data analysis. The study results were as follows : 1. The participants sought the alternative therapy based on their own information or by friends' recommendations. The motivations of taking the therapy were to live younger and healthier by reliving menopausal symptoms including somatic symptoms, such as irregular menstruation, flushing sense, cold sweating, insomnia, dull headache, vagina dryness, cystitis after sexual intercourse, joint pain, nervousness, depression, skin dryness, and suppression of activity. 2. The participants expressed that they became more active and felt better with disappearing menopausal symptoms after about 2 to 3 weeks treatment. 3. The participants did not want to accept the fact that they had menopause, which caused avoidance of having medical diagnosis and medical treatment. They also did not want to let their spouses know about their symptoms. 4. The major reason of taking the alternative therapy was to avoid the side effects of estrogen therapy in spite of high costs of the alternative way. 5. The participants suggested that menopausal women needed to be educated about physical and psychological symptoms of menopause. They also needed to be informed about how to manage it. In conclusion, accurate information about foods and drugs utilized for the alternative therapy was needed. Medically proved methods to recognize positive effects and side effects were also necessary. These goals could be achieved by continuous medical observations and further research.

In VANET(Vheicle Ad hoc Network), the researches based on the wireless LAN are conducting and the method based on 802.11a is being adapted in IEEE 802.11p WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments). However, wireless LAN which uses a single channel in a competition can cause transmission delays because of a frequent collision and a use of CSMA/CA to avoid competition in VANET requiring a fast access. In this paper, we designed CMMP (Clustering based Multi-channel MAC protocol) adequate to VANET and then confirmed the appropriate channel conditions in a V2V communication on the basis of this protocol. The simulation results showed that a packet collision and a transmission delay by the use of an existing single channel based on the contention decreased more than 60% by CMMP.
