Benzaldehyde와 Semicarbazide의 결합에 미치는 pH치의 영향 (The Effect of pH on the Condensation Reaction of Benzaldehyde and Semicarbazide)

  • Like the condensation reaction of general aldehyde, that of benzaldehyde with semicarbazide also depends upon the concentration of carbonium ion that is produced by hydrogen ion. The lower pH value is the facility of the formation of carbonium ion in the condensation reaction, while the reactivity of semicarbazide as a reactant is reduced. In this paper, therefore we want to find out the optimum pH value in the condensation reaction of benzaldehyde with semicarbazide. This optimum pH value was determined by using the simple paper-chromatographic method. According to the result of this experiment, the condensation reaction between benzaldehyde and semicarbazide reacts with its highest point at 3.5pH value. It seems clear that at this point the benzaldehyde acquires the most suitable amount of carbonium ion for the condensation reaction with semicarbazide, and the semicarbazide also has the optimum reactivity.

  • Mycobacterium sp. strain JC1 was capable of growth on benzylamine as a sole source of carbon and energy. The primary deamination of benzylamine was mediated by an inducible amine oxidase, which can also oxidize tyramine, histamine, and dopamine. Inhibitor study identified this enzyme as a copper-containing amine oxidase sensitive to semicarbazide.

  • 새로운 종류의 히드라존 유도체는 4-(2-chloroethyl) semicarbazides로 부터 합성되었고, 인간 두 뇌(U251)와 간(Hepg2)의 암세포 에 대해 항증식성을 보였다. 히드라존 화합물은 벤즈알데히드, 아세토 페논, 3-formylindole 유도체이다. 아세토페논 유도체중에 3e (p-methoxy substituted)와 and 3f (p-nitro substituted)는 Hepg2 세포 (각각I$C_{50}$ = 6 ,8 $\mu$g/mL) 에 대해 가장 높은 세포독성활성을 보인다. 3-Formylindole 유도체중에 4a (hydrazone of 3-formylindole)은 U251 (I$C_{50}$ = 21 $\mu$g/mL)와 Hepg2 (I$C_{50}$ = 7 $\mu$g/mL)에 강한 세포독성활성을 보인다.

식품병마개 PVC gasket과 식품에 함유된 semicarbazide의 분석 (Determination of Semicarbazide in PVC Gaskets of Food Bottle Cap and Foods)

  • 본 연구는 식품병마개 PVC 가스켓과 식품에 함유된 SEM을 효과적으로 분석하기 위해 연구했다. SEM은 발포제로 사용되는 ADC의 열분해산물로 알려졌다. 그러나 SEM은 분자량이 낮으며 ultraviolet light나 fluorescence에 활성을 갖지 않는다. 따라서 2-NBA-SEM으로 유도체화하여 HPLC triple column system으로 분석했을 때 상관관계는 0.9997이상이며 검출한계는 0.48ng/g으로 나타났다. 식품병마개 PVC 가스켓에서 SEM의 검출율은 77.08%로 나타났으며, 유통중인 병마개 PVC 가스켓에서 SEM은 812.20-5771.30ng/g 수준이였다. 그리고 회수율은 PVC 가스켓과 식품에서 각각 92.12-98.71%와 83.45-97.33%로 측정되었다.

  • Arylhydrazones of diethylacetondicarboxylate 3 was treated with formaldehyde to give 1 aryl-4, 5, 6-trihydropyridaine derivatives 4a-f Cyclization of compound 4a-f by hydroxylamine afforded [3, 4d] 1, 3, 4, 5-tetrahydropyridazine derivatives 5a-f. Also cyclization of compound 4c with semicarbazide gave 1-amidopyrazolo-5-one-1-aryl-3-carboxypyridazine 6. On the other hand compounds 3 reacted with ethylorthoformate to give diethyl-1, 4-dihydro-1-arylpyridazine-4one-2.5 dicarboxylate 7, which on treatment with hydrazine. Semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide gave pyridazine, amido and thioamido derivatives. The spectral and antimicrobial data of these compounds 1-8 were studied.

  • A series of compounds containing both 1,3,4-oxadiazole and thiohydantoin were synthesized as a promising scaffold for application in medicinal chemistry. The key step of the synthesis is a microwave-assisted cyclization of semicarbazides possessing a thiohydantoin moiety at one of the acyl termini using $POCl_3$ as a dehydrating reagent. A wide range of semicarbazides were prepared through the substitution of hydrazides with an N-acylated thiohydantoin derived from the cyclization of the corresponding isothiocyanate with an amino acid and subsequent N-acylation of the resultant thiohydrantion. Consequently, the 58 number of 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives having a thiohydantoin substituent were prepared in good overall yields.

  • A new series of pyridazine, pyrazoles, pyrazolidine-3,5-dione, Semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazides, hydantoin, thiohydantoins, 1,2,4-triazoles, S-triazolo[3,4-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazoles incorporated indirectly into salicylamide moiety at position 2 were synthesized. Also the synthesis of novel series of 3-salicylamido-2-hydroxypropyl-amino derivatives were prepared. Several of these compounds were screened for antiinflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and ulcerogenic activities.

  • Inhibiting action of semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide, sym. diphenylcarbazide towards corrosion of zinc in hydrochloric acid has been investigated. The rate of corrosion depends on the nature of the inhibitor and its concentration. The values of inhibition efficiency from, weight loss, thermometric measurements are in good agreement with those obtained from polarization studies. From the polarization studies, the inhibitors used act as mixed absorption type inhibitors, increased adsorption resulting from an increase in the electron density at the reactive C=S and C=O groups and N-atoms. The thermodynamic parameters of adsorption obtained using Bockris-Swinkels adsorption isotherm reveal a strong interaction of these carbazides on zinc surface.

Effects of Blowing and Nucleating Agents on the Foaming Properties of Nylon 6

  • To reduce the weight of the engineering plastic Nylon 6 resin, two high-temperature foaming agents, p-toluenesulfonyl semicarbazide (PTSS) and 5-phenyltetrazole (5-PT) (0-10 phr), were added and foamed without other additives. We investigated the effects of the foaming agent type and content on the foam density (g/cm3) and percent weight reduction rate of the Nylon 6 foam, and 5-PT exhibited better foaming performance than PTSS. In the case of 5-PT, the weight reduction rate was above 36% when the blowing agent content was 1.5 phr or higher, indicating that 5-PT is an effective blowing agent for reducing the Nylon 6 foam weight. Additionally, we studied the effect of the nucleating agent Talc content (0-0.4 phr) on Nylon 6 foaming, and the nucleating agent Talc considerably reduced foaming.
