수직 충격률에 따른 척추 경막 단면적 변화 해석 (Analysis of Dural-sac Cross Sectional Area Changes According to Vertical Impact rate)

  • 한 개 척추 운동 분절에 대한 유한요소 모델을 이용하여 수직 충격력이 가해질 경우 발생되는 척추 경막의 교합을 해석 하였다. 교합은 수직 충격력의 지속 시간 변화에 따른 골편의 이동으로 인한 척추 경막의 단면적 변화를 계산하여 계량화 하였다. 계산 결과 8∼12ms 의 충격 지속 시간에서 골편의 이동으로 인한 가장 큰 척추 경막의 단면적 변화가 나타났으며 $\Delta$t = 400 ms의 경우에서는 4%만의 척추 경막의 단면적 변화가 나타났다, 이와 같은 해석 결과는 6kN의 수직 정 하중이 가해질 경우에 발생되는 량이 유사한 값으로 이 정도의 충격 지속 시간은 준 정 하중 상태와 유사함을 보이고 있었다.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between cross-sectional areas of the paraspinal and psoas muscles with low back pain. Methods : We assessed the cross-sectional area of the psoas and paraspinal muscles at the superior part of L4 level and vertebral body of L4 of 132 patients who were hospitalized with a chief complaint of low back pain at Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine from January 2013 to April 2013. After calculating the mean psoas area, we divided the patients into 2 groups by whether the psoas cross section was larger or smaller than the mean, and compared the admission period, verbal numeric rating scale(NRS) of low back pain(LBP), and improvement of verbal NRS of LBP. We also subcategorized the patients into acute and chronic groups according to the duration period, and compared the cross-sectional area of the psoas and paraspinal muscles. Results : Although analyses of the verbal NRS of LBP, and improvement of verbal NRS of LBP between groups with larger and smaller psoas cross section areas showed no significant difference, the admission period was significantly shorter in the group with larger psoas cross section areas. There was no significant difference in analyses of cross section areas in the acute and chronic groups. Of the possible prognostic variables, improvement of verbal NRS of LBP showed no correlation, while the admission period displayed a significant correlation. The cross-sectional area of the psoas and paraspinal muscles divided by the area of the vertebral body of L4 had a significant negative correlation with age. Conclusions : The cross-sectional area of the psoas and paraspinal muscles were correlated with the admission period in LBP patients, and the cross-sectional area of the surrounding muscles divided by the area of the L4 vertebral body was negatively correlated with age.

  • High-Tc superconducting current leads with multi-step and continually varied cross-sectional area are studied to reduce heat leak into cryostat and material use. Assuming conduction-cooled lead the cross-sectional area is reduced along the heat flow direction according to the increase of critical current density which increases with decreasing temperature. In this study, we also analyze the multi-step cross-sectional area High-Tc current leads. The multi-st데 current leads changes the cross-sectional area to have constant safety-factor at changed section. The heat leak into cryostat, total voume, safety-factor and the temperature profiles are compared to those of the constant safety-factor current leads. The developed methods are applied to the Bi-2223 superconductor sheathed with Ag-Au alloy.

저강도 격일 운동과 매일 운동이 쥐 뒷다리근에 미치는 근 비대 효과 비교 (Comparison of Hypertrophic Effects of Low-Intensity Exercise on Rat Hindlimb Muscles between Every Other Day Exercise and Everyday Exercise)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the hypertrophic effects of low-intensity exercise on weight, myofibrillar protein content and Type I, II fiber cross-sectional area of hindlimb muscles of rats between every other day exercise and every day exercise. Methods: Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to 1 of 3 groups: control group (C, n=6), experimental group 1 (E1, n=7) and experimental group 2 (E2, n=7). Rats in E1 group had 7 sessions (every other day) and those in E2 group had 14 sessions (every day) of exercise in which they ran on a treadmill for 30 min/day at 10 m/min. Results: Muscle weight, cross-sectional area of type I fiber and myofibrillar protein content of soleus and myofibrillar protein content of plantaris in E1 group, and myofibrillar protein content of soleus and cross-sectional area of type I fiber of plantaris in E2 group were greater than those in C group. Cross-sectional area of type I fiber of soleus of E1 group was higher than E2 group while cross-sectional area of type I fiber of plantaris of E2 group was higher than E1 group. Conclusion: Hypertrophy of hindlimb muscles occurs from every other day exercise similar to every day exercise.

구조용 합성섬유의 형상 및 단면적 변호에 따른 부착 및 휨 성능 (Pullout and Flexural Performance of Structural Synthetic Fibers by Geometry and Sectional Area Change)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 부착실험 및 휨실험을 실시하여 구조용 합성섬유의 단면적 및 표면형상의 변화에 따른 부착성능과 휨성능을 평가하는 것이다. 6가지 다른 형상의 구조용 합성섬유를 조사하였고 부착 및 휨실험을 수행하였다. 6가지 형상의 구조용 합성섬유를 조사하였고 휨시험과 부착시험을 실시하였다. 실험변수는 3가지 종류의 형상과 2가지 종류의 단면적 변화로 하였다. 실험결과 구조용 합성섬유의 단면적이 동일할 때 주기 및 높이가 증가할수록 부착하중 및 인발 파괴 에너지는 감소하고 휨강도는 증가하였다. 또한 주기 및 높이가 일정할 섬유의 단면적이 증가할수록 인발하중과 인발 파괴 에너지는 증가하였고 휨강도는 감소하였다. 실험결과를 기본으로하여 콘크리트의 구조성능은 섬유의 부착성능 뿐만 아니라 콘크리트에 혼입되어 있는 섬유의 수, 인장하중에 저항할 수 있는 섬유의 재료특성 등에 복합적으로 영향을 받는 다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

요추 부위 인체역학 모델을 위한 한국인 몸통 근육의 생리학적 단면적 추정 회귀 모델 (Regression Models Predicting Trunk Muscles' PCSAs of Korean People)

  • This study quantified 7 trunk muscles' physiological cross-sectional areas (PCSAs) and developed prediction equations for the physiological cross-sectional area as a function of anthropometic variables for Korean people. Nine females and nine males were participated in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans approximately from S1 through T8. Muscle fiber angle corrected cross-sectional areas (anatomical cross sectional areas: ACSAs) were recorded at each vertebral level and maximum value of ACSAs were determined as physiological cross sectional area (PCSA). There was a significant gender difference in PCSAs of all muscles (p<0.05). Stepwise linear regression techniques using anthropometric measures (e.g., height, weight, trunk depths and widths) as independent variables were conducted to develop prediction equations for the PCSA for each muscle. For males, six muscles' significant prediction equations (p<0.05) were developed except quadratus lumborum. For females, three prediction equations were developed for psoas, quadratus lumborum, and erector spinae muscles (p<0.05).

한국인의 연령별 기관 내경 및 단면적 분포에 대한 분석 -흉부전산화단층촬영을 이용한 측정- (Analysis of Age-related Distribution of the Tracheal Diameter and Cross-sectional Area Among Koreans -Compuerized Tomographic Measurement-)

  • 서론: 성장기에서 기관의 성장양상에 관한 이해는 수많은 기관질병의 관리나 선천성 기관협착증에서 기관 성형술 등에서 매우 중요한 지표가 된다. 그러나 이에 관한 국내의 연구례가 거의없는 실정이다. 본 연구는 한국인 소아에서 기관의 내경과 단면적을 후향적으로 분석하여 기관질환의 치료에 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 1996년 5월부터 1998년 8월까지 흉부전산화 단층촬영을 시행한 0세부터 20세까지 106명의 환자를 대상으로 하였는데 기관의 내경이나 단면적에 영향을 줄 수 있는 기관질환, 과거에 개흉술을 받은 경우, 종격동 종양, 폐쇄성 폐질환이 있는 경우는 본 연구에서 제외시켰다. 남자가 69명, 여자가 37명이었으며 기관의 종단내경과 횡단내경은 흉부유입부와 대동맥궁 부위에서 각각 측정하였다. 기관의 형태는 각 부위의 단면에서 원형, 타원형, 말발굽형으로 구분하였으며 단면적은 A = 1/4$\pi$ab (A: 단면적, $\pi$: 3.14, a: 종단내경, b: 횡단내경)의 공식으로 계산하여 각 부위의 내경과 연령 및 성별에 따른 단면적을 비교 분석하였다. 통계처리에서 p값이 0.05이하일 때 통계적 의미가 있는 것으로 간주하였다. 결과: 5세이하에서는 level I과 II 모두에서 기관의 형태가 원형을 이루고 있었으며 두 부위간의 단면적의 차이는 없었다. 성장함에 따라 level I의 형태는 타원형으로 변해가는 반면 level II에서는 그대로 원형을 유지하고 있었으며 level I의 단면적이 level II 보다 크다(p=0.020). 기관의 내경과 단면적은 성장함에 따라 직선관계로 증가한다는 것이 확인되었고(r>0.9), 5세이하의 소아에서는 여자가 남자보다 기관의 단면적이 크고 (p=0.020) 15세가 넘으면 반대로 남자가 더 크다 (p=0.002). 결론: 이상의 결과에서 흉부전산화 단층촬영은 기관의 내경과 단면적을 측정하는데 있어 안전하고 확실한 방법이며 성장기의 한국인에서 기관의 내경과 단면적에 대한 지표가 되고자 한다.

자기공명영상을 이용한 근육 단면적 측정법의 활용을 위한 영상왜곡보정 (Distortion Correction in Magnetic Resonance Images on the Measurement of Muscle Cross-sectional Area)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the importance of the image distortion correction in the cross sectional area measurement for the iliopsas muscle, tensor fasciae latae muscle, gluteus maximus muscle and the knee extensor muscles, by using (magnetic resonance imaging) MRI. Methods: This study was performed using an open 0.32T MRI system. To estimate the image distortion, T1 images for an AAPM homogeneity/linearity phantom were acquired, and the region in which the maximum geometric distortion was less than or equal to the pixel size (1.6 mm) of the images, it was defined as the distortion correction-free region. The T2 images for a human subject's pelvis and thigh in normal positions were obtained. Then, after the regions of interest in the pelvis and thigh were moved into the distortion correction-free region, T2 images for the pelvis and thigh were scanned with the same imaging parameters used in the previous T2 imaging. The cross-sectional areas were measured in the two T2 images that were obtained in the normal position, and the distortion correction-free region, as well as the area error caused by geometric image distortion was calculated. Results: The geometrical distortion is gradually increased, from the magnet center to the outer region, in axial and coronal plane. The cross-sectional area error of gluteus maximus muscle and the knee extensors was as high as 9.27% and 3.16% in before and after distortion correction, respectively. Conclusion: The cross-sectional area of the muscles that suffered from the geometrical distortion is necessary to correct for the estimation of the intervention.

MRI 보어 구경에 따른 검사 시 실효 단면적 분석 (Analysis of Actual Cross-Sectional Area During Scanning According to MRI Bore Size)

  • In this study, we tried to quantify the actual cross-sectional area inside the bore when scanning by the MRI system with various bore sizes. To this end, a comparative analysis was conducted by both of blueprint of each MRI equipment and actual measurement in the field. As a result of analysis, ACSA(Actual Cross-Sectional Area) in Ingenia CX, Elition X, uMR 780, Omega, Vida, Lumina, Architect, Premier is recorded as 171230, 232150, 242100, 309332, 230760, 230760, 229380 and 235990 ㎟, respectively ACSA% was 60.6, 60.3, 73.0, 70.0, 60.0, 60.0, 59.6, and 61,3%. In addition, DTB (Distance from Table top to Bore top) recorded 400, 407, 445, 495, 405, 405, 405, 403, and 412 mm. Through this study, it was confirmed that there is a difference between the bore size according to each MRI system and the actual cross-sectional area during MRI scanning. Accordingly, if we consider the internal actual area just not bore size at the clinical site, useful diagnostic images can be obtained in the end with better convenience.

VOB를 이용한 선형 설계 실용화에 대한 연구 (Practical Hull Form Design using VOB)

  • In general, ship hull form design is carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the longitudinal variation of the sectional area curves is adapted from a similar mother ship to determine the volume distribution in ships. At this design stage, the initial design conditions of displacement, longitudinal center of buoyancy, etc. are satisfied and the global hydrodynamic properties of the structure are optimized. The second stage includes the local designing of the sectional forms. Sectional forms are related to the local pressure resistance in the fore- and aft-body shapes, cargo boundaries, interaction between the hull and propeller, etc. These relationships indicate that the hull sections need to be optimized in order to minimize the local resistance. The volumetric balanced (VOB) variation of ship hull forms has been suggested by Kim (2013) as a generalized, systematic variation method for determining the sectional area curves in hull form design. This method is characterized by form parameters and is based on an optimization technique. This paper emphasizes on an extensional function of the VOB considering a geometrical wave profile. We select a container ship and an LNG carrier to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed technique. Through analysis, we confirm that the VOB method, considering the geometrical wave profile, can be used as an efficient tool in the hull form design for ships.
