  • Transections of the stem region close to the shoot apex show the occurrence of an outer, complete ring of procambium and an inner group of discrete procambial strands. From the outer ring, small, discrete vascular bundles and vascular cambium originate, while the inner group forms the discrete, medullary vascular bundles with intrafascicular cambium. Secondary thickening is essentially due to the activity of the cylinder or complete ring of vascular cambium that originates from the procambium. The medullary intrafascicular cambia also form some secondary tissues. The vascular cambium produces secondary xylem inwards and secondary phloem outwards as in the normal secondary thickening process. The distinctive feature, however, is perpetual discreteness of the medullary vascular bundles. No successive series of cambia or secondary vascular bundles are found.

  • Most of faults occurred in transmission lines are single-phase to ground faults and transient faults. Single-phase auto reclosing is an appropriate scheme to maintain the system stability and restore the system effectively when those faults are occurred. In single-phase auto reclosing scheme, the secondary arc is generated after faulted phase is tripped to eliminate the fault and it is sustained by the capacitive and inductive coupling to the healthy phases. It is important to reclose the faulted phase after fully extinction of secondary arc because of the damage applied to system. Therefore, it is necessary to research on the detection of secondary arc extinction to ensure high success rate of reclosing. In this step, firstly, the accurate modelling of secondary arc should be performed. In this paper, the modelling of secondary arc is performed by using EMTP-RV and the simulation results show that the implemented model is correct and effective.

  • The Cognitive radio (CR) is evolving technology for managing the spectrum bandwidth in wireless network. The security plays a vital role in wireless network where the secondary users are trying to access the primary user's bandwidth. During the allocation the any malicious user either he pretends to be primary user or secondary user to access the vital information's such as credentials, hacking the key, network jam, user overlapping etc. This research paper discusses on various types of attack and to prevent the attack in cognitive radio network. In this research, secondary users are identified by the primary user to access the primary network by the secondary users. The secondary users are given authorization to access the primary network. If any secondary user fails to provide the authorization, then that user will be treated as the malicious user. In this paper two approaches are suggested one by applying elliptic curve cryptography and the other method by using priority-based service access.

  • Kuo et al proposed an on-line method for an adaptive prediction error filter for improving secondary path modeling performance in the modeling method of the secondary path. This method have some disadvantages, namely having to use additive noise with the result that noise control performance is not good since it is focused on the estimated performance of the secondary path. In this paper, we proposes a modified Kuo model using gain control parameter and delay. It uses a reference signal for additive noise to improve the problems in the existing Kuo model.

  • A study on the decreasing method of secondary arc current on single phase reclosing. One of the major problem in case of using the single phase reclosing scheme for long distance UHV transmission line is the time required to deionize secondary arc current. This paper descritbes the way of inducing the formular of secondary arc current originated at the times of opening and closing the ground interrupting switch. The result was investigated by the method of numerical analysis and proved that the secondary arc current was decreasing sufficiently. Application of this method proposed by the authod makes it possible to deduce the dead time and to improve success-rate of reclosing.

  • In this paper, induced voltages of the secondary conductors of a linear induction motor(LIM) with cage-type secondary are measured and analyzed when the LIM is fed by PWM inverter. The attenuation constant of the induced voltage of the secondary conductors near entry and exit zones of the the travelling magnetic field are determined from the experiment results.

  • Centrifugal pump shows the strongest secondary flow. Wake is formed near pressure surface close to hub at impeller exit for centrifugal pump impeller. Pressure gradient drives secondary flow in the inducer region, while in the remaining region the following sources drive together: > Pressure gradient > Coriolis force Low-momentum fluid near suction surface hub moves toward pressure surface hub in mixed-flow pump impeller. Tip leakage vortex dominate secondary flow in axial-flow pump impeller. Tip leakage vortex dominate secondary flow in axial-flow in axial-flow pump impeller

  • The micelle formation of NaDC was studied by fluorometric and viscometric measurements. The thermodynamic parameters of the primary and secondary micellization of the bile salt were evaluated. The primary micelle formation was appeared to be an entropy driven process due to hydrophobic effect, while the major driving force for secondary micelle formation of the bile salt is the large negative enthalpy. The secondary micelle provides less hydrophobic environment to pyrene than the primary micelle does. The cooperative aggregation of primary micelles via hvdrogen bond formation was proposed for the secondary micelle formation.

  • Coupling capacitor voltage transformers(CCVTs) have been used in extra or ultra high voltage systems to obtain the standard low voltage signal for protection and measurement. For fast suppression of the phenomenon of ferroresonance, three winding CCVTs are used instead of two winding CCVTs. A tuning reactor is connected between a capacitor voltage divider and a voltage transformer to reduce the phase angle difference between the primary and secondary voltages in the steady state. Slight distortion of the secondary voltage is generated when no fault occurs. However, when a fault occurs, the secondary voltage of the CCVT has significant errors due to the transient components such as dc offset component and/or high frequency components resulting from the fault. This paper proposes an algorithm for compensating the secondary voltage of a three winding CCVT in the time domain. With the values of the measured secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT, the secondary, tertiary and primary currents and voltages are estimated; then the voltages across the capacitor and the tuning reactor are calculated and then added to the measured voltage. Test results indicate that the algorithm can successfully compensate the distorted secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT irrespective of the fault distance, the fault impedance and the fault inception angle as well as in the steady state.
