The study uses a seasonal ARIMA model to forecast the number of tourists of Yeongdeok in an uni-variable time series. The monthly data for time series were collected ranging from 2006 to 2011 with some variation between on-season and off-season tourists in Yeongdeok county. A total of 72 observations were used for data analysis. The forecast multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,0,0)$(0,1,1)_{12}$ model was found the most appropriate one. Results showed that the number of tourists was 10,974 thousands in 2012 and 13,465 thousands in 2013, It was suggested that the grasping forecast model is very important in respect of how experts in tourism development in Yeongdeok county, policy makers or planners would establish strategies to allocate service in Yeongdeok tourist destination and provide tourism facilities efficiently.
Electricity price prediction plays a crucial part in making the schedule and managing the risk to the competitive electricity market participants. However, it is a difficult and challenging task owing to the characteristics of the nonlinearity, non-stationarity and uncertainty of the price series. This study proposes a hybrid improved strategy which incorporates data preprocessor components and a forecasting engine component to enhance the forecasting accuracy of the electricity price. In the developed forecasting procedure, the Seasonal Adjustment (SA) method and the Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) technique are synthesized as the data preprocessing component; the Coupled Simulated Annealing (CSA) optimization method and the Least Square Support Vector Regression (LSSVR) algorithm construct the prediction engine. The proposed hybrid approach is verified with electricity price data sampled from the power market of New South Wales in Australia. The simulation outcome manifests that the proposed hybrid approach obtains the observable improvement in the forecasting accuracy compared with other approaches, which suggests that the proposed combinational approach occupies preferable predication ability and enough precision.
This paper introduces a novel approach to time-series estimation for energy load forecasting within Virtual Power Plant (VPP) systems, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, namely Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA). Virtual power plants, which integrate diverse microgrids managed by Energy Management Systems (EMS), require precise forecasting techniques to balance energy supply and demand efficiently. The paper introduces a hybrid-method forecasting model combining a parametric-based statistical technique and an AI algorithm. The LSTM algorithm is particularly employed to discern pattern correlations over fixed intervals, crucial for predicting accurate future energy loads. SARIMA is applied to generate time-series forecasts, accounting for non-stationary and seasonal variations. The forecasting model incorporates a broad spectrum of distributed energy resources, including renewable energy sources and conventional power plants. Data spanning a decade, sourced from the Korea Power Exchange (KPX) Electrical Power Statistical Information System (EPSIS), were utilized to validate the model. The proposed hybrid LSTM-SARIMA model with parameter sets (1, 1, 1, 12) and (2, 1, 1, 12) demonstrated a high fidelity to the actual observed data. Thus, it is concluded that the optimized system notably surpasses traditional forecasting methods, indicating that this model offers a viable solution for EMS to enhance short-term load forecasting.
Seasonal forecasting has numerous socioeconomic benefits because it can be used for disaster mitigation. Therefore, it is necessary to diagnose and improve the seasonal forecast model. Moreover, the model performance is partly related to the ocean model. This study evaluated the hindcast performance in the upper ocean of the Global Seasonal Forecasting System version 5-Global Couple Configuration 2 (GloSea5-GC2) using a multivariable integrated evaluation method. The normalized potential temperature, salinity, zonal and meridional currents, and sea surface height anomalies were evaluated. Model performance was affected by the target month and was found to be better in the Pacific than in the Atlantic. An increase in lead time led to a decrease in overall model performance, along with decreases in interannual variability, pattern similarity, and root mean square vector deviation. Improving the performance for ocean currents is a more critical than enhancing the performance for other evaluated variables. The tropical Pacific showed the best accuracy in the surface layer, but a spring predictability barrier was present. At the depth of 301 m, the north Pacific and tropical Atlantic exhibited the best and worst accuracies, respectively. These findings provide fundamental evidence for the ocean forecasting performance of GloSea5.
In this study, we developed a $PM_{10}$ forecasting model using DNN and Membership Function, and improved the forecasting performance. The model predicts the $PM_{10}$ concentrations of the next 3 days in the Seoul area by using the weather and air quality observation data and forecast data. The best model(RM14)'s accuracy (82%, 76%, 69%) and false alarm rate(FAR:14%,33%,44%) are good. Probability of detection (POD: 79%, 50%, 53%), however, are not good performance. These are due to the lack of training data for high concentration $PM_{10}$ compared to low concentration. In addition, the model dose not reflect seasonal factors closely related to the generation of high concentration $PM_{10}$. To improve this, we propose Julian date membership function as inputs of the $PM_{10}$ forecasting model. The function express a given date in 12 factors to reflect seasonal characteristics closely related to high concentration $PM_{10}$. As a result, the accuracy (79%, 70%, 66%) and FAR (24%, 48%, 46%) are slightly reduced in performance, but the POD (79%, 75%, 71%) are up to 25% improved compared with those of the RM14 model. Hence, this shows that the proposed Julian forecast model is effective for high concentration $PM_{10}$ forecasts.
This paper proposes Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA)-based forecasting algorithms using meteorological indices to predict seasonal peak load. First of all, this paper observes a seasonal pattern of the peak load that appears intensively in winter and summer, and generates ARIMA models to predict the peak load of summer and winter. In addition, this paper also proposes hybrid ARIMA-based models (ARIMA-Hybrid) using a discomfort index and a sensible temperature to enhance the conventional ARIMA model. To verify the proposed algorithm, both ARIMA and ARIMA-Hybrid models are developed based on peak load data obtained from 2006 to 2015 and their forecasting results are compared by using the peak load in 2016. The simulation result indicates that the proposed ARIMA-Hybrid models shows the relatively improved performance than the conventional ARIMA model.
Air Quality Index (AQI) is a pointer to broadcast short term air quality. This paper presents one day ahead AQI forecasting on seasonal basis for three major cities in Maharashtra State, India by using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Genetic Programming (GP). The meteorological observations & previous AQI from 2005-2008 are used to predict next day's AQI. It was observed that GP captures the phenomenon better than ANN and could also follow the peak values better than ANN. The overall performance of GP seems better as compared to ANN. Stochastic nature of the input parameters and the possibility of auto-correlation might have introduced time lag and subsequent errors in predictions. Spectral Analysis (SA) was used for characterization of the error introduced. Correlational dependency (serial dependency) was calculated for all 24 models prepared on seasonal basis. Particular lags (k) in all the models were removed by differencing the series, that is converting each i'th element of the series into its difference from the (i-k)"th element. New time series is generated for all seasonal models in synchronization with the original time line & evaluated using ANN and GP. The statistical analysis and comparison of GP and ANN models has been done. We have proposed a promising approach of use of GP coupled with SA for real time prediction of seasonal multicity AQI.

The purpose of this paper was to analyze the trend of container volume using the Seasonal Autoregressive Intergrated Moving Average (SARIMA) model. To this end, this paper used monthly time-series data of the East Sea Rim from 2001 to 2019. As a result, the SARIMA(2,1,1)12 model was identified as the most suitable model, and the superiority of the SARIMA model was demonstrated by comparative analysis with the ARIMA model. In addition, to confirmed forecasting accuracy of SARIMA model, this paper compares the volume of predict container to the actual volume. According to the forecast for 24 months from 2020 to 2021, the volume of containaer increased from 60,100,000Ton in 2020 to 64,900,000Ton in 2021
시계열 군집 분석 방법으로서 Periodogram 기반의 정규화 군집분석, 예측 기반의 군집분석, DTW(Dynamic Time Warping)를 이용하여 군집화를 시도하였으며, 군집 별 수요예측 모형으로서 DSHW(Double Seasonal Holt-Winters) 모형, TBATS(Trigonometric, Box-Cox transform, ARMA errors, Trend and Seasonal components) 모형, FARIMA(Fractional ARIMA) 모형을 사용하여 예측을 실시하였다. 전체 사용량을 기반으로 예측 하는 방식이 아닌, 군집분석을 통한 군집별 예측량의 결합이 더 낮은 MAPE로 나타남에 따라 우수한 예측 방법으로 판단되었다.
