This study is aim to the effects of job satisfaction on the major satisfaction of science and engineering college students and also analyzed the mediating effects of future outlook of job and major relevance in career choice. To do this, structural equation modeling(SEM) and multi-group SEM were applied to data from 2016 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS). In the results of this study, the major satisfaction, future outlook of job and major relevance were positive effects on job satisfaction and the mediating effects of future outlook of job and major relevance were verified. And results of analysis according to gender difference, the coefficient of woman was smaller than man. Among major satisfaction had a positive effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction fell for women who value their relevance to the major when choosing a job. Based on such results, universities need to further strengthen their role in helping them enhance their expertise through skills and learning about their majors.
With the development of science and technology, an effort to investigate the current research trend of elementary science education will lead to future directions for elementary science education. This study set out to analyze papers published in Elementary Science Education by quantity, subject and methodology for the last ten years. The results were as follows: First, the number of papers has continuously increased for the last 30 years. Second, as for categorization by the functions of elementary science education, the number of papers was mainly published in the field of teacher education, which was followed by learning processes and teaching methods in the order. Third, in the field of the research subjects of elementary science education, many researches were conducted on scientific inquiries and concepts traditionally emphasized in elementary science education, and on gifted education recently implemented as part of national policy. Fourth, as for categorization by the methodologies of elementary science education, a survey study was the most popular, being followed by experimental study and literature study in the order. In recent years, researches based on the case study methodology have visibly grown in numbers, which seems to part of efforts to find implications with new methodologies among researchers facing limitations with the old ones in the middle of uniqueness called education.
Purpose - There is little research on the market of foreign infant education materials. So, it is needed to deeply examine the development and preference factors of foreign infant education materials. Therefore, this study presents a future method and model for analyzing the important variables of buying foreign infant education materials. Research design, data, and methodology - The conjoint analysis method and model of this paper is used as follows. Conjoint analysis method is possible to derive the attributes to be analyzed through the model of the preferred factors, and then to derive the sub-attributes of the attributes. Results - This study derived preference attributes between brand benefit, equity (brand image, loyalty, awareness), distribution network (department store, specialty stores, discount store, internet mall), and service quality (tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy) in infant education materials conjoint model. Conclusions - Since the opening of the education market in Korea, parents have a high education level due to low birth rate. The advantages of the conjoint analysis method have been extended to the study of infant education materials. Based on this, this paper will identify important attributes that are considered in preference of foreign infant education materials and help to establish and implement future marketing strategies.
Background: Emergent and re-emergent canine tick-borne infections are attracting increasing attention worldwide. The rise in pet ownership and the close relationship between dogs and their owners are the most concerning factors because dogs may act as competent reservoirs for human tick-transmitted infectious agents. Objectives: This study contributes to the epidemiological surveillance of canine tick-transmitted infections with zoonotic risk in the Republic of Korea (ROK) by investigating the seroprevalence of the pathogens, Anaplasma spp., Borrelia burgdorferi, and Ehrlichia canis. Methods: Four hundred and thirty whole blood samples from domestic dogs were collected in seven metropolitan cities and nine provinces in the ROK and tested using SensPERT Ab test kits (VetAll Laboratories®) to detect seroreactive animals. Results: The seroprevalence rates identified were 9.8% (42/430) for Anaplasma spp., 2.8% (12/430) for B. burgdorferi, and 1.4% (6/430) for E. canis. The risk factors evaluated in this study that could be associated with the development of a humoral immune response, such as sex, age, and history of tick exposure, were similar. There was only one exception for dogs seroreactive to Anaplasma spp., where the risk factor "tick exposure" was statistically significant (p = 0.047). Conclusions: This serological survey exhibited the widespread presence of Anaplasma spp., B. burgdorferi, and E. canis throughout the ROK. Hence, dogs may play a key role as the sentinel animals of multiple zoonotic infectious agents in the country.
As the necessity of creative and convergent people who will lead the future society is emphasized, STEAM education is becoming an issue as new science education method. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of science lesson applying STEAM education on the creativity and science related attitudes of elementary school students. In this study, the science lesson applying STEAM education meant integrated lesson included 'Creative planning' and 'Emotional experience'. The study subjects were four classes of the 4th grade of D elementary school in Busan. Two classes including 43 students were experimental group and the others including 40 students were comparison group. For the purpose of study, 'The state change of water' unit in the 4th grade elementary science text book was analyzed and recomposed applying STEAM education. And the recomposed unit was applied to experimental group, whereas comparison group was taught traditional science lesson. The results of this study were as follows. First, the science lesson applying STEAM education influenced significantly the improvement of the creativity of elementary school students. The article describes technologies in a unified methodological vein, since teaching based on them at the present stage is clearly eclectic in nature and depends on the individual - "biased" - professional attitude of teachers to technologies and those ideologies that gave rise to them. In this article, the future teacher will get acquainted with only some of these technologies. With the hope that this article will help the future teacher understand the essence of the technological approach, determine his pedagogical position and improve his pedagogical culture.

The purpose of this study is to develop a Framework for Performance Assessment in Science Education(FPASE). Science educators in the past have paid more attention to science curriculum and teaching strategies than assessment. In recent years, attention has turned toward performance assessment which addresses the concerns of science curriculum and instruction, and which is consistent with goals of science education at various levels of interests. Science educators are trying to do performance assessment, yet they don't have a framework that is highly qualified in terms of science educational objectives for the future, and advantages of performance assessment. We, therefore, have developed a framework for performance assessment in science education, which may be useful for science teachers to understand and assess their students' abilities. We have extracted seven domains covering students' various abilities as the important objectives of science performance assessment and grouped them into three categories: General, Science specific, and Intermediate abilities. And we developed a F-PASE with a three dimensional solid figured structure, and illustrated it as the configuration of a com. F-PASE is useful for science teachers to develop and select a science performance assessment as well as have a more advanced understanding of their students' abilities. It is a creative and novel assessment framework in terms of structure, configuration, functions and meanings. It also suggests a new vision of an assessment framework in science education.
According to the previous studies, the science education departments in the college of education should develop better curricula to teach future secondary school teachers in a more professional way As one example of such curricula developments. one important topics of modem physics was integrated to teach the future high school physics teachers In the physics education departments. The title is "The Physics of Solar Constant Measurement The surrounding core physics for this measurements were pulled together with these important points in minds(1) clear goal of learning In the teachers college physics(2) Clear explanation of physics and visualization of important technologies for the high school students(3) these teachings should encourage for the students to use the knowledge and technologies learned through the class toward the industrial applications Korea will move toward one of the heavily industrialized countries in the world where the physics education can become key player to manufacture physics based products. Therefore developments of physics curricula which relates teachers college, high school, and industry will become more and more Important.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of a science gifted education program. 155 students who experienced the SNU science gifted education program were interviewed. The interview questions consisted of eligible questions from 'Interview Protocol of Hertzog' (2003) based on 'Recommended Practice in Gifted Education (Shore, Cornell, & Ward, 1991)'. All interviews were immediately transcribed and analyzed qualitatively. It was found that scientifically gifted students had similar concepts of the gifted to what scholars consider as the gifted. Comparing the programs to school education program, the students agreed that the science gifted education program provided more experiments opportunities, higher and deeper level of contents, and more active interactions. Regarding long-term effects, it was found that program influenced on students' decisions for the future, stimuli and expansion of horizons, school work and entrance examinations. Students gained self-confidence and became more interested in science. Some pointed out that they felt greater stimulated, although some indicated an elevated level of self conceit. Implications of science gifted education were found based on these results.

In both Korea and the U.S., science education leaders and specialists insist that there is a shortage of curricula to address the new national science education guidelines in support of reform. This paper addresses development of new curricula for science education reform in the hopes of facilitating further development of guideline-based curricula. We examine Korean and U.S. thematic-based (Korean Science Field Trip at Cultural Sites Program and U.S. Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education) and project-centered (Korean Teachers for Exciting Science and U.S. Foundational Approaches in Science Teaching Program) programs. Using the criteria of rationale for curriculum, content and scope, processes of implementation, and assessment strategies, we identify the curricular components that are common across four successful secondary science programs and determine which of these components address the national guidelines. Our findings indicate that common components of these four programs meet the expectations of the science guidelines being used to revamp science education in both countries. Therefore, these programs not only engage secondary students and teachers in practicing successful science education, but also lead to successful science education practices that can be incorporated in the future development of curriculum to support secondary science reform.
