노즐과 익렬의 상대 위치에 따른 초음속 터빈의 유동특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study to Investigate the Flow Characteristics of a Supersonic Turbine Depending on the Relative Positions of Nozzle and Cascade)

  • 노즐에 대한 익렬의 위치가 따른 부분 흡입형 초음속 터빈 내부의 유동특성에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 그 특성을 살펴보기 위해 실험을 실시하였다. 터빈 익렬 내부의 유동 가시화를 위해 슐리렌 시스템을 사용하였으며, 압력변환기를 이용하여 터빈 익렬 내부의 정압력을 측정하였다. 실험을 통해 충격파를 포함한 복잡한 유동 형태와 유동박리, 충격파-경계층 상호작용 등을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 노즐에 대한 터빈 익렬 위치에 따른 터빈 내부의 유동특성을 파악할 수 있었다.

가시화를 이용한 정적연소기에서 점화장치가 화염전파에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Visualization Study on the Effects of Ignition Systems on the Flame Propagation in a Constant Volume Combustion Chamber)

  • A visualization study using the schlieren method is adopted in an optically-accessible, cylindrical constant volume combustion chamber to identify the mechanism of ignition energy and ignition system interaction in spark ignited, lean gasoline-air mixture. In order to research the effects of ignition system on flame propagation, two kinds of ignition system are designed, and several kinds of spark plugs are tested and evaluated. To control the discharge energy, the dwell time is varied. The initial flame development is quantified in terms of 2-D images which provides information about the projected flame area and development velocity as a function of ignition system and discharge energy. The results show that high ignition energy and extended spark plug gap can shorten the combustion duration in lean mixtures. The material, diameter and configuration of electrodes the flame development by changing the transfer efficiency from electrical energy to chemical energy and discharge energy. However these factors do not affect of flame development as much a ignition energy or extended gap does.

예혼합 난류화염구조에 미치는 레이놀즈 수와 담퀠러 수의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Reynolds Number and Damkohler Number in the Structure of Premixed Turbulent Flames)

  • The structure of premixed tubulent flames in a constant-volume vessel was investigated using a schlieren method and microprobe method. The schlieren method was used to observe the flame structure qualitatively. The microprobe method, which detects a flamelet by detecting its flame potential signal, was used to investigate the deeper flame structure behind the flame front. The flame potential signal having one to six peaks was obtained in the case of turbulent flames, each of them being regarede as a flamelet existing in the flame zone. Based on this consideration, the flame propagation speed, the thickness of the flame zone, the number of flamelets and the separation distance between adjacent flamelets in the flame zone were measured. Moreover, the thickness of flamelet which could not be attempted in the conventional electrostatic probe method was also investigated. The experimental results of this work suggest the existence of "reactant islands" in the reaction zone, and show that the averaged number of flamelets increases with an increase in the turbulence intensity and/or a decrease in the Damkohler number. The mean thickness of flamelet in the case of turbulent flames was found to be about two times compared to laminar values.ar values.

정적연소기를 사용한 메탄올의 연소특성에 관한 연구 (Fundamental study on combustion characteristics of methanol fuel in a constant volume chamber)

  • It is very important to clarify the ignition and flame propagation processes of methanol fuel in the Spark-ignition engine. High speed Schlieren photography and pressure trace analyses were used to study on combustion characteristics of methanol fuel in a constant volume chamber. Methanol-air mixtures equivalence rations from lean limit to 1.4 were ignited at initial pressure (0.1, 0.3, 0.5 MPa), temperature (313 343, 373 K) and ignition energy (40, 180 mJ). As the result of this study, we verified the characteristics such as ignition delay, effective thermal efficiency, flame propagation velocity, lean limit, ignitability and combustion duration. Obatained results are as follows. (1) The time to 10% reach of maximum pressure was 40-50% of the total combustion duration for this experimental condition hardly affected by equivalence ratio. (2) The Effective thermal efficiency, as calculated from maximum pressure was the highest when the mixture was slightly lean $({\phi} 0.8-0.9)$ and maximum pressure was the highest when the mixiture was slightly rich $({\phi} 1.2-1.2).$

정적연소실내에서의 플라즈마 제트 점화에 대한 연소기간중의 열손실산정 (Evaluation of Heat Loss by Means of Plasma Jet Ignition during Combustion Duration in the Constant Volume Vessel)

  • In this paper, the heat loss to the constant volume vessel wall was investigated using instantaneous heat flux sensor, schlieren visualization, pressure rise curve. And the heat loss characteristics of plasma jet ignition were compared with conventional spark ignition. In case of plasma jet ignition, the flame kernel moves toward the center of combustion vessel in the initial period of combustion, and the flame surface spread out to the vessel wall. However, in case of conventional spark ignition, the flame surface contact with combustion vessel wall in the initial period of combustion. As a result, heat loss in the combustion duration for conventional spark ignition increase faster than that of plasma jet ignition. And the combustion enhancement rate of plasma jet ignition is higher than that of conventional spark ignition, and it was found that the heat loss rate is inversely proportional to the combustion enhancement rate.

유화연료의 분사압력이 연소특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Injection Pressure of Water-in-Oil Emulsified Fuel on the Combustion Characteristics)

  • This study was carried on the combustion characteristics of a pure light oil and emulsified fuels at high-pressure injection in a spray combustion installation, The volume fractions of water in an emulsion were varied up to 30% and the injection pressures were 7.5, 100, 200, and $300kg_f/cm^2$. The concentrations of NOx and the average temperatures of flame were measured. And Images of OH radical using ICCD camera and instantaneous schlieren photography of flames were photographed. It was found that the temperature distribution of axial distance in the emulsified fuels was increased in the upstream and decreased in the down stream. The temperature distribution of radial distance was high at the peripheral regions of the spray in the upstream and at the central regions of spray in the downstream, The intensity of OH radical was denser at the water content 10% than at the pure light oil over the injection pressure $200kg_f/cm^2$.

  • 스크램제트 엔진의 연소기 내부 유동은 초음속이므로 유동의 잔류시간과 혼합율의 증대가 효과적인 연소를 가능하게 하는 주요 요인으로 작용한다. 본 연구에서는 연료-공기 혼합기로써 L/D=4.8인 개방형 공동 모델을 사용하였고, 공동 앞에서의 경사 연료 분사 시 분사구 주위와 공동 주위의 유동특성을 살펴보기 위하여 레이저 슐리렌 기법과 압력측정을 실시하였다. 측정에 사용된 레이저 슐리렌은 10 ns의 매우 짧은 광원 지속시간을 보유하여 공동부근의 비정상 유동 현상을 효과적으로 관찰할 수 있었다. 압력측정은 연료 분사비 J(운동량비)를 변화시켜 가며 측정하였으며, 운동량비에 따른 연소기 내부 주요 압력상승 지점의 변화를 살펴 볼 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 플라즈마 분사장치를 활용하여 항력감소를 위한 기초 실험을 수행하였다. 가시화 장비와 항력 측정 장비를 이용하여 기초 실험 장치를 구성하였다. 자유유동 환경에서 분사되는 플라즈마 역분사 제트를 가시화하기 위한 방법으로 쉴리렌 기법을 활용하였다. 가시화 실험 결과를 통해 플라즈마 제트의 침투와 유동구조 변화를 관찰하였다. 항력감소 가능성을 측정하기 위한 방법으로 로드셀을 이용한 측정을 수행하였다. 그 결과 초음속 자유유동 조건에서 역으로 분사되는 플라즈마를 통해 항력이 6.2% 감소함을 보였다.

난류확산화염의 화염구조와 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flame Structure and Combustion Characteristics of Turbulent Diffusion Flame(I))

  • This study was focused on the examination of the flame structure and the combustion characteristics of diffusion flame which was formed the turbulent shear flow of a double coaxial air jet system. The shear flow was formed by the difference velocity of surrounding air jet(U$\_$s/) and center air jet (U$\_$c/). So experimental condition was divided S-type flame (.lambda. > 1) and C-type flame (.lambda. < 1) by velocity ratio .lambda. (=U$\_$s//U$\_$c/). For examination of the flame structure and the combustion characteristics in diffusion flame, coherent structure was observed in flame by schlieren photograph method. We measured fluctuating temperature and ion current simultaneously and accomplished the statistical analysis of its. According to schlieren photograph, the flame was stabilized in the rim of the direction of lower velocity air jet, coherent eddy was produced and developed by higher velocity air jet. The statistical data of fluctuating temperature and ion current was indicated that reaction was dominated by higher velocity air jet. The mixing state of burnt gas and non-burnt gas was distributed the wide area at Z = 100 mm of C-type flame.

초음속 충돌제트의 유동특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flow Characteristics of a Supersonic Impinging Jet)

  • 초음속 부족팽창제트가 충돌할 때 유동장은 매우 복잡한 유동구조를 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 음속노즐 출구 직경의 1.5배 거리에 경사각 $60^{\cire}$~$90^{\cire}$로 설치된 평판에 미치는 초음속 제트에 대해 쉴릴렌 장치를 이용하여 유동구조를 가시화 하였으며, 평판 위에 작용하는 압력분포를 측정하였고 감열지를 이용하여 평판 표면 유동을 가시화하여 기존의 연구결과와 비교하였다. 연구결과 간단한 방법으로 저마하수에서의 평판 유동을 가시화 할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 충돌제트의 유동구조를 규명하였다.
