Tremor is the common symptom clinically and often be continuous with the brain cortex function. Scalp Acupuncture was designed by connecting the Meridian theory with brain cortex functional theory. We carried out four patients with tremor. We operated Scalp Acupuncture on the chorea-tremor area in connection with precentral gyrus which is in charge of the motion of the opposite part of body about 20 minutes. Herbal medication and the other oriental medical treatments were performed. After our treatments, tremor and some other symptoms were improved.

Objectives : Although dysphagia is a common complication in stroke patients, there are few studies or reports about its treatment in oriental medicine. This study was to report the effects of scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture in stroke patients with dysphagia. Methods : Three stroke patients with dysphagia hospitalized in our hospital were treated by scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture simultaneously every day, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. Results : All of them showed constant improvement during the four weeks. Not only did their objective measures improve, but also their subjective symptoms such as throat discomfort, sputum, swallowing disturbance etc. Conclusions : This suggests that scalp-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture are quite effective when treating stroke patients with dysphagia. More clinical data and studies are to be done for efficient application.

The purpose of this study is to report the case of a patient with idiopathic Parkinson's disease treated with scalp acupuncture and Chuna manual therapy. A total of 10 sessions of scalp acupuncture and Chuna manual therapy were performed. At the beginning of the treatment, the Korean version of modified Barthel index (K-MBI) was 25 points, and the range of motion (ROM) of both knee joints was 150° in passive flexion, while active movement was impossible. In addition, both knee joints were flexed and contracted at -40° on the right and -30° on the left. Over the course of treatment, the ROM of both knee joints improved to -20° on the right and -10° on the left. The patient was even able to maintain a standing position and was allowed to walk approximately 10 steps with support. Temporary improvement was observed as a result of applying scalp acupuncture treatment and Chuna manual therapy to a patient whose symptoms were gradually worsening.

Objective : To investigate the therapeutic effect of scalp acupuncture on dysarthria after stroke. Methods : A-B model in single subject research. The experimental group of 7 members received scalp acupuncture and the control group of 5 nothing for dysarthria itself. Five single vowels were recorded by voice recorder and measured for 1st & 2nd formant. By the formants, a vowel space was made according to each one of the patients. Praat program was used for evaluation. Results : 4 cases in the experimental group showed significant change and just 1 case of the none-operated group got better. Conclusion : In this study, it's proven that acupuncture treatment might have positive efficacy on dysarthria cases. At this moment, more clinical reports are needed for objective oriental medical study.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to look into the methods of acupuncture for spastic cerebral palsy. Methods 27 cases of the clinical literature were selected from 43 studies about cerebral palsy and spastics. Theses literature were published between the January 2010 to September 2015 by using the China Academic Journal (CAJ) of China National Knoweldge Infrastructure (CNKI). Results Most studies mentioned the effect of acupuncture (scalp, general) or acupoint-injection, derma needle, warm acupoint. It was more effective with other herbal complex rehabilitation therapy such as acupuncture, physical therapy occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and the complex speech therapy than just the herbal therapy alone. Acupuncture of acupoint-injection has overall 86~96% of rehabilitation rate. The acupuncture was often used with the general acupuncture and scalp acupuncture. Commonly used major acupuncture points were sishencong (四神總), bohui (百會), yundongqu (運動區), and pinghengqu (平衡區), Li11, Li04, Gb39, St41. The main acupoint-injection points were fengchi (Gb21) and jiexi (St41). For the injection, brain actiator, astragalus injection, cerebroprotein hydrolysate, Vit B1, Vit B2 were commonly used. Conclusion Acupuncture and acupoint-injection have been shown as an effective treatment on spastic cerebral palsy. The acupuncture was used often with the general acupuncture and scalp acupuncture all together.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to see the effect of beevenom on inhibition of Alopecia Universalis. Methods : Beevenom was injected subcutaneously through the borderline of head scalp alopecia starting and, also, region feeling stiff tension. Results : Hair falling off seized and scalp tension was vanished. Conclusions : Beevenom seemed to inhibit the progression of Alopecia by recirculating the blood flow as stiff tension over head was solved and anti-inflammatory effect of beevenom seizing inflammation on the scalp. Further evaluation with big sample size control study would be required to manifest the rationale and effectness of Beevenom over Alopecia Universalis.

Acupuncture has been clinically used to treat patients suffering from eye disease. It has been used in efforts to help preserve vision for those with a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma and intraocular hypertension. High intraocular pressure (IOP) is usually associated with glaucoma and conventional treatment is focused on lowering IOP. Controlling this risk factor should help hasten the onset of glaucoma for those patents that are suspect or borderline candidates for glaucoma. In review of the limited scientific research there are not many studies that support conclusive evidence for the use of acupuncture on eye diseases and particularly glaucoma and ocular hypertension. For the information that does exist, diverse results from various interventions make it difficult to draw clear conclusions. The existing studies use different acupoints, techniques, frequencies, and durations. Individual treatment strategies according to the practitioner's subjective experience, patient condition, and the use of other complimentary and natural strategies is ideal for taking a more dynamic and wholistic approach to getting results. Until more pragmatic research models are funded and implemented, case reports can offer good examples of experiential and objective outcomes. This case report presents a 61 year old healthy female patient diagnosed with open-angle borderline glaucoma with elevated IOP. The patients IOP was successfully reduced with 12 treatments over three months using scalp electro-acupuncture and distal Master Tung points.

Objective : To report seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp which is treated by Bee-venom Acupuncture therapy. Methods : Under the assumption that Be-venom Therapy may be effective for treatment seborrheic dermatitis, Bee-venom acupuncture was injected subcutaneously into the lesion including Gv24(神庭), Gv23(上星), Gv22, Gv20(白會), B4(曲差), B5(五處), B6(承光), S8(頭維), etc. Results : The symptoms including erythematous plaque, scale, itching were resolved clearly except a little scale by Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy. Conclusions : Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is effective in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. if more clinical trials like this are proved to be effective in seborrheic dermatitis, we can expect that Bee-venom acupuncture Therapy is used to treatment of seborrheic dermatitis as good method.

Objectives : This study was designed to report the clinical effects of scalp acupuncture on patients who suffered from broca aphasia caused by cerebral hemorrhage, Methods : Scalp acupuncture therapy was applied on the above patients for several weeks, For the evaluation of improvement, language field was monitored by aphasia test(RISS) and speech field was monitored by phonetic analysis in the computerized speech lab. Results : According to the above evaluation items, the treatment was beneficial. The score of most items rose in the language field. And scalp acupuncture affected VOT, TD and articular error patterns positively in the speech field. Conclusions : The above results suggest that scalp acupuncture has good effects on the patients with broca aphasia caused by cerebral hemorrhage.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report the patient with radial nerve palsy, who improved by oriental medical treatment. Methods : The patient was managed by bee venom aqua-acupuncture, sclp acupuncture and herbal medicine. We took picture of the patients's wrist and checked the power of muscles. Results : After 4 week treatment, the movement and power of wrist was restored of nearly normal range. also the numbness of hand was removed. Combined oriental medical treatment can treat radial nerve palsy earlier than other methods. Conclusions : The results suggest that combination of bee venom aqua-acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and herbal medicine is good method for treatment of radial nerve palsy. But further studies are required to concretely prove the effectiveness of this methods for treating radial nerve palsy.
