고주파 SAW Filter 의 제작과 Filter 특성 (Fabrication and Characteristics of High Frequency SAW Filler)

  • SAW filters of transversal type were fabricated on some piezoelectric substrates of the LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, LN 64$^{\circ}$Y-X, Quartz ST-cut wafers through the simulation in which the number o: IDT and window function were changed for the required frequency, and the mask making. Their IDT spacing and width were 3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, chip size was 4.462 $\times$ 2.086 mm$^2$, and they had double electrode transversal type IDTs. In addition to pure Al electrode devices, Ti thin films having the different thicknesses was introduced between the Al electrode and the substrate for improving the power resistance strength. They had 11-12 dB insertion losses similar to those of pure Al electrode SAW filters in case of LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, LN 64$^{\circ}$ Y-X, meaning that Ti thin film was not detrimental to the insertion loss and general frequency properties. The filters had the center frequencies 162MHz for LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, 186MHz for 64$^{\circ}$ Y-X, and 131MHz for Quartz ST-cut substrates.

Al-Cu 합금 전극막 구조를 갖는 사다리형 SAW filter의 RF-고전력 내구성 특성 고찰 (A Study on RF High Power Durability of Al-Cu Alloy Electrodes Used in Ladder-type SAW(surface acoustic wave) Filters)

  • As power durable RF SAW filters, AL-(0∼2wt%)Cu alloy multi-layered thin electrodes were deposited on 42° LiTaO$_3$ piezoelectric substrates by magnetron sputtering process, and then ladder-type RF SAW filters, satisfying the electrical specification of CDMA transmission band, were fabricated through optimizing SAW resonator structures. The temperature of film electrodes in SAW filter was increased with RF power, and reached the maxima to cause a failure of SAW filters at the cut-off frequencies of the RF filter band. As RF power increases, the electrodes of Al-Cu alloy showed higher power durability than that of pure Al. The multi-layer laminated film of Al-1wt.% Cu/Cu/Al-1wt%Cu resulted in the best power durability up to 4W of RF power. Every film electrode, however, was destroyed within seconds whenever applying a critical RF power to SAW filters, regardless of the composition and structure of film electrodes. The breakdown of film electrodes under FR power seems to believe due to the fatigue of electrodes caused by repetitive cyclic stress of surface acoustic wave, which is amplified as RF power increases.

  • GaN/사파이어 박막구조는 높은 SAW속도로 인해 고주파 소자로 이용될 가능성이 있다. 일반적으로, GaN 박막은 사파이어의 c, a, 그리고 r-면에 성장한다. 본 연구에서는 사파이어의 기판과 GaN 박막사이의 결정학적 관계에 따라 GaN/사파이어 구조의 파동 방정식을 계산하였다. 각각의 면에서, GaN의 kH와 사파이어의 기판방향에 따라 전단속도가 변화하였다. 그 결과 r-면의 경우 전기기계결합계수가 우수했다. 즉, 재료의 탄성상수와 전기기계결합계수는 기판의 cut 방향과 방향성에 좌우된다. 또한, GaN/r-면 사파이어는 전기기계결합계수가 우수하므로 고주파수 대역 SAW 소자 응용에 보다 더 좋을 것이다.

이중 모드 결합에 의한 이동 통신 기기용 SAW 필터 (Double-Mode SAW Filter for Mobile Communication System)

  • 본 논문에서는 2개의 동일한 1-Port 형 공진기를 병렬로 근접배치시킨 이중모드 SAW 공진기의 설계를 위하여, 우선, 결합 모드이론에 의한 1-Port 형 공진기의 특성을 기초로 하여, 도파로 모델을 적용한 이중모드 SAW 공진기의 특성을 분석하였으며, 이를 이용해서 중심 주파수가 150.15MHz이고 대역폭이 80KHz인 2-Pole 및 4-Pole 협대역 필터를 설계.제작 하였다. 이중모드 SAW 필터를 설계변수를 달리하여 여러 번 제작.실험하여 실험치와 이론치를 비교함으로써, 제품 설계에 사용 가능한 실험적 설계 특성을 얻었으며, 이동통신기기에서 사용될 수 있는 헙대역 통과 필터를 구현하였다. DMS 공진기를 구성한 압전 기판으로는 높은 주파수에서도 온도변화에 의한 주파수 이동 및 물성의 변화가 적은 ST-cut quartz(수정)를 선택하였으며, 필터의 제작은 정확한 전극구조를 얻기 위하여 고해상도 사진 식각법과 전극의 수직식각특성이 우수한 이온반응 식각법(Reactive Ion Etching)을 적용하였다.

CDMA 휴대전화기용 IF 표면탄성파 필터의 설계 및 제작 (Design and fabrication of IF SAW filter for CDMA cellular phone system)

  • Remez exchange algorithm was applied to realize an IF SAW filter for CDMA cellular phone systems. A SAW filter with withdrawal weighted transducers was simulated and then fabricated on 42.75.deg. ST-cut Quaritz wafer. Excellent agreement wasobtained between calculated andmeasured responses. Fabricated SAWfilterswere mounted on ceramic SMD package for reducing their size and volume. SAW filters were measured under matched circuit. As a result, 5 dB bandwidth of 1.32 MHz, 33dB bandwidth of 1.76 MHz, insertion loss of 13.8 dB and peak to peak ripple at passband of 0.26 dB were obtained. Linear group delay responses at passband were also obtained. These characteristics were good for practical use of IF SAW filter for CDMA system.

  • The mechanical properties such as the Young's modulus, damping ratio, vibration mode and hardness of the disk materials heat-treated under various conditions are measured, and the relations between there properties and the cutting characteristics such as early tip fracture are examined. The results obtained from this study are as follows. The circular saw with the V-Cr added disk has higher young's modulus and damping ratio than the saw with STC5 disk, preventing the early fracture of tungsten carbide due to the above properties. The circular saw with the disk which is subjected to the heat treatment at the quenching temperature of $830^{\circ}C$ and at the temperature of $550^{\circ}C$ have the best tool life and surface roughness.

  • Tungsten carbide (WC) circular saws have been widely used to cut plywood. Recently, expensive polycrystalline diamond (PCD) were adopted to extend the tool life of circular saws. This study developed a PCD-WC combination circular saw and compared its performance with that of existing WC and PCD saws. Flank wear of WC saw blades and edge chipping of rectangular PCD was observed during the experiments. The PCD-WC saw replaced half of the chamfered teeth with PCD and applied tough WC for all rectangular teeth. In the experiments, edge chipping was not observed in rectangular WC teeth and the flank wear of chamfered teeth was decreased compared with that of conventional circular saws.

  • It is a feature of primary importance for a backing material for circular saw blades having teeth which are tipped with cermet, that the steel has not a too high hardenability in order that the backing material shall not be completely hardened through brazing, welding or grinding, etc. in connection with the finishing operation in the manufacturing of circular saw blade. It is believed that V-(2Mo+W) added steel from this point of view had best conditions. Using V-(2Mo+W) added backing steel, the tool failure can be effectively prevented due to superior damping performance.

수중 SAW Device의 최적 설계법 (Optimal Design of Underwater SAW Devices)

  • 최근 신호 처리 기기와 센서로서 각광을 받고 있는 SAW Device 는 때론 목적에 따라 수중에서 사용해야 할 때가 있다. 그러나 유체내의 고체 표면을 전파하는 표면파의 경우, 유체내로의 에너지 손실로 인해 설계상에 많은 어려움을 주고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 어려움을 극복할 수 있는 최적 설계법으로서, 컴퓨터 모형해석을 통해 수중에서 압전물질에 의한 표면파의 최대 발진 효율, 최소 전파 감쇄율, 그리고 pure mode 전파를 이룰 수 있는 SAW Device 의 최적 geometry, 즉 초적 압전 결정 평면, 표면과 전파 방향, 그리고 무차원 전파 계수 들을 구하였다. 본 논문에서는 표면파가 전파하는 고체 재료로서 PZT와 PVDF 적층, 그리고 쇠 하부층을 사용하였으나, 이 설계법은 임의의 유체층과 고체층의 조합에도 적용할 수 있다. 동일한 기술은 수중음향 계측기, antifouling, 그리고 산업 및 의료 분야 등에 쓰이는 센서와 발진기의 설계에도 바로 응용할 수 있다.

A study of diamond wire rock cutting process analysis by FEM

  • In this paper diamond wire cutting method has been proposed to cut the rock in the tunnel face. Diamond wire saw method could cut the rock from tunnel face with very minor vibration and noise. In this study rock cutting process has been simulated with FEM method by using LS-DYNA explicit non-linear finite element code. Normal load act as an prime factor when cutting the rock surface. For observing the effect of normal load on bead, several experiments has been conducted by varying normal loads on the bead. From each experiment, cutting rate has been calculated to compare the cutting rate with different load conditions. By increasing the normal load on bead, cutting rate increases drastically.
