국내 폐기물매립지 온실가스 감축을 위한 호기성 안정화 공법의 적용 가능성 (Possibility of aerobic stabilization technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from landfills in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 폐기물매립지에서 배출되는 온실가스를 저감하기 위한 호기성 안정화 기술의 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. 대상매립지는 국내 Y 매립지로 LandGEM 모델을 이용하여 메탄 배출량을 산정하였으며, 온실가스 저감량($CO_2eq$)은 혐기성 조건(베이스라인)과 호기성 조건에서의 배출량을 비교하여 산정하였다. 호기성 조건에서의 온실가스 저감은 폐기물매립지 내부로 공기를 주입 시 혐기성에서 호기성으로 전환되면서 부산물로 메탄대신 이산화탄소가 발생되기 때문이다. 평가결과 호기성 안정화 기술은 기존 혐기성 대비 86.6%의 온실가스를 감축하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 조기안정화를 통한 주변 환경오염 저감과 동시에 온실가스를 대폭 저감시킬 수 있는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 호기성 안정화 기술은 지속가능한 매립관점에서 보았을 때 국내 폐기물매립지에 적용할 수 있는 가장 적합한 기술 중 하나로 판단된다.

  • In accordance with 2015 Paris agreement, each individual country around the world should voluntarily propose not only its (individual) reduction target, but also actively develop and present expansion targets of its scope and concrete reduction goals exceeding the previous ones. Accordingly, it is necessary to prepare a macroscopic, long-range strategy for reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, which can cover a single building, town, city and eventually even a province. The purpose of this research is to gather and compile government-acquired data from various sources and (in accordance with contents and specificity), combine building data by stages by using multi-variable matrix and then analyze the significance of combined data for each stage. The first order data presents the probability and the cost effectiveness of energy saving on the scale of a city or a province, based only upon general information, size and power consumption of buildings. The second order data can identify a pattern of energy consumption for a building of a specific purpose and which tends to consume a larger amount of energy during one particular season (than others). Finally, the third order data can derive influential factors (base load, humidity) from the energy consumption pattern of a building, and thus propose an informed and practical energy-saving method to be applied in real time.

태양열을 이용한 곡물건조에 관한 연구 (Review on the Use of Solar Energy for Grain Drying)

  • A dimensional supply of petroleum fuels and increased competition for petroleum products has made the conservation of energy in grain drying an important cost and management factor. Research on solar grain drying is directed toward utilization of a renewable energy source as an alternative to petroleum fuels for drying. There are many technical and economic problems in accepting and adopting solor energy as a new energy source for grain drying. The purpose of this study are to assess the state of the art of solar grain drying and to find out the problems by reviewing literatures available. The results obtained may be summarized as follows; 1.It may be considered that the weather conditions in October of Korea was satisfactory for the forced natural air and solar heated air drying. 2. Solar energy is considered more applicable to low-temperature, In-storage drying systems than to high-temperature, high-speed drying systems. In-storage drying systems require low levels of heat input. The costs of collector systems to provide low temperature are considerably cheaper than for high-temperature systems. 3. Tubular type collector made of polyvinyle film seems to be the most practical at this stage of development and black-painted bare-plate collectors mounted on the outside of a typical, round, low-temperature drying bin can supply an appreciable amount of the energy efficiently needed for low-temperature grain drying at a lower cost. 4. All of the grains in solar drying tests was successfully dried up to safe storaged moisture levels without significant spoilage. Drying rates with solar system were faster than natural air drying systems, and usually a little slower than similar low-temperature electric drying systems. 5. Final grain moisture levels were lower in solar tests than in natural air tests, and generally higher than in tests with continuous heated air. 6. Savings of energy by use of solar collectors ranged from 23% to 55%, compared to the natural and electric ileated air drying systems. However, total drying cost effectiteness tvas not significant. Therefore, it is desirable that solar grain dry-ing sIFstems tvhich could be suitable for multiple heating purposes on farms shouldbe developed. 7. Supplemental heat with solar radiation did little to reduce air flow requirementsbut refuced drying time and increased the p\ulcornerobability of successful drying duringdrying poriod.

Cost Analysis of Using a Closed-System Transfer Device (CSTD) for Antineoplastic Drug preparation in a Malaysian Government-Funded Hospital

  • Background: Apart from reducing occupational exposure to cytotoxic hazards, the PhaSeal(R) closed-system transfer device (CSTD) can extend the beyond-use dates (BUDs) of unfinished vials of antineoplastic drugs for up to 168 hours (seven days). In this study, the total material cost incurred by its use in a Malaysian government-funded hospital was calculated. Methods: A list of vial stability following initial needle punctures of 29 commonly-used antineoplastic drugs was compiled. The amount of the materials used, including drugs, infusion bottles, the PhaSeal(R) CSTD and other consumables, was recorded on a daily basis for three months in 2015. The total cost was calculated based on the actual acquisition costs, and was compared with that of a hypothetical scenario, whereby conventional syringe-needle sets were used for the same amounts of preparations. Results: The use of the PhaSeal(R) CSTD incurred a cost of MYR 383,634.52 (USD 92,072.28) in three months, representing an average of MYR 170.5 (USD 40.92) per preparation or an estimated annual cost of MYR 1,534,538.08 (USD 368,289.14). Compared with conventional syringe-needle approach, it is estimated to lead to an additional spending of MYR 148,627.68 (USD 35,670.64) yearly. Conclusion: Although there was a reduction of drug wastage achieved by extending BUDs of unfinished vials using the PhaSeal(R) CSTD, cost saving was not observed, likely attributable to the wide use of lower-priced generic drugs in Malaysia. Future studies should further evaluate the possibility of cost saving, especially in health settings where branded and high-cost antineoplastic drugs are more commonly used.

Bolero Bill of Lading(BBL) 실용화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Bolero Bill of Lading(BBL))

  • To accomplish international electronic commerce via the Internet, the most serious dilemma is the international payment system. The BBL is a secure and effective electronic commerce framework for the replacement of traditional paper documents by electronic messages via the Internet providing significant benefits in terms of cost savings, improved logistics and reduced errors in documentation. The most important legal obstacles in the BBL are how to secure authenticity, non-repudiation and message integrity as well as the status of negotiability equivalent to paper B/L. These kinds of functions may be carried out through the electronic title registry of the Bolero International Limited. The technical structure is supported contractually by the Bolero Rulebook. And other documents except B/L can be made out without any legal or technical problems. What are the handicaps of the BBL in its practical use at this time? I can summarize the current and expected problems as follows: First, the fee to join Bolero Association Limited is burdensome to sellers, buyers and trade related organizations all over the world. Second, the liability in errors or defaults in operating central data registry of Bolero International Limited is limited to U.S.$100,000. The amount is not sufficient to the many bulk cargo owners to cover the damages. Third, businessmen are used to traditional paper documents; therefore it takes much time for them to change their customs and practices. So the BBL and traditional papers would be used simultaneously for the time being. Finally, it is very important to incorporate the Rulebook, a multilateral contract binding on all users signed, in each domestic law, which will accomplish the uniform law basis.

준설 토목섬유 튜브를 활용한 제방 축조 공법 결정을 위한 영향 인자에 관한 연구 (Study on the Influencing Factor for the Decision of the Embankment Construction Method using Geotextile tube Filled with Dredged soil)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내외 준설 토목섬유 튜브 공법의 시공사례에 근거한 적용성과 경제성을 분석하여 공법 결정에 미치는 영향인자에 대하여 연구하였다. 국내사례에서는 준설 토목섬유 튜브를 적용함으로써 40~50% 정도의 공사비 절감 효과가 발생하고 국외사례의 경우는 사석 제방단면의 코어 부분을 준설 토목섬유 튜브로 대체함으로써 사석 물량을 20~70%이상 절감한 것으로 보고되고 있다. 연구결과 준설 토목섬유 튜브를 활용하여 제방 축조 시 구조물의 시공규모가 클수록 경제성이 크고, 사석 운반거리는 16~25km이상인 경우에 공사비 절감효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 준설 토목섬유 튜브를 활용한 제방 축조 공법 결정 시 시공규모 및 사석 운반거리는 중요한 영향인자임을 확인하였다.

HFC152a, HFC134a, 프로판을 포함한 자동차용 대체/보충 냉매의 성능 (Performance of HFC152a, HFC134a and HC290 Mixtures as Alternative Refrigerants for HFC134a)

  • In this study, HFC152a, HFC134a/HFC152a and HC290/HFC134a/HFC152a mixtures are studied for the supplementary and alternative refrigerants for HFC134a used in automobile air-conditioners. Due to the high global warming potential of HFC134a, it has to be phased out in the long run. Thermodynamic performance of these refrigerants are measured in a bench tester of 3.5 kW capacity with an open type compressor under both summer and winter conditions. Test results show that the coefficient of performance (COP) and capacity of pure HFC152a and HFC134a/HFC152a mixture are 9.1~12% and 7% higher than those of HFC134a. As for the HC290/HFC134a/HFC152a, the COP is up to 9.5% higher than that of HFC134a with 1~2% of HC290 while that is up to 6.1% lower than that of HFC134a with 5% HC290. The capacity of the ternary mixture, however, is 8.6% higher than that of HFC134a at all compositions tested. The compressor discharge temperatures of all refrigerants tested are $6{\sim}10^{\circ}C$ higher than that of HFC134a. For all refrigerants, the amount of charge is reduced up to 32% due to the decrease in liquid density. Overall, these refrigerants provide good performance with reasonable energy savings with less environmental problem and thus can be used as long term alternatives for automobile air-conditioners.

고속도로 하이패스 시스템의 연료감소효과 평가 (Evaluation on the Fuel Efficiency of Hi-Pass System)

  • 일반적으로 고속도로 영업소에서는 요금정산을 위해 차량이 감속, 정지, 가속행위를 행해야 하므로, 차량의 멈춤 없이 요금을 징수하는 자동요금징수체계(ETCS)의 일종인 하이패스차로 이용시보다 추가적인 연료소모가 발생하게 된다. 본 연구는 이를 증명하기 위해 현장 실험구간을 선정하고 연료소모량을 측정할 수 있는 실험용 차량을 제작하여 고속도로 영업소 이용방식에 따른 연료소모량을 비교하였다. 실험 결과, 일반차로를 이용하는 차량이 하이패스차로를 이용하는 차량보다 36.7%이상의 추가적인 연료소모가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 근거하여 고속도로 상에서 2009년 1월부터 5월까지 실험차량과 동일한 차량들의 하이패스차로 이용에 의한 연료절감 효과를 추정해 본 결과 약 53.4억원의 연료소모비 절감효과가 나타났다. 실제 차량을 이용한 이러한 실험 방법과 분석결과는 하이패스 시스템의 효율성을 증명하는데 유용하게 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

2014년도 주거실태조사에 나타난 청년 1인 임차가구의 가족 지원 및 주거비 부담에 따른 주거 실태 및 주거 기대 (Young Single-Person Renter Households' Housing Situation and Expectations in Relation to Family Support and Housing Cost Burden Reflected in the 2014 Korea Housing Survey)

  • This study explored housing situation and expectations of young (age between 20 and 34 years) single-person Jeon-se renters and monthly renters with deposit in relation with their family support and own housing cost burden status. Major findings from the analysis of 1,695,729 households were as follows: (1) Among subjects, 27.4% received family supports to pay their rent deposit, and 39.4% had more 'own housing cost burdens' to have housing costs minus the amount supported by their family be 30% or more of their income. (2) More than 11% were found to be 'more burdened' despite receipt of family supports. (3) Family support status was found to be related to formation of first-time households and tenure changes, while own housing cost burden was found to be related to current housing situation and previous and next housing size changes. (4) Households received family supports showed a greater proportion of first-time households or households experienced tenure upgrades. (5) 'Less burdened' households tended to expect housing size upgrade in their next move more positively. Based on the study findings, it was suggested to extend supply of rental housing and housing subsidy targeting young renters in conjunction with programs to encourage their savings.

LiDAR 자료를 이용한 홍수 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (The Study of Flood Simulations using LiDAR Data)

  • 본 연구는 LiDAR 측량 데이터를 이용하여 홍수피해 지역을 예측하고자 한 것으로, 이를 위해 고정밀 DEM 데이터를 이용하여 홍수범람도를 제작하였다. 울산시 태화강유역을 연구대상 지역으로 선정하여 LiDAR 데이터와 수치지도를 이용하여 각각 DEM을 작성하였고, 홍수량과 홍수위 결정에 있어서는 HEC 모델 프로그램과 MIKE 프로그램을 이용하여 홍수 시뮬레이션을 실시하였다. 축척1/5000 수치지도를 이용하여 제작한 DEM과 LiDAR 데이터를 이용한 DEM을 이용하여 동일조건에서 홍수 시뮬레이션을 적용한 결과 상당한 차이가 발생함에 따라 홍수 시뮬레이션은 고정밀 DEM 데이터로 작성된 데이터를 적용하는 것이 바람직하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 홍수지도를 작성하기 위해서는 표고정밀도가 매우 중요한 요소이나, LiDAR 데이터를 이용하기 위하여 모든 지역의 하천지역에 대하여 LiDAR측량을 하는 것은 비경제적이므로 홍수 시뮬레이션이 필요한 중요한 시가화 지역에 대하여 우선적으로 LiDAR 데이터를 적용하여 제작하는 것이 필요하다. 홍수시뮬레이션의 기대효과로는 강우량에 따른 홍수피해지역을 사전에 예측하여 대책을 수립함으로써 재해예방 및 복구예산 절감 등의 효과가 있을 것으로 판단된다.
