In this paper we consider the performance of TCP video traffic over ABR with Long-Range Dependent VBR traffic. As compressed coded video traffics are increasing rapidly over Internet, lots of studies are being done for transmitting those traffics efficiently using limited network resources. We consider here the transmitting video service over ABR service in ATM networks, especially satellite networks. CBR or VBR services are suggested in transmitting the video traffic in ATM Forum TM 4.0. But ABR service connection, which is considered as appropriate service for data traffic, can be established with a small amount of bandwidth, MCR (Minimum cell rate). Furthermore ABR service can control the source's transmitting rate using feedback mechanism. Using this feature ABR service can be used in some applications which can control their quality of services corresponding to network loads. Compressed video sources with MPEG-2 are used for Long-Range Dependent VBR traffic here. We model the compressed video source to resemble the MPEG-2 transport streams. These compressed video traffic streams are consisted of three different frames, I-frame, P-frame, and B-frame. So when a network are overloaded, we can control the quality of service using this traffic features. TCP Traffics over ABR need large buffers in ATM switch to satisfy their QoS with background VBR traffics, which have high deviations in bandwidth. Furthermore satellite ATM networks with large feedback delay need large buffers corresponding RTT delay. The performance comparisons among EFCI and ER switch (ERICA+) switches in the network circumstances described above were shown in this paper. We also considered the case with ON-OFF VBR traffics.

In modern warfare, securing communication channel by combatting opponents' electromagnetic attack is a crucial factor to win the war. Military satellite digital transponder is a communication payload of the next generation military satellite that maintains warfare networks operational in the presence of interfering signals by securely relaying signals between ground terminals. The transponder in this paper is classified as a partial processing transponder which performs cost effective secure relaying in satellite communication links. The control functions of transmission security achieve immunity to hostile interferences which may cause malicious effects on the link. In this paper, we present an efficient architecture for implementing the control mechanism. Two major ideas of pipelined processing in per-group control and software processing of blocked band information dramatically reduce the complexity of the hardware. A control code sequence showing its randomness with uniform distribution is exemplified and qualification test results are briefly presented.

It is necessary for maritime multi-band networks, which provide ships with diverse and seamless multimedia services, to perform vertical handover. As IEEE 802.21 WG has standardized vertical handover technologies for terrestrial wireless networks that do not consider VHF, HF, satellite networks, they cannot be directly applied to maritime multi-band networks. In this paper, the vertical handover framework for use in maritime mutlti-band networks is proposed, which includes the logical architecture, the communication reference model, re-defined handover primitives, and the handover process. The proposed vertical handover for maritime multi-band network can be applied in the ocean alone, as well as to the heterogeneous wireless networks which embrace both terrestrial and maritime networks.

Wireless devices can communicate between each other without existing infrastructure in mobile Ad-hod network. Ad hoc networks can be used under difficult conditions, where it is difficult to construct infrastructures, such as shadowing areas, disaster areas, war area, and so on. In order to support to considerable and various wireless services, more spectrum resources are needed. However, efficient utilization of the frequency resource is difficult because of spectrum scarcity and the conventional frequency regulation. Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio (CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. In this paper, we simulate and compare the performance of conventional single and cooperative spectrum sensing with CR system using ad-hoc networks in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh channel model. And we demonstrate performance improvement by analyzing the system performance.

RF energy harvesting technology is a promising technology for generating the electrical power from ambient RF signal to operate low-power consumption devices(eg. sensor) in wireless communication networks. This paper, motivated by this and building upon existing CR(Cognitive Radio) network model, proposes a optimal control policy for RF energy harvesting CR networks model where secondary users that have low power consumption harvest ambient RF energy from transmission by nearby active primary users, while periodically sensing and opportunistically accessing the licensed spectrum to the primary user's network. We consider that primary users and secondary users are distributed as Poisson point processes and contact with their intended receivers at fixed distances. Finally we can derive the optimal frame duration, transmission power and density of secondary user from the proposed model that can maximize the secondary users's throughput under the given several conditions and suggest future directions of research.

Recently, RF energy harvesting technology is a promising technology for small-size IoT(Internet of Things) devices such as sensor to resolve battery scarcity problem. When applied to existing cognitive radio networks, this technology can be expected to increase network throughput through the increase of cognitive user's operating time. This paper proposes a optimal channel-selection policy for RF energy harvesting CR networks model where cognitive users in harvesting zone harvest ambient RF energy from transmission by nearby active primary users and the others in non-harvesting zone choose the channel and communicate with their receiver.
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) [1] has been tuned as a reliable transfer protocol for traditional networks comprising wired links and stationary hosts with same link characteristics. TCP assumes that congestion in the network be a primary cause for packet losses and unusual delays. TCP performs welt over such networks adapting to end-to-end delays and congestion losses, by standard congestion control mechanisms, such as slow-start, congestion avoidance, fast retransmit and recovery. However, networks with wireless and other lossy links suffer from significant losses due to bit errors and handoffs. An asymmetry network such as ADSL has different bandwidth for both directions. As a result, TCP's standard mechanisms incur end-to-end performance degradation in various links. In this paper, we analyze the TCP problems in wireless, satellite, and asymmetry links, and measure the new TCP mechanisms that are recommended by IETF Performance Implications of Link Characteristics (PILC) WG[2], by using Network Simulator 2 (NS-2).

The tactical mobile ad-hoc network(MANET) consists of distributed autonomous networks between individual ground nodes, which is effective in terms of network survivability and flexibility. However, due to constraints such as limited power, terrain, and mobility, frequent link disconnection and shadow area may occur in communication. On the other hand, the satellite network has the advantage of providing a wide-area wireless link overcoming terrain and mobility, but has limited bandwidth and high-latency characteristic. In the future battlefield, an integrated network architecture for interworking multi-layer networks through a heterogeneous network gateway (HNG) is required to overcome the limitations of the existing individual networks and increase reliability and efficiency of communication. In this paper, we propose a new HNG architecture and detailed algorithm that integrates satellite network and the tactical MANET and enables reliable data transfer based on flow characteristics of traffic. The simulations validated the proposed architecture using Riverbed Modeler, a network-level simulator.

The frequent handover problem and playing ping-pong effects in 5G (5th Generation) ultra-dense networking cannot be effectively resolved by the conventional handover decision methods, which rely on the handover thresholds and measurement reports. For instance, millimetre-wave LANs, broadband remote association techniques, and 5G/6G organizations are instances of group of people yet to come frameworks that request greater security, lower idleness, and dependable principles and correspondence limit. One of the critical parts of 5G and 6G innovation is believed to be successful blockage the board. With further developed help quality, it empowers administrator to run many systems administration recreations on a solitary association. To guarantee load adjusting, forestall network cut disappointment, and give substitute cuts in case of blockage or cut frustration, a modern pursuing choices framework to deal with showing up network information is require. Our goal is to balance the strain on BSs while optimizing the value of the information that is transferred from satellites to BSs. Nevertheless, due to their irregular flight characteristic, some satellites frequently cannot establish a connection with Base Stations (BSs), which further complicates the joint satellite-BS connection and channel allocation. SF redistribution techniques based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) have been devised, taking into account the randomness of the data received by the terminal. In order to predict the best capacity improvements in the wireless instruments of 5G and 6G IoT networks, a hybrid algorithm for deep learning is being used in this study. To control the level of congestion within a 5G/6G network, the suggested approach is put into effect to a training set. With 0.933 accuracy and 0.067 miss rate, the suggested method produced encouraging results.

Femtocells are viewed as a promising option for mobile operators to improve coverage and provide high-data-rate services in a cost-effective manner Femtocells can be used to serve indoor users, resulting in a powerful solution for ubiquitous indoor and outdoor coverage. TThe frequency accuracy and phase alignment is necessary for ensuring the quality of service (QoS) forapplications such as voice, real-time video, wireless hand-off, and data over a converged access medium at the femtocell. But, the GPS has some problem to be used at the femtocell, because it is difficult to set-up, depends on the satellite condition, and very expensive. The IEEE 1588 specification provides a low-cost means for clock synchronisation over a broadband Internet connection. The Time of Packet (ToP) specified in IEEE 1588 is able to synchronize distributed clocks with an accuracy of less than one microsecond in packet networks. However, the timing synchronization over packet switched networks is a difficult task because packet networks introduce large and highly variable packet delays. This paper proposes an enhanced filter algorithm to reduce ths packet delay variation effects and maintain ToP slave clock synchronization performance. The results are presented to demonstrate in the intra-networks and show the improved performance case when the efficient ToP filter algorithm is applied.
