Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic. Though this expert system is by now small and incomplete, it is possible to expand it to a larger and refined system later.rger and refined system later.

Many process modeling techniques, such as Petri-net, UML Activity Diagram, and EPC, are used to design process models. In this paper, we analyze ubiquitous process design based on workflow patterns. In particular, we focus on process design using active rules that have the form of Event-Condition-Action, and deal with the WS-ECA language, which was devised for ubiquitous web services coordination. We first check whether workflow patterns can be designed with ECA rules, and we then provide WS-ECA representations for ECA rules of the patterns. The contribution of this paper is that ECA rule-based process models were presented based on workflow patterns and they can be a guideline for ubiquitous process modeling.

This paper deals with the expert system using network configuration and input information composed of protective relays and tripped circuit breakers. This system has knowlegebase independent on network dimension because network representation consists of the type of the matrix. Therefore, the knowlege of network representation is simplified, the space of knowlege is reduced, the addition of facts to the knowlege is easy and the expansion of facts is possible. In this paper, the network representation is defined to system matrix. This expert system based on the system matrix diagnoses normal, abnormal operations of protective devices as well as possible fault sections. The brach and bound search technique is used: breadth first technique mixed with depth first technique of primitive PROLOG search technique. This system will be used for real time operations. This expert system obtaines the solution using the pattern matching in working memory without no listing approach for rule control. This paper is written in PROLOG, the A.I. language.

In these days, Entity-Relationship Model is the most popular modeling tool for designing databases, and XML is a de facto standard language for representing and exchanging data. But, because of many commercial products supporting Entity-Relationship Model use their's own representation formats, and thus it gives rise to difficulties the inter-operability between these products. In this paper, we propose an ERX, a generation tool of XML Schema from Entity-Relationship Model. ERX receives an Entity-Relationship Diagram as an input, transforms it based on transformation rules, and generates a XML Schema Definition as an output. Transformation rules contain entity set, relationship set, mapping cardinalities, and generalization.

A design system of dies for hot extrusion of structural shapes such as Z's, L's, T's, U's and H's from aluminium alloys was developed in this study. The developed design system of dies is based of estimated die design rule system. The design rules for die design are obtained from the handbooks, plasticity theories and relevant references. The environment of the system is AutoCAD and AutoLISP, the graphic programming language was used for the configuration of the system. This system includes five major modules such as section shape design module, die opening number module, die opening layout module, die correction module and die bearing design module that are used to determine design variables. This system would be used to design of dies for hot extrusion from aluminum alloys and widely used in manufacturing course.

International marketing, which is target market that overseas market is differ from environments and given conditions with a domestic market, is infinite variety shape of market as well as is differ from language, customs, sales habit, structure of market, and system of law, is changing dynamically. It is very difficult to develop, maintain and enlarge this market without practice of efficient sales promotion. But, majority of corporations in a country cannot recognize the importance of this, actually, they had been doing marketing by rule of thumb. So corporations of our country have to pass over simply importing and exporting, they have to promote international marketing strategy with an eye for a long period including technology and sales practice. Ultimately, they have to enlarge range of overseas business in quality and quantity. International marketing which is more advance and progressive sales strategy, has to collect overseas markets information speedily and exactly, and practice more specific marketing mix strategy based on collecting marketing information.

기계번역(Machine Translaton, MT), 다국어 정보 검색, 의미 정보 검색 등에 대한 연구는 시소러스, 지식베이스, 사전 검색, 의미망, 코퍼스등과 같은 다양한 방법으로 이루어지고 있다. 시맨틱 웹이 등장과 시맨틱 웹 기반 기술의 발전에 따라 위 연구들을 시맨틱 웹에 적용시킬 필요성도 제안되었다. 특히 한국어 시소러스, 워드넷(WordNet), 전자 세종 사전, 가도까와(Kadokawa) 시소러스와 같은 지식베이스가 개발되었으나 활용 분야에 따라 그 구축 방법론이 다르게 적용되어, 위 연구에 효과적으로 통용될 수 있는 지식베이스는 실질적으로 구축되지 못한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 세종 사전과 가도까와 시소러스, 한/일 기계 번역 사전 그리고 전문 용어 사전을 기반으로 한국어와 일본어 지식베이스를 위한 사전 온톨로지 서버를 정의하여 의미 정보를 구성하고, Semantic Web Rule Markup Language (이하 SWRL)을 이용해 구문 정보 규칙을 정의한다. 그리고 SWRL 기반 정방향 추론 엔진을 이용하여 번역에 필요한 추론 엔진을 구성하고 문장 구문형성 규칙 추론 엔진을 통해 사용자에게 한국어와 일본어의 문장 구성 변환을 제공한다. 본 연구는 현재 기계 번역이 갖고 있는 다의성, 술부 어순의 차이, 경어체 등 아직 해결해야 할 많은 부분들에 대한 해결 방안으로서 시맨틱 웹 기반 기술과의 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다.

This paper aims to classify objects and their properties represented in Korea Building Act sentences for applying to BIM-enabled automated code compliance checking task. In order to conduct automated code compliance checking, it is necessary to develop translation process of converting the building act sentences into computer-executable forms. However, since Korea building act sentences are written in natural language, some of requirements are ambiguous to translate explicitly. In this regard, the building act sentences regarding building permit requirements are analyzed focusing on the regulation-specific objects and related properties representation from noun phrases within the scope of this paper. From 1977 building act sentences and attached reference regulations, 1200 regulation-specific objects and about 220 related properties are extracted and classified. In the application for the classification, object-property database is implemented and some of application using the database and the regulation-specific classification is suggested to support to generate rule set written in computable codes.

To catch the message of Taoism inside the theory of Korean medicine, we have to understand the contents of Tao Te Ching(道德經) the only writings of Lao-tzu(老子). And to do that, precise translation into Korean language must be held before anything else. There have been a little bit more than 50 Korean versions of Tao-te-Ching, and we screened out 10 versions based on academic value. With them, we had a study on the translation of Tao Te Ching, from chapter 1 to 20. Our study found that the existing 10 versions have some obscure words, wrong paragraph classifications, descriptions out of context needing remedial actions for exact understanding. And Chinese words and phrases with various meanings could be translated correctly with our constant rule that values consistent context.

In this paper, autonomous information exchange methodology is studied between IEDs using SOAP protocol based on XML and PtP communication to archive the safety and reliability of large-scale system operation. The SOAP protocol has the advantages in the independency Problem for operating systems, using language, platforms and the security problem because it is XML-based RPC protocol. Inference-based solution of the IED is designed as rule-based solution so that the IED internal status, the system status or the faulted zone can be inferred autonomously using the internal data as well as information data obtained from free information exchange among other IEDS, Also, it is designed so that the inference results and the operation information are transmitted to the above SCADA system, and determined autonomously whether the commands from the SCADA are executed or not. Finally, The inference-based solution of IED and information exchange system among IEDS is implemented using MS Visual C++ MFC, MS SOAP and MS XML. Availability and accuracy of the proposed methodology and the design is verified from diversity simulation reviews for typical distribution substation.
