굽힘하중에 대한 퇴행성 추간판의 생체역학적 특성 분석 (Biomechanical Behaviors of Disc Degeneration on Bending Loads)

  • Aging has been recognized as the primary cause of disc degeneration. A biomechanical characteristics of disc degeneration has been demonstrated that intradiscal pressure is reduced. With the increasing population of elderly people, disc degeneration and associated problems of nerve entrapment are becoming more prevalent. Presently, research on reduced intradiscal pressure associated with degeneration is insufficient. In this study. we used the Finite Element Method (FEM) of computerized simulations to investigate the effects of variation in intradiscal pressure on mechanical behaviours of L4-5 intervertebral disc degeneration. Degeneration was classified using four grades based on initial intradiscal pressure; Normal (135 kPa), mild(107 kPa), moderate (47 kPa) and severe (15 kPa). The predicted results f3r bending loads were as follows; 1 . Range of motion increased progressively with severity of degeneration with flexion and lateral bending moments, but decreased with extension moments. 2. Discal bulging of posterolateral aspect was larger in lateral bending and extension moment. But bulging was increased with severity of degeneration in lateral bending and torsion(same side).3. The rate of increasing intradiscal pressure was decreased in all bending motions with severity of degeneration. In conclusion, lateral bending and extension moment yield greatest bulging in severe degeneration. In torsion, although bending load produces disc bulging, disc bulging was associated more strongly with severity of degeneration than increasing torsional moments. Clinical Implications: Discal bulging may produce nerve root impingement and irritation. The effect of loading and posture on the varying degrees of disc degeneration has important implications especially in the elderly. In the presence of disc degeneration, avoidance of end range postures, especially extension and lateral bending may help reduce discal bulging and in turn, nerve entrapment.

Effects of altering medium strength and sucrose concentration on in vitro germination and seedling growth of Cypripedium macranthos Sw.

  • The genus Cypripedium, known as lady's slipper orchid, has been considered to have a considerable marketability as a potted and garden plant with beautiful flowers; however, this species is becoming endangered and, in some places extinct, due to habitat destruction and illegal collections. As such, an optimized artificial propagation system is necessary for its conservation and horticultural cultivation. For the establishment of the in vitro proliferation of the endangered Cypripedium macranthos Sw., native to Korea, the effects of medium strength and sucrose concentrations on germination, protocorm formation and seedling growth were investigated through asymbiotic seed culture. The highest germination rate and protocorm formation rate were obtained with a 1/4 MS medium; higher MS medium strengths did not generate the favorable conditions required for germination and protocorm growth. The overall growth characteristics of roots and buds developed from protocorms were best in cultures of 1/4 MS medium. On this medium containing $10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sucrose, both the germination rate and protocorm formation rate increased significantly. The general growth properties of seedlings developed on the medium with $10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sucrose were best, showing the highest bud formation rate and root number. Our results demonstrate that the 1/4 MS medium, supplemented with $10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sucrose, could improve in vitro germination, and facilitate the growth of seedlings developed from the protocorms of C. macranthos Sw.

  • 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 '빅 데이터'의 사회적 잠재성을 정부의 대국민 서비스와 연계지어, 정부의 행정서비스 혁신에 빅데이터의 사상이 기여할 수 있는 구체적 방안을 모색하였다. 특히 주민 생활공간과 정부 업무공간의 이원화가 초래한 정부 행정서비스의 본원적 한계를 행정 프로세스의 외부 확장을 통해 극복할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 이로부터 제기될 수밖에 없는 선결과제, 즉 주민 공간의 각종 사물데이터를 어떻게 행정 데이터 영역에 편입할 것인가에 대한 논의를 포함하였다. 이로써 행정서비스 영역에 대한 빅데이터 기반 조성이 신고와 신청에 의존하던 수동적 행정서비스를 선제적으로 바꿔내는데 어떤 역할을 할 수 있는지에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

구기자를 이용한 전통주의 제조 및 생리 기능성 (Manufacture and Physiological Functionality of Korean Traditional Wine by Using Gugija (Lycii fructus))

  • 구기자(Lycii fructus)를 이용한 새로운 고부가가치의 전통주를 개발하기 위하여 먼저 구기자 열매를 이용하여 제조되는 구기자 전통주에 지골피, 두충, 감초와 민들레를 0.1%-3.0%까지 각각 순차적으로 첨가하여 발효주를 제조한 후 에탄올 생성량과 기호도를 측정하였다. 구기자 전통주에 지골피 0.1%, 두충 0.1%, 감초와 민들레 각각 1.0%를 덧밥에 첨가하여 발효시켰을 때 에탄올이 가장 많이 생성되었고 전체적인 기호도도 우수하였다. 여기에 구기자 잎을 0.1%, 0.5%, 1.0%씩 각각 첨가하여 구기자 전통주를 제조한 후 관능검사를 실시한 결과 구기자 잎을 0.1% 첨가하여 제조한 전통주가 기호도가 제일 높았고 항고혈압 활성을 나타내는 ACE 저해활성도 68.5%로 비교적 우수하였다.

Baum-Welch 학습법을 이용한 HMM 기반 대역폭 확장법 (HMM-Based Bandwidth Extension Using Baum-Welch Re-Estimation Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 HMM 기반 통계적인 대역폭 확장(Bandwidth Extension, BWE) 방법의 개선에 대해 다룬다. 이를 위해 우선, HMM 모델 학습을 위한 기존의 Jax의 학습법과 일반적인 Baum-Welch 학습법의 관계를 비교 검토하고, Jax의 학습법의 한계점 및 문제점을 검토한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 Baum-Welch학습법을 이용한 새로운 HMM 기반 BWE 방법을 제시한다. 결론적으로, Baum-Welch 학습법은 Jax의 학습법의 일반화된 형태로 볼 수 있으며, 보다 유연하고 적응적인 학습능력을 가진 알고리즘임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 학습 데이터에 대한 보다 정확한 HMM 모델링이 가능하며 아울러, 이와 같이 개선된 HMM 모델을 활용함으로써 BWE 시스템의 성능향상을 가져 올 수 있었다. 실험결과에 의하면, 제시된 새로운 방법이 기존의 Jax의 방법에 비해 실험의 모든 경우에서 우수한 성능을 보임을 알 수 있다. 주어진 실험조건하에서 근제곱평균(root-mean-square, RMS) 로그 스펙트럴 왜곡(Log Spectral Distortion, LSD) 값이 전체적으로 평균 0.52dB 그리고, 최소 0.31dB에서 최대 0.8dB까지 개선되었다.

소형 수박 시설 재배 시 관수개시점에 따른 토양수분 함량별 생육, 수량 및 생리적 반응 특성 구명 (Characteristics of Growth, Yield, and Physiological Responses of Small-Sized Watermelons to Different Soil Moisture Contents Affected by Irrigation Starting Point in a Plastic Greenhouse)

  • 본 연구는 시설 내 소형 수박 재배 시 관수개시점에 따른 토양수분 함량별 생육, 수량 및 생리적 반응 특성의 차이를 구명하고 소형 수박 생산에 유리한 관수조건을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 토양수분 센서를 이용하여 정식 후 14일부터 수확 7 ~ 10일 전까지 관수개시점별 5처리(-10, -20, -30, -40, 50 kPa)를 두어 관수하였다. 토양수분 함량이 가장 낮은 개시점-50 kPa 처리에서 전반적인 지상부 생육특성은 저조하였으나, 근장 및 뿌리 건물율은 증가하였다. 광합성률, 기공전도도 및 증산율 비교 시, 관수개시점-50 kPa 처리에서 가장 낮았고, -20 kPa ~ -40 kPa 처리 시 광합성률은 높게 조사되었다. 착과율 및 총 상품수량은 -30 kPa 및 -40 kPa 처리에서 각각 84.7 ~ 85.5%, 5,144 ~ 5,305 kg/10a으로 유의하게 증가하였다. 식물체의 외부환경 관련 스트레스 지표 물질로 알려진 프롤린, ABA, 총 페놀 및 시트룰린의 함량은 토양수분 함량이 낮아질수록 증가하였으며, 특히 관수개시점-50 kPa 처리에서 가장 높게 조사되었다. 따라서 이와 같은 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 시설 내 안정적인 소형 수박 생산을 위하여 관수개시점을 -30 kPa ~ -40 kPa 수준으로 조정하여 토양수분 함량을 조절하는 것이 수박 생육 향상 및 상품수량 증대에 가장 유리한 것으로 판단되었다.

Comparison of Growth Characteristics and Inorganic Components Between Korean and Japanese Codonopsis lanceolata

  • This study was performed to investigate the growth characteristics and inorganic components of Codonopsis lanceolata regarding regional differences. The plant height of Japanese Codonopsis lanceolata was 373.6 cm, so it's revealed that it has more vigorous growth than Korean won. The flowering time of Korean Codonopsis lanceolata was 2 weeks faster than Japanese one. Total fresh weight of root was 41.0 g and 39.0 g for Korean and Japanese respectively, thus, no significance difference was found. However, regarding fresh weight, Korean one had a more fresh weight (35.4 g) of main root parts, but Japanese one had a more fresh weight (9.6 g) of the lateral root part. Each inorganic component was found more in the aboveground parts, regardless of the region and the content of K was the largest. Regarding the content of macroelements for each part of Codonopsis lanceolata, the content of Na, Mg, P, S, and Ca in Korean Codonopsis lanceolata was found the highest on the leaf, followed by stem and root. In the case of Japanese Codonopsis lanceolata, same result was found on the content of Mg and Ca, however, the highest content of Na and P was found in the stem.

국소의치 유지장치의 설계변화에 따른 지지조직의 3차원적 유한요소법 응력분석 (A 3-DIMENSIONAL FINITE ELEMENT STRESS ANALYSIS ON THE SUPPORTING TISSUES OF REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES WITH VARIOUS RETAINER DESIGNS)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress distribution developed in the supporting structures by mandibular distal extension removable partial dentures with 2 different direct retainer designs and with or without indirect retainer and abutment splinting. The examined direct retainers on the second bicuspid abutment tooth were Akers clasp and RPA clasp, the indirect retainer was located on the mesial fossa of the first bicuspid, and the first and second bicuspid were splinted in case of tooth splinting. Total 8 cases were compared and analyzed with 3-dimensional finite element method. 150N were applied vertically on the artificial teeth of the removable partial denture, and then stress distribution patterns were analyzed and compared. The results were as follows : 1. The forces transmitted to the abutment tooth were primarily from the occlusal rests. 2. The abutment tooth was displaced distally when the force was applied. The compressive stress was observed at the distal root surface of the abutment tooth and the tensile stress, at the mesial root surface. 3. The denture base was displaced posteriorly and inferiorly when the force was applied. At the more distal portion of the denture base, the greater displacement was observed.And the anterior portion of the major connector was displaced superiorly. 4. The occlusal rest placed on the distal part of the abutment tooth tended to tip the tooth more posteriorly than did one on the mesial part of that tooth. 5. Severe superior displacement was observed at the anterior portion of the major connector in case of removable partial dentures without indirect retainer. 6. In case of tooth-splinting, the stress was distributed through all the root surface of both abuments. In case of no tooth-splinting, the stress was concentrated on the distal root surface of the primary abutment.

Biocontrol of Korean Ginseng Root Rot Caused by Phytophthora cactorum Using Antagonistic Bacterial Strains ISE13 and KJ1R5

  • In this biocontrol research, we evaluated disease suppressive effects of antagonistic bacterial strains ISE13 and KJ1R5 against Korean ginseng root rot caused by P. eaetorum. We also examined the effects of nutrient solution in the hydroponic culture system for Korean ginseng on biological activity of the bacterial strains. As results of dual culture tests of the bacterial strains on $V_{8}$ juice agar, the strain ISE13 showed antifungal activity against P. eaetorum and other plant pathogenic fungi, but the strain KJ1R5 did not. When their inhibitory effects against infection of P. eaetorum on the roots grown in either nutrient solution or water were tested, the strains ISE13 and KJ1R5 inhibited the disease severity of Korean ginseng roots only grown with water, compared to buffer-treated, inoculated controls. However, the nutrient solution used for hydroponic cultures of ginseng in pots caused higher levels of disease severity by the strains ISE13 and KJ1R5 from 418.8\%$ to 40.0\%$ and from 24.3\%$ to 45.0\%$, respectively. In this study, the bacterial strains ISE13 and KJ1R5 could be potentially biocontrol agents to suppress Korean ginseng root rot caused by P. eaetorum. However, more attention using nutrient solution in hydroponic cultures for Korean ginseng production should be applied in biocontrol of plant diseases using the antagonistic microorganisms.

오미자 대량증식을 위한 삽목번식 효율증대에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Cuttings for Mass Propagation Affecting the Impact of Increasing Reproductive Efficiency of Schisandra chinensis)

  • This experiment was carried out to establish the optimum cutting time, plant growth regulator, and bed-soil for rooting by greenwood cutting of Schisandra chinensis. Approximately 7 cm long-shoots of greenwood cuttings were transplanted by various cutting times, plant growth regulators, and bed-soils in the plastic-film house. The rooting rate of greenwood cutting was 12.5% in the April 5th, 73.5% in the May 8th, and 75.5% in the August 5th. The number and length of primary root in greenwood cutting were more in the early May than those in the early August. For mass propagation of Schisandra chinensis. using greenwood cutting, shoots were treated with plant growth regulators on May to increase rooting rate. Rooting rate was 100% with IAA $50mg/{\ell}$, 92.9% with NAA $100mg/{\ell}$, and NAA $1,000mg/{\ell}$, for 60 min. To select effective media for rooting, various medias for bed-soil were treated by single and mixture form for 100 days after cutting. Rooting rate was 91.8% in the single treatment of peat moss or decomposition of granite soil, and this result was better than those in other treatment. The treatment by 1 : 1 mixture of peat moss and horticulture bed soil was rooting with 94.0% best rooting rate.
