Purpose: To analyze the frequency of emergency room visits according to socioeconomic factors of emergency room visitors. Methods: In this study, frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and x2 test were performed using the SPSS 23.0 program based on the 2018 data from the Korea Health Panel. Results: Among 1,648 participants included in this study, 1,279 visited the emergency room only once in the past year, while 369 visited the emergency room more than once. The relationship between frequency of emergency room visits and socioeconomic factors was analyzed using x2 test, and no statistically significant relationship was noted between emergency room visits and education, economic activity, insurance type, and individual quartile income. However, a significant relationship was noted between emergency room visits and being handicap and living in households with quintile income. Conclusion: The study determined the relationship between frequency of emergency room visits and socioeconomic factors. A follow-up study analyzing socioeconomic factors of outpatient departments, 119 ambulance transport services, and frequency of emergency room visits among chronically ill patients is needed to provide basic data for establishing health policies among different socioeconomic strata.
This study was conducted under the premise that the university library's subject specialization room is in need of major modifications in order to accommodate the needs of various majors. The subject specialization room will be able to support university library users who are inclined to use the general reading room. Therefore, the study presents spatial planning for the average university library's subject specialization room by taking into account student majors. This could be a guideline for the construction and renovation of university libraries in the future. The summary of results for this study and the conclusions are as follows: 1)Natural sciences subject specialization room should be, partially connected with the humanities/social science subject specialization room in order to provide an open-concept reference room. In the shared area connecting the two subject specialization rooms needs to be installed a staff counter and subject specialist librarian service booth for users of both subject specialization rooms. 2)For humanities/social sciences subject specialization room, partially connect with the natural sciences subject specialization room. In the connecting area between the two rooms, plan an open-concept lounge for resting and reading. 3)It is best to plan subject specialization room for art/music/physical education majors separate from the subject specification room of other majors. Structurally separate art/music/physical education major subject specialization rooms from the building or plan a separate room in an art/music/physical education building. Users of art/music/physical education majors showed a high preference for a spatially separated and specialized library structure, which proves that an art/music/physical education library need to be planed based on the specialized library structure found in law school libraries or medical school libraries. Plan the center of the room with open-concept based reading room. Use wall-sides, partitions, or shelves to create reading space separate from the shelving area.
Purpose: Ths study aims to examine characteristics of patients using emergency room after execution of five-day workweek system by government and provide basic materials for operation of efficient emergency room. Methods: Data were collected tbrough medical records of patients visiting emergency room from July of 2004 to October of 2006 and they were analyzed with SPSSlPC 10.0. Conclusion : 1. The number of patients visiting emergency room was average 16.7 persons a day in 2004, 17.5 in 2005 and 18.6 in 2006 and it was found that it was increasing every year since the execution of five-day workweek system 2. Gender distribution of subjects using emergency room was higher in male than in female every year. 3. Means of transport to emergency room were mostly private car and others(public transport or on foot), but use of ambulance was increasing. 4. Residential areas of subjects were mostly 'Myeon area' in 2004~2005, but it was changed to residents at 'Eup area' in 2006. 5. Distribution of patients by medical departments was highest in internal medicine and surgery in 2004~2006 and rate of visiting pediatrics was increasing every year. 6. Time to stay at emergency room was most at 'below 30 min'. in 2004~2006, but cases of stay for 'more than 2 hours' were increasing every year. 7. On presence or absence of trauma in patients visiting emergency room, rate of visit to emergency room with 'no trauma' was higher and this result was increasing every year. 8. As a result of classifying severity of patients visiting emergency room, use rate of emergency room by 'non-emergency' patients was over 90% in 2004~2006 and such a phenomenon was deepened in 2006 compared to that in 2004. 9. Measures after emergency care of patients were most in case of 'discharge' in 2004~2006, but cases of admission to hospital after emergency care were increased every year. 10. According to use of emergency room by a day of the week, use on Sunday was most frequent in 2004~2006, but use on Friday the day before holiday was increasing. 11. According to distribution by age, use by those between '40~49' was most in 2004~2005, but use by those 'below 10' was most in 2006. 12. According to time to visit emergency room, using emergency room at "15:31~23:30 was most in 2004~2006, cases of visiting emergency room at day working hour were decreased every year and those at evening and night working hours were increased. Conclusion: In sum, it was found that characteristics of patients visiting emergency room and their actual status were changed after the execution of five-day workweek system and efforts to rearrange emergency medical system are required.

Purpose: As the improvement in quality of medical environment and the spatial consideration for the prevention of infection in the hospital have become increasingly important in the recent years, specific and practical planning for air conditioning room's area has become a major issue accordingly. However, the air conditioning room tends to be discussed focusing on technical factors such as air conditioning systems that are irrelevant to building plans, while discussions of most departments related to the medical functions have actively taken placed. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the factors influencing the planning for the air conditioning room area, and through subsequent analysis of the area of the air conditioning room, to propose a way to improve effective planning for the air conditioning room area. Methods: This study examines the case hospitals that fall into two types: each floor supply system and concentrated supply system, and compares and analyzes the air conditioning room area-related factors and the characteristics of changes in the interior of air conditioning room before and after remodeling through air conditioning floor plan of those case hospitals. Results: The air conditioning room can be classified into the net area of the functional space such as duct passages, and the public area such as aisle space, and of those the public area is an important factor in calculating the area of the air conditioning room. The public area of the air-conditioning room should not be planned considering only the spaces for mobile passage or maintenance activities, but should be planned taking into account internal changes such as expansion and replacement of equipment in the future from the beginning. Implications: When planning a medical facility, it is used as basic data for the planning of the air conditioning room area, which is a significant fixed factor in the initial setting.
The purpose of this study is to find out the changes on the metropolitan condominium apartment unit plans based on the interior spaces related to women such An-bang (master bedroom), bathroom and attached spaces to the master bedroom, living room, diningroom, kitchen, utility room, and balcony. This study used the content analysis method and space syntax. Contents were limited to the floor plans with 3 rooms type and about 105 m2 in the Korean apartment encyclopedia. The unit plans of 2,278, built from October 1975 to January 2008, were analyzed and basically SPSS package 16.0 was employed. The results were as followed. 1) Living room was a core space and an increasing tendency. After 2001, the design trend of living room connected with kitchen and dining room, and dining room changed into one space combining with women's working space such kitchen. It meaned women's working activities became into family public activities as to depending open access. 2) Kitchen had a characteristics that was connected to utility room or back balcony, and the number of extra kitchen increased. Also, the size of DK decreased, but utility size little increased. It was showed the characteristic of this space was still for women. 3) An-bang had a little strong characteristics of married coulpe or women's personal space with bathroom or dress room/powder room. 4) In addition, the values of integration and control of living room and DK were highest. It meant these space were centered in unit plans. Next, the An-bang and dress room/powder room were high. Utility room or balcony's were next, and these were women's working space. Therefore, family's public space was most important, and married couple or women's personal and working space were later in planning.
The residential environment is a place which reflects the gradual evolution of human consciousness because it is a cultural space the term, 'houses' is not relevant in this context as it literally means 'contains'. The long history of human living habits cannot be 'contained' within a space, but can be 'expressed' by a space and by the way the space is used. Furthermore, due to the way it is typically constructed, the basic characteristics of the house usually cannot be rapidly changed to accommodate new habits. However, recent changes that have taken place to the characteristics of the traditional master room suggest that traditional societal values associated with patriarchy have diminished. The current trend where priority is given to children's education also affects such a change. Existing researches related to the master room is confined to the behavioral use of the space and the composition of the physical space, while research on the master room its plane type has not been carried out. Therefore, in this study, apartment model houses are selected, and are classified according to the types of master room. An analysis is then carried out of the master room based on the occupants' requirements in terms of consciousness. Any planning modifications where required are then suggested. This research comprises the followings stages. First, an examination is carried out of existing research on the master room in order to understand its background and spatial components. A definitiones of related terms is also provided. Second, an analysis is carried out of the model houses exhibited at Suwan District, examining the typical standard that has been selected for the master room. Third, an analysis is conducted of the topics and questions to be selected for a questionnaire. Fourth, an analysis is carried out of the consciousness, satisfaction and requirements of the residents, as respondents in the questionnaire, related to the master room. and Research is then conducted of the architectural methods for planning the master room. Finally, future countermeasures for planning the master room are described based on the above analysis and research findings.

In this study, the reverberation characteristics of coupled spaces were investigated using a scale model. Two rooms were connected through an acoustically transparent opening known as an aperture. The acoustic characteristics of the coupled room by varying three parameters, the aperture opening size, the absorption ratio between the two rooms and the locations of the secondary room, were measured and analysed. The results indicated that a reverberant secondary room, produced large variations of the acoustics in the main room and an absorptive secondary room was effective to provide systematic control of the acoustics in the main room. The reverberant secondary room should be located at the rear of the stage and the aperture opening ratio over 6.25% produced large variations of the acoustics in the main room. However, the aperture opening ratio over 25% had no effect on variations of the acoustics in the main room. The absorptive secondary room should be located at the rear of the audience areas and the aperture opening ratio over 3.13% produced large variations of the acoustics in the main room.

This study is designed to measure the indoor environment and research on the environmental situation in the lecture room where the lecture is conducted during the winter time in order to understand the level of environment in the lecture room and then suggest the method of improving the environment in the lecture room in the future. The findings are as follows. First, the number of ventilation measured at Lecture Room 1 was 1.2 times/hour while that at Lecture Room 2 was 2.2 times/hour. Second, the lighting at Lecture Room 1 and 2 was 650~700 lux while the noise at Lecture Room 1 and 2 was not more than 60dB. Third, Group 1 and Group 2 felt in the same way that the air quality in the lecture room was not good when the air quality was measured in 30 minutes after the start of lecture. Fourth, both Group 1 and Group 2 showed the lowered concentration on the class in 30 minutes after the start of the class when the room was heated. But Group 1 got less drop in the concentration when they was put in the non-heated room. Fifth, As for the change in the carbon dioxide volume during lecture, the carbon dioxide volume in the room where the windows was closed rose 1,000~1,400ppm from that at the time of start, thus showing that the indoor air quality got worsened. In addition, it is hard to control the indoor temperature due to the heating and non-heating. Accordingly, it is necessary to get the heating system which can make the ventilation in order to keep the environmental level in the lecture room to a certain level and keep the proper indoor temperature.

This aim of the study is to investigate the plan and elevation types of existing way stations built in the early 20th century Korea, focused on Choong-ang, Donghae-nambu, and Kyung-jeon line of the railroad tracklines. The plans and elevations are drawn up and analyzed based on literature data and aerial photographs through the survey. These way stations are classified into various types by room layout and front elevation. The basic plan types are composed of waiting room, station service room, and administration. The station service room has a train operation room in the projecting part of corner. This room has windows on every side to see in and out of train. There are the enlarged, extended waiting room types, and linear types in the other plan types. The waiting room is lied on the right side, and has a gable roof in elevation. The elevation types are classified with side and centralized, and so on by the placement and shape of gable roofs. The basic elevation types have gable roofs in sides lied on the waiting room, and these types are transformed into centralized types by extension of waiting room The others are the linear types without gable roofs and the unusual roof types in appearance.
This study examines and analyzes plan of Hanok which has been newly built at rural areas in Jeollanam-do province and is to present the direction in setting architectural plan of Hanok at rural areas. For the purpose of this study, analyzed the types of Hanok based on the topological characteristics of main house and main spaces including room, living room and kitchen. Five types of 105 Hanoks, type-I, type-II, type-III, type-IV and type-V were drawn on the based of the shape of main house and topological characteristics of main rooms including room, living room and kitchen. Type-I had spatial composition of main rooms in a row and showed similar shape of main house with traditional private houses in Honam region, type-II showed placement of living room in center and main rooms beside it, type-III showed change of type-II and placed kitchen and annex behind living room and similar plan composition with type-III and secured the area of living room and rooms by enlarging the number of rooms, and type-V had the shape of main house with twisted form and placed living room in the center and each room at side or twisted part to ensure openness of living room.
