Efficacy and safety of drugs are evaluated in the process of drug registration along with the basis of setting test method and acceptance criteria for assuring quality of the drugs. Quality of drugs plays a key role to guarantee the efficacy and safety of drugs approved in the evaluation process at the marketing stage after approval. Most important role of pharmacopoeia is to give the basis of assuring the quality of drugs. (omitted)

With advances in technology, advances in the understanding of biology of cancer, and the advent of improved and novel therapies, the role of the gastroenterologist has been modified greatly over the past 2 decades, and continues to be shaped by the knowledge, skill, and opportunity to capitalize on the unique position that gastroenterologists hold in the patient care continuum. The gastroenterologist is evolving from a "pure" diagnostician to an endoscopic surgeon, a geneticist, a nutritionist, an immunologist and chemotherapist, and palliative care physician.

This article is concerned to investigate the changing nature of the role of the state in relation to industrial policy to foster the IT industry in the Republic of Korea. In doing this, it has started with economic globalization introduced to the Korean political economy since the late 1980s. It has identified in what ways the state responded to the change, and to what extent the role of the state has fundamentally been changed in the context of policy mechanism in the process towards facilitating the IT industry in Korea. In addition, it presented how the state played a role in skill formation in relation to the industrial policy. In consequence, the role of the Korean state in fostering the IT industry has fundamentally changed from that as the developmental state in the industrialization process. In the process, that the strategic co-ordination role of the state and relations between the state and private capitals and societies are very significant to achieve the economic goal is presented as results, as well as some future tensions that would encounter in the way of charting the current policies.

This study chiefly aims to find out the efficient ways of organizing teams of architectural design projects. In order to reach this goal, this study analyzed (1) specialties of students' projects during semesters in architectural design studios, (2) teaching methods relevant to architectural design education, (3) division of role play in architectural studios and organizing method that students prefer. Besides, in order to clarify the principles of practical project team organization and to find out more efficient methods in team organization, this study executed archival research on (1) specialties of team organization rules and principles in architectural firms, (2) types and merits of projects teams, (3) efficient methods of dividing roles. For the students project of the studio, it is desirable to switch the roles of team leader and staff members of the team to make members' feeling of participating the decision making of the project progress. In architectural design team, since the high productivity was valued beyond individual preferences, the team organization and and work split was done on the basis of (1) experiences, (2) design ability, (3) schedule of the project, etc. However, for the continuous motivation and enthusiasm for the firms, it is required to study efficient ways of team organization.

This study is about family discourses of social workers in Korea. The purpose of this study is to gain suggestions of relatedness between discourse and practice by grasping the contents and meaning of discourses in social workers. 10 social workers in various fields were interviewed for this study. The results are followed: First, social workers understand family as a private space which have a meaning of shelter and refuge. Second, there are gaps between consciousness and practice of division of gender role in family. But social workers generally are inclined toward receiving division of gender role in family and applied to their family practice. Third, monolithic family image have a tendency of versatility in family structure, is inclined toward the division of gender role and myth of motherhood. Fourth, social workers perceived emotional tie as important nature of family solidarity and family as natural institution. Also these discourses of social workers were applied to their family practice. The results of this study reveals possibility that social work practice can be discoursive practice or interpretive practice.

Background: Although neuropathic pain is a severe and common pain, its pathophysiology has not been elucidated yet. Studies in recent years have focused on the immune system's role in the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of immunological mechanisms in neuropathic pain and the effect of pregabalin by measuring immunological marker levels in peripheral blood before and after pregabalin treatment in postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) patients with neuropathic pain. Methods: Forty patients diagnosed with PHN were included in the study. CD4, T follicular cells (Tfh: CD4⁺CXCR5⁺PD1⁺), Th17 (CD4⁺CCR6⁺ and CD4⁺IL17A⁺), regulatory T cells (Treg: CD4⁺ CD25⁺foxp3⁺), Th1 (CD4⁺ CXCR3⁺ and CD4⁺ IFN-γ⁺) and Th2 (CD4⁺ IL-4⁺) cell ratios were measured in peripheral blood samples before treatment and after 3 months of treatment. Results: When immunological marker and inflammation parameter levels were compared before and after treatment, the helper T cell ratio (CD3⁺, CD4⁺) was 30.28 ± 12.27% before treatment and 34.93 ± 11.70% after treatment, so there was a statistically significant increase (P = 0.028). Th17 was 4.75 ± 5.02% before treatment and 5.80 ± 3.13% after treatment, and there was a statistically significant increase (P = 0.036). Conclusions: Immunological mechanisms play an essential role in the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain, immunologically based treatment approach will be the critical point of treatment.

Bundles of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNTs) were grown using catalytic layer supported by self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). Amine-SAMs were introduced on SiO2/Si substrate (SAMs/Si) there then iron nanoclusters solution was dropped on it through spin-coating (Fe/SAMs/Si). This catalytic template was used to grow CNTs and the synthesized carbon material was confirmed the bundles of dense SWCNTs with incorporation of ca.1% nitrogen. The SAMs has played an active role to support catalytic layer and also acted as a source of N-dope onto SWCNTs in CVD.

Food labelling is the primary means of communication between the producer and purchaser and plays an important role in consumer's choice of food. Food labelling applying to livestock products, such as meat products (ham, sausage etc.), milk products(milk, fermented milk, butter and cheese etc.) and egg Products is regulated by 'Livestock Products Labelling Standard', National Veterinary Research & Quarantine Service (NVRQS) Notification. This study presents the principles of Korean milk products labelling provision and its recent revision to prevent consumer from misunderstanding and facilitate fair trade practices in market and also keep consistencies with international and relative national regulations. This study also suggests milk products labelling policy direction in the future.

To achieve the high reliability performance in IPS cell, finding a good combination of Liquid Crystal (LC) materials and Polyimide (PI) is very important as they play a key role in IPS cell. Several LC materials and PIs have been introduced for preparation of their different combinations. Electro optical characteristics such as voltage holding ratio, residual DC and AC image sticking have been investigated for the different system of the LC material and PI in the test panels in an attempt to find the effects on the display reliability performance and image sticking.1)3)
