  • This paper presents dynamic modeling and control analysis of a military vehicle suspension featuring MR valve structure. Firstly, the dynamic model of the suspension system which is included gas spring, MR valve and gas chamber is established with respect to the disturbance. Secondly, the friction model of the suspension system is derived by considering experiment result of the MR suspension system. And then, response characteristics of the damping force with respect to the magnetic field and friction force with the proposed friction model are provided to show the feasibility of practical application. In addition, control performance of the proposed MR suspension system is evaluated with quarter vehicle.

  • A mathematical model was developed to simulate sideways overturning of agricultural tractor-trailer systems. Sideways overturn of a tractor-trailer system was described by oscillatory motions of the tractor with respect to the first and second tipping axes, and of the trailer with respect to the drawbar hitch point when either the tractor or trailer rides over an obstacle on slopes. By a computer simulation, critical slope angles of the ground on which the tractor-trailer system is likely to sideways overturn were evaluated under the given operational conditions. Validity of the proposed mathematical model was proved by comparing the results of computer simulation and experiment with a model tractor-trailer system. A close agreement was observed between the two results.

  • Previous HI survey data have shown that the central HI gas in the Milky Way that resides within ~1.5 kpc of the Galactic Centre (GC) is tilted by ${\sim}15^{\circ}$ with respect to the Galactic plane. Although several models, such as a tilted disk model, have been suggested to interpret the observed morphology of the HI layer, it is still unknown what causes and how it preserves its tilted structure. We study the behavior of a gas disk near the GC using an N-body / SPH code. Our galaxy model includes four components; nuclear bulge, bulge, disk and halo. We construct a HI model whose radius is 1.3 kpc, scale height is 100 pc and mass is $3.6{\times}10^6M_{\odot}$. We also assume that the gas disk is initially tilted $30^{\circ}$ with respect to the Galactic plane. Here we report our simulation results and discuss the evolution of the tilted gas disk.

  • In this paper, the dynamic system modeling and the state sensitivity analysis of the spin-coater system are proposed for the reduction of the vibration. In the respect of modeling, the spin-coater system is considered to be composed of servomotor, spindle, supporting base and so on. Each component of model is combined and derived to 3 dimensional equations. The combined model is verified by experimental values of actual system in the frequency domain. By direct differentiation of the constraint equations with respect to kinematic design variables, such as eccentricity of spindle, moment of inertia, rotational stiffness and damping of supported base, sensitivity equations are derived to the verified state equations. Sensitivity of design variables could be used for vibration reduction and natural frequency shift in the frequency domain. Finally, dominant design variables are selected from the sensitivity analysis.

  • This paper presents the implementation of comparator which is self-testing with respect to the faults caused by any single physical defect likely to occur in NMOS and CMOS integrated circuit. The goal is to use it for the fault-tolerant system. First, a new fault model for PLA(Programmable Logic Array) is presented. This model reflects several physical defects in VLSI circuits. It focuses on the designs based on PLA because VLSI chips are far too complex to allow detailed analysis of all the possible physical defects that can occur and of the effects on the operation of the circuit. Second, this paper shows that these design, which has been implemented with 2 level AND-ORor NOR-NOR circuit, are optimal in term of size. And it also presents a formal proof that a comparator implemented using NOR-NOR PLA, based on these design, is sol f-testing with respect to most single faults in the presented fault model. Finally, it discusses the application of the self-testing comparator as a building block for the implementation of the fault-tolerant system.

  • In real system application, the interacting multiple model (IMM) based algorithm operates with the following problems: it requires less computing resources as well as a good performance with respect to the various target maneuvering, it requires a robust performance with respect to the time-varying measurement noise, and further, it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy interacting multiple model (AFIMM) algorithm, which is based on the basis sub-models defined by considering the maneuvering property and the time-varying mode transition probabilities designed by using the mode probabilities as the inputs of the fuzzy decision maker whose widths are adjusted, is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a radar target tracking is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed AFIMM algorithm solves all problems in the real system application of the IMM based algorithm.

  • This study is to investigate the causality of participation motivation, self-efficacy, self-respect and ceaseless participation intention of college students who joined mind growth program. Based on the outcome of previous studies, hypothesis and research model of this article was designed, and subjects of authentic analysis were 88 college students in mind growth program. The conclusion of this survey thru fitness levels of path model and analysis of covariance with hypothesis verification is as follows. The higher participation motivation of college students who joined mind growth program is, the higher self-efficacy and self-respect are getting. The higher participation motivation and self-efficacy thru self-respect are, the higher ceaseless participation intention is getting.

  • To set up a kinetic model that can provide a theoretical basis for developing a new mathematical model of the Cr(VI) biosorption column using brown seaweed Ecklonia biomass, a differential reactor system was used in this study. Based on the fact that the removal process followed a redox reaction between Cr(VI) and the biomass, with no dispersion effect in the differential reactor, a new mathematical model was proposed to describe the removal of Cr(VI) from a liquid stream passing through the differential reactor. The reduction model of Cr(VI) by the differential reactor was zero order with respect to influent Cr(IlI) concentration, and first order with respect to both the biomass and influent Cr(VI) concentrations. The developed model described well the dynamics of Cr(VI) in the effluent. In conclusion, the developed model may be used for the design and performance prediction of the biosorption column process for Cr(VI) detoxification.

  • The dynamics of relative motion in a perturbed orbital environment are exploited based on Gauss' and Cowell's variational equations. The inertial coordinate frame and relative coordinate frame (Hill frame) are used, and a linear high fidelity model is developed to describe the relative motion. This model takes into account the primary gravitational and atmospheric drag perturbations. Then, this model is used in the design of a navigation, guidance, and control system of a chaser vehicle to approach towards and to depart from a target vehicle in proximity operations. Relative navigation uses an extended Kalman filter based on this relative model to estimate the relative position/velocity of the chaser vehicle with respect to the target vehicle. This filter uses the range and angle measurements of the target relative to the chaser from a simulated LIDAR system. The corresponding measurement models, process noise matrix, and other filter parameters are provided. Numerical simulations are performed to assess the precision of this model with respect to the full nonlinear model. The analyses include the navigation errors and trajectory dispersions.
