IT제조기업의 베트남 진출 전략 및 성과에 관한 연구 (IT Manufacturing Companies' Strategies and Performance for Overseas Expansion to Vietnam)

  • This study is aimed to find out which factors among firm-specific resources, industry-based competition, and institutional conditions affect strategies for Korean IT manufacturing companies when they expand their business overseas, especially to Vietnam in this study. Also, it attempts to reveal which strategies among cost reduction, mass production, and localization affect performance of overseas expansion. Based on Strategy Tripod Theory as an integrating point-of-view embracing resource-based view, industry-based view, and institution-based view, research model was developed and tested through the survey of 83 Korean IT manufacturing companies expanded their business to Vietnam. Research findings show that (1) communication competency, industry competitiveness, industry attractiveness, and regulation of partner country affect cost reduction strategy. (2) International experience, communication competency, international orientation, and competitiveness is significantly associated with mass production strategy. (3) And international experience, communication competency, and industry competitiveness affect localization. (4) Ultimately, mass production strategy and localization strategy significantly increase performance of expansion to Vietnam. The theoretical contribution of this study is to adopt an integrative approach based on strategy tripod theory. As practical implications, it suggests factors and strategies that IT manufacturing companies interested in expansion to Vietnam should consider. In sum, we believe this study can contribute to Korean IT manufacturing industry by suggesting key success factors and appropriate strategies for overseas expansion.

가치창조를 위한 기업자원관리: 전사적자원관리 구현을 기반으로 (Managing firm Resources to Create Value: Based on ERP Implementation)

  • 전사적자원관리(enterprise resource planning: ERP)의 효과적 구축을 위해서는 다양한 요소들의 상호작용이 필수적임에도 불구하고 이들 요소들간의 상호작용에 대한 연구는 그간 개별적으로 이루어져 왔다. 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 이러한 요소들이 어떻게 상호작용하고 이러한 상호작용이 효과적인 전사적자원관리의 구축에 영향을 미치는가를 전체적인 관점(holistic perspective)에서 파악하기 위한 연구모형을 제안하고자 한다. 특히, 본 연구는 가치 창출을 위한 자원준거이론(resource based theory), 전략형성 프레임웍(strategy formulation framework), 동적자원관리(dynamic resource management) 모형을 기반을 어떻게 자원의 번들링(bundling) 프로세스와 역량의 레버리지(leverage) 프로세스가 전사적자원관리의 효과적 구축에 영향을 미치는가에 초점을 두고자 한다. 제안된 연구모형은 호주의 항공산업에 속한 기업을 대상으로 사례연구를 수행하여 검증하였다. 사례연구 결과 효과적 역량 구축을 위한 자원의 번들링 프로세스와 효과적 전사적자원관리의 구축을 위한 역량의 레버리지 프로세스의 중요성을 파악할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 자원간 그리고 역량간 상호작용의 중요성을 명시함으로써 효과적 전사적 자원관리를 위한 가이드라인을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

기업의 기술혁신 활동 결정요인: 자원기반 관점에서 본 탐색적 연구

  • This paper investigates the determinants of the firm's decision to carry out innovative activities in terms of the resource-based view(RBV) in strategic management. Two types of resources are distinguished: tangible(financial autonomy, firm size, capital intensity) and intangible(human resource, entrepreneurship, and commercial resource). R&D intensity and patent statistics are used as proxies for innovative activity. Specific hypotheses about their effect on the probability of a firm carrying out innovative activities are derived and tested on a sample of 337 listed firms in Korean manufacturing industry for the year 1999, using the logistic regression model. Empirical findings suggest that firm size and human resource are the main determinants of firm's internal innovative activities. The results show that the hypotheses concerning financial autonomy, debt ratio, capital intensity, entrepreneurship, and commercial resource are rejected.

프로젝트 조직자원이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Project-Based Organizational Resources on the Business Performance)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of project-based organizational resources on the business performance in the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capability one and analyze their relationship through an integrated model. The RBV argues that firms get competitive advantages when they have VRIN characterized resources but dynamic capability view argues that RBV has its limitation under volatility so it enables them to obtain competitive advantages in ever changing environments. This study analyzes data collected from 270 survey questionnaires on the project management related staff at the project-based organization among major companies in Korea. The result demonstrates that two project organizational resources on strategic and executional management with VRIN characteristics are found to bring positive effects on the organizational dynamic capabilities and also the dynamic capabilities such as integration & reconfiguration, organizational learning are verified to bring meaningful positive effects on the business performance. On the other hand, unlike previous studies, ambidexterity has quite a weak effect on the business performance. Therefore, we expect that the resources of the project-based organization with VRIN lead to strengthen the firm's business performance through organizational dynamic capabilities and produce high performance through the integrated model of RBV and dynamic capability one. The study has academic meanings that widely confirm the effects and characteristics of main elements of VRIN project organizational resources on the business performance of competitive advantage through the dynamic capabilities of the organization by the regression on the precedent studies regarding the project management resources and their relationship with the VRIO characteristics. The practical implication is that it is preferentially necessary for the organization to obtain VRIN resources and organizational dynamic capabilities, especially organizational learning to have sustainable competitive advantages.

A Study on the Change of Education System with the Development of Digital Content Industry

  • Due to the development of science and technology and the emergence of new industries, the environmental change of the digital contents industry is rapidly progressing. The scope of technological development in the digital contents industry is affecting not only the entertainment industry but also various industries. Recently, with the development of digital convergence using realistic content, games, video, and VR have provided new opportunities for the growth of the content industry. The researcher determined that a new education system would need to be changed as the digital contents industry developed. For this purpose, an AHP questionnaire was conducted for experts with a high basic understanding of the education platform based on previous studies. We proposed a platform model for human resource development as an education system that meets the demand of digital contents industry. The education system for nurturing talents needed by future society should include elements that can interest the learning of users. The platform should not be approached from a system point of view, but should be developed from the content and user's point of view, considering the platform's original purpose.

  • The study has tried to address particular situations relating to HRM. In my paper I give suggestions based on the present state of Korean Corporations. They are from 2 view points. These view points include the level of vertical fitness as a basic task of strategic human resource management and the level of empowerment to the line managers. This study could be defined by examining the following question: What are the contingent factors and organizational policies that enable us to foresee levels of strategic integration and empowerment? We seem to require the wisdom of human resource management for establishing the foundation of presenting a standard.

  • 인터넷은 사용이 매우 간편한 도구인 월드와이드웹의 등장으로 인하여 가장 독보적이면서도 강력한 지원을 제공하는 세계에서 가장 간편한 네트워크 자원이 되었다. 더 나아가 정적인 2차원을 넘어서 3차원 View 웹 서비스와 같은 동적인 서비스를 제공하는 많은 방법들이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 MRI, CT, PET 같은 2차원 의료 영상을 쌓아 만든 3차원 데이터를 웹에서 인터액티브하게 가시화 하는 볼륨 렌더링 View 프로그램을 제시할 것이다. 이를 위해 우리는 COM기술을 바탕으로 하는 ActiveX 컴포넌트인 OCX 컨트롤로 만들어 웹 페이지에서 실현 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 인터넷만 있으면 쉽게 원격에서도 3차원 가시화를 통한 영상 분석을 할 수 있는 기능을 제공하여 질병의 진단에 크게 기여 할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 창업과 벤처기업의 혁신활동이 산업발전과 경제성장의 원동력으로 작용하고 있는 가운데 이들을 육성하고 발전시키는 테크노파크와 인큐베이터의 중요성은 날로 증대되고 있다. 본 연구는 문헌리뷰를 통해 인큐베이터의 성과 측정을 위한 지표를 다양한 이론적 시점에서 제시하고자 한다. 인큐베이터의 성과결정요인으로 입주기업에 제공하는 자원 종류와 형태를 분석하는 자원중심론 분석, 인큐베이터가 가지는 전략의 패턴, 그리고 입주기업을 지원하는 사회적 네트워크 분석을 제시한다. 그리고 향후 진행되어야 할 연구방향으로서 인큐베이터의 거버넌스의 패턴과 그 영향, 외부 콘텍스트의 차이가 가져오는 효과 그리고 정부의 인큐베이터 정책성과에 관한 연구의 중요성을 강조하고 있다.

상황인지 기반 IoT-MEC 서비스를 위한 계층적 서비스 바인딩 및 자원관리 구조 설계 (Hierarchical Service Binding and Resource Allocation Design for Context-based IoT Service in MEC Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 mobile edge computing (MEC) 네트워크에서 컨텍스트 기반 IoT 서비스를 위한 새로운 서비스 바인딩 및 리소스 관리 모델을 제시한다. 제안하는 제어는 MEC 서비스 바인딩 제어 계층 (MCL)과 사용자 컨텍스트 제어 계층 (UCL)의 두 가지 계층으로 구성되며, MCL은 시스템 관점에서 서비스 바인딩 구성, 리소스 할당 및 서비스 정책 구성을 관리하고, UCL은 사용자 관점에서 메타 객체를 사용하여 실시간 서비스 적응을 관리한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 제어 모델은, 실험을 통해 기존 컴퓨팅 모델과 비교할 때 향상된 정보 처리량과 콘텐츠 전송 시간을 제공함을 확인했다. 제안하는 제어 모델은 차세데 MEC 환경에서 컨텍스트 기반의 다양한 사물인터넷 서비스의 핵심 구성 요소로 적용될 수 있다.

BSC프레임워크 기반 ERP시스템의 재무 성과 영향요인: 전략적 연계성의 상호작용효과와 고객 및 비즈니스 프로세스 관점의 매개 효과 (Factors Affecting Financial Performance of ERP System Based on BSC Framework: The Moderate Effect of Strategic Alignment and the Mediating Effect of Customer and Business Process Perspectives)

  • Purpose Recently, many organizations are actively adopting enterprise architecture (EA) as a methodology to manage IT assets and build IT-based business system. This study intended to empirically examine how the role of EA operating unit and utilization capability of organizational members impact on system performance at the post-adoption stage. A balanced score card (BSC) is being used as a framework for a company's key performance indicator (KPI). Design/methodology/approach This study tried to investigate the causal relationship between the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard as an influencing factor of the introduction of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) on the financial value. In particular, the mediating effect between the customer's point of view and the business process point of view was investigated between the learning growth point of view and the financial point of view, and the interaction effect (regulating effect) of strategic linkage in the system introduction process was investigated. Findings The results of the study were first, that the organizational learning and growth perspective had a positive effect on the customer perspective, business process, and financial perspective. In addition, the customer perspective and the process perspective also had a positive influence on the financial perspective. Second, between the learning growth and financial perspectives, the customer perspective and the process perspective showed a partial mediating effect. Third, as for strategic linkage, the interaction effect between the customer perspective, the learning growth perspective, and the process perspective and the financial perspective was not significant. The results of this study are expected to provide a framework for performance evaluation to organizations that have introduced ERP systems.
