  • A cache is used for optimization of query forwarding in the Grid database. To decrease network transmission cost, frequently used data is cached from meta database. Existing cache management method has a unbalanced resource problem, because it doesn't manage replicated data in each node. Also, it increases network cost by cache misses. In the case of data modification, if cache is not updated, queries can be transferred to wrong nodes and it can be occurred others nodes which have same cache. Therefore, it is necessary to solve the problems of existing method that are using unbalanced resource of replica and increasing network cost by cache misses. In this paper, cache management method for query forwarding optimization is proposed. The proposed method manages caches through cache manager. To optimize query forwarding, the cache manager makes caching data from lower loaded replicated node. The query processing cost and the network cost will decrease for the reducing of wrong query forwarding. The performance evaluation shows that proposed method performs better than the existing method.

  • Generally, network QoS is determined by timeliness, bandwidth, and reliability, As IT technologies are growing day by day, the bandwidth and reliability factors are expected to be able to satisfy user's requirements. The timeliness factor, however, has not fully met user's requirements yet. In this paper, we propose a packet forwarding scheme named POSIA (Packet forwarding Scheme based on Interworking Architecture) that can provide quite a good QoS (quality of service) by minimizing processing time which is the major part of the timeliness factor. Based on path and resource reservation mechanism, the proposed POSIA makes routers on the packet forwarding path synchronize with each other and then forward packets, The POSIA has been verified to outperform the existing MPLS packet forwarding scheme through computer simulations using OPNET.

  • Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) can easily compromised from attackers because it has the limited resource and deployed in exposed environments. When the sensitive packets are occurred such as enemy's movement or fire alarm, attackers can selectively drop them using a compromised node. It brings the isolation between the basestation and the sensor fields. To detect selective forwarding attack, Xiao, Yu and Gao proposed checkpoint-based multi-hop acknowledgement scheme (CHEMAS). The check-point nodes are used to detect the area which generating selective forwarding attacks. However, CHEMAS has static probability of selecting check-point nodes. It cannot achieve the flexibility to coordinate between the detection ability and the energy consumption. In this paper, we propose the control method for the number fo check-point nodes. Through the control method, we can achieve the flexibility which can provide the sufficient detection ability while conserving the energy consumption.

  • As long term evolution (LTE) is the most widely deployed broadband communication technology so far, efforts are being made to develop LTE-based mission critical public safety (PS) communication systems. In this paper, we propose a device-to-device (D2D) discovery-based radio resource acquisition scheme to support the LTE D2D communication to PS systems and the realization of resource forwarding for user equipments in emergency area.

  • A lot many WWW sites are come into the world more and more as Web is considered as the unified Internet information tool. The location of each site or resource is usually specified by a physical URL, which is often too long to remember and tends to raise difficulty to show the aim of the site intuitively by seeing it. Since any person or organization can get his/her own domain name easily, it is more desirable to use a logical URL with the domain name which can be chosen more compact to remember and meaningful to represent the ultimate intention of the site. This paper presents an implementation of a URL forwarding server which forwards a URL to another, so that a WWW site can use a logical URL instead of a physical one. The server consists of a domain mapper which uses the redirection transaction of the HTTP protocol, and a name server based on the HIND. The paper shows how the interaction between the domain mapper and the name sever can make forwarding possible and describes its implementation in detail. Experimental results shows that the overhead incurred by URL forwarding is negligible compared to the typical delay of current Internet traffic condition.

  • The energy efficiency is a key design issue to improve the lifetime of the underwater sensor networks (UWSN) consisting of sensor nodes equipped with a small battery of limited energy resource. In this paper, we apply a hexagon tessellation with an ideal cell size to deploy the underwater sensor nodes for two-dimensional UWSN. Upon this setting, we propose an enhanced hybrid transmission method that forwards data packets in a mixed transmission way based on location dependent direct transmitting or uniform multi-hop forwarding. In order to select direct transmitting or uniform multi-hop forwarding, the proposed method applies the threshold annulus that is defined as the distance between the cluster head node and the base station (BS). Our simulation results show that the proposed method enhances the energy efficiency compared with the existing multi-hop forwarding methods and hybrid transmission methods

  • Presented in this paper is a control model for developing virtual factory simulator, which is being operated under the distributed environment. The control model consists of production activity plan and information flows. To incorporate elements of the characteristics of the distributed control system, we suggested a collaboration model. This model is working under the client/server architecture, and also designed for cooperative-distributed shop control(CDSC) system in order to exploit several advantages of client/server architecture. Collaboration among each agent(or client) is done through negotiation and task sharing. Based on a contract net model, the CDSC system has three kinds of agents-order agent, resource agent, and communication forwarding agent. Each agent performs shop scheduling and control through negotiation on contract net. No node in CDSC system can have authority over other node. A bidding scheme is employed far negotiation between order agent and resource agents. The CDSC system can support re-negotiation among resource agents and an algorithm for re-negotiation is also developed. Experimental results are shown to advocate the effectiveness of the CDSC system for CIM environments.

  • Network slicing is a promising paradigm and significant evolution for adjusting the heterogeneous services based on different requirements by placing dynamic virtual network functions (VNF) forwarding graph (VNFFG) and orchestrating service function chaining (SFC) based on criticalities of Quality of Service (QoS) classes. In system architecture, software-defined networks (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and edge computing are used to provide resourceful data view, configurable virtual resources, and control interfaces for developing the modified deep reinforcement learning agent (MDRL-A). In this paper, task requests, tolerable delays, and required resources are differentiated for input state observations to identify the non-critical/critical classes, since each user equipment can execute different QoS application services. We design intelligent slicing for handing the cross-domain resource with MDRL-A in solving network problems and eliminating resource usage. The agent interacts with controllers and orchestrators to manage the flow rule installation and physical resource allocation in NFV infrastructure (NFVI) with the proposed formulation of completion time and criticality criteria. Simulation is conducted in SDN/NFV environment and capturing the QoS performances between conventional and MDRL-A approaches.

  • As a crucial development direction for the sixth generation of mobile communication networks (6G), Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks exhibit characteristics such as low latency, seamless coverage, and high bandwidth. However, the frequent changes in the topology of LEO satellite networks complicate communication between satellites, and satellite power resources are limited. To fully utilize resources on satellites, it is essential to determine the association between satellites before power allocation. To effectively address the satellite association problem in LEO satellite networks, this paper proposes a satellite association-based resource allocation algorithm. The algorithm comprehensively considers the throughput of the satellite network and the fairness associated with satellite correlation. It formulates an objective function with logarithmic utility by taking the logarithm and summing the satellite channel capacities. This aims to maximize the sum of logarithmic utility while promoting the selection of fewer associated satellites for forwarding satellites, thereby enhancing the fairness of satellite association. The problems of satellite association and power allocation are solved under constraints on resources and transmission rates, maximizing the logarithmic utility function. The paper employs an improved Kuhn-Munkres (KM) algorithm to solve the satellite association problem and determine the correlation between satellites. Based on the satellite association results, the paper uses the Lagrangian dual method to solve the power allocation problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm enhances the fairness of satellite association, optimizes resource utilization, and effectively improves the throughput of LEO satellite networks.
