저항전분이 흰쥐의 에너지 영양소 이용효율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Resistant Starch on Availability of Energy Nutrients in Rats)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the nutritional effects of resistant starch, cellulose and pectin on growth rate, metabolic energy and apparent digestibility in rats. Forty eight male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to six dietary treatments, Rats were fed, ad libitum one of six experimental diets: 5% of resistant starch (RS), 5% of cellulose (CE), 5% of pection(PT), 2.5% resistant starch and 2.5% cellulose(RS+CE), 2.5% resistant starch and 2.5% pectin(RS+PT), and 2.5% cellulose and 2.5% pectin (CE+PT) during 4 weeks. The results obtained were as follows: body weight gain were higher in groups RS and CE, compared with that in the group PT, where other groups such as RS+CE, RS+PT and CE+PT showed no significant differences to the RS group. Food intake and food efficiency into showed the same patterns. Metabolic energy were similar in the RS and CE, and was the lowest the metabolic energy in the group CE+PT was significantly low. Apparent digestibility of protein was significantly higher in the group RS, compared with the groups CE and PT. Apparent digestibility of mixed dietary fiber groups such as the RS+CE, RS+PT and CE+PT group were also higher compared with the group PT. Apparent digestibility of lipid were significantly higher in the groups RS, CE and PT. Apparent digestibility of lipid in the mixed pectin groups such as the RS+PT and CE+PT growth rate, metabolic energy and apparent digestibility of lipid in the mixed pectin groups such as the RS+PT and CE+PT recorded the lowest, while that of the group RS+CE was significantly high. From above results, following was concluded: The growth rate, metabolic energy and apparent digestibility of protein and lipid of group RS were significantly higher in comparision with the group PT, while availability of energy nutrients of group CE was similar to that of the group RS. Also resistant starch fed with pectin(RS+PT) seemed to have increased the growth rate and the apparent digestibility of protein compared with those of the group PT fed with pectin(PT) alone, however RS+PT scemed to have the apparent digestibility of lipid.

Serratia marcescens의 항균제 내성 및 R plasmid (Antimicrobial Drug Resistance and R Plasmids of Serratia marcescens)

  • Forty clinical isolates of Serratia marcescens were tested for their susceptibility to 19 antimicrobial drugs and studied on the molecular characteristics of R plasmids. Cefotaxime (Ct) was the most effective drug and only 2 (5%) strains were resistant to this drug. Thirteen to 18% of strains were resistant to cefoperazone (Cz), amikacin (Ak). and trimethoprim (Tp), and 28 to 40% were resistant to piperacillin (Pi), nalidixic acid (Na), gentamicin (Gm), and cefoxitin (Cx). A majority of strains were resistant to carbenicillin (Cb), tobramycin (Tp), kanamycin (Km), and cefamandole (Cd), and all to cephalothin. One half of the isolates were resistant to 10 or more drugs. $MIC_{90}$ of Pi to Gm-resistant strains (Gm') were 8 times higher than that to Gm-susceptible strains (Gm'), but $MIC_{90}$ of Ak, Cx, Ct, and Cz were almost the same between both Gm' and Gm' strains. Nine (23.7%) strains among 38 of multiply drug-resistant S. marcescens transferred conjugally their partial patterns of resistance to E. coli or Klebsiella strains, and two S. marcescens strains producing bacteriocin transferred their resistance to Klebsiella only, but not to E. coli. The plasmid profiles of S. marcescens were studied by the methods of SDS lysis and agarose gel electrophoresis. Twenty-four (60%) strains carried one to four plasmids of 1.4. to 144 Mdal, and conjugative R plasmids of 49 to 127 Mdal were noted in transconjugants. MIC levels of drugs in transconjugants were variable by the R plasmids and recipient strains.

대구지방에서의 장열성 Salmonella의 분포와 항균제내성 (Distribution and Drug Resistance of Salmonella Causing Enteric Fever in Taegu Area of Korea)

  • Salmonella strains isolated from blood in the Dong-san hospital, Taegu during the period from 1971 to 1986 were studied for species distribution, drug resistance, and R plasmids. The number of strains was 2,527 and all of them were classified into S. typhi and S. paratyphi A. Approximately 300 strains were isolated in the period from 1974 to 1976 and 1978, 268 in 1982, and 204 in 1983, but the numbers isolated in the 1980's have a tendency to decrease as compared with those of the 1970's. S. typhi occupied 85% or more of strains isolated until 1976, but the isolation frequency decreased yearly with some variation, and S. paratyphi A increased gradually from 1974. Only 4 strains of S. paratyphi A were resistant to some drugs, and the resistance was not transferred to E. coli by conjugation. S. typhi resistant to drugs were 15 in 1971 through 1973, 24 in 1974, and 13 in 1975, but afterwards only few resistant strains were isolated. These strains were resistant to two or more drugs; chloramphenicol(Cm), tetracycline(Tc), streptomycin(Sm), sulfisomidine(Su), ampicillin(Ap), and kanamycin(Km) and no strain resistant to other drugs tested was found. Strains resistant to 3 or less drugs didn't transfer the resistance to E. coli by conjugation. There were 15 strains resistant to four or more drugs, and were isolated in years from 1972 to 1976. These strains transferred the resistance to E. coli, and the resistance was considered to be mediated by R plasmids. Transfer frequency was higher at $25^{\circ}C$ than at $37^{\circ}C$ and patterns of transferred resistance were Cm, Tc, Sm, Su; Ap, Km; Cm. R plasmids having markers of Cm, Tc, Sm and Su were classified into Inc H1.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) intergenerational transmission from mother's internal working model of relationships formed in her childhood and infant's attachment patterns and (2) the associations among maternal working models, maternal sensitivity, and infant attachment patterns. The subjects were twenty 12- to 20-month-old infants and their mothers. The Adult Attachment Interview (1996) was used to assess mother's internal work model of relationships. Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Each dyad was videotaped in the modified Ainsworth Strange Situation(1978) and filmed for 3 minutes in the Questionaire Situation of Smith and Pederson (1988). Mothers were classified as autonomous(F), dismissing(Ds), preoccupied(E), or unresolved/disorganized(Ud). Infants were classified as secure(B), insecure-avoidant(A), or insecure-resistant(C). Exact A/B/C/D and Ds/F/E/Ud agreement was observed in 55% of the dyads. Maternal sensitivity was related to infant attachment patterns but not to maternal working models.

지형구조와 나무밀도가 산불패턴에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Geological Structure and Tree Density on the Forest Fire Patterns)

  • 산불 확산 패턴 분석은 산림 생태계 안정화를 이해하는데 중요한 요소이다. 하지만 규모의 문제로 인해 실제적인 실험이 불가능하여 많은 학자들이 시뮬레이션 모델을 이용하여 산불 확산의 행동기작을 이해하고 산림 피해를 예측하였다. 그러나 많은 모델들이 연료의 종류, 바람, 습도 같은 여러 환경 요소들의 복잡한 관계를 표현하는데 한계를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지형의 구조와 두 종의 나무들로 구성된 산림에서 미치는 영향을 분석하는 간단한 모델을 제안하였다. 두 종의 나무는 가연성이 높은 나무와 가연성이 낮은 나무가 있으며, 서로 다른 산불 전이 확률을 가지고 있다. 전체 나무는 시뮬레이션 공간에 0.5에서 1.0까지의 비율로 무작위로 배치된다. 가연성이 높은 나무는 가연성이 낮은 나무 보다 높은 산불 전이 확률을 가진다. 전소한 나무의 수를 기준으로 지형의 구조와 전체 나무의 밀도가 산불 확산에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지 민감도를 분석하였다. 우리는, 본 논문에서 제시한 모델이 앞으로 산불 확산 패턴을 연구하는데 유용할 것으로 기대한다.

결핵균의 항결핵제 내성 전환 패턴 (The Patterns of Conversion to Anti-Tuberculosis Drug Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis)

  • 다제내성결핵과 광범위내성결핵은 결핵 치료의 문제가 되고 있으며 발생빈도 역시 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 2010년 1월부터 2019년 12월까지 녹십자의료재단 의뢰된 환자를 대상으로 Löwenstein-Jensen 고체배지와 pyrazinamide for pyrazinamidase를 이용하여 약물감수성시험(DST)을 시행하여 내성으로 전환되는 항결핵제 패턴과 평균 추적 기간을 분석하였다. 항결핵제 중 1개 이상의 항결핵제 내성을 보인 증례들에서 초기 의뢰 시 INH 항결핵제에 내성인 경우가 55명(33.1%)으로 가장 높은 비율로 나타났으며, 내성으로 전환된 항결핵제는 EMB 17명(26.6%), RFP 14명(21.9%), QUI 14명(21.9%), PZA 12명(10.9%) 순으로 조사되었다. 10개의 항결핵제에 모두 감수성인 증례들에서는 INH 항결핵제에 대한 내성 전환은 43명(7.2%)으로 가장 빈도가 높았으며, 평균 추적 기간은435.6일로 조사되었으며, 내성으로 전환되는 항결핵제의 내성전환율은 INH 43명(7.2%), RFP 23명(3.9%), SM 11명(1.9%), QUI 4명(0.7%), AMK 3명(0.5%), EMB 3명(0.5%)이었다. 이에 본 연구는 항결핵제에 대한 감수성에서 내성으로의 전환은 특히 다제내성결핵과 광범위 내성결핵의 전환되는 환자에게 매우 중요한 자료가 될 것으로 보이며, 결핵 치료에서 환자 치료에 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • The agar plate titrations of antibiotic sensitivities of Salmonella and Shigella isolated from human during 1967 to 1972 were studies. 1. The most effective antibiotics against Salmonella and Shigella were chloramphenicol, tetracycline, kanamycin, minomycin, and gentamycin. 2. All strain of Salmonella typhi were resistant to cloxacilline. 3. The most effective antibiotics against Shigella were kanamycin, gentamycin and minomycin.

항결핵제 감수성 결핵에서의 내성 변화 추이 (The Patterns of Acquiring Anti-Mycobacterial Drug Resistance by Susceptible Strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis)

  • 본 연구는 결핵환자의 초기 치료에서 모든 항결핵제에 감수성을 보이는 경우, 치료 과정 중 항결핵제에 대한 내성 전환을 조사하였다. 2010년 1월부터 2019년 12월까지 111개 의료기관에서 녹십자의료재단에 항결핵제감수성 검사를 의뢰한 760건의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 항결핵제에 모두 감수성인 594명중 추적 기간에 감수성에서 내성으로 전환되는 56명을 분석한 결과 INH, RIF, SM, QUI 순으로 단독 내성 전환율이 가장 높게 나타났으며, INH, RIF에 동시에 복합 내성을 보인 경우는 56명중 17명(30.4%)으로 높은 내성 전환율을 보이고 있다. 전환 시기는 INH 항결핵제는 최소 98일부터 1,862일, 평균 435.6일이며, RIF 항결핵제는 최소 108일부터 1,673일, 평균 457.7일로 분석되었다. 이에 본 연구는 결핵 초기 치료 후 모든 항결핵제에 감수성을 보였다면 3개월이 지난 시점에서 반드시 항결핵제 감수성 검사를 통해 내성 전환 및 다제내성결핵을 확인해야만 한다고 사료되며, 국민보건향상과 국민건겅증진을 위한 국가결핵관리 사업에 도움이 되었으면 한다.

Soil Microbial Community Assessment for the Rhizosphere Soil of Herbicide Resistant Genetically Modified Chinese Cabbage

  • BACKGROUND: Cultivation of genetically modified(GM) crops rapidly has increased in the global agricultural area. Among those, herbicide resistant GM crops are reported to have occupied 89.3 million hectares in 2010. However, cultivation of GM crops in the field evoked the concern of the possibility of gene transfer from transgenic plant into soil microorganisms. In our present study, we have assessed the effects of herbicide-resistant GM Chinese cabbage on the surrounding soil microbial community. METHODS AND RESULTS: The effects of a herbicide-resistant genetically modified (GM) Chinese cabbage on the soil microbial community in its field of growth were assessed using a conventional culture technique and also culture-independent molecular methods. Three replicate field plots were planted with a single GM and four non-GM Chinese cabbages (these included a non-GM counterpart). The soils around these plants were compared using colony counting, denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis and a species diversity index assessment during the growing periods. The bacterial, fungal and actinomycetes population densities of the GM Chinese cabbage soils were found to be within the range of those of the non-GM Chinese cabbage soils. The DGGE banding patterns of the GM and non-GM soils were also similar, suggesting that the bacterial community structures were stable within a given month and were unaffected by the presence of a GM plant. The similarities of the bacterial species diversity indices were consistent with this finding. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that soil microbial communities are unaffected by the cultivation of herbicide-resistant GM Chinese cabbage within the experimental time frame.
