A Study on Enhancing the Demand for Non-Timber Forest Products : Focused on Consumer Research of Foods Processed from Jujube

  • While jujubes are mainly sold in dried forms as wholesome foods, sacrificial food and so on, processed foods from jujube are neither highly recognized nor in high demand. Hence, this study has proposed ways to enhance the demand for jujube processed foods and will help prepare the ground for efficient marketing strategies, based on the survey result on the pattern in which customers in Korea purchase jujube-processed foods. The conclusion for this study has been derived by researching the relevant literature and analyzing the relevant company data and customer survey results. The study implies the following points regarding enhancing the demand for jujube-processed foods. First, long-term solutions are necessary. These may include establishing a technological system that can produce various foods processed from jujubes, and improving the customer accessibility in accordance with the changes in the retail environment. To implement these solutions, it is necessary to familiarize the customers with jujube-processed foods by securing a good sales network and through active promotion and advertising. Second, systematic marketing strategies are needed, which may be applied in developing the products as well as distribution and promotion methods and prices that correspond with the changes in the customer environment and the different tastes for various age, gender and residential area groups.

공동주택수요의 특성과 신도시 이주성향에 관한 연구 (The Nature of Housing (Apartment) Demand and Residential Mobility)

  • The principal measure of housing demand is income and the preferences expressed by households through their respective indifference curves. In this context, housing essentially becomes a derived demand, i.e., the household consumes land and a location (or distance-in time and money costs), according to its relative preferences for space, accessibility, and all other nonhousing goods. This paper attempts to deal with both aspects of housing (apartment) demand and household mobility in the Seoul Metropolitan Areas. Housing services will be measured using hedonic regression technique. From observations on the market prices of dwelling units and on the underlying characteristics of housing, one can estimte the relationships between the two empirically. In predicting the probability of the future moves into new towns in the Seoul Metropolitan areas, the best predictors of the future moves into new best predictors are found to be the degree of satisfaction not only with the current residence as a whole, but with some of the major amenities, accessibility and child education. The reasons for moving into new towns are diverse depending on the households' current situation; the most frequently cited is "improvement of housing conditions," followed by "improvement of living environment," "asset improvement" and "home ownership". It appears that people move houses because of a dissatisfaction with their current housing status, relative their income or needs, or a desire to improve their housing and neighborhood amenities, or both. On the other hand, it is clear that the development of new towns in the Seoul Metropolitan Areas should be based on the analysis of housing demand and the pattern of household mobility in Seoul housing market.sehold mobility in Seoul housing market.

  • Cause of struggling to escape from dependency of fossil fuels, the fuel cell and the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) draw attention in the all of the world. Especially, the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) systems have been anticipated for next generation's energy supplying system, and we can predict the PHEV will enlarge the market share in the next few years to reduce not only the air pollution in the metropolis but the fuel-expenses of commuters. This paper presents simulation results about the strategy of smart charging system for PHEV in the residential house which has 1 kW PEMFC cogeneration system. The smart charging system has a function of recommending the best time to charge the battery of PHEV by the lowest energy cost. The simulated energy cost for charging the battery based on the electricity demand data pattern in the house. The house which floor area is $132\;m^2$ (40 pyeong.). In these conditions, the annual gasoline, electricity, and total energy cost to fuel the PHEV versus Conventional Vehicle (CV) have been simulated in terms of cars' average life span in Korea.

  • 최근 가변성능에 관하여 공간, 재료, 구조, 공법 등 건설 산업 전반에 걸쳐 많은 연구가 진행 중이다. 시대적인 주거환경 변화, 미래지향적인 건설 트랜드 변모 그리고 수요중심적인 인식을 만족하기 위해서 주택의 모습과 공간, 형식이 진화되어가고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 가변성을 지니고 있는 건축의 성능요소들을 비교 분석하여 대안을 제시하고자 하며, 적용 가능한 다양한 분류예시를 통하여 실제적인 차세대 장수명화를 실현시키기 위한 방향과 지침을 제시하고자한다.

학교 실내공기질 및 건강 영향 (School Indoor Air Quality and Health Effects)

  • Indoor air quality at classrooms is of special concern since students are susceptible and indoor air problems can be so subtle that it does not always produce easily recognizable health effects. The main objectives of the study were to investigate the time-activity pattern of school students, to determine the sources of poor indoor air quality in schools, and to demonstrate how indoor air quality in schools causes adverse health effects such as headache, upper airway irritation, fatigue, and lethargy. Recent articles ranging from 1987-2009 related to school indoor air quality were systematically reviewed. Building-associated health effects can increase student absences from school and degrade the performance of children while in school. The reduced ventilation rate was associated with a decreased ability to concentrate along with increased adverse health symptoms. There was an association between residential proximity to busy roads and a variety of adverse respiratory health outcomes in children. Consequently, the current findings suggest the need for control strategy for school indoor air pollutants with multidisciplinary approach methods because Korea has no other natural resources except manpower especially.

경계구조로 본 향단에 관한 연구 (The study on the characteristics of Hyang-Dan focused on the boundary structure)

  • This study was intended to define the spatial concept of the boundary structure of the architectural space as well as evaluate the Hyangdan which well represents the features of Korean traditional building in such a way of reviewing the building structure of Korean traditional residential space. The boundary is categorized into visible boundary and invisible boundary which was also functionally classified into the features of isolating, passing, mediating and overlapping. The major elements comprising the boundary structure was analyzed by the characteristic of the pattern so as to define them as the concept of surrounding, duality, hierarchism, continuity and overlapping. Based on such concepts, a boundary structural characteristics of Hyangdan were reevaluated and outlined as follows. The surrounding feature was seen through the outer side of the structure surrounded, two courtyards and eaves, and a duality showing both the closure of main house and openness of detached house was seen through the characteristics of surrounding structure. And the continuous activities toward the inner room and the empty space to link them in a systematic way and repeatedly aligned rooms reveal the overlapping as continuous and transitional space. And finally, an elevated stylobate demonstrates the hierarchical features of the structure.

공간가중회귀 모형을 이용한 서울시 에너지 소비에 따른 이산화탄소 배출 분석 (Spatial Pattern Analysis of CO2 Emission in Seoul Metropolitan City Based on a Geographically Weighted Regression)

  • Effort to reduce energy consumptions or CO2 emissions is global trend. To follow this trend, spatial studies related to characteristics affecting energy consumptions or CO2 emissions have been conducted, but only with the focus on spatial dependence, not on spatial heterogeneity. The aim of this study is to investigate spatial heterogeneity patterns of CO2 emission based on socio-economic factors, land-use characteristics and traffic infrastructure of Seoul city. Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) analysis was performed with 423 administrative district data in Seoul. The results suggest that population and employment densities, road density and railway length in most districts are found to have positive impact on the CO2 emissions. Residential and green area densities also have the highest positive impact on CO2 emissions in most districts of Gangnam-gu. The resulting model can be used to identify the spatial patterns of CO2 emissions at district level in Seoul. Eventually it can contribute to local energy policy and planning of metropolitan area.

Comparison between the Egyptian and international codes based on seismic response of mid- to high-rise moment resisting framed buildings

  • This research aims to assess the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) residential buildings when moment-resisting frames (MRFs) are used as the lateral resisting system. This investigation was conducted using MIDAS Gen v.19.0. Buildings with various plan footprints (Square, Rectangular, Circular, Triangular, and Plus-Shaped), and different heights (15 m, 30 m, 45 m, and 60 m) are investigated. The defined load cases, the equivalent static lateral load pattern, and the response spectrum function were defined as stated by the American Standard (ASCE 7-16), the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBC97), the Egyptian Code for Loads (ECP-201), and the European Standard (EC8). Extensive comparisons of the results obtained by the different codes (including the story displacement, the story drift, and the base shear) were undertaken; to assess the response of moment-resisting multi-story framed buildings under lateral loads. The results revealed that, for all study cases under consideration, both ECP-201 and EC8 gave smaller base shear, displacement, and drift by one third to one fourth, around one fourth, around one fifth, respectively for both the ELF and RSA methods if compared to ASCE 7-16 and UBC97.

서울대도시권역의 설정과 지역구조에 관한 연구 (A study on the establishment and regional strunture of Seoul metropolitan region)

  • 본 논문은 지속적인 서울시의 성장이 그 주변지역의 성장을 수반하면서 서울대도시 권화되어가는 과정을 밝히고 서울대도시권역을 설정한 후, 서울대도시권역 내에서 기능적 특성에 따라 지역을 분류하려는 것이 그 목적이었다. 1990년 시점에서의 서울대도시권역의 경계가 어느 정도 확대되었는가를 측정하기 위하여 도시화 정도를 측정하는 지표와 서울과 의 기능적 연계성을 측정하는 지표를 토대로 하여 그 권역을 설정하였다. 그 결과 서울대도 시권역은 수도권의 거의 전 지역을 포함하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 서울대도시권역에 포함된 지역들은 서울이 갖고 있는 기능을 일부 분담하면서 기능적인 면에서 특화되거나 전 문화되어 기능적 특성에 따라서 신종주거기능 탁월지역, 제조업기능 탁월지역, 서비스기능 탁월지역, 잠재적 개발가능지역의 4개 그룹으로 지역을 분류할 수 있었다.

강도 범죄의 실태 및 대구 지역 침입 강도 범죄 분석 (Actual Conditions of Burglaries and Analysis on Residential Invasion Burglaries in Daegu Area)

  • 2001년부터 2005년까지 5년 동안 우리나라에서 발생한 강도사건은 모두 29,892 건으로 연 평균 약 5,978 건이 발생하였는데, 그 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 수법은 침입강도가 8,605 건(28.8%)으로 가장 많았고, 침입구는 출입문이 4,031 건(64.3%)으로 가장 많았으며, 침입 방법은 문단속이 없는 출입문이나 창문을 통하여 침입한 것이 2,462 건(28.6%)으로 가장 많았고, 발생시간은 심야시간대 (00:00~04:00사이)가 가장 많았으며, 요일별로 보면 수요일이 5,652건으로, 일요일(2,988건)의 약 2 배가량 많이 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 강도범죄로 인해 신체적 피해를 입은 피해자는 사망 260 명, 상해 10,610 명으로 나타났으며, 발생장소는 노상(路上)이 10,183건(34%)으로 가장 많았고, 그 다음이 주거지로서 7,527 건(약25%)이 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 공범관계는 단독범이 15,012 명(56.1%)으로 가장 많았고, 범행시 범행도구는 소지하지 않음이 15,631건(58.4%)으로 가장 많았으나, 소지한 범행도구 중에는 칼이 6,498 건(24.3%)으로 가장 많았다. 2001년부터 2006년까지 6년 동안 대구지역에서 발생한 강도범죄는 모두 1,506 건으로 연평균 251 건이었으며, 이중 침입강도 사건은 515 건(34.2%)으로 연평 균 약 86 건이 발생하였는데, 발생시간은 역시 심야시간대(00:00~04:00사이)에서 가장 많이 발생(194 건, 37.7%)하였고, 침입 장소는 주거지(259 건, 50.3%)가 가장 많았으며, 침입구는 출입문(87 건, 33.6%)이 가장 많았고, 침입방법은 문단속이 없는 출입문이나 창문으로 침입한 것이(65 건, 25.1%) 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 그 외에 택배원 등 방문자로 가장하거나 피해자를 뒤따라 침입하는 수법도 26 건(10%)이 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 강도범죄 예방을 위해서는 국가적, 사회적 대책은 물론, 개인의 자위 방범활동도 상당히 중요한 부분을 차지한다는 것을 알 수 있었는데, 특히, 침입강도 범죄자가 시정되지 않은 출입문이나 창문을 통하여 가장 많이 침입한다는 분석결과를 볼 때 범죄예방에 대한 인식이나 노력이 많이 부족하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 범죄예방을 위한 가장 기본적인 방법 중의 하나가 문단속이라는 사실을 모르는 사람이 없을 것임에도, 이러한 기본적인 방법조차 실행하지 않아 강도범죄의 피해자가 된다는 것이 그것을 뜻한다. 따라서 본 연구에서 나타난 강도범죄의 실태를 참고하여 범죄예방에 대한 관심을 가짐으로써 강도범죄의 피해자가 한 사람이라도 줄어 들었으면 한다. 최근 과학수사에 대한 사회전반의 인식향상에 따라 경찰기관에서도 범죄분석요원, 피해자심리상담요원, 검시관 등을 특별채용하여 각 종 범죄분석 등 과학수사의 발전 기반이 마련되고 있다. 이를 토대로 범죄예방을 위한 심도있는 연구가 더욱 활발하게 이루어지기를 기대한다.
