A remark on the tariff system and the billing parameters of B-ISDN services (광대역 ISDN 서비스의 과금체계 및 과금요소 연구)

  • B-ISDN is expected to be a main vehicle of future telecommunications. There has been a series fo studies on the demand and the market prospect of B-ISDN services. It is true, however, that they lacked some economic reality since the price of services has been overlooked which is a critical economic factor. In this study, we analyze some aspects of the tariff system of B-ISDN services. First, we explore and summarize the billing parameters of B-ISDN services from diverse characteristics of services and ATM network. These parameters are essential if the services are to be charged based on usage. Secondly, we discuss what factors be considered in the design fo B-ISDN services tariff systems from various points of view shch as traffic charactristics, information types and connection types, etc. The results of this study will offer fundamental insights in the design of B-ISDN service pricing scheme and provide reference for efficient services providing.

  • 나노분말 기술은 나노기술이 성숙단계에 접어들 것으로 예상되는 2012년 내지 2015년경에 성숙될 기술이 아니라 이미 산업화가 빠른 속도로 이루어지고 있으며 나노기술의 산업화를 선도할 기술이다. 나노분말 기술은 에너지/환경은 물론 IT, BT 산업 등 거의 모든 신산업 분야에 활용되고 있거나 활용될 전망이다. 이러한 이유로 거의 모든 국가들이 수행하고 있는 나노기술개발 프로그램에 나노소재 기술이 중요한 분야로 다루어지고 있고 나노분말 소재기술 분야는 빠지지 않는 기술 분야이다. 우리나라의 나노기술개발 프로그램에서도 예외는 아니다. 많은 수의 연구과제들이 수행되고 있으며 일부 상업화에 접어든 기술들도 있다. 미국, 일본 등 거의 모든 나라에서 다수의 벤처기업들이 나노분말 기술의 상업화에 뛰어들고 있다. EU의 경우는 전체 나노소재 관련 사업체 중 절반에 해당하는 업체들이 나노분말 업체라는 점은 눈여겨 볼만하다. 앞서 살펴보았듯이 나노분말 기술은 그 자체가 하나의 산업을 이끌어낼 기술인 동시에 기존산업을 포함한 소재산업은 물론 나노기술 산업을 바탕으로부터 지탱해줄 기반기술이다. 그만큼 많은 가능성을 갖고 있으며 기술적인 장애가 하나씩 극복될 때마다 기술의 발전속도는 빨라질 것이며 시장 또한 빠르게 확대될 것이다.

An Appreciation and a Prospect on the Rotterdam Rules (로테르담 규칙에 대한 평가와 전망)

  • The Rotterdam Rules, which was adopted in December 2008 by UNCITRAL, has underlying intention that it will provide uniform law for the international carriage of goods by sea and modernize transport law reflecting modern transport custom. However, it is also true that there are various conflicting views on the Rotterdam Rules. This article tried to analyze main controversial issues such as scope of application, basis of liability of the shipper and the carrier, exception th the volume contract, legal position of the freight forwarder, delivery of the goods from the both sides of view. The Rotterdam Rules exposes some problems in applying and interpreting the Rules as many people indicated. These problems, I think, mainly due to the extended scope of application and broader range of issues. However, I do not think that the Rotterdam Rules will serious affect to the international transport industry. Furthermore, it is unreasonable to expect perfect Rules satisfying every interests.

A Study on general logistic center of agriculture products for location selection model (농산물 종합물류센터조성을 위한 입지선정 평가요인 분석)

  • The selection of proposed sites for the general logistic center of agriculture products would be made the most suitable place by considering the spread of population as real consumers, the prospect of the demand, the expansion of traffic system, the regional, hourly and carring traffic volume and the use of land based urban planning, etc. As the preconsideration, the possible occupant companies have to be selected on the category of business and the district. After posing questions and having interview, several selected regions would be compared and analysed for deciding the most suitable place. The model for the general logistic center of agricultural products must be selected taking key factors approach for choosing key factors at first and referring to many documentary records. And the more, cooperating with the specialists for location selection and making objective questions to concerned companies, the most suitable place is selected by marking high score for the moderate land cost, the low traffic jam, the connection with the back cities and the possible expansion as the general logistic center of agriculture products.

  • Aimed at fostering global human resource and utilizing it, this study presents a more systematic approach for encouraging overseas employment of the young generation. This study suggests a method for the objective evaluation of the overseas employment program through to used the M. Porter's 5-Forces and business administrative technologies. The result of this research will allow us to suggest a well-organized and more systematic frame of the international exchange programs, in which various new policies can be found. Since the overseas employment program is a non-standard, yet important, national policy plan, the future direction of the program was suggested based on the data of the previously-promoted programs.

  • 국내 이동통신은 상향과 하향 신호를 주파수 대역으로 구분하는 주파수분할(FDD: Frequency Division Duplex) 방식을 중심으로 발전해 왔으나, 최근 가용 주파수가 줄어드는 상황에서 5G 대응 및 모바일 생태계의 지속적인 발전을 위해 상향과 하향을 시간으로 구분하는 시분할(TDD: Time Division Duplex) 방식의 주파수 활용에 대한 필요성이 높아지는 추세이다. 또한, 주파수 이용 효율성, 주파수 확보 용이성, FDD-TDD 상호 호환성, TDD 생태계 조성의 필요성, 5G 신기술 수용 및 확장성 등을 고려할 때 국내 TDD 주파수 정책은 분명 새로운 전환 국면을 맞이하고 있으며, 이에 국내 환경에 적합한 TDD 정책방향을 탐색하기 위해 최근 국내외 LTE-TDD 서비스 및 시장, 주파수 및 기술 동향을 살펴보고, 향후 TDD 활용 전망을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • Quality services such as the integrated service and the differentiated service have been expected to be supported by public Internet as multimedia applications proliferate. Despite a lot of techniques for quality services have been devised, the prospect for the deployment of these techniques is not clear yet. In this research feasibility of real world quality service is investigated based on former experiments and recent trends in Internet applications. User network-based quality services are considered as the most feasible and economic short-term solution, which are also flexible in nature. Milestones and key technologies for some specific public network-based quality services are also described.

  • Test results of urban transit maglev system(UTM-01) are reported. Maglev project team in KIMM, in cooperation with Hyundai Precision Company and the Korea Electric Research Institute(KERI), has been developing a prototype urban transit vehicle since 1995. Since last May, we have been trying to improve performance of the first vehicle UTM-01 both in levitation and propulsion systems. In this paper, we report various test results of the vehicle UTM-01, present status and future prospect, and what have been done so far to assure its required performance.

  • Test Results and Status of development of the urban transit maglev system(UTM-O1) are reported. Maglev Project Team in KIMM, in cooperation with Hyundai Precision Company and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI), has successfully finished the second stage development project (1995. 5-1998. 8) and demonstrated a prototype two vehicle consisted urban maglev train operating in the speed range of 50km/h. In this paper, we report various test results of the UTM-01 system, present status of quo and future prospect, and what have been done so far to improve the performance of the maglev system overall.

  • 세계 최고 권위의 반도체 시장 조사기관인 Gartner Dataquest는 2004년 세계 메모리시장 규모는 480억 달러로 2003년의 335억 달러 대비 43% 성장하였다고 보고하고있다[1]. 또한 DRAM은 55%, 플래시 메모리는 35%를 차지하고 있으며, 이들 두 메모리가 전체 메모리 시장을 양분하고 있다[1]. DRAM은 cost 및 random access가 가능하다는 장점을 가지고 있지만 휘발성이라는 단점을 가지고 있으며, 플래시 메모리는cost 및 비휘발성의 장점을 보유하고 있으나 random access가 불가능하다는 단점을 보유하고 있다. 하지만, PRAM은 DRAM과 플래시 메모리의 장점만을 융합한 통합형메모리로서, 현재 가장 각광받고 있으며 양산화에 가장 근접한 메모리이다. 본 고에서는 PRAM의 구조 및 동작특성, 개발동향 및 향후 전망에 대해 논의하고자 한다.
