The family Ulvaceae species are difficult to distinguish from one another on the basis of morphological and cytological criteria alone. ITS2 sequences are hewn to evolve quickly and have been reported to be useful for the study of intraspecific and interspecific variation and biogeography in algae (Bakker et al., 1992). We will here describe the basic characteristics of the ITS2 sequences in Ulva and Effteromorpha to compare our result with the above previous studies. (omitted)

A new approach to the measurement of muscle fatigue by adaptive digital filtering algorithm is proposed. Unlike previously reported methods, it can estimate the muscle fatigue at every sample as the EMG signal statistics change. As a result, the muscle conduction velocity ranged between 4.2-5m/s at low tension and 3-4m/s at fatigue state.

Burn injury is occuring often in our living environment. But there has been little report on the treatment of burn on the basis of Oriental medicine. So we experienced a 53 year old female with second degree burn on the feet and reported the result of the treatment for her with Acupuncture, Herb-med, Negative therapy and Light therapy.

Self propagating High temperature Synthesised (SHS) ceramics have been widely used for various electronic applications. The investigation on SHS materials has been reported. The purposes of this study were as follows: fabricating the high temperature functional materials, and evaluating crystal structure and electrical properties. The regularities and peculiarities in SHS structures of high temperature materials as a result of the molecular interactions during burning process are considered.

While examining specimens collected in the shallow waters of Korea from 1995 to 2004, we found that Ampelisca bocki Dahl and A. naikaiensis Nagata were newly added to Korean fauna. We also provide description for A. brevicornis (Costa) based on materials collected from Korea. As a result, six species of Ampelisca are reported in Korea.

In this paper, machine learning models employed in various fields are discussed and applied to KOSPI200 stock index return forecasting. The results of hyperparameter analysis of the machine learning models are also reported and practical methods for each model are presented. As a result of the analysis, Support Vector Machine and Artificial Neural Network showed a better performance than k-Nearest Neighbor and Random Forest.

In this study we reported the Smoke Density test method of interior panel of railroad passenger car and investigated the specific smoke density(Ds) by NBS smoke chamber to the variance of some test conditions. First we compared the result of Ds from ISO 5659-2 with that from ASTM E662 for same phenol FRP Secondary studied the Ds value to the variance of resin type and to the variance of specimen shape.

Tthe structure and magnetic properties of Sm-Co/co films treated at various annealing temperatures and times are reported, The effects of an externally applied magnetic field during annealing, were also investigated. These result is discussed in terms of magnetization reversal of nano grains which seems to compete with the exchange interaction occurring between the nano grains. (omitted)

Author has studied and reported on taxonomy of Korean sedges, using gross morphology, anatomy and epidermal patterns of the leaf blades(1969, 1971, 1973, 1974). This paper is the 6th report of epidermal patterns of leaf blade on sedges and includes 5 genera, Eriophorum, Fuirena, Kobresia, Rhynchospora and Scirpus. The author proposed to find epidermal patterns of leaf blades as an important taxonomic characteristic of sedges classification. The result of this study, the elements of leaf epidermis, subsidal cells, silica body, cell wall of long cell, prickles, and arrangement of the elements are considered to be significant characteristics for the identification and classification of sedge.

Taxa of genus Callicarpa in Korea were described taxonomically and studied interspecific relationships, based on the leaf length, leaf width, peduncle length, fruit width and geograhic distribution. Among 12 taxa reported previously in Korea, 3 forms of C. japonica were unifed to original species, C. japonica var. glabra was reserved, Whereas C. shirasawana was not distributed in Korea. As a result, 7 taxa belonging to 3 species, 4 varieties of genus Callicarpa remained. C. japonica complex is considered to be more advanced among the species compared with the bract shapes.
