식염과잉 섭취 및 시상하체의 장기전기적 자극에 의한 고혈압증 유발에 관한 실험적 연구 (Effects of Chronic Excess Salt Ingestion or/and Electrical Stimulation of the Hypothalamus on Blood Pressure in the Cat)

  • The effects of excess salt ingestion or/and a prolonged electrical stimulation of the hypothalamus on the arterial blood pressure were studied in cats. The average mean arterial pressure determined in 12 control animals were $112.2{\pm}2.6\;mmHg$. In 15 animals in which 2% NaCl solution (2g/Kg of body wegight/day) was given for 20 days, average mean arterial pressure elevated to $147.7{\pm}6.1\;mmHg$. It was also found in four of them that salt-induced high blood pressure started to decline when salt solution was replaced by tap water. On the other hand, No change in average mean arterial pressure was observed in 10 animals, whose hypothalamus had been electrically stimulated for 28 days. In 11 animals in which the hypothalamus was stimulated with simultaneous excess salt ingestion for 20 days, there was a marked elevation in average mean arterial pressure which, however, does not significantly differ from that observed in excess salt ingested group. From the results obtained from the present experiment, it is concluded that 1) the hypertension is induced by an excess salt ingestion in cats, 2) the mean arterial pressure of cats is not affected at least by an increment of sympathetic tone for 4 weeks resulting from the electrical stimulation of posterior area of the hypothalamus, 3) in sodium·induced high blood pressure cats, four weeks of increment in sympathetic tone by the hypothalamic stimulation does not further elevate mean arterial pressure.

해사를 사용한 수중불분리콘크리트의 강도발현에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Strength Development of Antiwashout Underwater Concrete Using Sea Sand)

  • Recently, in the trend of using aggregate, it is common that coarse aggregate is replaced with crushed stone and fine aggregate is replaced with sea sand as a replacing aggregate. In this study, to judge the adaptability of using antiwashout underwater concrete, we used mixed sand (river sand : sea sand= 5 : 5) and changed W/C. After carrying out the research on the strength development of the compressive strength of specimen, tensile strength, fluxural strength which is produced and cured in the air and salt water, we founded that when W/C was low and the amount of AWA and SP were increased, the state of strength development was excellent.

Creep properties and damage model for salt rock under low-frequency cyclic loading

  • Triaxial compression creep tests were performed on salt rock samples using cyclic confining pressure with a static axial pressure. The test results show that, up to a certain time, changes in the confining pressure have little influence on creep properties of salt rock, and the axial creep curve is smooth. After this point, the axial creep curve clearly fluctuates with the confining pressure, and is approximately a straight line both when the confining pressure decreases and when it increases within one cycle period. The slope of these lines differs: it is greater when the confining pressure decreases than when it increases. In accordance with rheology model theory, axial creep equations were deduced for Maxwell and Kelvin models under cyclic loading. These were combined to establish an axial creep equation for the Burgers model. We supposed that damage evolution follows an exponential law during creep process and replaced the apparent stress in creep equation for the Burgers model with the effective stress, the axial creep damage equation for the Burgers model was obtained. The model suitability was verified using creep test results for salt rock. The fitting curves are in excellent agreement with the test curves, so the proposed model can well reflect the creep behavior of salt rock under low-frequency cyclic loading. In particular, it reflects the fluctuations in creep deformation and creep rate as the confining pressure increasing and decreasing under different cycle periods.

수중불분리성 콘크리트의 염화물이온 침투저항성에 대한 고찰 (Diffusion of Chloride Ion in Antiwashout Underwater Concrete)

  • Recently, the antiwashout underwater concrete has been increasingly used for underwater structure such as high strength massive concrete structures. However, Concrete has poor quality ad durability due to dilution with separating cementitious material. In this study, specimens were made with antiwashout underwater concrete replaced with mineral admixtures to improve their properties and were placed in air, water, and salt water. To estimation the chloride ion permeation in concrete, ASTM C 1202 Test was performed. The experimental results demonstrate that the increase of the admixtures improved the properties of antiwashout underwater concrete.

저식염수산발효식품의 가공에 관한 연구 5. 저식염멸치젓 및 조기젓의 가공조건 (Studies on the Processing of Low Salt Fermented. Sea Foods 5. Processing Conditions of Low Salt Fermented Anchovy and Yellow Corvenia)

  • 우리나라의 전통적인 수산발효식품 젓갈은 제조시에 첨가되는 식염의 양이 $20\%$ 전후이므로, 최근에는 이러한 식염의 과다섭취가 성인병을 유발시키는 것으로 알려져 있어 식염섭취량을 줄이고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 식염함량이 낮은 저식염젓갈의 제조와 품질개선을 목적으로 식염의 일부를 KCl로 대체하여 저식염멸치젓과 조기젓을 담그어 재래식젓갈($20\%$ 식염함량)과 숙성중의 화학성분을 비교분석하여 저식염젓의 가공조건을 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 멸치젓은 숙성 60일경에, 조기젓은 숙성 90일경에 완전히 익었으며 관능검사결과, KCl을 식염의 $50\%$까지 대체하여 담근 젓은 재래식젓갈에 비해 별손색이 없었으며, 멸치젓 및 조기젓 모두 식염 $4\%$, KCl $4\%$, lactic acid $0.5\%$, sorbitol $6\%$ 및 고추가루 알코올추출물 $4\%$(W/V)를 첨가하여 담근 젓의 품질이 가장 좋았으며 숙성 120일까지도 맛이 좋았다. 그리고 TBA 실험결과, 고추가루 추출물의 항산화성도 확인되었다.

소금(NaCl)을 된장, 간장 또는 고추장으로 대체한 우육포의 조직적 및 관능적 특성 (Textural and Sensory Properties of Beef Jerky replaced Salt with Soybean Paste, Soy Sauce or Red Pepper Paste)

  • 본 연구는 소금을 된장, 간장 및 고추장으로 대체한 우육포의 품질특성 구명 및 전통장류를 이용한 우육포의 제조가능성을 타진코자 실시하였다. 본 실험에 이용된 원료육은 한우육의 semimembranosus 근육을 이용하여 동일한 염도(15)의 소금(대조구), 된장, 간장 및 고추장을 염지액의 2% 수준으로 첨가시켜 $70^{\circ}C$에서 8시간동안 건조하였다. 수분활성도는 0.79-0.88의 범위를 만족하며, 처리구에서 대조구인 소금 첨가구에 비해 높은 수분활성도 값을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 수분함량 또한 22.98-28.87%의 범위를 보였으며, 된장과 간장 첨가구에서 대조구보다 높은 수분함량 값을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 육색 측정 결과, 된장, 간장 및 고추장 첨가구에서 대조군보다 낮은 명도 값을 나타내었고, 적색도는 대조구와 고추장 첨가구에서 된장 및 간장 첨가구에 비해 낮게 나타났다(p<0.05). 전단가 및 조직감 측정 결과, 대조구에 비해 처리구에서 낮은 전단가를 보였다. 경도 또한 대조구인 소금 첨가구에서 처리구에 비해 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 관능평가 결과, 소금을 첨가한 대조구가 6.25로 가장 높은 염도 값을 나타내어 전통장류로 대체 시 소비자들이 느끼는 염도를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 향 및 조직감에서 간장 첨가구에서 가장 높은 값을 획득하였다(p<0.05). 이러한 결과는 종합적 기호도로 이어져 간장을 첨가한 육포가 소금과 된장 및 고추장을 첨가한 육포에 비해 유의적으로 높은 선호도 값을 획득하였다(p<0.05).

분자동역학 전산모사에 의한 α6 nAChR Subunit의 α-conotoxin BuIA에 대한 선택성 연구 (Selectivity of the α6 nAChR Subunit on α-conotoxin BuIA Studied by Molecular Dynamics Simulations)

  • Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) are essential for neurotransmission and important therapeutic targets of diseases related to neurotransmission. A recent experimental study identified three residues (Lys185, Asp187, and Ile188) of the ${\alpha}6$ nAChR subunit as determinants of ${\alpha}$-conotoxin BuIA selectivity, yet how these residues confer toxin selectivity remains unclear. In this study, we performed all-atom molecular dynamics simulations with two toxin-bound ${\alpha}4{\beta}2$ nAChR systems: the wild-type ${\alpha}4{\beta}2$ and one in which we replaced the three ${\alpha}4$ subunit residues with three ${\alpha}6$ subunit residues identified in an experimental study (Tyr185Lys, Thr187Asp, and Arg188Ile). After mutation, Asp199 lost the salt bridge formed with Arg188 in the wild type located around loop C. Then, the loop C conformation changed and became more flexible than that of the wild type. We also detected reduced space between the toxin and the binding site in the mutant simulation, resulting in increased binding affinity to the toxin. Therefore, we propose a new Asp199 mutation that breaks the salt bridge and may produce similar selectivity to that of the Arg188 mutation.

CaAl2O4-CaAl4O7 혼입 포틀랜드 시멘트 결합재의 염소이온 고정 특성 (Chloride Binding Properties of Portland Cement Binder Incorporating CaAl2O4-CaAl4O7)

  • 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 구조물의 염해 내구성 향상의 일환으로써, 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트에 실험체별 다른 비율의 칼슘 알루미네이트 시멘트와 합성 CA2를 혼입하여 혼입 비율에 따른 염소이온 고정능력을 평가하였다. 침지 후 실험체의 물리·화학적 특성을 압축강도, 공극 구조, 수화물 분석으로 염소이온침투깊이를 EPMA를 통하여 고찰하였다. 클링커 조성에 CA가 34%미만일 경우 실험체의 조밀성이나 강도 발현 양상이 구조재료로서 사용 제한이 없을 것이라고 판단되었으며 CAC와 CA2를 5:5비율로 혼입하여 실험체에 치환한 실험체가 CAC 혹은 CA2만 치환한 실험체보다 염소이온 침투억제능력 과 AFm상 및 프리델 염 생성이 높은 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 결과적으로, 시멘트 페이스트 대비 칼슘 알루미네이트 클링커 치환율이 증가함에 따라 일반적으로 염소이온 고정능력이 향상하였고, CA-CA2비율에 따라 염소이온 고정 능력 및 염소이온 침투억제 능력에 차이가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 실험 범위 내에서 CA-CA2비율이 39:60이며 시멘트 페이스트 대비 10% 치환한 실험체인 M 10 가 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

Effect of Replacing Til Oil Cake by Poultry Excreta on Growth and Nutrient Utilization in Growing Bull Calves

  • An experiment was conducted for 90 days using 9 growing bull calves (initial LW 71.5 kg) to investigate the effect of replacing til oil cake by poultry excreta on growth performance and nutrient utilization. The animals were randomly divided into three groups. The control group A was fed with conventional concentrate mixture containing til oil cake, rice bran, wheat bran, bone meal and common salt and the groups B and C were offered diets in which 50 and 100 percent of til oil cake of diet A were replaced by dried poultry excreta. All the animals were fed urea soaked rice straw ad libitum and concentrate mixture was given at the rate of 10 g per kg LW. Towards the end of growth trial a conventional digestibility trial was conducted. Average daily live weight gain was 216, 211 and 188 g for animals fed diets A, B and C, respectively. Average daily dry matter intake in groups A, B and C was 3.42, 3.37 and 3.30 kg per 100 kg LW, respectively. The daily live weight gain and dry matter intake did not differ significantly (p > 0.05) among the dietary groups. The digestibility coefficient for DM or NFE was almost similar but that for OM, CP, CF and EE was significantly different (p < 0.01) among the dietary groups. TDN percent in diets A, B and C was 57.3 53.3 and 50.8, respectively and the difference was significant (p < 0.01). Animals in all the groups were in a state of positive nitrogen balance. The results indicated that til oil cake can be replaced by dried poultry excreta in bull calf ration.

새만금호 내 방수제 공사 및 준설에 의한 수리동역학적 특성 변화 수치 모델링 (Numerical Simulation on Hydrodynamic Characterization Changes Associated with the Construction of Dikes and Dredging Operations in Saemangeum Lake)

  • The study area is located on the western coast, and the inner development construction has been ongoing since 2011. The purposes of current study are to effectively simulate and quantitatively predict a temporal and spatial distributions of water temperature and salinity due to the stages of inner development construction in saemangeum reclaimed area. The transient-state numerical modeling using EFDC model is done, and the numerical simulation results are validated reasonably by repetitive numerical model calibration procedures with respect to field measurements of water temperature and salinity. The spatial distributions of water temperature and salinity show similar trends before and after construction of the dikes. In spring season, the salinity has maximum value of 21 psu, while, in summer season, the salinity shows 7 psu in a whole modeling domain. Thus, it is clearly observed that salt water is replaced by freshwater. However, the salinity and temperature reach their initial conditions at the end of the year. The salinity after construction of the dikes is lower than that before construction of them at Mankyeong area. On the other hands, after construction of the dikes, the salinity after dredging operations is higher than that before dredging. Because drastical increasing of water volume in Saemangeum Lake leads to increasing of stagnation time at bottom layer, and salt water is easily intruded to the two estuaries. Therefore, it may be concluded that hydrodynamic characteristics on Saemangeum are dominated by either Mankyeong and Dongjin discharge or sluice gates in/out-flow amounts, and thus they must be properly considered when rigorous and reasonable predictions of water temperature and salinity according to the stages of inner development construction.
