Effects of Polymer in Properties of Pre-mixed Type Mortar for Concrete Repair (폴리머가 프리믹스 타입의 보수용 모르타르의 성질에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the polymer is used as an admixture in the repair mortar, which contains various admixtures and mineral admixtures. In this study, the fresh and mechanical properties of repair mortar influenced by the types of polymers(classified as E.V.A.) and the range of polymer ratio were investigated. It was found that with increasing the ratio of polymer, mechanical properties(compressive strength, flexural strength, adhesive strength) of repair mortar is improved and drying shrinkage is increased.

  • In this study, compressive strength and adhesion strength were measured as repair materials to evaluate the mechanical and electrical properties of compression and shear specimens with self-sensing repair materials. As a result of the experiment, the strength improvement rate of the compression test specimen was higher than the section enlargement area ratio, but the shear test specimen did not show an improvement in strength as much as the section enlargement area ratio. Compression experiments under load showed high correlation between FCR-Strain and FCR-Stress, confirming self-sensing performance. However, the shear test did not show as much correlation as the compression test. Accordingly, it is judged that the self-sensing repair material is suitable for the compression member on which the compression load acts in the building.

  • Purpose: Most if buildings need various repair works for preventing or delaying the deterioration which gives rise to affect the living condition or function after constructed. Therefore, a long-term repair schedule should be planned and a repair cost is required. In this paper, it aimed at providing the statistical forecast model for a repair cost in roof water-proofing work and elevator work using statistical approach with three variables such as number of household, management area and a elapsed year. Data are collected in apartment housings which are located in Seoul area and conducted with interview and questionnaire sheet. Each analyzed work is divided into a partly work and fully work. Results of this study are shown that, first, the regression model takes a multiplying type like a Cobb-Douglas function and is changed into the log-linear type to include the three variable simultaneously. Second, the goodness-of-fit of the repair cost forecasting model has a good statistics in determinant's coefficient and Dubin-Watson value. Third, the management area is stronger factor than other the number of household and an elapsed year in roof water-proofing work and elevator work.

  • The compatibility of concrete repairs is proposed by D. Cusson et al. and N. K. Emberson et al. But this is the general compatibility of concrete repairs. This study is actualized the general compatibility of concrete repairs on the flexural specimen under bending load. This study is obtained following results. 1) As a results of analysis for repair effects on failure shape, debonding between concrete and repairs, yielding load and ultimate/yielding ratio, the repair effects is ascertained that the repair R3 is much excellent than the repair R7, but on the other hand R7 is very high than R3 on the viewpoint of compressive strength, where repair R7, R3 is a product. 2) Therefore the compatibility of concrete repair proposed by D. Cusson et al. and N. K. Emberson et al. must be reanalyzed for structures types of column, beam, wall, slab et al.

  • In TFT-LCD manufacturing process, various defects are generated by manufacturing machine trouble or particle. These defects can be repaired through the TFT-Laser repair process that only can't be automated in TFT-LCD manufacturing Process. In this Paper, we propose auto defect algorithm for TFT-LCD laser repair machine using image processing algorithm in order to automate process. Proposed algorithm can detect very small defects (< 2um) in 98% success ratio, and generated laser repair path guarantee highly precise position accuracy. Through proposed system, much of the work still done the old-fashioned way, by hand, can be automated and manufacturing company can be strengthed the competitiveness of cost.

Determining Major Items of Scheduled Maintenance for Apartment through Case Data: Focused on Improving the Establishment Standard for Long-term Repair Program (사례 데이터 분석을 통한 공동주택 계획수선 주요 항목 도출: 법령 상의 장기수선계획 수립기준 현실화를 중심으로)

  • The long-term repair program is significant as the execution standard for apartment in repair construction, and provides the basis for effective facility management through appropriation reserve and preventive maintenance. Considering its importance, the government legislates the items, cycle, and ratio for long-term repair. However, the frequent changes, controversies on repair, and difficulties in using appropriation reserve are caused as the items have not been revised on time reflecting up-to-date construction technologies. In order to resolve these problems, it is required to improve the standard by evaluating the appropriateness of repair items throughout the analysis of actual conditions. This study aims to suggest the revision plan for the criteria with the major items based on the status identified by the actual long-term repair programs and historical repair construction data. To do this, the adoption ratios of items to program are reviewed by collecting the real cases of the long-term repair programs. Developing improvement plan was approached in two ways such as "exclusion method" deleting minimum unnecessary items and "selection method" sorting out items with high adoption ratio and evidence of repair in a positive manner. Aa a result, the major items were identified as 118 items and 73 items by exclusion method and selection method respectively from the current 147 items. The outcomes of this study are expected to contribute enhancing the practicality of the standard in that the regulation for long-term repair program should periodically reflect the status of currently applied construction methods and materials.

Evaluation of Steel Corrosion and Flexural Strength Coated with Cementitious Repair Material (시멘트계 보수재료로 코팅된 강재의 부식 및 휨강성 평가)

  • The present work is for an evaluation of resistance to corrosion in steel coated with cementitious repair material, so that 3 cases of steel plate(Normal, Welding, Welding & coating case) are subjected to ICM(Impressed Current Method) for acceleration of corrosion for 7days. Tested and estimated corrosion ratio through Faraday's Law are compared, and the related flexural strength are evaluated. In Normal and Welding cases, similar level of corrosion ratio(70%) is evaluated, however only 17% level of corrosion ratio is evaluated in the Welding & coating case, which indicates that cementitious repair material is effective to anti-corrosion due to a block of chloride penetration. The flexural test results are consistent with those in accelerated corrosion test, which shows a significant flexural strength in Welding & coating case by 3.4times greater than the others. The cementitious material repair coating is evaluated to be effective to anti-corrosion in welding of steel plate.

  • We have developed an automated circuit defect inspection and repair method that can be used to improve the yield ratio of TFT-LCD. The method focuses on correcting resist patterns after the development process to ensure shape regularity. We built a prototype system and confirmed that the method is valid.

Case Study of Non-Metallic Repair Systems for Metallic Piping

  • Non-metallic composite overwrap repair methods utilize resin based fiber-reinforced composite materials, which have higher specific strength to weight ratio and stiffness, superior corrosion and fatigue resistance, and substantially reduced weight when compared to carbon steel. Non-metallic repair methods/systems can allow desired functional properties to be achieved at a respectable economic advantage. For example, non-metallic composite repair systems have at least a 50 year design stress of 20 ksi and approximately 25% of the short term tensile strength of fiberglass. For these systems, the contribution of the repaired steel to the load carrying capability need not be considered, as the strength of the repair itself is sufficient to carry the internal pressure. Worldwide experience in the Oil & Gas industry confirms the integrity, durability, inherent permanency, and cost-effectiveness of non-metallic composite repair or rehabilitation systems. A case study of a recent application of a composite repair system in Saudi Aramco resulted in savings of 37% for offshore subsea line and 75% for onshore above grade pipeline job. Maintaining a pipeline can be costly but it is very small in comparison to the cost of a failure. Pipeline proponents must balance maintenance costs with pipeline integrity. The purpose is not just to save money but also to attain a level of safety that is acceptable. This technology involves the use of an epoxy polymer resin based, fiber-reinforced composite sleeve system for rehabilitation and /or repair pipelines.

  • In the repair and repair works, epoxy resins are widely used as repair materials. The successful concrete repairs and retrofit works depends on the quality of the repair and retrofit materials. Although many materials for the repairs and retrofit have been developed in many contries, information on the repair methods are somewhat limited. Futhermore, the repairs and retrofit methods are also largely dependent on those froms in other developed contries, it is necessary to initiate rather fundamental repair-related research. The purpose of this study is to investigate th physical and mechanical properties of epoxy resin which is commonly used in repairing concrte crack in RC structures. The basic physical properties such as specific gravity, gel point and shrinkage ratio as well as the mechanical properties such ad the tensile and compressive strength, elastic modulus were acquired by the standard test method (KS code). For the test results, the great deviations of physical and mechanical properties among the test materials were discovered and is, therefore, recommended that careful attentions should be give in selecting the epoxy resin by considering the characteristics of the repair materials and repair works.
