This paper describes the design and development of a smart digital load cell used forweighing installations. Sice the load cell sensor to be used is very sensitive for weight cariation, the load cell must have the temperature stability, low-drift and the high-resolution of the A/D conversion for accuracy. A new analog circuit which is controlled by one chip micro-processer has been developed to reduce the offset voltage and the drift characteristics of operational amplifiers, and has been adapted into the digital load cell. Also, a software algorithm has been developed to obtain the stable and accurate A/D conversion. This software includes a RS-485 communication program to control the digital load cell, which gives a capability of backing-up the calibration data and transferring control data. The simulation and evaluation of the designed digital load cell has been shown as having the good performance. which will give useful application to the weighing installations as a remote weighing sensor.

SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system is widely used for remote monitoring and control throughout the domestic industry. Due to a recent breach of security on SCADA systems, such as Stuxnet, the need of correctly established secure certification of a control system is growing. Currently, EDSA-CRT (Embedded Device Security Assurance-Communication Robustness Test), which tests the ability to provide core services properly in a normal/abnormal network protocol, is only focused on the testing of IP-based protocols such as IP, ARP, TCP, etc. Thus, in this paper, we propose test requirements for DNP3 protocol based on EDSA-CRT. Our analysis show that the specific test cases provide plentiful evidences that DNP3 should follow based on its functional requirements. As a result, we propose 33 specific test case for DNP3 protocol.

Architecture generation is the first step in the design of software systems. Most of the qualities that the final software system possesses are usually decided at the architecture development stage itself. Thus, if the final system should be usable, testable, secure, high performance, mobile and adaptable, then these qualities or non-functional requirements should be engineered into the architecture itself. In particular, adaptability is emerging as an important attribute required by almost all software systems. The machinery and tools in the remote site surveillance and connects intelligence information machinery and tools at Internet. We need the server which uses different embedded operating system to become private use. With the progress of information-oriented society, many device with advanced technologies invented by many companies. However, the current firmware technologies have many problems to meet such high level of new technologies. In this paper, we have successfully ported linux on an embedded system, which is based on intel Strong ARM SA-1110 processor, then written several network modules for internet-based network devices.

Ubiquitous mobile computing is becoming easier and more attractive in this ambient technological Internet world. However, some portable devices such as Personal Digital Assistant (PDAs) and smart phones are still encountering inherent constraints of limited storages and computing resources. To alleviate this problem, we develop a cost-effective protocol, iATA to transfer ATA commands and data over TCP/IP network between mobile appliances and stationary servers. It provides mobile users a virtual storage platform which is physically resided at remote home or office. As communications are made through insecure Internet connections, security risks of adopting this service become a concern. There are many reported cases in the history where attackers masquerade as legitimate users, illegally access to network-based applications or systems by breaking through the poor authentication gates. In this paper, we propose a mutual authentication and secure session termination scheme as the first and last defense steps to combat identity thief and fraud threat in particular for iATA services. Random validation factors, large prime numbers, current timestamps, one-way hash functions and one-time session key are deployed accordingly in the scheme. Moreover, we employ the concept of hard factorization problem (HFP) in the termination phase to against fraud termination requests. Theoretical security analysis discussed in later section indicates the scheme supports mutual authentication and is robust against several attacks such as verifiers' impersonation, replay attack, denial-of-services (DoS) attack and so on.

Ultra-wideband antennas are desired for several applications including satellite communications, radars, remote sensing system, telescopes, and microwave imaging systems. There are many types of wideband antenna structures, but the tapered slot Vivaldi antenna is advantageous in terms of cost, weight, scan angle capabilities, end-fire radiation, and ease of feeding and system integration. In this paper, a modified antipodal Vivaldi antenna is presented. A novel AVA with H-shaped parasitic patches has the capacity to improve the radiation characteristics in the whole operation frequencies. A prototype of the modified antenna with RT/duroid 5880 substrate of a relative dielectric constant (${\epsilon}_r$) of 2.2, and a thickness of 31mil is fabricated and experimentally studied as well. It measures a ${\mid}S_{11}{\mid}$ of less than -10dB and gain of 9-12dBi over 7.8-52.5GHz which shows reasonable agreement with the simulated one.

In the recent years, an attempts have been made to convergence medical technology and IT technology to overcome the limitations of temporal, spatial in the medical technology applications. Emergency care is primarily intended to provide primary care and stabilization to the patient, thereby saving the patient's life and minimizing the risk until hospital care. In this study, we developed an application S/W to support emergency services for emergency medical services. Paramedics can easily keep a log of emergency activities and monitor the patient's condition in real time with this application S/W on smart devices. In particular, medical signals and information emergency status of emergency patients can be measured or photographs of affected areas can be taken. In addition, this report can be delivered to remote medical doctors for rapid emergency measures and immediate hospital response.
In this paper, we propose an IoT based smart outlet system for one-person household with electric safety, electric energy consumption management and transmission of messages to the reserved contacts by connecting the emergency network. The proposed smart outlet system is implemented by parsing packet data and protocol between server, module, application and WiFi AP receiver. The WiFi AP built for communication can be used not only for the outlet but also for the gas barrier, the door lock and the like. In addition, the proposed method can provide the remote monitoring function by receiving the amount of power of the receptacle received through the AC current sensor (SCT-013) in real time. The smart outlet system is expected to be capable of automatically shutting off the power in case of emergency through automatic power use analysis in addition to the standby power cutoff function.
In recent years, increasing the variety of disasters and accidents that accompany large-scale damage. Disasters are accidents with uncertainty and have a direct impact on people's lives, safety and property protection. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and operate safety management systems such as prevention, response, and recovery for various disasters. Therefore, in this paper, a real-time disaster safety management solution in a smart environment was designed to systematically respond to disaster accidents. To this end, 1: 1 or 1: N situation propagation was performed to the situation room, related organizations, and experts through smart devices. Through this, the solution was configured to respond quickly and appropriately through multi-party information sharing and communication. In other words, we designed a solution that applied functions such as real-time and multi-party HD video transmission, mobile-type report management, voice / text situation propagation, location information sharing, recording and history management, and security.
Information and communication technologies(ICT) allow and force people to work anywhere, anytime using remote databases and application systems available in real-time twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. With the real time nature of ICT, individual work is becoming more and more fragmented. Instead of working on a similar task repeatedly, individuals are required to respond to e-mails and inquiries through social networks, work on planning documents, work on presentation documents, work on spreadsheets, input necessary data on company databases, generate necessary reports from the database, run teleconference, etc., all maybe in a day's work. Work fragmentation may impact negatively on productivity as the flow is interrupted, but it may increase the productivity by allowing people to handle multiple tasks in a shorter time period. This study explores the types of work fragmentation and their characteristics. An online survey was administered to collect data about work fragmentation and work characteristics including autonomy, complexity, flexibility, usage of ICT, etc. 300 cases were used in the analysis. Analysis of k-mean cluster indicated four different types of work fragmentation: concentrated, temporally distributed, spatially distributed, and fully fragmented.
