VARTM (Vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding) process is a low-cost process technology and affiliated with OoA (Out of Autoclave). Besides, it has been widely used in various fields. However, because of its lower quality than the autoclave process, it isn't easy to apply the VARTM process to the aerospace industry, which requires high reliability. The main problem of the VARTM process is the loss of mechanical properties due to the low fiber volume fraction and high void content in comparison to the autoclave. Therefore, many researchers have studied to reduce void and increase fiber volume fraction. This study examines whether the method of controlling atmospheric pressure could increase the fiber volume fraction and reduce void during the resin impregnation process. Reliability evaluation was confirmed by compressive strength test, fiber volume fraction analysis, and optical microscopy. As a result, it was confirmed that increasing the atmospheric pressure step by step in the VARTM process of impregnating the preform with resin effectively increases the fiber volume fraction and reduces void.
This study analyzed the managerial efficiency of 11 organizations, the branch centers of a occupational health service organization in Korea, using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The DEA is a good method for evaluating health services since it can handle multiple inputs and outputs simultaneously, and also identify the sources and amount of inefficiency. The author approached this study using two efficient models: the monetary value model and the real value model. The DEA method based on the monetary value model included cost factors, while the real value model excluded cost factors. The input variables used were manpower of physicians, medical technicians, nurses, industrial hygienists and administrators; labor, maintenance, and material expenses. The output variables used were the number of medical examinations, workplace evaluations, group health management services and income from each service. The major results were as follows: First, in the monetary value model, 6 out of 11 organizations (54.6%) showed an efficiency score of 1.0, which means that they have been operating in very efficient ways. However, 5 organizations (46.4%) showed themselves to be relatively inefficient. Second, in the real value model, 7 out of 11 organizations (63.4%) showed an efficiency score of 1.0, which means they have been operating efficiently, while 4 organizations (46.4%) showed themselves to be relatively inefficient. Third, the reliability of DEA method were analyzed by comparing the results of the monetary value model and real value model. The results of 8 out of 11 organizations were same in terms of being efficient or not. Thus, the DEA could be a valid application method for occupational health service organizations. Fourth, the organizations that displayed common inefficiency in both the monetary value model and in the real value model 3, 9, and 10, were also considered to be managed inefficiency from expertise opinion. In summary, this study evaluated the efficiency of occupational health service organizations applying the DEA method with different variables, and found that the results of analysis could be valid in terms of both modeling and expert sense. In the future, the DEA method will be used as a useful tool to identify and evaluate the efficiency of occupational health service organizations through more applications and refinements.

This study has done to search for a solution to remove risk limitedly caused by separating weapon system acquisition from operation and maintenance at the view point of Logistic Commander who's responsible for stable operation and maintenance after acquiring weapon system. At the System development stage, unverified overhaul development plan may cause additional manpower and costs after the development, and furthermore it is likely to have risk to lower reliability of the military. Thus, research and development agency should write overhaul development plan at the System development stage, and it should be verified through evaluation and verification test. Secondly, during research and development, institutional supplementation is needed to calculate human and material resources writing overhaul development plan. Thirdly, it should be able to analyze proper operation & maintenance plan and cost for overhaul plan at the pre-investigation stage. Fourthly, the base which can develop overhaul concept and overhaul factors should be included in the need and need determination document. Lastly, for the weapon system which has small amount of high power figure, project management should be performed to be able to specify at the each acquisition level of weapon system to realize Article 28, clause 3 and 4 of Defense business law.

The monitoring of environmental information (e.g. noise, dust, vibration, temperature, humidity) is crucial to the safe and sustainable operation of a construction site. However, commercial sensors exhibit certain drawbacks when applied on-site. First, the installation cost is prohibitively high. Second, these sensors have been engineered without considering the rugged and harsh conditions of a construction site, resulting in error-prone sensing. Third, construction sites are compelled to allocate additional resources in terms of manpower, expenses, and physical spaces to accommodate individual sensors. This research developed an integrated sensing module to measure the environmental information in construction site. The sensing module slashes the installation cost to 3.3%, is robust enough to harsh and outdoor sites, and consolidates multiple sensors into a single unit. The sensing module also supports GPS, LTE, and real-time sensing. The evaluation showed remarkable results including 97.5% accuracy and 99.9% precision in noise measurement, an 89.7% accuracy in dust measurement, and a 93.5% reliability in data transmission. This research empowers the collection of substantial volumes and high-quality environmental data from construction sites, providing invaluable support to decision-making process. These encompass objective regulatory compliance checking, simulations of environmental data dispersion, and the development of environmental mitigation strategies.

Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks (IWSNs) is exploited to achieve various objectives such as improving productivity and reducing cost in the diversity of industrial application, and it has requirements such as low-delay and high reliability packet transmission. To accomplish the requirement, the network manager performs graph construction and resource allocation about network topology, and determines the transmission cycle and path of each node in advance. However, this network management scheme cannot treat mobile devices that cause continuous topology changes because graph reconstruction and resource reallocation should be performed as network topology changes. That is, despite the growing need of mobile devices in many industries, existing scheme cannot adequately respond to path failure caused by movement of mobile device and packet loss in the process of path recovery. To solve this problem, a network management scheme is required to prevent packet loss caused by mobile devices. Thus, we analyse the location and movement cycle of mobile devices over time using machine learning for predicting the mobility pattern. In the proposed scheme, the network manager could prevent the problems caused by mobile devices through performing graph construction and resource allocation for the predicted network topology based on the movement pattern. Performance evaluation results show a prediction rate of about 86% compared with actual movement pattern, and a higher packet delivery ratio and a lower resource share compared to existing scheme.

Purpose : To shorten processing time for variety of medical affairs of the patient at the outpatient clinic of a big hospital is very important to qualify medical care of the patient. Therefore, patient's waiting time for drug delivery after doctor's prescription is often utilized as a strong tool to evaluate patient satisfaction with a medical care provided. We performed this study to investigate factors influencing patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery. Methods : The data were collected from July 21 to August 12, 1998. A total 535 patients or their families who visited outpatient clinics of Inha University Hospital were subjected to evaluate the drug delivery time and the level of their satisfaction related, which were compared with those objectively evaluated by Quality Improvement Team. The reliability of the scale was tested with Cronbach's alpha, and the data were analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression. Results : The mean drug delivery time subjectively evaluated by the patient (16.1 13.0 min) was longer than that objectively evaluated (10.9 7.6 min) by 5.2 min. Drug delivery time objectively evaluated was influenced by the prescription contents, total amount or type of drug dispensed, etc, as expected. The time discrepancy between two evaluations was influenced by several causative factors. One of those proved to be a patient's late response to the information from the pharmacy which the drug is ready to deliver. Interestingly, this discrepancy was found to be more prominent especially when waiting place for drug delivery was not less crowded. Other factors, pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, emotional status or behavior of a patient while he waits for the medicine, were also found to influence the time subjectively evaluated. Regarding the degree of patient satisfaction with the drug delivery, majority of patients accepted drug delivery time with less than 10 min. It was also found to be influenced by emotional status of the patient as well as kindness or activity of pharmaceutical counselor. Conclusion : The results show that, besides prescription contents, behavior pattern or emotional status of a patient, environment of the waiting place, and quality of pharmaceutical counseling at the pharmacy, may influence the patient's subjective evaluation of waiting time for drug delivery and his satisfaction related with the service in the big hospital. In order to improve patient satisfaction related with waiting time for drug delivery, it will be cost effective to qualify pharmaceutical counseling and information system at the drug delivery site or waiting place rather than to shorten the real processing time within the pharmacy.

Recent popularity in mobile electronics requires higher standard on the mechanical strength of electronic packaging. Thus, the method of soldering between chip and substrate in electronic packaging process is changing from conventional method using intermetallic compound to a new method using organic solderability preservatives (OSP) in order to improve the stability and the reliability of final product. Since current OSPs have several serious problems like thermo-stability during packaging process, however, it is necessary to develop new OSPs having thermo-stability. The main purpose of this study is to develop various thermo-stable OSPs based upon poly(vinyl pyridine-co- methylmethacrylate) and to evaluate their anti-oxidation property protecting Cu pad, thermo-stability and solubility to acid- or alcohol-containing aqueous solution during pos-fluxing. All OSPs showed not only good anti-oxidation property, thermo-stability and solubility but also more advantages like low cost, less odor, and less hygroscopic.

As atmospheric fine dust problems in Korea become more serious, there are growing needs to find the concentration of fine particles in indoor and outdoor areas and there are increasing demands for sensor-based portable monitoring devices capable of measuring fine dust concentrations instantly. The low-cost portable monitoring devices have been widely manufactured and used without the prescribed certification standards which would cause unnecessary confusion to the concerned public. To evaluate the reliability those devices and to improve their usability, following studies were conducted in this work; 1) The comparisons between sensor-based devices and comparison with more accurate devices were performed. 2) Several experiments were conducted to understand usefulness of the portable monitoring devices. As results, the absolute concentration levels need to be adjusted due to insensitivity of the tiny light scattering sensors in the portable devices, but their linearity and reproducibility seem to be acceptable. By using those monitoring devices, users are expected to have benefits of recognizing the changes of concentration more quickly and could help preventing themselves from the adverse health impacts.
The projects of citizen science which is originated from citizen data collecting action driven by governmental institutes and science associations have been implemented with different form of collaboration with scientists. The themes of citizen science has extended from the ecology to astronomy, distributed computing, and particle physics. Citizen science could contribute to the advancement of science through cost-effective science research based on citizen volunteer data collecting. In addition, citizen science enhance the public understanding of science by increasing knowledge of citizen participants. The community-led citizen science projects could raise public awareness of environmental problems and promote the participation in environmental problem-solving. Citizen science projects based on local tacit knowledge can be of benefit to the local environmental policy decision making and implementation of policy. These social values of citizen science make many countries develop promoting policies of citizen science. The korean government also has introduced some citizen science projects. However there are some obstacles, such as low participation of citizen and scientists in projects which the government has to overcome in order to promote citizen science. It is important that scientists could recognize values of citizen science through the successful government driven citizen science projects and the evaluation tool of scientific career could be modified in order to promote scientist's participation. The project management should be well planned to intensify citizen participation. The government should prepare open data policy which could support a data reliability of the community-led monitoring projects. It is also desirable that a citizen science network could be made with the purpose of sharing best practices of citizen science.

The application of a reliable motion simulator can contribute effectively in the evaluation of the performance of a vehicle platform in the development stage of a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Therefore, the research on a reliable motion simulator can accelerate the development of UAV and decrease the relevant cost. In this paper, the design factors considered in the preliminary design stage of a 6 degree-of freedom motion simulator are defined and the motion range of the simulator is described on the basis of these design factors. The length, acceleration, and the required thrust of actuators with respect to the motion simulator under development are also predicted. The motion range can be increased and a suitable actuator can be selected and produced by applying these results in the manufacturing process of the motion simulator. Thus, the reliability of the motion simulators can be achieved during the actual design operation of the UAV.
