Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relative weight gain at 2-week intervals up to 6 weeks after birth to predict retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) requiring treatment among very low birth weight infants. Methods: A total of 211 preterm infants with birth weights <1,500 g and gestational age <32 weeks were retrospectively reviewed. The main outcome was the development of ROP requiring treatment. Body weight measurements were recorded daily. Relative weight gains (g/kg/day) were calculated at the second, fourth, and sixth week after birth. Results: Of the 211 infants, 89 developed ROP, of which 41 spontaneously regressed and 48 with early treatment of ROP type I required laser treatment. The relative weight gain at 2, 4, and 6 weeks postnatal age was significantly lower in infants with ROP requiring treatment than in infants without ROP or those with spontaneous regression (P<0.001, P=0.005, and P=0.004, respectively). On logistic regression, poor relative weight gain in the first 2 weeks was found to be related to ROP requiring treatment (adjusted odds ratio, 0.809; 95% confidence interval, 0.695-0.941; P=0.006). Relative weight gain at 2 weeks postnatal age was significantly lower in infants with ROP requiring treatment compared to that in ROP requiring no treatment (P=0.012). Conclusion: Poor postnatal weight gain in the first 2 weeks of life is an important and independent risk factor for ROP requiring treatment. Postnatal weight gain can predict the development of severe ROP requiring treatment.
The purpose of this study is to deal with vocabulary in KFL. As a result of this study, learners learned vocabulary on average 43 points through contextual inference and introduction of the class to activate background knowledge. In particular, the implicit method showed the highest learning rate of 52 points, and the thematic method had a 41 point-learning rate. In contrast, the semantic method was the lowest with a 25 point-learning rate. There was no significant difference in the improvement rate of upper vocabulary learners, but in the case of the lower learner, there was significant difference in the improvement rate. The difference was not significant in the post-test relative gain rate of upper learners, but there was significant in lower learners. In the delayed test relative gain rate, the difference was significant in all groups. There was correlation between vocabulary difficulty and score, but there was no correlation with the thematic method. And there was no correlation between vocabulary difficulty, improvement rate and relative gain rate in all three classes. However, content understanding, lexical grade, improvement rate, and relative gain rate showed a significant correlation.
The KOMPSAT-2 satellite is a push-broom system with MSC (Multi Spectral Camera) which contains a panchromatic band and four multi-spectral bands covering the spectral range from 450nm to 900nm. The PAN band is composed of six CCD array with 2528 pixels. And the MS band has one CCD array with 3792 pixels. Raw imagery generated from a push-broom sensor contains vertical streaks caused by variability in detector response, variability in lens falloff, pixel area, output amplifiers and especially electrical gain and offset. Relative radiometric calibration is necessary to account for the detector-to-detector non-uniformity in this raw imagery. Non-uniformity correction (NUC) is that the process of performing on-board relative correction of gain and offset for each pixel to improve data compressibility and to reduce banding and streaking from aggregation or re-sampling in the imagery. A relative gain and offset are calculated for each detector using scenes from uniform target area such as a large desert, forest, sea. In the NUC of KOMPSAT-2, The NUC table for each pixel are divided as HF NUC (high frequency NUC) and LF NUC (low frequency NUC) to apply to few restricted facts in the operating system ofKOMPSAT-2. This work presents the algorithm and process of NUC table generation and shows the imagery to compare with and without calibration.
In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. The concept of relative gain matrix is used to obtain the input-output pairs. However, among the input/output variables which are not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by tile introduction of a simple compensator. This compensator adjusts the degree of coupling between variables using a neural network. In this proposed neuro-fuzzy controller, the Neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm, adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables.

This paper presents the applicability of MIMO joint decoding to dual-contact satellite systems in which two LEO satellites using X-band frequency band are transmitting each image data to two ground station antennas, simultaneously. When two satellites are closely positioned within the looking angle of the two antennas, each satellite interferes with each other by the relative antenna gain corresponding to an offset angle and this might cause the performance degradation without interference mitigation. To mitigate the performance degradation, SM MIMO techniques for joint decoding are applied. Especially, the relative antenna gain of ground station depending on the angle difference between two satellites in ground station antenna plays an important role in modelling the dual-contact satellite systems. The condition number of MIMO channel including the antenna gain calculated from the mathematical gain pattern model was primarily analyzed. Simulation results showed that the SM MIMO techniques using detection schemes such as ZF-SIC, MMSE-SIC, and ML can be applicable to dual-contact satellite systems.
Effects of Astragali Radix extract (AG) on the cell mediated-and nonlpecific immunotoxic responses of zinc chloride (Zn) were studied usign ICR mice. Mice were divided into 4 groups (10 mice/group), and Zn was given to the mice 1 hr after i.p. injection with 0.5g/kg of AG by i.p. injection daily for 10 days at a dose of 25 mg/kg. Immune responses on the responses on the relative weight of thymus, delayed-type hypersensitivity to SRBC (DTH), phagocytic activity and circulating leukocytes were evaluated. Zn treatment decreased body weight gain, the relative weight of thymus, DTH and circulating leukocytes compared with those in controls. AG treatment increased DTH, phagocytic activity and circulating leukocytes compared with those in controls. Combination of AG and Zn increased DTH and circulating leukocytes compared with those in controls, but decreased body weight gain and the relative weight of thymus. These findings indicated that AG decreased immunotoxicity of Zn on the DTH and circulating leukocytes.
In this paper the IMM(Interacting Multiple model) algorithm using the MGEKF(Modified Gain Extended Kalman Filter) which modes are variances of the process noises is proposed to enhance the performance of maneuvering target tracking with bearing and frequency measurements. The state are composed of relative position, relative velocity, relative acceleration and doppler frequency. The mode probability is calculated from the bearing and frequency measurements. The proposed algorithm is tested a series of computer simulation runs.
The aim was to determine the relative bioavailability of phosphorus (P) in peas for 21-day old broiler chickens using slope-ratio assay. One hundred and sixty eight male Ross 308 broiler chicks were divided into 42 groups 4 balanced for body weight and fed 7 diets in a completely randomized design (6 groups/diet) from day 1 to 21 of age. The diets were a corn-soybean meal basal diet, and the corn-soybean meal basal diet to which monosodium phosphate, brown- or yellow-seeded pea was added at the expense of cornstarch to supply 0.5% or 1% total phosphorus. Monosodium phosphate was included as a reference, and hence the estimated bioavailability of P in pea cultivars was relative to that in the monosodium phosphate. Birds and feed were weighed weekly and on d 21 they were killed to obtain tibia. The brown-seeded pea contained 23.4% crude protein, 0.47% P, whereas the yellow-seeded pea contained 24.3% crude protein and 0.38% P. Increasing dietary P supply improved (p<0.05) chick body weight gain and tibia ash and bone density. The estimated relative bioavailability of p values for brown- and yellow-seeded peas obtained using final body weight, average daily gain, tibia ash, and bone mineral density were 31.5% and 36.2%, 35.6% and 37.3%, 23.0% and 5.60%, and 40.3% and 30.3%, respectively. The estimated relative bioavailability of p values for brown- and yellow-seeded peas did not differ within each of the response criteria measured in this study. In conclusion, the relative bioavailability of P in pea did not differ depending on the cultivar (brown- vs yellow-seed). However, the relative bioavailability of P in pea may vary depending on the response criterion used to measure the bioavailability.

Many spoofing detection studies have been conducted to cope with the most difficult types of deception among various disturbances of GPS, such as jamming, spoofing, and meaconing. In this paper, we propose a spoofing detection scheme based on elevation masked-relative received power between GPS L1 and L2 signals in a system using a multi-band array antenna. The proposed scheme focuses on enabling spoofing to be normally detected and minimizes the possibility of false detection in an environment where false alarms may occur due to pattern distortion among elements of an array antenna. The pattern distortion weakens the GPS signal strength at low elevation. It becomes confusing to detect a spoofing signal based on the relative power difference between GPS L1 and L2, especially when GPS L2 has weak signal strength. We propose design parameters for the relative power threshold including beamforming gain, the minimum received power difference between L1 and L2, and the patch antenna gain difference between L1 and L2. In addition, in order to eliminate the weak signal strength of GPS L2 in the spoofing detection process, we propose a rotation matrix that sets the elevation mask based on platform coordinates. Array antennas generally do not have high usefulness in commercial areas where receivers are operated alone, but are considered essential in military areas where GPS receivers are used together with signal processing for beamforming in the direction of GPS satellites. Through laboratory and live sky tests using the device under test, the proposed scheme with an elevation mask detects spoofing signals well and reduces the probability of false detection relative to that without the elevation mask.

A horn antenna with corrugation structure and a PTFE(Polytetrafluoroethylene) teflon(relative permittivity=2.1) dielectric lens for good impedance matching characteristic and high gain performance is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna shows measured return loss below -25 dB over the operating X band(8~12 GHz), the peak gain of 22.3 dBi at the center frequency(10 GHz) and has overall size of $110mm{\times}110mm{\times}135mm$. Considering the performance of the proposed antenna, it is suitable for being inserted in a radar level transmitters, particularly for gas tanks on vessels or off-shore plants containing gas with very low reflectivity and relative permittivity such as LNG or LPG.
