  • The dimensional accuracy and consistency of a dual oil circuit centrifugal fuel nozzle are important for fuel distribution and combustion efficiency in an engine combustion chamber. A point cloud measurement method was proposed to solve the geometric accuracy detection problem for the fuel nozzle. An improved variance focus measure operator was used to extract the depth point cloud. Compared with other traditional sharpness evaluation functions, the improved operator can generate the best evaluation curve, and has the least noise and the shortest calculation time. The experimental results of point cloud slicing measurement show that the best window size is 24 × 24 pixels. In the height measurement experiment of the standard sample block, the relative error is 2.32%, and in the fuel nozzle cone angle measurement experiment, the relative error is 2.46%, which can meet the high precision requirements of a dual oil circuit centrifugal fuel nozzle.

  • In this study, we developed a Portable Multi-sensor System, which consists of a video camera, a GPS/MEMS IMU and a UMPC to acquire video images and position/attitude data. We performed image georeferencing based on the bundle adjustment without ground control points using the acquired data and then evaluated the effectiveness of our system through the accuracy verification. The experimental results showed that the RMSE of relative coordinates on the ground point coordinates obtained from our system was several centimeters. Our system can be efficiently utilized to obtain the 3D model of object and their relative coordinates. In future, we plan to improve the accuracy of absolute coordinates through the rigorous calibration of the system and camera.

  • Recently, we have been witnessing new records of crude oil price hikes. One question which naturally arises would be the possibility and accuracy of forecasting crude oil prices. This study tries to answer the relative predictability of futures prices compared to the forecasts based on experts system. Using WTI crude oil spot and futures prices, this study performs simple statistical comparisons in forecasting accuracy and a formal test of differences in forecasting errors. According to statistical results, WTI crude oil futures market turns out to be equally efficient relative to EIA experts system. Consequently, WTI crude oil futures market could be utilized as a market-based tool for price forecasting and/or resource allocation for both of petroleum producers and consumers.

  • The human chromosome analysis is widely used to diagnose genetic disease and various congenital anomalies. Many researches on automated chromosome karyotype analysis has been carried out, some of which produced commercial systems. However, there still remains much room or improving the accuracy of chromosome classification. In this paper, We propose an optimal pattern classifier by neural network to improve the accuracy of chromosome classification. The proposed pattern classifier was built up of multi-step multi-layer neural network(MMANN). We reconstructed chromosome image to improve the chromosome classification accuracy and extracted three morphological features parameters such as centromeric index(C.I.), relative length ratio(R.L.), and relative area ratio(R.A.). This Parameters employed as input in neural network by preprocessing twenty human chromosome images. The experiment results show that the chromosome classification error is reduced much more than that of the other classification methods.

  • For the indoor spatial modeling by terrestrial LiDAR and the analyzing its positional accuracy result, two terrestrial LiDARs which have different specification each other were used at test site. This paper shows disparity of accuracy between (1) the structural coordinate transformation by point cloud unit using control points and (2) the relative registration among all point cloud units then structural coordinate transformation in bulk, under condition of limited number of control points. As results, the latter had smaller size and distribution of errors than the former although different specifications and acquistion methods are used.

  • In this study, a novel method is proposed for retrieving relative surface temperature from single-channel middle infra-red (MIR, 3-5 ${\mu}m$) remotely sensed data. In order to retrieve absolute temperature from MIR data, it is necessary to accommodate at least atmospheric effects, surface emissivity and reflected solar radiance. Instead of retrieving kinematic temperature of each target, we propose an alternative to retrieve the relative temperature between two targets. The core idea is to minimize atmospheric effects by assuming that the differential at-sensor radiance between two targets experiences the same atmospheric effects. To reduce effective simplify atmospheric parameters, each atmospheric parameter was examined by MODTRAN and MIR emissivity derived from ASTER spectral libraries. Simulation results provided a required accuracy of 2 K for materials with a temperature of 300 K within 0.1 emissivity errors. The algorithm was tested using MODIS band 23 MIR day time images for validation. The accuracy of retrieved relative temperature was $0.485{\pm}1.552$ K. The results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm was able to produce relative temperature with a required accuracy from only single-channel radiance data. However, this method has limitations when applied to materials having very low temperatures using day time MIR images.

  • As the availability of images from Airborne Digital Camera with high resolution is expanded, a lot of concern are in the production and update of digital map. This study presents the method of updating the digital map at the scale of 1/1,000 using images from Aerial Digital Camera. Geometric correction was completed using GPS surveying data. For digital mapping, digital photogrammetric system was utilized to digitize buildings and roads. The absolute positional accuracy was evaluated using GPS surveying data and the relative positional accuracy was evaluated using the digital map produced by analytical mapping. The absolute positional accuracy was as follows: RMSE in X and Y were ${\pm}0.172m\;and\;{\pm}0.127m$, and average distance error was 0.208m. The relative positional accuracy was as follows: RMSE in X and Y were ${\pm}0.238m\;and\;{\pm}0.281m$, and average distance error was 0.337m. Accuracies of updating digital map using images from airborne Digital Camera were within allowable error established by NGII. Consequently, images from airborne Digital Camera can be used in various fields including the production of the national basic map and the GIS of local government.

  • Although GNSS hardware and software technologies have been steadily advanced, it is still difficult to obtain reliable positioning results in the area with lots of signal blockage. In this study, algorithms for integrated GPS and GLONASS double difference relative positioning were developed and its performance was validated via simulations of signal blockages. We assumed that signal blockages are caused by high-rise buildings to the east, west, and south directions. And then, GPS-only and integrated GPS/GLONASS positioning accuracy was analysed in terms of 2-dimensional positioning accuracies. Compared with GPS-only positioning, the positioning accuracy of integrated GPS/GLONASS improved by 0.3-13.5 meters.

  • In this study, to improve the accuracy of forecast of heat demand in the district heating system, this study applied heat demand performance among the main factors of district heating demand forecast in Pankyo area as the heat sales information of the user facility instead of existing heat source facility heat supply information, and compared the existing method with the accuracy based on the actual value. As a result of comparing the difference of the forecasts values of the existing and changed methods based on the performance values over the one week (2018.01.08 ~ 01.14) during the hot water peak, the relative error decreased from 7% to 3% The relative error between the existing and revised forecasts was 9% and 4%, respectively, for the five-month cumulative heat demand from February to February 2018, Also, in case of the weekend where the demand of heat is differentiated, the relative error of the forecasts value is consistently reduced from 10% to 5%.

  • A cylindrical cam with a translation roller follower provides to transfer the translation motion and it s very useful mechanism in the automation. But. it's very difficult that the shape is defined accurately. This paper, proposes a new shape design method of the cylindrical cam with translation roller follower using the relative velocity method[l]. The relativc velocity method lculates the relative velocity of the follower versus the cam at a center of roller, and then determines a contact point by using the geometric relationships and the kinematical constraints. Finally, we present an example in order to prove the accuracy of the proposed methods.
