  • Utterance verification aims at rejecting both out-of-vocabulary (OOV) utterances and low-confidence-scored in-vocabulary (IV) utterances. For utterance verification on Korean connected digit recognition task, we investigate several methods to construct filler and anti-digit models. In particular, we propose a substitution error correction method based on 2-best decoding results. In this method, when 1st candidate is rejected, 2nd candidate is selected if it is accepted by a specific hypothesis test, instead of simply rejecting the 1st one. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional log likelihood ratio (LLR) test method.

  • The purpose of this study was to review the concept, type and factors that affect child rearing attitude of parents and suggest desirable child rearing attitude of parents. Child rearing attitude of parents not only decide the quality of parent-child relationship but also affect child intellectual, emotional, social development and character. Many theorists suggest the type of child rearing attitude of parents, Schaefer's theory is commonly accepted. This model divided into 4 types, affectional-automatic attitude, affectional-controling attitude, rejecting-automatic attitude, rejecting-controling attitude. Through this study, confirmed factors that affect child rearing attitude of parents were family social position, parent's age and educational level, child gender. And other factors were mother has a job or not, marriage satisfaction, number of child and etc. Desirable parent's child rearing attitude were parent's consistency, understanding and acceptance of parents, parent's ideal behavior, democratic attitude of parents, parent's love for their children.

  • The received signal of ICS repeater is composed of BS(Base Station) and feedback signals. In this case, if the feedback signal is not rejected, system is oscillated. we use the IF signal for rejecting the feedback signal at ICS system. In general, SAW filter is used to reject the image of If signal. the use of this filter generates the system delay problems. In this paper, instead of SAW filter we use the Hilbert transform for rejecting image signal.

  • This work describes the adaptation of extractive scintillation by URAE $X^{TM}$ with a photon-electron rejecting alpha liquid scintillation (PERAL $S^{)}$ spectrometer to the analysis of uranium in aqueous samples. The extraction efficiency of the system was evaluated under varing chemical conditions including pH, and sample-cocktail volume ratio. Isotopic information from the (PERAL $S^{)}$ spectrum of natural uranium was obtained using a curve fitting routine. Comparisons of the result with that obtained from alpha spectrometry method using ion implanted silicon detector showed good agreement.t.

  • Objectives : This study examined maternal object relations, child's and mother's perception on rearing attitude, and children's self-esteem in children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and their mothers. Methods : 64 children with ADHD and their mothers were included in the study group. In the control group, there were 85 children and their mothers. Mothers completed the following tests : Bell object relation inventory (BORI), maternal behavior research instrument (MBRI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Korean ADHD Rating Scale (K-ARS). Children completed Children's Report of Parental Behavior Inventory (CRPBI) and Rosenberg self-esteem scale. Results : Mothers of ADHD children displayed more rejecting and controlling parenting style than mothers in the control group. ADHD children showed lower self-esteem and perceived their parents as not affectionate, but rejecting and controlling. Mothers with ADHD children who belonged to object relations pathological group showed more rejecting rearing attitude and their children believed that they were more controlling, compared with children and mothers in other conditions. Among factors in mother's object relations, insecure attachment and ego-centricity impacted the rearing attitude. In turn, affective rearing attitude mainly influenced children's self-esteem. Conclusion : This study suggests that the approach focused on mother's object relations may help with the treatment of children with ADHD.

  • Constructionists believe that mathematical knowledge is obtained by a series of purely mental constructions, with all mathematical objects existing only in the mind of the mathematician. But constructivism runs the risk of rejecting the classical laws of logic, especially the principle of bivalence and L. E. M.(Law of the Excluded Middle). This philosophy of mathematics also does not take into account the external world, and when it is taken to extremes it can mean that there is no possibility of communication from one mind to another. Two constructionists, Brouwer and Dummett, are common in rejecting the L. E. M. as a basic law of logic. As indicated by Dummett, those who first realized that rejecting realism entailed rejecting classical logic were the intuitionists of the school of Brouwer. However for Dummett, the debate between realists and antirealists is in fact a debate about semantics - about how language gets its meaning. This difference of initial viewpoints between the two constructionists makes Brouwer the intuitionist and Dummettthe the semantic anti-realist. This paper is confined to show that Dummett's proposal in favor of intuitionism differs from that of Brouwer. Brouwer's intuitionism maintained that the meaning of a mathematical sentence is essentially private and incommunicable. In contrast, Dummett's semantic anti-realism argument stresses the public and communicable character of the meaning of mathematical sentences.

  • An add-on type output regulator is proposed in this paper. By an add-on controller we mean an additional controller which operates harmonically with a pre-designed one. The role of the add-on controller is to reject a sinusoidal disturbance of unknown magnitude and phase but with known frequency. Advantages of the proposed controller include that (1) it can be used only when the performance of disturbance rejection needs to be enhanced, (2) when it is turned on or off, unwanted transient can be avoided (i.e., bumpless transfer), (3) it is designed for perfect disturbance rejection not just for disturbance reduction, (4) ability for perfect rejection is preserved even with uncertain plant model. This design may be promising for optical disc drive (ODD) systems in which disc eccentricity results in a sinusoidal disturbance. For ODD systems, the sensitivity function obtained by the pre-designed controller, which may have been designed by the lead-lag, $H_{\infty}$, or DOB (disturbance observer) technique, does not change much with the add-on controller except at the frequency of the disturbance. Since the add-on controller does the job of rejecting major eccentricity disturbance, the gain of the pre-designed controller does not have to be too high.

  • A CSTR (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor) is a highly nonlinear process with varying parameters during operation. Therefore, tuning of the controller and determining the transition policy of controller parameters are required to guarantee the best performance of the CSTR for overall operating regions. In this paper, a methodology employing the 2DOF (Two-Degree-of-Freedom) PID controller, the anti-windup technique and a fuzzy gain scheduler is presented for the temperature control of the CSTR. First, both a local model and an EA (Evolutionary Algorithm) are used to tune the optimal controller parameters at each operating region by minimizing the IAE (Integral of Absolute Error). Then, a set of controller parameters are expressed as functions of the gain scheduling variable. Those functions are implemented using a set of "if-then" fuzzy rules, which is of Sugeno's form. Simulation works for reference tracking, disturbance rejecting and noise rejecting performances show the feasibility of using the proposed method.

  • The relationship between children's behavior problems and perceptions of their parents' childrearing behaviors was studied in 359 fourth graders. Children reported on perceptions of their parents' childrearing behaviors with the Childrearing Behavior Questionnaire (Park, 1995) and on their own behavior with the Korean Youth Self-Report (K-YSR; Oh, Lee, Hong, & Hah, 1997). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results showed that girls viewed their fathers and mothers as more warm/accepting and their fathers as less rejecting/restricting than boys. Boys had more externalizing (aggressive/delinquent) behavior problems than girls. Children's internalizing behavior problems were positively related to their perceptions of paternal and maternal rejection/restriction and permissive/non-interfering. The relationship was differed as a function of child's sex. Children's externalizing behavior problems were positively related to their perceptions of paternal and maternal rejection/restriction and paternal permissive/non-interfering. The relationship was differed as a function of child's sex.
