The objective of this work is to study the flexural strengthening effectiveness of Carbon Fiber Mesh (CFM) in reinforced concrete beams. Flexural strengthening for a simply supported reinforced concrete (RC) beam using CFM is developed by bonding CFM to the soffit of the beam. In this experimental program, five medium-sized reinforced concrete beams strengthened with CFM are tested in bending to evaluate reinforcing effects of the CFM. The beams are designed to have high shear capacity so that expected dominant failure mode of specimens is bending. The reinforcing effect of CFM is small at crack initiation, but is considerable in flexural rigidity of the beam after crack initiation. In comparing the behaviors of strengthened and virgin beams each other, it is shown that the strength of RC beams can be enhanced by attaching CFM. A fairly good agreement between the measured values and the calculated ones is obtained at both the cracking strength and yield strength of the strengthened beams.

It showed items of emotional experience, cognitive experiences, ative experience, relationshin experience positively affect to the festival brand loyalty. Through these results, first, we could suggest a new data for the development of the festival experience marketing for the enhancement of the festival brands in the future. Second, as the new research applying the festival and experiential marketing, we could found the experiential marketing through the intangible goods as like the festival could affect to the reinforcing of the relationship orientation. This is scientifically could suggest the basis to enlarge the scope of application. Also it could suggest industrially a lot of implications to establish the marketing strategy of the festival and reinforcing strategy of the relationship orientation.
Nanocelluloses, mainly cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNC, i.e., defect-free, rod-like crystalline residues after acid hydrolysis of fibers), have been the subject of recent interest. Due to the presence of hydroxyl groups on the surface of nanocelluloses, their surfaces are reactive, making them suitable candidates for reinforcing materials for manufacturing polymer composites. In this study, CNF was used as a reinforcing material for manufacturing cement composites. CNF was prepared by TEMPO (2,2,6,6,-tetramethyl piperidine-1-oxyl radical) oxidation procedure combined with extensive homogenization and ultrasonication. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis of the suspension showed the width of CNF between 10 and 15 nm. The compressive strength of cement composites containing 0.5% CNF was comparable to that of conventional cement composites. On the other hand, the tensile and flexural strength were improved by 49.7% and 38.8%, respectively, compared to those of conventional cement composites. Also, at an ambient condition, the degree of self-shrinkage reduction reached to 18.9% in one day, followed by 5.9% in 28 days after molding.
When a welded circular hollow section (CHS) tubular joint is subjected to brace axial loading, failure position is located usually at the weld toe on the chord surface due to the weak flexural stiffness of the thin-walled chord. The failure mode is local yielding or buckling in most cases for a tubular joint subjected to axial load at the brace end. Especially when a cyclic axial load is applied, fracture failure at the weld toe may occur because both high stress concentration and welding residual stress along the brace/chord intersection cause the material in this region to become brittle. To improve the ductility as well as to increase the static strength, a tubular joint can be reinforced by increasing the chord thickness locally near the brace/chord intersection. Both experimental investigation and finite element analysis have been carried out to study the hysteretic behaviour of the reinforced tubular joint. In the experimental study, the hysteretic performance of two full-scale circular tubular T-joints subjected to cyclic load in the axial direction of the brace was investigated. The two specimens include a reinforced specimen by increasing the wall thickness of the chord locally at the brace/chord intersection and a corresponding un-reinforced specimen. The hysteretic loops are obtained from the measured load-displacement curves. Based on the hysteretic curves, it is found that the reinforced specimen is more ductile than the un-reinforced one because no fracture failure is observed after experiencing similar loading cycles. The area enclosed by the hysteretic curves of the reinforced specimen is much bigger, which shows that more energy can be dissipated by the reinforced specimen to indicate the advantage of the reinforcing method in resisting seismic action. Additionally, finite element analysis is carried out to study the effect of the thickness and the length of the reinforced chord segment on the hysteretic behaviour of CHS tubular T-joints. The optimized reinforcing method is recommended for design purposes.

In marine environment, the durability of concrete and reinforcing steel is known to be deteriorate by the permeation of chloride ion into concrete. In this study the conductive photocatalyst was used to improve the seawater corrosion resistance of the concrete and steel. Mortar and concrete samples were prepared by mixing with various amounts of conductive active carbon and photocatalytic powder($TiO_2$). The compressive strength of concrete was decreased with the increase of the amount of conductive carbon powders. The samples containing conductive carbon and photocatalytic powders showed the superior seawater corrosion resistance compared with the ordinary sample, which was verified by XRF analysis showing the concentration of chloride ion($Cl^-$) of mortars and concretes. The inhibitive effect of photocatalyst against chloride attack was discussed with the diffusion coefficient of chloride ion into mortar and concrete.
A common site of fracture in maxillary complete denture is on the anteroposterior midline that coincides with the notch for relief of the labial frenum. Various approaches to reduce the incidence of this type of fracture have been suggested. The most widely used technique is the reinforcement of acrylic resin denture base with several solid metal forms. But few comparative studies on the efficacy of metal reinforcements have been reported. This study was conducted to compare reinforcing effects of commonly available metal reinforcements, which include wire, metal mesh embedded in the denture base and metal plate affixed to the impression surface of denture base by silicoating technique. This was load on the posterior. The strain gauges were oriented perpendicular to the anteroposterior midline of maxillary polished denture surface at one labial and the four palatal sites Non-renforced denture was used as control. The results were as follows : 1. In the non-reinforced denture group, only tensile strains on the palatal polished surface were observed. The tensile strains decreased in the order of incisive papilla, posterior denture border area, mid palatal area and rugae area. Compressive strain was observed on the labial polished surface. 2. As compared with the non-reinforced denture group, the metal plate or the metal mesh reinforced denture groups showed reduced palatal tensile strains, and the metal mesh reinforcement had a better reinforcing effect than the metal plate. But both reinforced denture groups showed no difference in the amount of compressive strain on the labial polished surface when compared to the non-reinforced denture group. 3. The metal wire positioned just above the labial notch decreased the compressive strain on the labial polished surface. But the presence of metal wires in the palatal polished surface caused increase in tensile strains in the area.
GLI model was verified to consider the interaction between a ground and a tunnel lining and to rationally reduce the ground load acting on the secondary lining(concrete lining) of a tunnel. In this study, the economy and the construction condition of tunnel concrete linings designed by a conventional frame model at Lot O of OO line were highly enhanced through a field design change using GLI model. For a few safe considerations, not only about 50% saving of reinforcing steel could reduce the material cost but also the wide space between bars could make it easy to pour concrete mix without voids. There was large saving effect of reinforcing steel for poor ground conditions because Terzaghi's load used in the conventional frame model produces too much high loads for those conditions.
The pre-treatment for conservation must be needed for the exhumed historic sites. So, the study of conservation and restoration of historical sites has progressed favorably with using various polymers for solving upper problems. The problems which should be essentially solved for conservation of the exhumed historic sites are, however, using reinforcing agents that don't impair their original forms and sorting reinforcing agents on the lines of the historic sites' soil. These agents should be able to use without the effect of outer environments like marsh, winter time or temperature. In this work, we synthesized Epoxy resin and Epoxy hardener for the restoration of historical sites. These products have very good tension strength and adhesion strength and various physical properties that the users want. Particularly, these epoxy with high viscosity have good separation of between Epoxy final product and Urethane pre-surface.

Whereas The masonry buildings are safe under gravity loads, most of the masonry buildings in Korea have many structural defects under a lateral load due to an earthquake acceleration. But there is no earthquake resistant design code for the Masonry in Korea. Therefore it may be necessary to be set up an seismic code and be suggested for reinforcing methods for existing masonry buildings. The purpose of this paper is to investigate seismic capacity of reinforced masonry buildings subjected to earthquake load. The typical two models of the masonry building in Korea are selected through a site investigation. On the basis of test results, the fiber reinforcing effect of the two models was considerable. The maximum base shear force and deformation capacity for RM were remarkably increased. It was found that the pier rocking failure was a dominant mode for the RM buildings during a seismic excitation.
The cure properties of rubber compounds containing different adhesive compositions were examined. As the amounts of tannin were increased in the adhesive composition, the scorch time was increased and cure rate was decreased due to the size and shape of tannin molecules. Also, the effect of adhesive composition on the adhesion between rubber and fiber was examined by TCAT(Tire Cord Adhesion Test), The reinforcing cords used in this study were mon ofilaments of nylon 610 and nylon 66. According to the results, the optimum adhesion strength between rubber and fiber could be obtained with adhesives whose molar ratios of formaldehyde/resorcinol were above 5/1 in the recipes. Although the level of dip pick-up(DPU) on the reinforcing cord affects the adhesion strength, the DPU of nylon 610 monofilament did not affect the adhesion strength because the level of DPU was constant regardless of the adhesive compositions. In this case, the adhesion strength with the adhesive composition could be explained with the behavior of tannin in the adhesive.
