The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of Column Jet Method(CJM) as countermeasure against settlement and slope sliding of existing marine structure due to embankment load behind reclaimed revetment. CJM is to make high-strengthened body by compacting and grouting cement mortar after forming artificial space in the ground with ground relaxition machine or high pressure water jetting. Before the ground was reinforced by CJM, the result of slope stability analysis was not satisfy the allowable safe ratio, but after the ground was reinforced by CJM, the stability of slope was over the allowable safe ratio and stable, Therefor, the application of CJM to restraint settlement and sliding of marine structure was very satisfactory.

The problem of the crack which occures from the reinforced concrete structure. could be caused by the complexed factors. When the crack happen, it caused fatal blemish to manage and maintain the structure such as structural problem, licking, spalling, viewing Even though they study and work hard to solve this kind of problem in the world, there are no countermeasure for perfect prevention of crack. After the crack checked out, a method of repair-reinforcement has been sutdied and operated actively. In this experiment, studied durability of repair material. Experiment wave and durability of epoxy and urethane's were shown good result, and micro cement's durability displayed result that is not good. Result of a repeat tired experiment displayed result that micro cement is bad.
The electric train in the first line subway runs faster in the block from Suwon to Cheonan than the general block. The faster run results in the deterioration of ride quality due to the increase of noise and vibration. To reduce the noise and vibration of the electric train, a running test of the electric train was performed in the block from Suwon to Cheonan. The experimental results show that the sources of the noise and vibration basically comes from the irregularity of the railroad track and the connection part between car body and bogie. The possible countermeasure of the high speed electric train can be the reinforcement of the center pivot to have more flexibility and the frequent maintenance of electric train.
Recenlty, there are many cases that structures are constructed on soft ground in domestic. Generally in those cases, appropriate geotechnical techniques for the ground are needed. In this study, an example for ground improvement of OO railroad station construction site is introduced and analyzed. The ground conditions of this site which is soft ground are that N value is under 6, average depth and ground water table is 24.4m, GL-1.7. So, as a countermeasure technique for bearing reinforcement, Compaction Grouting System (CGS) method was applied on construction site. To estimate the application of CGS method, piezo cone penetration test and static pile loading test were carried out during the construction. Results of analysis show that CGS method for improving the bearing capacity of soft ground is applicable for the ground well.
The groundwater during tunnel excavation not only affects the stability of the tunnel and constructability but also causes the subsidence of the upper ground due to the lowering of groundwater. Generally, the cutoff grouting is applied as a countermeasure to reduce the groundwater inflow during tunnel excavation, and the cutoff grouting is often applied in the range of plastic zone around the tunnel. However, grouting in the plastic zone is only appropriate for ground reinforcement purposes, and guidelines for the application range of cutoff grouting and the targeted permeability coefficient of the grouting zone are required. In this study, the relationship between groundwater inflow into tunnel and application range of cutoff grouting and permeability coefficient is proposed and compared with numerical analysis results. It was found that grouting with tunnel radius thickness is appropriate to reduce the groundwater inflows effectively. More than 90% reduction in groundwater inflow can be achieved when the annular area of the tunnel radius thickness is grouted with a permeability reduction ratio of 1/50~1/200.
By the countermeasure which is caused by with railroad station ground settlement it applied a CGS in each independent foundation. The effectiveness of the ground improvement and the bearing capacity of the compaction pile has been verified by the Cone Penetration Test(CPT) and Load Test. Test result show that penetration resistance and the cone friction force increased a lot and settlement 13.475mm as the standard settlement 40.0mm appeared at below. Also uniaxial compression test result $278kg/cm^2$ as the standard $150kg/cm^2$ appeared far a lot.
The purpose of this study is to present emergency rehabilitation, cause and the countermeasure of reinforcement about reinforced retaining wall and the slope collapse of the phyllite ground. The study area is broken easily because this area has rock mass discontinuity such as stratification, foliation, joint and fold. And this area consists of the ground where it happens easily to the failure of structure like reinforced retaining wall because of the phyllite ground sensitive to weathering. Counterweight fill in front of reinforced retaining wall was performed as emergency rehabilitation about displacement of reinforced retaining wall and the failure at the rear of slope on phyllite ground. After that, additional displacement didn't occur. Boring and geophysical exploration were launched to present emergency rehabilitation and develop the long-term method of reinforcement. This could grasp anticipated range of the failure section and identify internal and external factors of the cause of the slope collapse. Several methods of reinforcement were suggested by conducting the numerical analysis. When conducting design and construction of major structures at the ground which has complex discontinuities, the precise site investigation should be conducted. During construction, immediate action for over-displacement should be taken by performing the periodic measurement.
This paper presents a field study of the stability of slope collapsed during road construction and proposes a reasonable countermeasure if the current slope is unstable. As a result of slope investigation, it was found that the slope includes five tension cracks and the sliding surface is started from the tension crack and propagated the surface soil layer through weathered rock layer. The slope stability analyses are conducted in case of dry and rainfall seasons. The results indicate that the slope is unstable status. A reinforcement method of slope failure should be selected according to the scale of failure. That is, the scale of slope failure, which is classified small, middle and large size determines the reinforcement method of slope. Since the slope interested in this study is large size failure slope, the reinforcement method to control slope failure is selected stabilizing piles, and seed spray and drainage of surface waterare also selected to remain the factor of safety. The SLOPILE (Ver. 3.0) program is applied in order to do stability analysis of slope reinforced by piles. As the result of analysis, the slope reinforced by a row of piles shows the stable state. It is clearly confirmed that the stabilizing of piles can improve the stability of slope.
Domestic industries are facing the open era as a result of signing the Korea-U.S. FTA with no exception to the financial industry. The FFA between two countries is expected to produce pros and cons for domestic financial industry. Therefore, it is very important to minimize the shock caused by opening our financial market and to adopt the advanced financial tools actively. Signing the Korea-U.S. FTA and enforcing the Integration Law of Capital Market are leading a big crisis to the Savings Banks which have been shrinking under the dramatically changing domestic financial environment since the financial crisis. To cope with financial globalization, Korean Savings Banks are demanded to build up their concrete identity and reposition their status. This is related to shaping the long-term position of domestic financial industry. Therefore, the Savings Banks must take the growth strategy for their survival, and it is an inescapable choice. Several options are available: big scale operation and diversification of business functions, reinforcement of local-focused mediating function of funds, establishment of strategic alliance with other financial firms, reinforcement of risk management system and core competence, nourishment and employment of professional manpower, and active deregulation and policy support. When the Savings Banks are refurbished as an independent local bank performing the central role of local finance, the bright future can be their destiny under the enormously changing global financial environment. Also, two more conditions need to be satisfied: to establish horizontal networks among local banks directed by cooperative Korea Federation of Savings Banks to reverse the weak scale position, and to satisfy their own peculiar niche market with internal countermeasure to face global financial networks.
Liquefaction leads to severe damage to earth structures after an earthquake. In this study, shaking table tests were performed on model waterfront structures as a countermeasure against liquefaction. The waterfront structure was reinforced by a compacted Bone, which was investigated for its effectiveness in protecting the structure from excessive deformation induced by the lateral pressure of liquefied ground. Through the tests . on embankment, double sheet pile wall, and anchor sheet pile wall, good quantitative information on the behavior of flow failure and the extent of reinforcement was obtained. The extent of a compacted zone for the protection of the structure depends on the magnitude of the acceleration during the shaking. The measured deformation was represented in terms of the extent of the compacted zone and the magnitude of the input acceleration.
