The purpose of this study is to present the direction for effective public environment design by becoming aware of the social, cultural and historical values that are inherent to the specific regions once again. Concept of regions' sense of identity, regions' resources and regionality were identified as a means based on the basic cityscape plan and guideline for public design. Sample city was analyzed by extracting the regionality elements, and the results are as follows. First, appropriateness of the direction for the public environment design based on the regional identity was confirmed. The need to establish regional identity in the cityscape plan is specified when it comes to the basic goal, strategy and direction. Second, public environment design should be planned within the context of the cityscape. It is necessary to improve with integrated plan by setting up the consistent goal, direction and detailed guideline based on the basic concept of cityscape plan. Third, 'design city' requires the development of the unique design and planned techniques based on the harmony with the existing resources. It is necessary to uncover the powerful design elements that are exclusive to specific regions, and to search for differentiation and visualization to form consensus. Public environment based on regional identity will improve if the above mentioned research results are used as the basic data when it comes to the implementation of public environment design.

Natural disasters often lead to regional failures that can cause network nodes and links co-located in a large geographical area to fail. Novel approaches are required to assess the network vulnerability under such regional failures. In this paper, we investigate the vulnerability of networks by considering the geometric properties of regional failures and network nodes. To evaluate the criticality of node locations and determine the critical areas in a network, we propose the concept of ${\alpha}$-critical-distance with a given failure impact ratio ${\alpha}$, and we formulate two optimization problems based on the concept. By analyzing the geometric properties of the problems, we show that although finding critical nodes or links in a pure graph is a NP-complete problem, the problem of finding critical areas has polynomial time complexity. We propose two algorithms to deal with these problems and analyze their time complexities. Using real city-level Internet topology data, we conducted experiments to compute the ${\alpha}$-critical-distances for different networks. The computational results demonstrate the differences in vulnerability of different networks. The results also indicate that the critical area of a network can be estimated by limiting failure centers on the locations of network nodes. Additionally, we find that with the same impact ratio ${\alpha}$, the topologies examined have larger ${\alpha}$-critical-distances when the network performance is measured using the giant component size instead of the other two metrics. Similar results are obtained when the network performance is measured using the average two terminal reliability and the network efficiency, although computation of the former entails less time complexity than that of the latter.

This study aimed to find problems of nightscape of Anyang-si through examination of behavioral pattern at night and measurement of illumination and luminance in accordance with regional classification following 6 regional classifications on the basis of ur1xm characteristic of Anyang-si. Basic concept of nightscape creation was application of improvement plan with analysis of regional problems and creation of artistic value to enhance image of Anyang-si as a city of art. To obtain balance and unity of night illumination, concept of light zoning was applied to smooth-transform method by regions. Especially, right to view harmonized with surrounding scenery was secured through creating gradual skyline compatible with neighbor buildings using division of each buildings according to their heights. In addition, way to improvement of night lighting environment was proposed as to illumination, height, type of lamp and arrangement of street lights and furniture in accordance with regional characteristics.

As creative city is increasingly considered as a paradigm of urban development, it was explored that some of major concepts consisting of creative city such as creativity, creative class and creative industry have an implication. Those concepts reveal a diverse meaning rather than universal one in the application depending on regions and countries across the world. This study tried to grasp the meaning of creative city in the northern region of Gyeongbook where the concept itself was not apparently distinctive. The result is that the inherent meaning of creative city was expanded to culture and athletic fields, though it was originated from taking advantage of nature, agricultural products in the region, and cultural and historical based tourism. On the other hand, the role of regional authority was examined to explore how the concept of creative city is realized in practice. There are some differences among the local authorities in the aspect of leadership. network system within the region, and social network with outside.

Extreme tropospheric anomalies such as typhoons or regional torrential rain can degrade positioning accuracy of the GPS signal. It becomes one of the main error terms affecting high-precision positioning solutions in network RTK. This paper proposed a detection algorithm to be used during atmospheric anomalies in order to detect the tropospheric irregularities that can degrade the quality of correction data due to network errors caused by inhomogeneous atmospheric conditions between multi-reference stations. It uses an atmospheric grid that consists of four meteorological stations and estimates the troposphere zenith total delay difference at a low performance point in an atmospheric grid. AWS (automatic weather station) meteorological data can be applied to the proposed tropospheric anomaly detection algorithm when there are different atmospheric conditions between the stations. The concept of probability density distribution of the delta troposphere slant delay was proposed for the threshold determination.

It was the purpose of this study that propose architectural design process through analysis of concepts considering regional characteristics. The procedure of this study was as follows : First, classifying design process through investigating paper-survey and case studies. And We would investigate representation process of design concepts applied to design competitions entries. Finally, we would investigate design process applied to buildings in various districts. In the results, we could find that domestic architects were applying to site plan, floor plan, elevation plan, section plan and mass plan-led design process to express design concepts. And according to survey on buildings in various districts, we could verify that architects were applying various design process to express design concepts according to site characteristics. These results could help architects to design appropriately, according to site characteristics.

The study aims at looking, into conceptual transfer of environment between Minimal Art and Minimalism architecture and analysing architectural expressional characteristics which could visually show pro-environmental expression from concept of environment-orientation in the architecture in regional minimalism. This study issued the survey of Minimalism architecture as newly architectural trend since Late-Modernism, and pro-environment as important paradigm in the near future. In this analyses, the characteristics of pro-environmental expression can be classified as follow ; a the brightness and darkness of light, b. the perspective view of simplified wall, c. the visualization of environmental characteristics, d. the transparency and reflectiveness of glass, e. the all direction of cube, f. the visual division of architecture. These show that symbolized variety implying expression variety and implying Oriental view of nature were expressed as unique language of regional Minimalism architecture, by visual simplicity as characteristics of Minimalism and Occidental Modernism as motive of Minimalism.

Science and Technology Park (STP) is perceived to be a vehicle in promoting innovation-based economic growth within the framework of regional and national innovation systems. STP is a tool to encourage regional innovation and competitiveness in increasing contribution of science and technology in economic development. STP can also be a leading sector in creating conducive environment for local community's technopreneurship. In relation to the vision outlined in the 2025 Indonesian Master Plan of Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia's Economic (MP3EI), STP is stated to be an important element in creating innovation within the framework of Special Economic Zone among six Economic Corridors. Hence, the government of Indonesia continues to encourage the development of STPs in Indonesia by involving local governments, universities, business players and stakeholders surround the area. Ultimately, STP is a platform in developing National Innovation System (NIS) and Regional Innovation System (RIS).

We proposed intriguing and simple technique for fabricating flexible plastic liquid crystal (LC) devices. We made a preliminary version of a flexible LC display employing this concept, and we confirmed this technique was useful for the flexible LC display; the electro-optical reproducibility of the flexible LC device fabricated here was remarkably improved against external perturbation compared with the conventional one.
