  • Sheath circulating current is increased as the change of sheath mutual impedance which is caused by imbalance of cable system, and different section length between joint box. If excessive current flows in sheath. sheath loss will be increased and then transmission capacity of underground transmission system is reduced. Accordingly, This paper proposed sheath current reduction device using resistor and reactor and proved the reduction effect of that device using EMTP/ATP. And also in this paper, when transients are occurred at the underground system with reduction device by ground fault and lightning surge. we analyzes transient effect of system variously. From this result. authors establish the protection methods of sheath circulating current reduction device.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a noise reduction device installed at the top of noise barrier for further decreasing of noise level of 400 km/h class high-speed railroad. For this, the frequency spectrum of 400 km/h class high-speed railroad was analyzed through the field noise test, and the tuning frequency was determined to design a noise reduction device. The noise reduction device was designed to have noise reduction performance of at least 3 dB(A) using the prediction method(2D BEM) and through the laboratory test with the prototype. Finally, the outdoor test showed that this device could decrease noise level of 400 km/h class high-speed railroad even more than 3 dB(A).

  • Noise barrier is generally used with welding of joint rail for railway noise reduction in our country. But the noise barrier for high speed railway has weak point in low frequencies about 315Hz band. In this study, For developing of Interference-type Noise Reduction Device(INRD), acoustic analysis were performed using commercial software. For verifying the improvement in the noise reduction, noise measurement before and after installing of INRD were performed in Anechoic Chamber. From these acoustic analysis and noise measurement, it was known that developed INRD has a good noise reduction performance and can be used efficiently with conventional noise barrier.

Impedance Calculation of an Underground Transmission Cable System Installed with a Sheath Current Reduction Device

  • Previous research results indicated that the designed current reduction device could effectively reduce the sheath circulating current and that its RDP protection device could shield it against both fault and lightning strokes. In this paper, cable impedance is analyzed using wavelet analysis and distance relay algorithm following the installation of these devices so that the operation of distance relay can be estimated. The test results confirm that in these devices, the fault inception angle and SVL bonding types have no impact on the change of cable impedance. In other words, the conventional distance relay can be used without a new relay setting. Thus we can finally assert that the designed current reduction device and its protection device are effective and can be safely installed on the cable transmission system without disturbance.

  • Particulate infectious sources, including infectious viruses, can float in the air, causing airborne infections. To prevent indoor airborne infection, dilution control by ventilation and indoor air cleaners are frequently used. In this study, the risk of airborne infection by the operation of these two techniques was evaluated. In case of dilution control by ventilation, a high efficiency air filter was embedded at the inlet of supply air. In this study, infectious source reduction devices such as indoor air cleaner include all kinds of mechanical-filters, UV-photo catalysts and air ionizers through which air flow is forced by fans. Two mathematical models for influenza virus were applied in an infant care room where infants and young children are active, and the risk reduction efficiency was compared. As a result, in the case of individually operating the ventilator or the infectious source reduction device, the airborne infection risk reduction efficiencies were 55.2~61.2% and 53.8~59.9%, respectively. When both facilities were operated, it was found that the risk of airborne infection was reduced about 72.2~76.8%. Therefore, simultaneous operation of ventilation equipment and infectious source reduction device is the most effective method for safe environment that minimizes the risk of airborne infection of respiratory infectious diseases. In the case of a space where sufficient ventilation operation is difficult, it was found that the operation of an infectious source reduction device is important to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. This study is meaningful in that it provides an academic basis for strategies for preventing airborne infection of respiratory infectious diseases.

수동제어 장치를 이용한 3 차원 자동차 모형의 항력감소 (Drag Reduction of a Three-Dimensional Car Model Using Passive Control Device)

  • In this study, a passive control using a boat-tail device is conducted for a three-dimensional car model in ground proximity. We consider various boat-tails and investigate the mechanism of drag reduction by them. By varying the length and slant angle of boat-tail, we obtain drag reductions up to 40%. From the oil-surface flow visualization and hot-wire measurement, the drag reduction by the boat-tail is characterized by the shear-layer instability and reattachment on the boat-tail, forming a small separation bubble at the upstream part of boat-tail surface, resulting in the delay of main separation and drag reduction. At high slant angles, the flow fully separates and drag is nearly same as that of no control.

  • 본 논문에서는 선박용 디젤엔진의 미세먼지저감 장치에 장착된 다공판 및 믹서의 형상과 배치에 따른 압력강하와 유동균일도 특성에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 미세먼지저감 장치에 장착된 다공판 및 믹서는 미세먼지저감 장치 내의 배출가스 및 산화/환원제의 유동균일도를 높여 배출가스 저감 성능을 높이는 긍정적인 효과와 함께 시스템의 배압을 상승시키는 부정적인 효과도 동시에 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 5개의 다공판, 1개의 믹서를 Case 별로 조합하여 6개의 사양에 대해서 유동해석을 통해 각각 유동균일도 및 압력 강하를 계산하였으며, 최적의 다공판 및 믹서의 형상과 배치를 선정하였다.

  • This paper analyses the operation characteristic of distance relay when the single line to ground occurs in underground power cable systems that reduction device of sheath circulating current is installed. To apply that reduction device to actual system, the change of line impedance calculated at relay point is also analysed by the connection type of SVLs and fault location, fault inception angle with the installation of reduction device of reactor or not.

  • This paper deals with noise reduction on a light source driving board in a projector. We analyze causes of noise/vibration in the circuit with the present increasing use of LD and LED driving boards. The main source of noise is the MLCC in the driving board. Our aim is to investigate how the mechanical arrangement of the circuit elements affects noise reduction. The result of our experiment shows that noise can be reduced by symmetrical arrangement and slots in PCB. This result is expected to facilitate a variety of applications for manufactures without a need to change circuit elements.
