An Analysis of the Vulnerability of SSL/TLS for Secure Web Services (안전한 웹 서비스를 위한 SSL/TLS 프로토콜 취약성 분석)

  • The Secure Sockets Layer is a protocol for encryption TCP/IP traffic that provides confidentiality, authentication and data integrity. Also the SSL is intended to provide the widely applicable connection-oriented mechanism which is applicable for various application-layer, for Internet client/server communication security. SSL, designed by Netscape is supported by all clients' browsers and server supporting security services. Now the version of SSL is 3.0. The first official TLS vl.0 specification was released by IETF Transport Layer Security working group in January 1999. As the version of SSL has had upgraded, a lot of vulnerabilities were revealed. SSL and TLS generate the private key with parameters exchange method in handshake protocol, a lot of attacks may be caused on this exchange mechanism, also the same thing may be come about in record protocol. In this paper, we analyze SSL protocol, compare the difference between TLS and SSL protocol, and suggest what developers should pay attention to implementation.

A Study on Non Destructive Evaluation of the Steam Turbine L-0 Blades

  • The Nuclear and Fossil Steam Turbines record a considerable number of failures annually. Some of these failures reported are as result of blade failure. The failure of the L-0 blade in a Steam Turbine is one of the most reported blade failure in Nuclear and Fossil steam turbines. This paper seeks to identify the best Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) method or methods to be used in the steam turbine L-0 blades inspection process. The development of systems engineering processes presents an opportunity to apply NDE inspection to the L-0 blades. This process apply computer modelling of the L-0 using ANSYS and by simulating the stresses experienced by the L-0 blade during operation it is possible to identify the most susceptible areas for crack formation and growth. The results from these models compared to industry data for validation. The analysis of these results used to predict the most probable failure location and failure modes. Therefore NDE inspection can be applied to these areas with greater degree of accuracy. This would be beneficial in the increasing the accuracy in the detection of cracks and hence save inspection time and the overall inspection cost. Furthermore, not only the location for crack formation and NDE inspection determined but also best the NDE inspection technique/techniques to be applied appropriately on the L-0 blade are prescribed.

Considerations for the Migration of Electronic Medical Records to Cloud Based Storage (전자의무기록의 클라우드 기반 저장소 이동시 고려사항)

  • As cloud computing becomes more and more popular and ubiquitous, many organizations are deciding to move their whole information infrastructure to the cloud. The healthcare industry is one of those that is beginning to utilize cloud-based solutions en masse. Cloud based computing and storage offers numerous benefits including scalability, cost efficiency, and accessibility, which in turn have the potential to streamline hospital operations. Despite the potential benefits of acquiring this system, considerations must still be given to the migration of the massive amounts of personal and highly protected data to a cloud-based solution. Health care organizations must consider all matters of security, reliability, and availability, to ensure that patients' data remains compliant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. This paper will examine the benefits and challenges of such operation to determine the best practices for the utilization of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) cloud based networking and storage for small to mid-sized hospitals.

  • Runway and taxiway is base facilities for aircraft take off and landing and runway capacity is one of major factor for airport capacity. Runway occupancy time is affect on the runway capacity. The identification of aircraft using taxiway by analysis of airport ground surveillance data and the measurement of pass time on the points is general method for the confirmation of the runway occupancy time. This study is runway occupancy time analysis of landing airplane using ADS-B message, in this study we surveyed landing aircraft runway occupancy time and analysis of serviced record using taxiway include rapid exit taxiway. The result of analysis is to confirm the different of landing direction and aircraft category on the same runway caused by structure of airport. Also the result of runway occupancy time analyzed data, it is base input data for the air transportation simulation.

A Study on the agreement of Principal Diagnosis (주상병 일치도에 관한 연구 -1개 중소병원을 중심으로-)

  • Background : The principal diagnosis has been used in many different fields such as hospital statistics, medical research, insurance claim, national health statistics and so on. Some principal diagnoses have a relatively low level of reliability in the medium-sized hospitals. The purpose of this study is to identify the reliability level of principal diagnoses and to suggest ways to improve reliability of the principal diagnosis. Method : Data were collected from a medium-sized hospital located in Pusan. The discharge summaries on 323 patients who were discharged in January, 2008 and the outpatient summaries on 251 patients who visited the hospital on March 28, 2008 were collected, and descriptive analysis was performed using SPSS version 12.0K. Result : The findings are the followings: (1) the diagnostic consistency rate between medical records and doctors' was 92.0%; (2) the diagnostic consistency rate between medical records and insurance claims was 86.1%; (3) the diagnostic consistency rate between doctors' diagnoses and insurance claims was 80.2%. The evidence seems to indicate that some principal diagnoses have reliability problems in the medium-sized hospitals. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest the followings: (1) employees should be trained and supervision of hospital activities are needed; (2) network systems should be constructed for each department; (3) professions need to be fostered (4) doctors' awareness of medical records should be changed.

Fault-Causing Process and Equipment Analysis of PCB Manufacturing Lines Using Data Mining Techniques (데이터마이닝 기법을 이용한 PCB 제조라인의 불량 혐의 공정 및 설비 분석)

  • In the PCB(Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing industry, the yield is an important management factor because it affects the product cost and quality significantly. In real situation, it is very hard to ensure a high yield in a manufacturing shop because products called chips are made through hundreds of nano-scale manufacturing processes. Therefore, in order to improve the yield, it is necessary to analyze main fault process and equipment that cause low PCB yield. This paper proposes a systematic approach to discover fault-causing processes and equipment by using a logistic regression and a stepwise variable selection procedure. We tested our approach with lot trace records of real work-site. A lot trace record consists of the equipment sequence that the lot passed through and the number of faults for each fault type in the lot. We demonstrated that the test results reflected the real situation of a PCB manufacturing line.

Development of a Banner Advertisement System based on Geographic Information (지리정보 기반의 배너광고 시스템 개발)

  • Lots of applications that represent and utilize geographic information on the Web have emerged on the Web. In addition, personal electronic devices equipped with GPS function, which can record personal location information in real time, are being increasingly adopted by people. Such geographic information enables Internet business companies to provide users more useful services based on the location information. Most successful Internet business companies have adopted and utilized Web 2.0 technologies, which promote users' participation and emphasize openness and information sharing. Especially, using open APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) can reduce the costs of a program development. In this study, we design and develop a banner advertisement system based on geographic information using open APIs. We propose a business model using the advertisement system, and a prototype system has been illustrated in order to explain the proposed business model. Finally, we summarize the benefits of our system by describing factors generating values of the proposed business model. Hopefully, main ideas proposed in this paper can be applied to real industry sectors that use geographic information widely such as travel, real estate and so on.

Improving Accuracy and Completeness in the Collaborative Staging System for Stomach Cancer in South Korea

  • Background: Cancer staging enables planning for the best treatments, evaluation of prognosis, and predictions for survival. The Collaborative Stage (CS) system makes it possible to significantly reduce the proportion of patients labeled at an "unknown" stage as well as discrepancies among different staging systems. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the accuracy and validity of CS data. Materials and Methods: Data were randomly selected (233 cases) from stomach cancer cases enrolled for CS survey at the Korea Central Cancer Registry. Two questionnaires were used to assess CS values for each case and to review the cancer registration environment for each hospital. Data were analyzed in terms of the relationships between the time spent for acquisition and registration of CS information, environments relating to cancer registration in the hospitals, and document sources of CS information for each item. Results: The time for extracting and registering data was found to be shorter when the hospitals had prior experience gained from participating in a CS pilot study and when they were equipped with full-time cancer registrars. Evaluation of the CS information according to medical record sources found that the percentage of items missing for Site Specific Factor (SSF) was 30% higher than for other CS variables. Errors in CS coding were found in variables such as "CS Extension," "CS Lymph Nodes," "CS Metastasis at Diagnosis," and "SSF25 Involvement of Cardia and Distance from Esophagogastric Junction (EGJ)." Conclusions: To build CS system data that are reliable for cancer registration and clinical research, the following components are required: 1) training programs for medical records administrators; 2) supporting materials to promote active participation; and 3) format development to improve registration validity.

A Study on Botanical Resources in Sejong-Jirhiji (세종 지리지의 자원식물고)

  • Sejong-Jirhiji, completed in 1454, has records on Anthropologic and NaturalGeography, Economy, Military affairs and Indusry, especially in the side of Industry, resources plant is included. It has much more species, which are almost wild and only a few cultivated, tham in the Moden book of Geography. The total species of resources plant recorded in 8 provinces are 1277, but by the system of classifcation they are 104 families and 267 species. It is almost same record as in Hyang- Yak Chip Seong Bang published in 1433, in which the total species are 103 families, 281 species. We can see the voluntary will to avoid chinese chemical, expensive and difficult to get, and to exploit our own in this book. Among these, Cullen coryliforia included in Leguminosae, Styrax benzoin included in Styraceae and Ocimum sanctum included in Labiatae are plants of trophic or subtropic. We don't know through which passage do they come. The different names on a same species give a difficult problem in understanding the traditional book. Today resources plant's spread recorded in Sejong-Jirhiji gives a referential help, and Korean botany is based on it.

Comparison of Appropriate Piperacillin/Tazobactam Doses in Korean Obese Patients with Cancer Based on Different Body Size Descriptor Equations in a Tertiary Care Hospital (국내 3차 병원의 비만 암환자에서 각각 다른 체중 측정 공식들을 적용한 piperacillin/tazobactam의 용량 적절성 비교 연구)

  • Background: Piperacillin/tazobactam (TZP) is an antibiotic against a broad spectrum of gram-positive, gram-negative, and aerobic and anaerobic strains of bacteria. Due to changes in its pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic parameters by TZP-treated patients' renal functions and obesity, it is important to administrate and monitor TZP based on their renal functions and Body Mass Index (BMI) levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriateness of administration doses of TZP based on renal functions of obese cancer patients in a tertiary hospital. Methods: This study was retrospectively conducted with obese cancer patients with $BMI{\geq}30kg/m^2$ in a tertiary hospital, Korea from September 2004 to August 2014. Data were collected through Electronic Medical Record (EMR) which contained laboratory data and TZP dosing of each patient. Results: Among 7,058 patients during the study period, 102 prescriptions were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and classified by their renal functions. Although TZP should be used based on patients' renal functions to adjust its dose, its initial dose and dosing interval were consistently used without considering patients' renal functions on a regular basis. Especially, in the comparison with FDA dosing standard of TZP, approximately twice patients with $20mL/min{\leq}CrCl{\leq}40mL/min$ received domestically 4.5 g instead of 2.25 g as the TZP starting dose. Conclusion: The appropriate doses of TZP were administered to almost all of obese cancer patients; however, the recommended TZP dose was different between Korea and other countries by twice the amount. Further related studies are necessary to clearly determine the results, to optimize TZP treatment for obese patients with cancer in clinical practice, and to design and develop new TZP formulations for them in pharmaceutical industry.
