변단면 전조 가공 철근이음 연결방법의 성능 평가 (Mechanical Performance Evaluation of Rolling Thread Steel Rebar Connection with Taper type Coupler)

  • 콘크리트 구조물에서는 인장응력에 대한 저항과 콘크리트내의 하중전달을 위한 철근이음이 고려되어야 한다. 현재 사용되고 있는 철근의 이음방법으로는 전통적으로 사용되는 겹침이음과 함께 채움금속이음을 갖는 슬리브이음과 전조 평행나사 이음과 같은 기계적 철근연결방법 등이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 기존에 사용되고 있는 기계적 철근 이음의 시공성과 구조적 성능을 개선하기 위하여 전조 변단면 철근이음을 제안하고 이를 적용한 철근의 구조성능과 파괴거동을 평가하기 위하여 철근연결 종류 및 체결 특성을 고려한 인장강도 실험과 휨하중 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통하여 제안된 전조 변단면 이음을 적용한 철근의 인장강도 및 휨성능을 비교 평가하였다. 본 연구결과 전조변단면 이음을 적용한 철근이 이음이 없는 철근과 비교하여 동일한 구조성능을 가지는 것으로 나타나 철근콘크리트 구조물의 철근 이음을 위하여 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • In the connection of green frame, the bottom rebar of the precast concrete beam needs joint or anchorage to ensure structural integrity. However, given the characteristics of composite precast concrete joint, enough length over which rebar can be anchored or lap-spliced is not secured. In addition, due to issues with constructability, cost or quality, it is difficult to apply welding or mechanical connection techniques. Therefore, this study analyze the requirement for a bolt-type rebar coupler as a solution for the coupling issue between the lower rebars of green frame beam. The requirement for bolt-type rebar coupler proposed herein will provide basic data for development studies of the rebar coupler.

  • This paper describes the design methodology, manufacturing process, rebar tensile and bending properties. Braidtrusion is a direct Composite fabrication technique utilizing an in-line braiding and pultrusion process. The produced Composite rebar exhibits ductile stress-strain behavior similar to that of conventional steel bar. Various rebar diameters ranging from modeling scale(3m) to full-scale prototype of 9.5mm have been produced Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics(GFRP) rebar were successfully fabricated at $\phi$8.5mm and $\phi$9.5mm nominal diameters of soild and hollow type using a braidtrusion process. Tensile and bending specimens were tested and compared with behavior of stress-strain of GFRP rebar and steel bar.

BIM 모델 활용을 통한 초기설계단계에서의 효율적인 철근물량 산출 방안 연구 (A Study on the Effective Calculation of Rebar QTO in the Early Design Phase through the Application of BIM Model)

  • In this study, rebar QTO(Quantity Take-Off) was quickly produced from the BIM model prepared by Revit in the early design phase, and the available premium rates were quantitatively presented. For this purpose, the amount of rebar calculated using the BuilderHub, which specializes in calculating rebar QTO, was analyzed according to various factors such as member type, rebar diameter, building size, item type, and order length, and the effect of each factor on the rebar QTO was determined. In addition, the BIM model generated on Revit was used to establish parameters and processes required to produce rebar QTO, and proposed a rebar premium rate and a stirrup/hoop premium rate based on the BuilderHub output results. Through this study, it is expected that a rapid and efficient comparative evaluation of rebar QTO will be possible according to various structural design alternatives in the early design phase.

  • The corrosion of steel rebars has been the major cause of the reinforced concrete deterioration. It is FRP rebar that is developed to solve problem of such steel rebar. FRP rebar in concrete structures should be used as a substitute of steel rebars for that cases in which aggressive environment produce high steel corrosion, or lightweight is an important design factor, or transportation cost increase significantly with the weight of the materials. But FRP rebar have only linearly elastic behavior; whereas, steel rebar has linear elastic behavior up to the yield point followed by large plastic deformation and strain hardening. Thus, the current FRP rebars are not suitable concrete reinforcement where a large amount of plastic deformation prior to collapse in required. The main objective of this study was to develop new type of hybrid FRP rebar. The manufacture of the hybrid FRP rebar was achieved pultrusion, braiding and filament winding techniques. Tensile and interlaminar shear test results of hybrid FRP rebar can provide its excellent tensile strength-strain behavior and interlaminar stress-strain behavior.

  • Over the last decade fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement consisting of glass, carbon, or aramid fibers embedded in a resin such as vinyl ester, epoxy, or polyester has emerged as one of the most promising and affordable solutions to the corrosion problems of steel reinforcement in structural concrete. But reinforcing rebar for concrete made of FRP rebar has linear elastic behavior up to tensile failure. For safety a certain plastic strain and an elongation greater than 3% at maximum load is usually required for steel reinforcement in concrete structures. The same should be required for FRP rebar. Thus, the main object of this study was to develop new type of hybrid FRP rebar Also, this study was evaluated to the mechanical properties of Hybrid FRP rebar. The Manufacture of the hybrid FRP rebar was achieved by pultrusion, and braiding and filament winding techniques. Tensile and interlaminar shear test results of Hybrid FRP rebar can provide its excellent tensile strength-strain behavior and interlaminar stress-strain behavior.

  • 본 연구에서는 인발시험에 따른 실험적 분석을 통해 고온상태의 콘크리트에서 리브 형태의 GFRP rebar의 부착거동을 분석하였다. 콘크리트에 부착된 리브 형태의 GFRP rebar의 인발실험을 통해 부착 응력에 따른 정확한 인발 곡선 결과를 도출하였으며, 이를 위해 콘크리트 표면 주위를 물고 떨어지는 뽑힘 파괴를 유도하였다. 본 연구는 온도 영향에 따른 부착응력을 분석하였다. 실험실 온도에 따른 부착응력 시험 결과 비교적 높은 부착강도를 보였으나 콘크리트 내부 온도가 증가함에 따라 부착응력은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In this study focuses on bond properties of hybrid FRP rebar after chemical environmental exposure. Hybrid FRP rebar bond specimens were subjected to four type of exposure conditions. Bond properties were investigated by direct bond test. Bond test results, hybrid FRP rebars were found to have better bond strength with concrete than currently using GFRP rebar. Also, hybrid FRP rebar had more than about $80\%$ in bond strength of steel rebar.

Corrosion of Steel Rebar in Concrete: A Review

  • Rebar is embedded in concrete to create reinforced concrete (RC). Rebar carries most of the tensile stress and gives compressively loaded concrete fracture resistance. However, embedded steel corrosion is a significant cause of concern for RC composite structures worldwide. It is one of the biggest threats to concrete structures' longevity. Due to environmental factors, concrete decays and reinforced concrete buildings fail. The type and surface arrangement of the rebar, the cement used in the mortar, the dosing frequency of the concrete, its penetrability, gaps and cracks, humidity, and, most importantly, pollutants and aggressive species all affect rebar corrosion. Either carbonation or chlorides typically cause steel corrosion in concrete. Carbonation occurs when carbon dioxide in the atmosphere combines with calcium within the concrete. This indicates that the pH of the medium is falling, and the steel rebar is corroding. When chlorides pass through concrete to steel, corrosion rates skyrocket. Consideration must be given to concrete moisture. Owing to its excellent resistance, dry concrete has a low steel corrosion rate, whereas extremely wet concrete has a low rate owing to delayed O2 transfer to steel surfaces. This paper examines rebar corrosion causes and mechanisms and describes corrosion evaluation and mitigation methods.

  • In the field of construction, research on smart construction technology is being actively pursued as a measure to increase productivity and efficiency. The technology that links 3D scanning and BIM of smart construction technology is in the limelight as a technology for checking the state of buildings in the field of architecture. It is thought that these techniques will be of great help in solving problems when the amount of inspection targets is large, such as confirmation of the rebar arrangement intervals, and therefore a large number of human resources are required. Therefore, in this study, we would like to apply 3D scanning to rebar construction to confirm whether the rebar arrangement can be confirmed according to the design drawing. In the study, the wall rebar of the rebar placed at the actual construction site was directly scanned to extract data, and the rebar placing status was confirmed through type analysis. As a result of analyzing the reinforcing bar arrangement state based on the data obtained by 3D scanning, it was found that the technology can be utilized.
