An intelligent robot should decide its behavior accordingly to the dynamic changes in the environment and user's requirements by evaluating options to choose the best one for the current situation. Many intelligent robot systems that use the Procedural Reasoning System (PRS) accomplishes such task management functions by defining the priority functions in the task model and evaluating the priority functions of the applicable tasks in the current situation. The priority functions, however, are defined locally inside of the plan, which exhibits limitation for the tasks for multi-domain services because global contexts for overall prioritization are hard to be expressed in the local priority functions. Furthermore, since the prioritization functions are not defined as an explicit module, reuse or extension of the them for general context is limited. In order to remove such limitations, we propose a policy-based meta-planning for general task management for multi-domain services, which provides the ability to explicitly define the utility of a task in the meta-planning process and thus the ability to evaluate task priorities for general context combining the modular priority functions. The ontological specification of the model also enhances the scalability of the policy model. In the experiments, adaptive behavior of a robot according to the policy model are confirmed by observing the appropriate tasks are selected in dynamic service environments.

The purpose of this study was to develop a school violence prevention program featuring the Practical Action Teaching Model(hereafter, PATM) for middle school students to prevent school violence by Home Economics Education. To accomplish this purpose, the processes of analysis, design, development, and evaluation based on ADDIE were conducted. The validity of the program was evaluated twice by Home Economics education experts(36 experts for the first group and 10 experts for the second group) and the contents of the program were modified according to the comments from the evaluators. The school violence prevention program in Home Economics classes consisted of 5 topics such as changing perception on school violence, enhancing self-esteem, relating with others, practicing consideration and sharing, and strengthening the will of preventing school violence. Twenty-four units were developed with 7 practical problems(What should I do to make friends to help with each other?, What should I do to establish positive self-concept?, What should I do to communicate to build good relationship?, What should I do to solve the conflicts peacefully?, What should I do to practice consideration and sharing in food consumption?, and What should I do to practice consideration and sharing in clothing?) in 5 topic areas. Teaching-learning plans included four steps such as problem perception, practical reasoning, action, and evaluation that comprise PATM to solve the practical problems. Every step of the teaching-learning plan consisted of questions for practical reasoning and activity assignments. Materials for students and teachers were developed. Materials for students comprised 80 pieces in total including student activity, reading, movie, and clips to make students enhance understanding and interest. Materials for teachers comprised 35 pieces in total such as rationales, newspaper articles, and movies that make teachers that lesson teaching loads and were helpful for teachers. The PATM was incorporated into developing the program and a Likert-scale was used to assess usefulness, applicability, appropriateness, fidelity, substantiality, and validity of this program. This program gained more than 4.00 on a 1-5 Likert scale. This result indicated that program is expected to be effective and useful to school violence prevention.
A model is proposed for the role of emotional intensity of a web site, and the moderating influence of product involvement, in the Integrative Framework of persuasion (Meyers-Levy and Malvaiya 1999). The model also appropriately operationalizes the constructs emotional intensity of a web site and product involvement The three routes to persuasion, Central, Peripheral, and Experiential correspond to high, moderate, and low involvement (Meyers-Levy and Malaviya 1999). The involvement construct is measured from message recipients using the Personal Product Inventory (Pill, which was developed to capture the concept of product involvement (Zaichkowsky 1985). The conceptualization of the Personal Product Inventory is a contextrree measure that also has robust psychometric properties when applied to advertisements (Zaichkowsky 1994). The propositions highlight the expected importance of emotional intensity of a web site. The moderating influence of product involvement is also proposed. Specifically, what this work proposes is that the emotional intensity of a product site has a larger impact on attitude change under low product involvement, as opposed to moderate product involvement. Support for this reasoning can be found in the persuasion literature (Petty et al 1986). The Petty et al (1986) frame work is a dual process descriptive and predictive frame work in the area of altitude formation and change. Recently, Myers Levy and Malaviya (1999) have proposed a tri-process framework. This is in tum based on the dual process model of Petty et al. (1986). The study outlined in this paper aims to deepen the Meyers Levy and Malaviya (1999) and frame work. The propositions outlined in the model are empirically tested using a repeated measures experimental design. The emotional intensity is measured using a scale that is based on experts judgments. Using a paired comparison t-test two sites are determined to be of high and low emotional intensity. The model is tested using a repeated measures experimental design. The first independent variable Emotional Intensity of the site is manipulated. The Second independent variable, Personal Product Inventory is measured. While, the dependent variable, product altitude change will also be measured. Utilizing Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) the data is analyzed using SPSS. The results suggest that besides the rational content of messages their emotional content can also influence attitude change. Specifically, it is proposed that the manipulation of emotional intensity of a product Web site has a greater impact on product altitudes under high and low product involvement conditions, rather than moderate product involvement. However, the results for product involvement as a continuous variable has a p value of 0.09. Further, the results for three levels of product involvement were far from significant. For two levels of product involvement also, the results were insignificant, the p value approached 0.20. This evidence indicates that it is premature to conclude that there are three routes to persuasion. A caveat, however, must be added, in that the manipulations may not have been strong enough to test the proposed hypotheses. Further, undoubtedly, there is unequivocal evidence the emotional intensity of a product Web site, as measured here, has a direct impact on product attitudes.
This study considers service philosophy of Western representative ideology to establish service philosophy following previous studies. The service philosophy is analyzed by referring to previous researches, and the structure and operation model of service philosophy are presented together. In the analysis of the Western representative thought by the age, the ancient Mediterranean philosophy and the Athenian philosophy were analyzed in detail from the viewpoint of the service structure, and the modern thoughts were analyzed from the perspective of the service operation model consistency. We analyze whether the intangibility and process characteristics of service are consistent with the world view of Western representative ideology and analyzed whether the essential characteristics of service, such as relationship, interactivity, horizontality, and harmony, are emphasized in Western representative ideology. Also, we examined whether the spiral development model of service matches the world development model in Western representative ideology. From the ancient thought to the modern thought, mainstream thoughts emphasize the dialectical development of the conflicts, and the Taegeuk - type basic structure of service is consistent with the world 's operating structure in Western thought. In addition, it is shown that circular reasoning and process theory are central idea from ancient times to modern thought, and process theory is consistent with service operation model which creates value. Relationality and harmoniousness are presented by the majority of Western thinkers as the fundamental operating principle of the world, and both the interactive and horizontal aspects are presented as ideal operating models of the world. It is confirmed that the service philosophy can play a central role as the ideology that leads the human society.
Concepts and categories offer the basis for inference pertaining to unobserved features. Prior research on category-based induction that used blank properties has suggested that similarity between categories and features explains feature inference (Rips, 1975; Osherson et al., 1990). However, it was shown by later research that prior knowledge had a large influence on category-based inference and cases were reported where similarity effects completely disappeared. Thus, this study tested category-based feature inference when features are connected in a causal chain and proposed a feature inference model that predicts participants' inference ratings. Each participant learned a category with four features connected in a causal chain and then performed feature inference tasks for an unobserved feature in various exemplars of the category. The results revealed nonindependence, that is, the features not only linked directly to the target feature but also to those screened-off by other feature nodes and affected feature inference (a violation of the causal Markov condition). Feature inference model of causal model theory (Sloman, 2005) explained nonindependence by predicting the effects of directly linked features and indirectly related features. Indirect features equally affected participants' inference regardless of causal distance, and the model predicted smaller effects regarding causally distant features.

This study aims to design, develop the impact of a high school course in practical problem- focused teaching plan which will enable students to deal with an aging society, and prepare well for the aging by looking at issues the elderly face. This study set a target of analyzing the 2007 revised curriculum manual to develop instructor-led teaching and learning plans for 'Successful aging preparation'. Five common subjects were reframed on a practical problem basis through factor analysis of preliminary research regarding aging education for teenagers and the 2007 revised curriculum and textbooks of Technology Home Economics, and Human Development. The practical problem was 'What do we need to do to Successfully live an independent life in aging?', and the subjects studied to answer this question were the aging society and population changes. the nature of the elderly, aging preparation, care of the elderly, and welfare services for the elderly. These five subjects were grouped under the main categories of The Aging Society. Understanding the Elderly, and aging Preparation. The ultimate objective of the lessons was, through critical reasoning, to inquire into the causes of current problems the elderly face so that teenagers can understand aging societies and the elderly, and prepare for a Successful aging. Another objective was to seek reasonable alternatives for teenagers as they prepare for Successful and independent aging, and increase their problem-solving abilities in choosing the best course of action by considering the ripple effect of consequences of each of those alternatives. The practical problem-teaching lesson plans consisted of five classes on practical reasoning instruction. This study suggests that new high school curricula should include lessons on preparation for aging so that students can deal successfully with our aging society.

Introduction : Sensory Integration(SI) theory, science it is developed by an occupational therapist A. Jean Ayres, is the one of the most popular frames of reference used in occupational therapy(OT) intervention. It has been proved as a scientific theory especially in neuroscience discipline through abundant research and practice. Occupational therapists apply the SI therapy with strong clinical reasoning to improve adaptive behaviors of their clients and try to link the adaptive behaviors with occupational performance in the clients' everyday life. One of the manners regarding clinical reasoning is Top-down approach. In occupational therapy discipline, Top-down approach is well-reflected within two evaluation tools; Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM) and Assessment of Motor and Process Skills(AMPS) and two models of practice; Canadian Model of Occupational Performance(CMOP) and Occupational therapy intervention process model(OTIPM). Objective : The purpose of this paper demonstrates how SI therapy can be employed within OTIPM and how the OT process (evaluation-intervention-outcome) can be structuralized based on the Top-down approach. This single-case study recognizes the impact of a SI therapy for a male adolescent on his occupational performance. Intervention Examined : "P" was 16 years old male adolescent with no diagnosis and junior of the high school when he was referred. P was always with mouth opened, showed difficulties in gathering things need to be prepared and managing and paying money for shopping, and his colleges dislike getting close to him because he can't was his body well. AMPS was administrated in initial evaluation and reevaluation of P's occupation performance, Bruininks-Oserestky Test of Motor Proficiency-2(BOT-2) was carried out to assess motor functions and perception skills related in sensory integration, and occupational therapist performed clinical observation in order to complement the evaluation quantitatively and quantitatively. Based on the evaluation, it is concluded that the SI therapy is primary means to improve P's occupational performance, and three therapeutic approaches were constructed; restorative, acquired and compensatory approach. P showed improved motor and process skills in occupational performance after undergone the occupational therapy. Conclusions : The sensory integration therapy was practical enough to build the bridge between the occupational performance(Top) and the underlying component problems (Bottom). The OTIPM was helpful to identify meaningful occupation for P and P's family within P's contexts, and the AMPS was valuable to analyze and clarify the cause of difficulties in the chosen occupational performance.
Due to the rapid increase of available contents via the convergence of broadcasting and internet, the efficient access to personally preferred contents has become an important issue. In this paper, for recommendation scheme for TV programs using a collaborative filtering technique is studied. For recommendation of user preferred TV programs, our proposed recommendation scheme consists of offline and online computation. About offline computation, we propose reasoning implicitly each user's preference in TV programs in terms of program contents, genres and channels, and propose clustering users based on each user's preferences in terms of genres and channels by dynamic fuzzy clustering method. After an active user logs in, to recommend TV programs to the user with high accuracy, the online computation includes pulling similar users to an active user by similarity measure based on the standard preference list of active user and filtering-out of the watched TV programs of the similar users, which do not exist in EPG and ranking of the remaining TV programs by proposed rank model. Especially, in this paper, the BM (Best Match) algorithm is extended to make the recommended TV programs be ranked by taking into account user's preferences. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme with the extended BM model yields 62.1% of prediction accuracy in top five recommendations for the TV watching history of 2,441 people.

Recent research has shown that elementary school students can experience epistemic affect -emotions and feelings experienced within epistemic practices, such as the enjoyment of having a wonderful idea or uncomfortable feeling of at a cognitive dissonance- during modeling process. This study explores how an introverted elementary student could participate in the modeling process by constructing an epistemic affect. Based on the theory of constructed emotion, we analyzed one elementary student's constructed epistemic affect using data resources such as emotion diaries, video recordings, and post interviews. We selected one introverted student (a fifth grader), showing peripheral and full participation during modeling. Specifically, we explored which emotions were constructed when she participated in modeling peripherally -and which epistemic affect was constructed when she participated fully- during the construction, evaluation, and revision processes. The research results showed, first, that the introverted elementary student came to participate in the model construction process by constructing the epistemic affect called aha. Second, the results showed that she came to participate in the model revision process by constructing the epistemic affect called feeling that the reasoning was wrong when confronting the rebuttals of the other student. Finally, she came to participate in the model evaluation process by constructing the epistemic affect called dislike of another student's idea. Through our exploration of the constructed epistemic affect of the introverted elementary student, we deduced that it is important to help each student to construct an epistemic affect that facilitates his or her participation in modeling. Also, we discussed that it is important to understand the impact of the emotional load that can occur for each student, depending on the constructed past, present, and future emotions.

In this paper we propose the technique for tracking players and a ball and for obtaining players' ground traces using image mosaic in general soccer sequences. Here, general soccer sequences mean the case that there is no extreme zoom-in or zoom-out of TV camera. Obtaining player's ground traces requires that the following three main problems be solved. There main problems: (1) ground field extraction (2) player and ball tracking and team indentification (3) player positioning. The region of ground field is extracted on the basis of color information. Players are tracked by template matching and Kalman filtering. Occlusion reasoning between overlapped players in done by color histogram back-projection. To find the location of a player, a ground model is constructed and transformation between the input images and the field model is computed using four or more feature points. But, when feature points extracted are insufficient, image-based mosaic technique is applied. By this image-to-model transformation, the traces of players on the ground model can be determined. We tested our method on real TV soccer sequence and the experimental results are given.
