Several researches for site-specific weed control have tried to increase accuracy of weed detection with machine vision technique. However, there is a problem which needs substantial time to perform site-specific spraying. Therefore, new technology for real-time precision spraying system is needed. This research was executed to develope the new technology to estimate weed density and size in real time, and to conduct a real-time site-specific spraying. It would effectively reduce herbicide amounts applied for a crop field. The real-time precision spraying system consisted of a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) with an error of 2 cm, a machine vision system, a geomagnetic sensor for correction of view point of CCD camera and an automatic sprayer with separately controlled nozzle. The weed density was calculated with comparison between position information and a pre-designed electronic map. The position information was obtained in real time using the DGPS and the machine vision. The electronic map contained a position database of crops automatically constructed when seeding. The developed system was tested on an experimental field of Seoul National University. Success rate of the spraying was about 61%.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the immediate effects of posture correction and real-time visual feedback using a video display on muscle activity and change of head position during overhead arm lift test in individuals with forward head posture. Methods: Fifteen subjects with forward head posture and fifteen normal subjects who volunteered were included in this study. During both groups performed the overhead arm lift test, the muscle activity of the upper trapezius, serratus anterior, sternocleidomastoid, and lower trapezius muscle were measured using electromyography, and head position change was measured using photographs. Then, forward head posture group was asked to perform overhead arm lift test again after posture correction and real-time visual feedback using a video display respectively. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze four conditions: pre-test, posture correction, real-time visual feedback, and the control group. Results: The upper trapezius and lower trapezius muscle activity significantly decreased posture correction, real-time visual feedback, and control group than pre-test of forward head posture group (p<0.05). The sternocleidomastoid muscle significantly decreased real-time visual feedback and control group than pre-test of forward head posture group. Head position change significantly decreased three conditions than pre-test of forward head posture group and real-time visual feedback and control group significantly decreased than posture correction. Conclusion: This study recommend for maintaining cervical stability during the overhead arm lift test, postural control using real-time visual feedback is more effective in subjects with forward head posture.

In this study, we propose a real time inertial navigation system/global positioning system (INS/GPS) integrated smoothing algorithm based on an extended Kalman filter (EKF) and a position damping loop (PDL) for synthetic aperture radar (SAR). Integrated navigation algorithms usually induce discontinuities due to error correction update by the Kalman filter, which are as detrimental to the performance of SAR as the relative position error. The proposed smoothing algorithm suppresses these discontinuities and also reduces the relative position error in real time. An EKF estimates the navigation errors and sensor biases, and all the errors except for the position error are corrected directly and instantly. A PDL activated during SAR operation period imposes damping effects on the position error estimates, where the estimated position error is corrected smoothly and gradually, which contributes to the real time smoothing and small relative position errors. The residual errors are re-estimated by the EKF to maintain the estimation performance and the stability of the overall loop. The performance improvements were confirmed by Monte Carlo simulations. The simulation results showed that the discontinuities were reduced by 99.8% and the relative position error by 48% compared with a conventional EKF without a smoothing loop, thereby satisfying the basic performance requirements for SAR operation. The proposed algorithm may be applicable to low cost SAR systems which use a conventional INS/GPS without changing their hardware configurations.

The position verification of the radiation source utilized in brachytherapy forms a critical factor in determining the therapeutic efficiency. Currently, films are used to verify the source position; however, this method is encumbered by the lengthy time interval required from film scanning to analysis, which makes real-time position verification difficult. In general, the source position accuracy is usually tested in a monthly quality assurance check. In this context, this study investigates the feasibility of the real-time position verification of the radiation source in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy with the use of scintillating fibers. To this end, we construct a system consisting of scintillating fibers and a silicon photomultiplier (SiPM), optimize the dosimetric software setup and radiation system characteristics to obtain maximum measurement accuracy, and determine the relative ratio of the measured signals dependent upon the position of the scintillating fiber. According to the dosimetric results based on a treatment plan, in which the dwell time is set at 30 and 60 s at two dwell positions, the number of signals is 31.5 and 83, respectively. In other words, the signal rate roughly doubles in proportion to the dwell time. The source position can also be confirmed at the same time. With further improvements in the spatial resolution and scintillating fiber array, the source position can be verified in real-time in clinical settings with the use of a scintillating fiber-based system.
Real-time image processing algorithms to detect position and orientation of rectangular type electronic components are developed. The position detection algorithm is implemented with the use of projection method which is insensitive to noise. Also dynamic thresholding method of projection is employed in order to distinguish between the boundary of a component and any marking on the component. The orientation is determined by Hough transform of boundary candidates of a component, which is obtained a priori by a simple edge detection method. For real-time processing of both position and orientation for a component which is not aligned well, parallel processing method of image data is proposed and tested in real-time.
This paper deals with on-Line detection of strip movement and real time positioning of brackets of EMD connected with it. Strip movement is detected by 4 line CCD camera and measured position correction value is inputted to motor position controller to control position of brackets.
To acquire an appointed speaker's clear voice signal from inspect-camera, picture-conference or hands free microphone eliminating interference noises needs to be preceded speaker's position automatically. Presumption of sound source position's basic algorithm is about measuring TDOA(Time Difference Of Arrival) from reaching same signals between two microphones. This main project uses ADF(Adaptive Delay Filter) [4] and CPS(Cross Power Spectrum) [5] which are one of the most important analysis of TDOA. From these analysis this project proposes presumption of real time sound source position and improved model NI-ADF which makes possible to presume both directions of sound source position. NI-ADF noticed that if auditory sense of humankind reaches above to some specified level in specified frequency, it will accept sound through activated nerve. NI-ADF also proposes practicable algorithm, the presumption of real time sound source position including both directions, that when microphone loads to some specified system, it will use sounds level difference from external system related to sounds of diffraction phenomenon. In accordance with the project, when existing both direction adaptation filter's algorithm measures sound source, it increases more than twice number by measuring one way. Preserving this weak point, this project proposes improved algorithm to presume real time in both directions.
In this paper, we propose a new framework to control VR(Virtual reality) contents in real time using user's mouth-wind and acceleration sensor of mobile device. In VR, user interaction technology is important, but various user interface methods is still lacking. Most of the interaction technologies are hand touch screen touch or motion recognition. We propose a new interface technology that can interact with VR contents in real time using user's mouth-wind method with acceleration sensor. The direction of the mouth-wind is determined using the angle and position between the user and the mobile device, and the control position is adjusted using the acceleration sensor of the mobile device. Noise included in the size of the mouth wind is refined using a simple average filter. In order to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed technology, we show the result of interacting with contents in game and simulation in real time by applying control position and mouth-wind external force to the game.
