Indexing and Matching Scheme for Content-based Image Retrieval based on Extendible Hash (효과적인 이미지 검색을 위한 연장 해쉬(Extendible hash) 기반 인덱싱 및 검색 기법)

  • So far, many researches have been done to index high-dimensional feature values for fast content-based image retrieval. Still, many existing indexing schemes are suffering from performance degradation due to the curse of dimensionality problem. As an alternative, heuristic algorithms have been proposed to calculate the result with 'high probability' at the cost of accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new extendible hash-based indexing scheme for high-dimensional feature values. Our indexing scheme provides several advantages compared to the traditional high-dimensional index structures in terms of search performance and accuracy preservation. Through extensive experiments, we show that our proposed indexing scheme achieves outstanding performance.

Multi-UAV Formation Based on Feedback Linearization Technique Using Range-Only Measurement (거리 정보를 이용한 되먹음 선형화 기법 무인기 편대 비행제어)

  • This paper addresses how to make a formation of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using only the relative range information. Since the relative range can easily be measured by an on-board range sensor like the laser range finder, the proposed method does not require any expensive and heavy wireless communication system to share the navigation information of each vehicle. Based on the two-dimensional (2-D) nonlinear equations of motion, we propose a nonlinear formation controller using the typical input-output feedback linearization method. The performance of the proposed formation controller is verified by various numerical simulations.

A Mobile Multicast Scheme based on Mobile Speed (이동 속도 기반의 멀티캐스트 기법)

  • Recently as the mobile computing is burgeoning, multimedia services have become very popular. Multimedia services require large data volume and have to send the same data to several users. In order to provide efficient multimedia services that have those characteristic to mobile users, efficient multicast technique to support host mobility is required. Previous research that support multicast services in mobile computing based on Mobile IP have the non-optimization problem of data delivery path, overhead by frequent reconstruction of the multicast tree, and service disruption problem. In this paper, we propose the mobility pattern based multicast technique using variable service range according to the mobility of mobile hosts and resource reservation to solve this problems. The experimental results show that our proposed mechanism has improved performance than previous research.

Unsupervised Change Detection of Hyperspectral images Using Range Average and Maximum Distance Methods (구간평균 기법과 직선으로부터의 최대거리를 이용한 초분광영상의 무감독변화탐지)

  • Thresholding is important step for detecting binary change/non-change information in the unsupervised change detection. This study proposes new unsupervised change detection method using Hyperion hyperspectral images, which are expected with data increased demand. A graph is drawn with applying the range average method for the result value through pixel-based similarity measurement, and thresholding value is decided at the maximum distance point from a straight line. The proposed method is assessed in comparison with expectation-maximization algorithm, coner method, Otsu's method using synthetic images and Hyperion hyperspectral images. Throughout the results, we validated that the proposed method can be applied simply and had similar or better performance than the other methods.

A Fuzzy-based Fusion Wireless Localization Method (퍼지기반 융합 무선위치추정기법)

  • In the wireless localization systems using range measurements, iteration method-based approximated solutions have been used. Also, linear closed-form solutions have been investigated in the light of local minimum problem and computational load. However, each closed-form solution has individual error factors that cause usage limit of the solutions. In this paper, a fusion method integrating two representative closed-form solutions is presented. The presented method cancels the error factors of each solution out. Weights for integrating the standalone solutions are determined using the error factors-based fuzzy method. The performance of the proposed method is verified using some simulation results.

Resource Allocation and Transmission Control Scheme using Window-Based Dynamic Bandwidth Smoothing Method (윈도우 기반 동적 대역폭 평활화 방식을 이용한 자원 할당 및 전송 제어 기법)

  • Recently, many of researches on stream transmission for satisfying each of different real-time transmission condition of the multimedia data that demands various service quality through high-speed networks have been studied actively. In this paper, we design a scheme that discriminately reserves the network resources for the transmission of each multimedia application and propose a bandwidth allocation scheme for improving the utilization ratio of free resources. And we also propose a pipelining scheme for providing flexible real-time transmission. The proposed schemes can be used to support a real-time transmission by applying feedback transmission control method based on receiving buffer for guaranteeing the synchronization conditions requested by the multimedia data. Moreover, we propose a transmission control scheme that can take the amount of network resources down to the minimum amount within the range of permissible error-range under the guarantee with no quality degradation simultaneously when the bottleneck is caused by the network congestion. Finally, we propose a dynamic bandwidth smoothing scheme that can smooth the maximum bandwidth to the demand of each video steam for giving continuous transmission to the delay sensitive video steam between senders and receivers.

  • The classical image reconstruction for stripmap SAR is based on the Fresnel approximation which utilizes deramping or chirp deconvolution in the synthetic aperture(slow-time) domain. Another approach in formulating stripmap SAR processing and imaging is based on the SAR wavefront reconsturction theory, and analysis of the SAR signal in the slow-time via the spherical wave Fourier decomposition of the radar radiation pattern. In this paper, we compare the Fresnel approximation and the wavefrong reconstruction methods using simulated stripmap SAR dada.

  • 모바일 환경에서 멀티캐스트를 구현하는 방법으로 대표적인 방법으로는 원격가입(MIP-RS)와 양방향 터널링(MIP-BT)이 있으며 이의 단점을 보완한 MoM이 제안되었다. 하지만 터널링 경로가 최적으로부터 멀어지는 현상을 처리하지 못함에 따라 이를 해결하기 위해 터널링 범위에 제한을 가하는 RB MoM이 제안되었다. RB MoM의 경우 터널링 경로의 조절은 가능할 수 있었으나 이동호스트의 이동에 따른 HA 등록 등과 같은 등록메시지의 양은 줄일수는 없었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 RB MoM의 장점인 터널링 경로 조절기능을 살리면서 이동호스트의 이동에 따른 등록메시지를 줄이고 GFA의 터널링 부하를 분산시키기 위해 멀티캐스트 터널링 범위에 제한을 둔 지역등록 기법을 제안하였다.

An Efficient Range Query Processing of Distributed Moving Object (분산 이동 객체 데이터베이스의 효율적인 범위 질의 처리)

  • Recently, the location based service for moving customers is becoming one of the most important service in mobile communication area and for moving object applications, there are lots of update operations and such update loads are concentrated on some particular area unevenly. The primary processing of LBS application is spatio-temporal range queries and to improve the throughput of spatio-temporal range queries, the time of disk I/O in query processing should be reduced. In this paper, we adopt non-uniform two-level grid index structure, which are designed to minimize update operations. We propose query scheduling technique using spatial relationship and time relationship and a combined spatio-temporal query processing method using time zone concepts to improve the throughput of query processing. Some experimental results are shown for range queries with different query range to show the performance tradeoffs of the proposed methods.

  • A combined buck and boost push-pull quantum series resonant rectifier(PPQSRR) is newly proposed to achieve a power factor correction without start-up inrush current. Based on the developed dynamic modeling of the proposed rectifier, an inrush current elimination control technique is proposed and the usefullness of the proposed rectifier and control method are verified by computer simulation and experimental results. With the proposed control method, a high power factor and wide range of output voltage can be obtained.
