The transition between bridge and earthwork often causes the problems of maintenance. The damages of the track on the transition area influence running safety of train and serviceability, increase the maintenance cost. Therefore it is very important to evaluate the dynamic responses of transition and take a efficient measure. In order to evaluate the dynamic behavior of track, the field estimations are performed at the transition area of a conventional line between bridge and earthwork. And the track system on the transition area numerically analyzed to evaluate the dynamic behavior of damaged track with void sleeper. The measured values and Analysis results such as wheel contact force, rail stress, displacement acceleration and track irregularity in the transition area show the dynamic forces are severe. So it is recommended that the transition area should be improved the rigidity by reinforcing the rail.
Railway vehicle have three translational motions-longitudinal, vertical and lateral, and three rotational motions-rolling, pitching and yawing caused by track irregularity, wheel and rail characteristic, dynamic behaviors etc. The rolling motion in vehicle mainly happens in cases of the vehicles stationary and running on canted track. When the vehicle positioned in stationary on canted track, vehicle is inclined toward inside of installed cant due to gravity component. When the vehicle has running on a track with cant deficiency, vehicle is inclined toward outside of installed cant due to centrifugal force. The roll coefficient(s) is defined as the ratio between the angle of inclination of the vehicle($\eta$) and the angle of the rail level($\alpha$). This paper has noted the test method, test result and analysis result to calculate the roll coefficient according to UIC505-5, international standard
This paper presented a literature review and investigation analysis results of total 19 present guide book and provisions of maintenance and management system in existing railway bridges to development of urban maglev track structures inspection manual. This research carried out a cooperated research subject 3-1, development a design code and maintenance and management inspection manual for urban maglev track structures, of the Center for Urban Maglev Program. Three types of track structures were includes as a major analytical parameter together with railroad, high speed railroad, subway and light rail transit. Bridges were analyzed a general rules, investigation, evaluation, repair and strengthen method as a key aspect. And rail were analyzed examination and maintenance also. This analysis results show that the track structures evaluation are based on the test and examination results, and repaired or strengthened consideration of deterioration, track irregularity and materials according to provision requirements.

The demand of CWR is rapidly increasing because of the adaptation of concrete track, the need for rapid and comfortable ride, and the reduction of maintenance cost. Because of short applying period of the concrete track, there is not a case of CWR fracture in Korea caused by repeated load of the train, which makes it difficult to calculate replacement period of rail based on rail fatigue life using an actual field data. This study thus inspected the bending stress at rail bottom through analyzing the vehicle/track interaction, performed multiple regression analysis on the data, deducted the bending stress prediction equations by the speed and the surface irregularity. Finally, the fatigue life of CWR on the concrete track was predicted based on the prediction equations for bending stress at rail bottom.

This study examined the running dynamic characteristics of a hybrid type wheel-rail high speed train, in which the propulsion method of maglev is applied. A wheel-rail high speed train propelled by a superconducting linear synchronous motor (SC-LSM) is expected to be superior to a maglev train regarding economical and interoperable aspects, still having powerful thrust force as maglev. In this paper, regarding the two methods of applying the SC-LSM to an existing wheel-rail train, to investigate the influences of SC-LSM propulsion on the dynamic characteristics of wheel-rail high speed train, the dynamic model of train including interaction between the rotor and stator of SC-LSM is established. Through the simulation using the model, the influence of the interaction between the rotor and stator of SC-LSM on stability, ride comfort and the effect of guideway irregularity are investigated.

The irregularity of railway track affects not only the comfort of ride such as noise or vibration but also the safety of train operation. For this reason, it is an interesting research area to design a reliable and sustainable railway track system and to analyze the train movement mechanism based on systematic approaches considering reasons of track irregularity possible in a specific local environment. Irregularity data inspected by EM-120, an railway inspection system in Korea includes unavoidable incomplete and erratic information, so it is encountered lots of problem to analyse those data without appropriate pre-data-refining processes. In this research, for the efficient management and maintenance of railway system, progress rate of standard deviation of irregularity is quantified. During the computation, some important components of railways such as rail joint, ballast, roadbed, and fastener have been considered. Probabilistic distributions of irregularity growth with respect to time are computed to predict the remaining service life of railway track and to be adapted for the safety assessment.
In this study, regulation of the performance test load of a vibration-proof fastening system used in urban railways was established through evaluation of the loads that it bears in the field. In order to investigate the range of the dynamic stiffness of the vibration-proof fastening system, dynamic stiffness tests were carried out for three types of vibration-proof fastening system that can be domestically supplied. Train and track interaction analyses in the frequency domain were carried out to evaluate the dynamic wheel loads. The track irregularity, which is a very important input factor in train and track interaction analysis, was considered as a PSD (Power Spectral Density) function, which was derived based on the measured data. The loads on the vibration-proof rail fastening system were evaluated considering various operating conditions in the urban railway. Regulation of the performance test load of the vibration-proof rail fastening system was established based on the evaluated loads.

In the development of high-speed trains, ride comfort is an important factor that determines the quality of the train. In this study, the ride comforts of high-speed trains with rigid and flexible car bodies were evaluated. The rail irregularity is used as an exciting source of the car-body bounce motion. The complex extruded structures of the car-body are modeled as shell structures using the calculated equivalent stiffness of the flexible model. The numerical results show that the ride of the rigid-body model improves as the speed increases, which is unreasonable. In contrast, the relationship between ride comfort and speed in the case of flexible-body model is reasonable. Thus, it is confirmed that the flexibility of the car body needs to be taken into consideration while fabricating a high-speed train.
In order to reveal the independent relationship between track irregularity and wind loads, the stochastic characteristics of train-bridge coupling systems subjected to wind loads were investigated by the multi-sample calculation. The vehicle was selected as 23 degrees of freedom dynamical model, and the bridge was described by three-dimensional finite element model. It was assumed that the wind loads were random processes with strong spatial correlation, while the track irregularities were stationary random ones. As a case study, a high-speed train running on a cable-stayed bridge subjected to wind loads was studied. The effect of rail irregularities was deemed to be independent of the effect of wind excitations on the coupling system in the same wind circumstance for the same project, leading to the conclusion that the effect of wind loads and moving vehicle could be calculated separately. The variance results of the stochastic responses of vehicle-bridge coupling system under the action of wind loads and rail irregularities together were equivalent to the sum of the variance of the responses induced by each excitation. Therefore, when one of the input excitations is different, only the effect of changed loads needs to be assessed. Moreover, the new calculated results were combined with the effect of unchanged loads to present the stochastic response of coupling system subjected to the different excitations, reducing the cost of computations. The stochastic characteristics, the CFD (cumulative distribution function) of the coupling system with different wind velocities, vehicle speed, and vehicle marshalling were studied likewise.
DMT Freight is judged that economic performance is good because can increase cargoes than existing freight. However, the existing freight cars, each with a different balance to the body structure is bogie because the vibrations may occur. Thus, by minimizing vibration over the existing freight securing the safety of the driving if you will not have major problems in cargoes. In this study, multi-body dynamic analysis tool, VI-Rail using the actually Gyeongbu Railroad line and an empty, full freight condition include curve radius, track irregularity, cent. DMT freight of the derailed wagons were assessed for safety analysis. Full and empty freight conditions for parity in the Gyeongbu Railroad line(Dongdaegoo ${\leftrightarrow}$Gyungsan) derailment safety analysis, such as derailment safety coefficient and the radius wheel road decrement, echoing the curve and the orbit is affected by the irregularity was found. Full freight condition than the empty conditions showed a significant derailment safety. Overall, the limits of derailment coefficient (Q/P=0.8) and wheel road decrement limits (${\Delta}P/P=0.6$) is less safe with me confirmed that the derailment safety.
