Footing settlement formula based on multi-variable regression analyses

  • The formulas offered so far on the settlement of raft footings provide only a rough estimate of the actual settlement. One of the best ways to make an accurate estimation is to conduct 3-dimensional finite element analyses. However, the required procedure for these analyses is comparatively cumbersome and expensive and needs a bit more expertise. In order to address this issue, in this study, a raft footing settlement formula was developed based on ninety finite element model configurations. The formula was derived using multi-parameter exponential regression analyses. The settlement formula incorporates the dimensions and the elastic modulus of a rectangular raft, vertical uniform pressure and soil moduli and Poisson's ratios up to 5 layers. In addition to this, an equation was offered for the estimation of average deflection of the raft. The proposed formula was checked against 3 well-documented case studies. The formula that is derived from 3D finite element analyses is useful in optimising the raft properties.

Bearing capacity of micropiled-raft system

  • The micropile has been mainly used under the concept of supplementing structural support or reinforcing soft ground. For the micropiled-raft system which uses a micropile and a raft in combination in particular, it is generally considered as ground reinforcement rather than foundation components considering the bearing capacity of the micropile in many cases. In this study, the bearing capacity mechanism of the micropiled-raft system is investigated through a physical model test and numerical method. The numerical results have shown that not only the slender-pile-effect of the micropile, but also the ground reinforcement effect, increase the bearing capacity considerably. The bearing capacity formula of the micropiled-raft system is derived based on the failure mechanism obtained through model tests. The formula is verified and proposed as a design chart.

기초분리말뚝 공법의 설계기법 개발 (Development of Design Method of Disconnected Piled Raft Foundation System)

  • In the design of a foundation, settlement of the foundation may exceed allowable design criteria even with a competent bearing stratum. In such a case, a piled-raft foundation system may be adopted using piles as settlement reducing component. In this paper, Disconnected Piled Raft Foundation (DPRF) system, which installs disconnected piles underneath the raft and uses the piles as ground reinforcements, is studied as a cost effective design method against the classical piled-raft foundation system. To this end, large size loading tests were carried out on weathered ground changing area replacement ratio and length of piles. The results indicated that the settlement of the reinforced ground was reduced by 34~87% and the allowable bearing pressure increased by 70% on average from those of the unreinforced original ground, respectively. The correlating formula between the area replacement ratio and the load bearing ratio of piles were derived from the test results and numerical analysis. From the correlation, a design method determining the size and the quantity of the disconnected piles to enhance the bearing capacity of original ground to the desired value was proposed based on one inch settlement criteria.

수색구조 작업에 사용되는 표류지점 추정 공식 분석 (Analysis of Drift Prediction Formula Used in the Search and Rescue Mission)

  • In search and rescue mission the leeway formula based on the field experiments are utilized for the estimation of wind effect on distressed targets. This paper summarized the leeway formula from the available references. In the summary the environmental data collection method and experimental conditions are described along with the formula. Also the formula currently used in CASP of the U.S. Coast Gurard and CANSARP of the Canadian Coast Guard are discussed.

NFT 거래 안정성을 고려한 합의알고리즘 성능분석 (Performance Analysis of Consensus Algorithm considering NFT Transaction Stability)

  • 본 논문에서는 NFT 거래 시 거래비용과 처리시간의 증가 및 스마트 계약 실행 시 발생하는 거래 안정성 요구을 높이기 위한 방법으로 다양한 블록체인 합의알고리즘의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 성능 비교를 위한 평가항목으로 네트워크 신뢰성, TPS, 합의알고리즘의 안정성의 세 가지 평가항목에 대하여 제시하였다. 각 평가항목에 대한 정형화된 식을 수립하기 위하여 연산식에 노드의 신뢰도와 스마트 계약 성공률 등을 변수로 고려하였으며 동일 조건하에 PoW와 Raft, PBFT 세 개 그룹의 합의알고리즘에 대하여 성능을 비교하고 분석하였다. 성능평가 결과 네트워크 신뢰도는 세 그룹의 성능이 유사하였으며 나머지 두 개의 평가항목의 경우 다른 합의알고리즘 대비 PBFT 합의알고리즘이 우수한 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 성능평가 연산식과 결과를 통하여 PBFT 합의시 본 연구에서 제안한 처리 과정을 합의 과정에 반영하여 처리할 경우 네트워크 신뢰성을 보장하고 합의 알고리즘의 안정성과 경제적 효율성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

수직증축 공동주택 하부 기존말뚝의 열화를 고려한 축강성 제안 (Proposed Deterioration-induced Axial Stiffness of Existing Piles in Vertical Extension Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 수직증축 구조물의 기존말뚝의 축강성(Kve)을 이론적인 접근과 현장 계측 결과를 바탕으로 추정하였다. 이론적인 접근에는 Randolph와 Wroth(1978)가 제안한 축강성 공식을 적용하여, 지중에 설치된 강성 및 연성말뚝의 세장비(L/D)에 따른 축강성의 범위를 도출하였다. 여기에, 1995 - 1997년 사이에 설치된 38본 말뚝의 계측된 시공 당시 축강성을 이론적으로 도출한 축강성 범위에 중첩해서 고려하였다. 이를 통하여, 노후화와 열화에 의하여 감소한 기존말뚝의 축강성의 최대값을 세장비에 따라 제안하였고, 도출된 값을 통계적인 기법을 통하여 상위 95% 값을 제안하여 신설 보강말뚝 설계 시 필요한 최소 축강성(Kvr)을 산정하는 데에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.
