CO OBSERVATIONS OF A HIGH LATITUDE HII REGION S73 WITH HIGH RESOLUTION AUTOCORRELATOR

  • We have mapped $1 deg^2$ region toward a high latitude HII region S73 (l, b) = ($37^{\circ}.69$, $44^{\circ}.55$) and associated molecular cloud in $^{12}CO$ J = 1 - 0, and $^{13}CO$ J = 1 - 0, using the 3 mm SIS receiver on the 14 m telescope at Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory. A high resolution autocorrelator is used to resolve extremely narrow CO linewidths (FWHP < 1 km/s) of the molecular cloud. Though the linewidths are very narrow, it is found that there is systematic velocity gradient in the molecular gas associated with the H II region. Both of $^{12}CO$ and $^{13}CO$ averaged spectra are non-gaussian, and there are obvious blue wings in the spectra. It is remarkable that the linewidths at the blueshifted region are broader than those of the rest of the cloud. The CO emission does match well with the dust emission.

  • 소출력 무선설비로부터 발사되는 전파로 인한 혼신으로부터 다른 무선국을 보호하기 위해 사용 주파수에 따라 출력 강도를 제한하고 있으며, 수신기의 경우에는 불요 발사 전력을 규제하고 있는데, 국내의 경우에는 1GHz이하의 소출력 무선설비의 수신기의 부차적인 전파 전력에 관한 규정은 -54dBm으로 규정되어, 1GHz 이상의 소출력 무선설비의 경우에는 아직 그 규정이 마련되어 있지 않고 있다. 현재 1GHz 이상의 기기들이 통신시장의 확대로 인해 서비스가 증가하고 있어 국내 기준이 필요 상태이다.

  • Cost-effective, robust devices for solid-state lighting industry that converts electricity to light revolutionize the current lighting industry. Phosphor materials used in these devices should be synthesized in a low-cost and effective method for use in WLEDs. In this presentation, the synthesis of Eu3+ ions doped BaMoO4 phosphor samples by a facile synthesis process for red component of WLEDs will be shown. The tetragonal phase of the host lattice was substantiated by the X-ray diffraction patterns. The morphological studies were carried out by using a field-emission scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. These confirmed the formation of a shuttle like particles with perpendicular protrusions in the middle of the particle. The photoluminescence (PL) properties exhibited good emission with a high asymmetry ratio when excited with ultraviolet B wavelengths (~ 280-315 nm). The cathodoluminescence (CL) spectra showed similar results to the PL spectra, indicating the rich red emission. The results suggest that this phosphor is a good material as red region component in the development of tri-band UV excitation based WLEDs.

Two Populations in Young Radio Galaxies

  • We investigate the disk-jet connection of Young Radio Galaxies (YRGs) by comparing emission-line properties with radio luminosity and jet size. By combining new optical spectra for 21 objects with SDSS archival data for 15 objects, we selected a sample of 36 low-redshift YRGs at z < 0.4. We find that YRGs are classified in high- and low-excitation galaxies based on the relative strength of high-to-low excitation line strengths, suggesting that there are two populations in YRGs as similarly found in large radio galaxies, i.e., FRIs and FRIIs. High-excitation galaxies (HEGs) have higher emission line luminosities than low-excitation galaxies (LEGs) at fixed black hole mass and radio luminosity, suggesting that the Eddington ratio is higher in HEGs than in LEGs and that for given radio activity HEGs have higher accretion activity than LEGs. The difference between HEGs and LEGs is probably due to either mass accretion rate or radiative efficiency.

  • 본 논문은 능동 소자의 스위칭 잡음이 함체 내부에 위치한 PCB에 인가될 때, 함체의 개구 방사에 미치는 영향을 분석한 연구이다. 이상적인 주기 펄스 입력 신호가 PCB에 인가된 경우의 개구 방사와 스위칭 잡음을 포함한 주기 입력 신호가 인가된 경우의 개구 방사를 비교하였다. DC-DC 컨버터의 등가회로를 이용해 능동 소자의 스위칭 잡음을 구현하였으며, 방사 전계 시뮬레이션을 위해 회로 시뮬레이터와 전자기장 시뮬레이터를 연동시켜 해석을 수행하였다. 또한, 측정 결과와 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교하였다.

RADIO RELICS IN CLUSTERS OF GALAXIES

  • In this paper we review the observational results on Relic radio sources in clusters of galaxies. We discuss their observational properties, structures and radio spectra. We will show that Relics can be divided according to their size, morphology, and location in the galaxy cluster. These differences could be related to physical properties of Relic sources. The comparison with cluster conditions suggests that Relics could be related to shock waves originated by cluster mergers.

THE ASSOCIATION OF NEUTRAL HYDROGEN WITH HII REGIONS AND RADIO SOURCES

  • The HI features associated with HII regions and radio sources in the galactic-plane are searched in the Maryland-Green Bank Galactic 21-cm Line Survey. Among the twenty-eight such objects, twenty-five show HI depression features, two no feature, and an emission feature with excess HI brightness temperature. Most of these feature are surrounded by strong HI emissions. The depth of the HI depression is proportional to the radio continuum brightness temperature. The angular dimensions of the HI feature and radio source are comparable. The small HI depressions shown at the positions of HII region located in the outer solar circle are considered to be HI self-absorption features of very cold HI gas.
