This article proposes analytical solutions for sound radiation from radial vibration modes of a thick annular disk. Structural eigensolutions are calculated using the transfer matrix method. The far-field sound pressure distribution is obtained using two alternate methods. In the first method, pressure is calculated using the Rayleigh integral technique. The second method treats sound radiating radial surfaces as cylindrical radiators of finite length. The Sinc function approach is employed for calculations. Acoustic powers and radiation efficiencies of radial modes are also determined from the far-field sound pressure calculations. Analytical predictions match well with measured data as well as computational results from a finite element code in terms of structural eigensolutions and from a boundary element code in terms of sound pressure, directivity etc.

The three-dimensional orientation distribution function of a conical shaped tungsten liner prepared by the thermo-mechanical forming process was analyzed by 1.525$\AA$ neutrons to carry out the Rietveld refinement. The pole figure data of three reflections, (110)(220) and (211) were measured. The orientation distribution functions for the normal and radial directions were calculated by the WIMV method. The inverse pole figures of the normal and radial directions were obtained from their orientation distribution functions. The Rietveld refinement was performed with the RIETAN program that was slightly modified for the description of preferred orientation effect. We could successfully do the Rietveld refinement of the strongly textured tungsten liner by applying the pole density of each reflection obtained from the inverse pole figure to the calculated diffraction pattern. The correction method of preferred orientation effect based on the inverse pole figures showed a good improvement over the semi-empirical texture correction based on the direct usage of simple empirical functions.
Distribution systems is consist of network in physical and radial in electrical aspect. Therefore radial operation is realized by changing the status of sectionalizing switches, and is usually done for loss reduction in the system. In this paper, we propose a optimal method for distribution systems reconfiguration. Specifically we use genetic algorithm method to solve distribution systems reconfiguration for loss minimization problem. A genetic algorithm(GA) is set up, in which some improvements are made on string coding, fitness function and mutation pattern. As a result, premature convergence is avoided.
The model of an isolated organ system has been constructed to simulated the behavior of drug in the circulatory system of an acting organ or site. The model is developed on the following assumptions : The drug in the microcirculatory system cannot permeate the capilary walls. The capilary bed is modeled as a simple ideal plug flow system with and without radial concentration gradient. The mathematical model is developed from basic considerations of drug distribution with hemodynamical and pharmacokinetical meanings. It is considered that a nonmetabolic drug substance is injected into the arterial inflow site of an isolated organ at a constant rate. The concentration of the drug in the outflow site is mathematically expressed as a function of time.

This paper presents an efficient algorithm for loss reduction and load balancing by sectionalizing switch operation in large scale distribution system of radial type. We use Genetic algorithm and Kruskal algorithm to solve distribution system reconfiguration. Genetic algorithm is used to minimize objective function including loss and load balancing items. Kruskal algorithm is used to satisfy the radial condition of distribution system. The experimental results show that the proposed method has the ability to search a good solution regardless of initial configuration and size of system.

In this work, Self-adaptive Differential Evolutionary (SaDE) algorithm is proposed to solve Optimal Location and Size of Capacitor (OLSC) problem in radial distribution networks. To obtain the SaDE algorithm, two improvements have been applied on control parameters of mutation and crossover operators. To expand the study, three load conditions have been considered, i.e., constant, varying and effective loads. Objective function is introduced for the load conditions. The annual cost is fitness of problem, in addition to this cost, CPU time, voltage profile, active power loss and total installed capacitor banks and their related costs have been used for comparisons. To confirm the ability of each improvements of SaDE, the improvements are studied both in separate and simultaneous conditions. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, it is tested on IEEE 10-bus and 34-bus radial distribution networks and compared with other approaches.

An experimental investigation has been conducted to determine the flow pattern for two-component , two-phase mixtures which flow vertically upwards in concentric annuli based on the measurement for the local void fraction and the distribution of the local void fraction in various radial locations in the annular gap. The annular test section consists of a lucite outer tube whose inside diameter is 38mm and a stainless steel rod, The rod diameter is either :2mm,16mm or 20mm. It is demonstrated that the probability density function of the fluctuations in void fraction may be used as an flow pattern indicator and the local void fraction distribution depends on the flow pattern and radial location in the annular passage.

In this paper, we introduce the methodological system design via feature selection using Principal Component Analysis and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithms. The overall methodological system design comes from three kinds of modules such as preprocessing module, feature extraction module, and recognition module. First, Histogram equalization enhance the quality of image by exploiting contrast effect based on the normalized function generated from histogram distribution values of 2D face image. Secondly, PCA extracts feature vectors to be used for face recognition by using eigenvalues and eigenvectors obtained from covariance matrix. Finally the feature selection for face recognition among the entire feature vectors is considered by means of the Particle Swarm Optimization. The optimized Polynomial-based Radial Basis Function Neural Networks are used to evaluate the face recognition performance. This study shows that the proposed methodological system design is effective to the analysis of preferred face recognition.
This paper presents a statistical machine learning method that generates the implied volatility surface under the rareness of the market data. We apply the practitioner's Black-Scholes model and Gaussian process regression method to construct a Bayesian inference system with observed volatilities as a prior information and estimate the posterior distribution of the unobserved volatilities. The variance instead of the volatility is the target of the estimation, and the radial basis function is applied to the mean and kernel function of the Gaussian process regression. We present two types of Gaussian process regression methods and empirically analyze them.

The radial density distributions of the positive column of strongly modulated low -pressure gas discharges in mercury - rare gas mixtures at 10 tom pressure have been studied theoretically. The current was modulated inusoidally with a modulation depth of 50%. Calculations have shown that the radial profile of the excited atoms is ditferent form 0th Bessel function $J_0$(2.4r/R) and the invertion of the radial distribution of the excited atom can occur at some frequency. The hybrid method of FDM and 2nd order Runge-Kutta meth od is used for solving differenzial equations.
